One of the most shambolic meals I've ever had in London. To list (not all) of the issues: - Wrong drinks given at start. - Only told about sold out food options when we tried to order them (this was at 19:45 on a Thursday, and covered more than half of the "grill" section, so who knows what the rest of the patrons had). - One starter inedible. - An hour's wait for main courses, only to then be told that one of the chosen meals had run out so we'd have to order something else, and wait even longer. - "Vegan linguine" was cold spaghetti that was missing one of the four ingredients listed on the menu, tomatoes, and when raised with staff the manager offered to add "tomato sauce". - Burger looked worse than you'd get at a standard pub but twice the price. - Men's loos were missing cistern lids, toilet roll holders, and flushes. There was no apology from any staff member, even though they took the food off the bill. We couldn't even put the bad service down to a mad rush, as fewer than half the tables were in use. Seemingly no idea how to run a restaurant, which is a shame as it is in a prime location in Soho. We were able to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, but I feel very bad for diners who don't have the confidence or experience to request a refund as they are going to be incredibly ripped off and left with a poor experience of London dining, which should be far better.

I ate here with my girlfriend recently. Overall we enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and the food was tasty. However the service was slow and seemed a bit disorganised, this was surprising as there was only a couple of tables eating. Also my coffee was served with off milk and had to be replaced. Neither of which was a major problem. What did annoy me and stops me giving more than 3 stars is that they automatically added a 12% surcharge onto the bill for service. As I've said the service wasn't particularly great although it was friendly. We probably still would have left a small tip but certainly not over 10%. Tips are supposed to be a reward for doing a good job, not as seems to be all too often a way to allow employers to top up wages which are on their own too low.

Unfortunately every other 1 star review sums this place up perfectly. We had an early booking at 6pm when it wasn't busy so we could be finished early, 2.5 hours later we were begging for the bill. Food was below average, service was laughably slow, and zero apologies given for anything. NB: I find it hilarious that of all the terrible reviews the only one the owner has responded to is to call a customer a liar for saying there was no red wine.

Awful experience. We went in at 7ish on a Friday for something to eat before going to the theatre. After being seated, it was about 10-15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. We all just ordered a main and a drink as we had time constraints. The drinks arrived quickly enough, and we then had to wait 45 minutes before we got our food (this is after asking three times where it was and being told it wouldn't be long). I ordered the fried chicken, given it is an American restaurant, I expected a large portion. What I got would have been better as a starter. A tiny piece of chicken on a bed of mashed potato. Getting the bill was another great effort with 3 staff members huddled around the till doing a great job of avoiding eye contact with customers. It's a shame really. Jackson & Rye (this restaurants predecessor) was a great place. Martha's is not.

HORRENDOUS! Whilst our waiter did his best to make a miserable situation bearable, it just kept failing to deliver. After we sat down and waited 20 minutes to order our drinks we were told 8/10 items on the menu were not available. When we finally ordered something, after waiting 45 mins, half a dish arrived, as the rest of the ingredients were not available. The manager didn't care, the waiter left mid shift, food was cold, bland and pathetic. Every table around us either complained or walked out. I hope they shut down sooner rather than later.

2 stars just because the food was kinda tasty... even though the portion was ridiculously small. It took 40' to bring over our drinks and almost 1 hour to prepare 3 simple dishes. Staff that weren't working kept getting in an out of the bar to prepare drinks for themselves and the only waiter that was there described the night as 'busy'... and it wasn't even half of the place booked.

Sorry, normalerweise bewerte ich nie mit einem Stern, aber in diesem Fall geht es nicht anders. Wir mussten ewig auf die Bedienung warten, obwohl wenig los war. Um uns dann erklären zu lassen, dass der Großteil der Karte um 20 Uhr bereits aus war. Die interessanten Sachen eigentlich alle. So haben wir uns entschieden , diesen Laden wieder zu verlassen. Echt ärgerlich, die Location sah eigentlich echt nett aus. Zu Speisen und Getränken, kann ich eigentlich nichts sagen

Awful - the worst dining experience I've ever had. Do not go here. Drinks took an hour and a half to arrive, and weren't even what we ordered. Food was tasteless and wasn't the same as what was on the menu. Women's toilet was flooded - my elderly mother tried to use the disabled toilet instead but wasn't allowed. Waiters were clueless and looked bored. They don't pay their staff either, apparently. Wouldn't be surprised if it's closed down soon.

Writing this while leaving the restaurant, haven't eaten a single bite. Waited fairly long to be served a drink, which didn't even all come. The waiter told us his colleague went looking for sparkling water, finally after an hour after asking one of the waiters actually went and checked to find out they were out of said water. Thanks for notifying us by the way if you even checked the first time. So anyways, we sat there for an hour waiting for our food after which what I think was a cook (who were all sitting at the bar rather than cooking which I thought was a bit strange) came towards us telling us there had been a miscommunication. They hadn't started on our food yet, which is actually quite problematic because we are slightly pressed in time considering we have to go to a musical later this evening. We decided to leave because I already read some of the reviews of this place and let's just say it got me worried. Not a single apoligy, overall our experience was very unsatisfactory and all of the other bad reviews have not a single lie in them.

Hi I have been this place and at the beginning all fine. The bartender tried to charge services charge middle of my drink , 2 glasses of wine 13£ , he forced to me to pay 16£ , how come 3 £ service charge one person and I pay straight away all my drinks . I know the rulers , we do not have to pay service charge . After discussing and they stopped forcing . I am not gonna go there . It was not nice that situation. Hope you guys improve your services

Very bad experience. Don't recommend to anyone. One of our meals was missing. Extra items on the bill. Had to split the bill ourself. Rude staff. So the customer service was very bad. No one was around. No one apologized when one of us did not get any food at all. Tried to ask for more water and never got it. When the bill came there were two extra items. Tried to split the bill and the waitress had no clue about what was happening. Had to correct him a couple of times. I do get that mistakes happen. Just one apology would have been nice :( maybe it is not always like this

Horrible place and experience. Service is too slow, waited for a long time to order and then for our drinks to arrive (and it wasn’t busy). At the end the waitress spilled the drink all over my bag and table, she apologized and it was fine, mistakes happen. Ordered a second round, a different waitress brought our drinks and spilled the drink on me AGAIN. Only this time she spilled it all over me, so I was soaked. Would never go back here again, and teach your waitress how to carry a tray.
