The location is superb. Close to central London & other interesting places. There’s a small convenient store just outside the hotel; very useful. The staff didn’t appear very friendly to me. I personally received just basic customer service ( not that it’s a problem but just putting it out there) Id say the double room is a decent size for a night or two nights stay. Not as lavish as the photos online; you get what you pay for. The beds were comfortable though, bathroom ok, kettle provided. The AC was NOISY. It kept making these weird sounds even when it was off. It was hard to sleep. The walls are definitely THIN. You can hear your next door neighbours & noises from outside the corridor, plus street noise. Also, if you think you might need to extend your stay, there’s no discount rate. You have to re- book a room online then go down to the reception to get your card sorted.

Brilliant travelodge. I got 2 nights for £99 including early check in. Amazing location right next to Waterloo Station 5 min walk. And so many good places to eat drink nearby etc. Safe area too. Our room was very quiet we didn't hear anybody coming in late at night and we had a huge room with lots of space. The reception staff were very friendly too. I would definitely return here when I come back to London as I found it very convenient and clean.

Avoid. Front Desk Staff are rude with little to no communication and seem short staffed not knowing what was going on. Arrived and they were testing the Fire Alarm which kept going off. One staff member was trying to track down other staff members and the engineer was left waiting in the queue to be dealt with rather than having a single point of contact. Beds have a plywood upper layer so feel like you are lying on the ground and the pillows feel like mist with no support. Apparently guests aren't trusted with hairdryers in the rooms so you loaned the jet from a model aircraft. The crowning glory was no hot water anywhere. Cold showers the order of the day. I had to improvise with the kettle and the bathroom sink. Just what's needed after a day of travelling and feeling gritty all day. It's fine though the staff were aware and informed us that it was a problem from yesterday and they were waiting for an engineer to come back between 7am and 10am..after we checked out. Asked for a refund of some sort and they offered 20% regardless that it was a deeply unsatisfactory stay. Oh and breakfast your better getting elsewhere as it taste like low level service station fare.

Trust me, it is 5 star service. - Friendly staff - Clean Rooms - Great location - Excellent Customer service inside hotel This is the only Travelodge I will stay in! Everything about it is just brilliant. You can’t fault the staff at all. You also can’t fault the location. You’re down the road from south bank, Westminster, embankment etc. If you don’t want to walk about you’ve got the tube station minutes from the hotel which will get you anywhere you need to be. Don’t hesitate to book here, you will not be disappointed :)

For the price this is a great place to stay. The location is great...easy walking distance to the Southbank centre, Tate Modern and Covent Garden just a bit further but still definitely walkable. The rooms are basic but clean and well maintained. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Only reason for not giving it a 5 is because the heating system in the rooms was broken (but a stand alone heater was provided) and there was a bit of a wait for our family room to be ready when we arrived. I would definitely stay here again though, it's good value and although basic you know what you are getting and we found it a great base for a Christmas trip to London. Would definitely recommend.

A comfortable hotel located a few minutes walk south of Waterloo Station. I had a reasonably sized, comfortable room, very clean. Dealings with the staff were fine, they were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was good. For a budget hotel not bad at all.

Stayed here for work as was close by to an event near Westminster bridge. Location is good and walkable to Waterloo station and the London eye. Had to make two separate bookings due to changing plans and as one was premium I had to change on the second day. Air conditioning didn't work in either room and apparently this is an ongoing problem so had to sleep with the window opening which is never a good thing in central London. Apparently the AC is an ongoing problem and reception didn't know when it would be fixed. On the first morning there was no hot water so it was a cold shower. On reporting this to reception they said they'd turned the boiler back on and reported it to maintenance but they were slow to respond. Colleagues staying on a different floor had the same issue so it clearly affected everyone. First room was OK, second had a really strong smell of bleach. Both were a bit tired and carpets needed replacing. Not a great experience overall and the room cost wasn't cheap. If Travelodge want to charge mainstream prices they need to up their game and provide basic facilities!!

Very basic hotel, but in a good location. Rooms are quite small and simple. Especially the bathrooms are really small. Bed is quite comfortable, but rooms are a noisy: our room turned out to be above a gym and we heard banging and things moving around both early in the morning and late at night. Breakfast is mediocre, the food is dry and there are limited options. The only positive about this hotel is the location. Walking distance from many tourist attractions and Waterloo station.

It’s convenient from Waterloo station, electric scooter and bike hire outside the front door which is great. Room was clean, but strangely smelled like BO… was so tired so put up with it. Window was open to air out but didn’t help. Was pretty small but to be expected for a cheap’ish room. Sounded very noisy - could hear the cleaners and other rooms slamming doors. This was on third floor but expect the same throughout. Bed was quite hard so didn’t sleep well. Overall not the best but it was clean and good enough for a few nights. Might try another hotel next time to compare. Would stay again if I had to with no other options.

This is a great location to a lot of London especially the Waterloo station. However, during our stay they were working on upgrading the hotel, which is fine if your not sleeping!!! I swear they were using the hammer on only one nail at a time, ever heard of a staple gun. Next the noise level at night inside the hotel could get out of hand at 2-3am, or parents with kids running up and down the hallway at 8am. The a/c was out for the whole building and the rooms can get hot even with a window opened and the heater not running. Our first room a week through the lights stopped working so we had to switch rooms, the second room had a lot of mold in the bathroom. I would recommend this hotel for a weekend trip, not worth it to stay longer than that.

Great location. Good service. Breakfast was good. Room was clean, comfy bed. Could benefit from some storage for clothes, only 6 hangers on a rail. No drawers or wardrobe. Would definitely recommend this hotel

For the price paid it was in a great location. Room was good enough and is as you expect from a Travelodge. You have to remember this is not a 4-5 star hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, room and public areas clean. If you just want a room to sleep so you can explore London it is perfect. If you're someone who spends a lot of time in the hotel this may not be for you.

Room was good for a two night stay. There was no hot water on arrival but the water was at room temperature so we braved it. That was fixed by the time I wanted to shower in the morning. Barbora and her colleague were very polite and friendly given the situation. They offered good customer service and quick wit. The night staff were friendly as well. The breakfast offered a good selection and the bar area was a nice place to sit. The price was fair. This hotel is right by Waterloo Station so it was a perfect location.

Hotel is in a good location. If like us you’re unfortunate enough to stay near the entrance to the floor, do not expect to sleep. Being an old building, there’s no sound proofing between floors, and big gaps under the doors. Cleanliness was also shocking, a big clump of hair was left in our shower. Definitely would not recommend!

Great Hotel, the location is fantastic, reasonable price and the staff are so friendly and helpful, we stayed over the weekend for 2 nights and would definitely return. Carpets in the room could do with a freshen up or replacing because of stains but didn’t let that effect our stay. The staff who work there really deserve some credit!

I've been a long term guest of this hotel for over a year now, staying here 4 nights a week every week and the desk staff are incredibly welcoming, remembering my name and preferences. Rooms are always clean! And Wendy is a ray of sunshine in the morning at breakfast. Truly the whole team make what could be an arduous stay a little more pleasurable and I feel like I'm staying with friends.

The Good: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The check-in was easy and fast. I loved the location, less than 10min walk to Waterloo station, bus routes along Waterloo road, mini market near by and a street with bars and cafe 5min away. You can have as many coffees from the bar. You can top up your supplies (towels, coffee tea etc) whenever. The room power works consistently mean you can keep the a/c working when you're not there. The Bad: The hotel needs a renovation badly! Stains on the carpets everywhere, from the corridors to the rooms. Many things not working, like the fan in the shower, the usb ports at the desk and the worst of all was that there is only the thick curtains in the rooms, meaning if you want some natural light, the neighbouring building (only a few meter away) can see straight in your room.

Room cleanliness was average. Air Conditioning not working. 1x lift not working. Parts of breakfast were not available and they couldn't provide a simple glass of orange juice. The staff were nice and polite, but couldn't provide a receipt for my stay - the printer was not working! Failed to email after. I wouldn't recommend it - not worth the money

We spent 3 nights in Travelodge Waterloo and give it top marks. Staff were lovely and helpful. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We had breakfast one morning and were absolutely stuffed by the end of it. Location was also good as short walk to tube, buses and great sight seeing spots.

Staff mostly helpful. Room heating not working. When asked electric heater brought to room and also an extra duvet as requested. Almost comical situation vat the bar. Manager eventually involved and resolved it quickly but it took ages up to that point. Drinks good value though.

Good location, excellent staff and customer service. Room bit run down, smelt really odd from the bathroom, remote and kettle partly working. Hole in duvet cover, but it was clean and bed was very comfy.

An average cheap chain hotel in general. OK location not too far from Waterloo. HOWEVER, on this occasion: - the aircon/heating was out for the whole building. Nothing was said, just a bar heater left in room and standby light flashing on aircon unit continuously (very annoying!) - towels and bedding smelt truly disgusting, as if they had been washed with no detergent and left damp too long - no iron available. I requested one, which didn't work. They gave me another, it also didn't work. On the bright side, staff were friendly and helpful. Work booked the hotel - I will request they book elsewhere next time.

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This website will compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely will love it I'm sure! Excellent location, we stayed here for two nights for two shows. Great location for Wicked only a short tube away and Cinderella in Convent Garden was also a convenient tube away. Close to tube station. Such a lovely room; very clean modern and amazing view. Staff were very friendly epically Hayden on the Bar. Very good hotel bar. Thankyou for a fantastic stay; we shall definitely stay again.

On the first look the hotel seems very nice, but the room was not very clean, the heater was broken, the window was broken and the soap empty. But the bed is very comfy. Our bedcover got dirty by our luggage so we pulled it off the next morning and hang the service sign out, that the staff could change it. When we came back in the evening they changed the towels and ter but left the dirty laundry on the ground and didnt gave us a new bedcovercase. As we complained the answer was „no we don‘t do that“, she gave us a cover and we had to make it ourself. For a 3-Star hotel for 160 Pound a night very poorly. The toilets on the main ground next to the bar and restaurant were absolutely ridicoulus - one was broken, the other dirty af. The toiletseat was broken. The breakfast was delicious, the selection very great. The staff wasn‘t able to clean as it should be normally so the buffet was a little dirty. The staff was very friendly at any time.

room was clean and not awfully expensive for the location, one reception was kinda rude & passive aggressive. other staff were kinder though. air con was broken which they only told us on arrival but dod give us a fan. pizza was delicious & they forgot about our ice cream so we waited ages but it was also good. breakfast had decent options & was tasty. room cards declined about 3 times unfortunately. it was good enough to be comfortable and feel secure

Wishing we paid more for a nicer hotel because the savings were not worth it. This hotel has a moisture issue so keep an eye out for mold in the bathrooms. I knew I should have taken a picture but I was struggling with jet lag. Extra star for good location and the service was nice.

Location is very good being a 5 minute walk from Waterloo station. Unfortunately the reviews around cleanliness are true and I was shocked to find my first room looking like it had not seen a duster or hoover in a very long time. I ended up changing rooms, the second room was marginally better but again the floor was messy. The room facilities were basic but I don't expect anything more from Travelodge. Breakfast was good and there was a good choice in options. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay again as I think there are better options for the price paid.

This review is relative to the price for the stay. The staff were very good! The room was good for the pricing. The location is probably unbeatable for the price. You’re close to everything and if you need to get somewhere, the Waterloo station is right there. Tesco and Sainsbury is a 4 min walk and they’re open 24 hrs so you can get what you need. So 1) location is great! 2) staff are great! 3) room is good! The place is a bit older. The hallway to our room had a smell but the room itself did not! Water is hot, toilets worked. There’s a diner within the hotel that’s reasonably priced. Plus a lot of restaurants walking distance. So there.

The front of house staff here are amazing! They did all that they could to fix the issues in my room and keep me up to date with progress. However, the list of issues with the room was long: broken air conditioning, lamp and soap dispenser, lack of ironing board, stained carpets and overall cleanliness a little lacking. If only the rooms were as polished as the reception and bar team I would consider staying here again.

  • 4/5 James G. 1 year ago on Google
Great location for a reasonable price. Close to tube station and a short walk into other popular areas. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean, was missing a few things (tv remote / hair dryer) but reception were happy to assist. Would stay again.

Really great stay in this hotel. Room was clean and tidy on arrival. Nice reception and bar area. No issues with noise from other areas of hotel. Shower was fantastic! For 63 pound a night in London, I would certainly use again.

The staff were amazing especially Lovey Wendy who was brilliant with my son who has Autism and the two guys who were on in the evening. They made sure his food was in separate pots and gave him so much love while we stayed. The food is amazing, always tastes great and they are happy to accommodate you. The place is really clean and felt like it was a home from home with the added staff to give you help! I am a wheelchair user and the one issue we did have was that we couldn’t have a disability family room, however there is room for this looking at a disabled room my daughter stayed in. There is more then enough room for an extra bed and for a wheelchair to have the space to move! Disabled people have families too so to have this would make the stay excellent. The disabled rooms mirror was to heigh for a wheel chair user to see into it, which was a little silly so I wonder how many disabled wheelchair users they have had. I was placed into a normal room so didn’t have an accessible shower. I couldn’t get down the corridor in the morning in my chair as the cleaning trollers were all out so caused a blockage, It would have been nice to have had my family (3 rooms) on one floor not 2 (1st and 8th) to avoid the running up and down in the lift. It’s these small details which if looked at would change our next visit as we will return.

Staff were really nice and professional, super helpful too. Easy to find if you are familiar with the area. Room was immaculate and we'll equipped. Nothing truly remarkable but great for a travel lodge.

This was the first hotel we stayed in for a 2 week long trip. We stayed for four days and were going a little crazy towards the end and were ready for our next, hopefully nicer hotel. However, now that the trip is over, I think this was the nicest, and least expensive hotel we stayed in the whole time. The room was a nice size with a desk and area to hang clothes. The shower was the only shower we had the entire trip that had a curtain/door (??). The location was walkable to the train station and plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. The hotel lobby even had a nice area to sit and work. If you are staying for 1-3 nights, this hotel is perfect. Any longer than that, make sure you are taking advantage of room service to get the bed remade and towels turned over. I was working from the hotel room so it wasn't convenient for me, but I bet my stay would have been even better if it was!

Staff at main desk in the evening were unpleasant and felt uncomfortable asking for assistance with my key. Morning check out staff were pleasant and efficient. Rooms were ok but worn. No radiator other than a plug in electric heater.
