Another amazing experience! We had to call the day before to make reservations. They have only 3 tables for 4 per table, plus counter space so can't take too many customers in one go. They take their last orders at 9.30 and close at 10. The chef used to work at the British embassy in Tokyo, thus the photo of the queen. And there were signatures of 2 famous people who ate there (can't remember who now). But beware, once you eat here you would've raised the bar for future Japanese meals and they would all be mediocre compared to this amazing place! Our food took some time to come but they had warned us, and the wait was worth every minute.

100% authentic Japanese cooking from a husband and wife team, who are, of course, Japanese. Cozy and without unnecessary pretences, 9 out of 10 guests are from Japan, the rest are referrals from the core 9. No random visitors, which is fantastic. Some may say it is pricey and i may want to agree. Yet, how much extra you are willing to take in, if you have a flavour of Tokyo in London? It is up to you, the experience, the ambience of the place is totally unique. And uplifting! Arigato, Saito-san!!!

Fantastic authentic family-run Japanese restaurant. Very friendly staff and needless to say very high quality food, not those you get from other so-called Japanese restaurants. Highly recommend.

Very quirky, quaint tiny Japanese restaurant. Very 80s with a vintage feel. Some dishes are very authentic but sushi and sashimi extremely over priced for the quality which is average. Portiion is small. Menu is big. I like the nostalgic feel of the restaurant but order carefully. Not all dishes are great.

Worst service ever - waitress was rude, ignored me and treated me as if I wasn’t a paying customer. I ordered take away and food took 45 minutes to make. Food is overpriced for the quality. I ordered 3 kinds of rolls and only got one sachet of soy sauce, which wasn’t enough. Salmon Onigiri has very little Salmon in it. Rolls were average.

Wonderfully authentic Japanese food. The deep skewers are amazing, especially the stuffed mushrooms. Staff and very friendly and prices are reasonable. It felt exactly like a small restaurant in the suburbs of Tokyo.

The best Japanese restaurant in town. Come here if you are tired of how most Japanese restaurants feel obligated to go for an upscale, modern vibe. This is down-to-earth, friendly and extremely tasty Japanese cooking. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, if often very busy. Space is at a premium, but this really is a slice of Japan in London. The deep-fried skewers are excellent, as are the multitude of daily specials that are written up on the walls. I personally haven't tried the sushi, but it looks very good as well. I can't recommend this place enough.

It is a family run restaurant serving authentic izakaya style food. The owners are very nice and are always around. Small plates on the menu are highly recommended to try. You will need to book a table though as it could get really busy and the restaurant is small. It is a small red gem in Earls Court!

This is the one restaurant I could come back again and again without getting bored of their menu. I really hope they survive these times. They specialise in fried kushikatsu (bread crumbed meat, fish and vegetables on sticks), as well as many other grilled fish, meat and rice/noodle dishes you would not see at other Japanese restaurants in London. Having lived in Japan for 7 years, I can confirm it has the authentic feel of an izakaya (high end gastropub), a little short on space in the restaurant but incredibly delicious. I am not sure if they have a takeaway menu (I am writing a review during the pandemic but went a few months before lockdown). If you like Eat Tokyo, then this is a step above that and more familiar.
