If you have just moved to Walthamstow, do not register with this surgery. While I had good experiences with its doctors, the receptionists are horrific to deal with. I moved out of the area a year ago, and I'm still having problems with them now not transferring my information, or removing it from hospital records. I've had my worst experiences with the NHS in this GP surgery, and it really pains me to say that - but it needs shutting down, and a serious overhaul.

While the doctors are good, the website is super complicated to use and trying to find where the e-consult functionality is is impossible. Beside this, the reception and blood testing team are incredibly rude and lack of patient care skills or even just human kindness. Quite shocking when they are facing patients who most likely would be in a vulnerable state being unwell. Zero people skills or bedside manners. I would love to sit in their job interviews!

I have finally left this awful excuse for a GP surgery. Originally joined in the 1990s. Dr Kawar was an amazing GP and very well respected and with good reason. Even after his retirement the surgery was satisfactory for a good while but when the decline started it was rapid with no looking back. Fast forward today and this surgery is unrecognisable. Most of the staff including the GPs are just above useless or simply do not care. They are frequently rude, abrupt and extremely patronising. I do not include the wonderful and professional Bridgette in this review. All of my recent experiences have been very frustrating at best. Unlike other surgeries they do not load any information onto the NHS app. Every request involves the filling out of long clumsy forms. Even if you get through to reception the majority of the time you are informed to either go online to process your request or your sent a text message. This surgery does everything in it's power to make the most straight forward request long winded. I've complained so many times over the years but nothing changes. At best I've received insincere apologies at worse defensiveness. I would give less than 1 star if it was possible. It is unfortunate that patients have to remain with them because of the chronic shortage of choice in the area. Which is shame because patients are treated as pests not human beings. Very poor show.

The worst GP service I have ever experienced. Impossible to get appointments, regularly forget to write prescriptions correctly, impossible to see a nurse for regular treatment. Appalling management and organisation, I expect they have actually caused the death of some patients.

staff appear to receive no training, so don’t expect anyone helpful (if you’re able to speak to anyone of course!). phone wait times at least 20mins and you’re told “staff are on lunch so you’ll have to call back” before being hung up on. Dr quality also questionable and no respect for patient privacy. had drs googling the answer in front of me. Seems evident it’s being purposely run into the ground so easier argument to close permanently rather than invest. Endangering lives

AVOID! This is without question the worst gp clinic I ever met in London. They have a very long waiting period, the doctors are really unprofessional and the incredibly rude and useless receptionists, when I asked about my test result the answer was and I quote "there are too many numbers on this test result, l'm afraid l can't help", unbelievable isn't it? It deserves the star reviews and l wonder if anyone is ever reading this and trying to do something about it, being so many complains about this gp centre and can't see any improvement!!!

The worst GP practice ever. Never encountered anything like this. Disorganization to the maximum. (why is so difficult for them i don't know - since the registration process to anything to do with prescription all are outdated - nothing works as it should be, the staff never knows how to deal with the situations - they don't update your health file as they should - they had me as pregnant even though I have registered with them when I already had my baby). I had such a bad experience with this practice and unfortunately this is very concerning as they dealing with a lot of people health. I could enumerated all the unprofessional things they do, but it is really a waste of time, because no improvements are to happen. But today I reach my limit when my daughter is sick on antibiotics and the pharmacist did not gave us the right dose to complete at least 5 days of the antibiotic. I have called the practice explaining the situation immediately the receptionist was trying to rush me out to call 111. I have insisted and she could find an appointment for the doctor to give me a call. The doctor called us and i explained that I did not have enough antibiotic to do the 5 days and as my surprise the doctor says that is fine to not finish the antibiotic and that my daughter will be ok. Which doctor on earth says that is ok to not finish the antibiotic specially when the patient is a 1 year old? Appalling service.

If I could pick 0 stars I would. I called in as I had a virus but didn’t know which one, they first told me to send in pictures and info about the virus and my condition. Then told me that i will get a response within 48hrs. As my condition got worse throughout the days I was waiting I called a different doctor to help as inevitably knew they weren’t going to respond. Its been 4 weeks still no response…… Absolute garbage of a chemist. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone trying to get any sort of help. I don’t know what the staff is doing there but all of them should be fired. Absolute waste of space and time.

Consistently awful service. They are clearly underfunded / understaffed and while can't fault them for that, the staff who do work there are always extremely difficult to speak with, and appointments are rushed, verging on negligible. Very poor with young children too - several bad experiences with our daughter and would advise persons to look elsewhere if they can. The place is a mess too.

On Monday 31 October I attended my appointment for a routine blood test. I had to wait 3 weeks to get a slot for this via swiftqueue! On 2 November I was pleased to receive a text from the surgery inviting me to phone in after 2.30pm. I did so. No queue position was indicated whilst I was waiting to be answered. I was merely left holding on for 7 minutes & listening to music. Then Rosina answered my call & told me I would have to wait another 3 weeks to discuss my results with a GP! So a wait in total of 6 weeks! This is not good enough! Despite being so busy I note the surgery are still taking on new patients.

Absolutely dreadful. I am forced to select one star in order to make this review but please know this is a ZERO STAR review. Every time I call this place there is a new arbitrary "rule" about booking appointments. You can now ONLY make appointments via the online consultation form via the world's most complicated and disorganised webpage between the hours of 8-10am. I think the aim is that they make booking an appointment so unbelievably difficult in the hope that you just give up. And hey as far as a policy goes it's working, I absolutely never ever ever want to have to deal with this practice again.

Absolutely outrageous treatment of patients. Probably the Covid restrictions will last be the end of the World and one day more.At reception is working more women than at A&E in hospital but probably no doctors at all.

Truly appalling telephone service! Don't think of trying to book an appointment by phone unless you have an hour to spare. Reception staff are less than helpful, adding to the poor overall service.

Can never get through, and they require you to fill out an online consultation form before calling. It is nigh on impossible to locate this form on their very cluttered mess of a website. Please redesign the website, and hire an extra receptionist. The one time I have had an appointment (pre-covid) it was okay. I did feel rushed, but I imagine that might be because they are (still) heavily oversubscribed.

Nowhere has the lack of NHS funding ever been more apparent than here. This is the saddest place I've ever been to, absolutely falling apart - terrible conditions for staff and patients to be working in. The lady who took my blood there the other day was an angel, but it doesn't bump up my star rating simply because the place is in SUCH disarray. During the blood test I had to take my coat and bag off, and the only place to leave them was in the literal piles of dust on the floor which were mostly created by the plaster crumbling off the walls! Made me feel unsafe having blood taken in such an unclean space, and I'm not that fussed about cleanliness in general. I honestly thought it was an abandoned building when I arrived, the signage around most sides of the building is terrible. I really hope that whatever government we have next, they actually FUND the bloody healthcare system, it is a disgrace.

Admittedly it can be hard to get through sometimes (its. small surgery that services a huge amount of people, so no surprise) but the call back service has made this much easier. I find both the support staff and the doctors great. I always feel listened too, and that appointments are thorough, treatments offered thoughtl, and not rushed - I leave feeling properly taken care of which I think is the most important thing.

I had my blood tested and was received by a nurse, a very nice girl. Unfortunately I don't know her name. I have very thin veins, because of large needles my arm hurts, the bruises are large and do not go away for a long time. I asked her to be careful with me, she used the smallest needle, everything was painless! That's why I gave it a high rating! If only there were more people like her in medical institutions

They can never be reached, I can't make an appointment, I tried hard but my daughter has been coughing for a week and no matter what I did, it didn't get better. He needs to see a doctor but there is no one to contact him.

Worst of the worst. Calling for an emergency scan. They telling you they are on their lunchtime. Call them again after 1hr. They transferred me to another line. And the line keep on ringing. Not a soul to pick up the phone. Its the 3rd weeks now that am dragging my illness as if my health doesn't matter to these people. Why am i paying the NHS for??? To be treated like a bag of rubbish. Just fed up with UK health care. They just dont give a flying duck.

I asked for a hunger pang for sciatica from 19/10/23-26/10/23, I did it on 24/10/23, I didn't get it on 26/10/23, I called the GP and it was said that it would be ready on 10/26/23 in the afternoon, when I found that I did not receive any notification, I personally went to the GP on Friday 10/27/23 to solve it, this receptionist tells me that it will be ready on 10/27/23 evening, Today is 30/10/23 and I still don't have that note, I called now at 17:30 gp and I am told that it will be ready on 01/11/23, Wednesday. This means that I will lose a week without being paid. when in the message when I made the application it came up that it takes 48 hours not 144 hours, shame on you

Beside the fact that the number has changed several times the new phone system is terrible and never seems to be working. You cannot go to the surgery for an appointment instead its a case of trial and error with the online booking service which they failed to inform the patient that they were moving over too. You get a set of standard responses after a lengthy wait (both in person or on the phone) 1. I'll send you a link 2. There's a fault 3. I'll action that now 4. Call 111

I've had good service here from the reception staff and the doctors I've visited. There can be a wait when calling but it only seems to be an issue in the morning when I guess everyone else is trying. This is the same at every other GP I've been registered at. I really like the online services provided, it saves time trying to get an in person appointment if it's not necessary. I've submitted photos through the e consultation and got a prescription for antibiotics within 48 hours. On another occasion I had an appointment offered to me on the same day as an econsultation. The last appointment I had just this week was very helpful. I was anxious, Dr Khan was lovely, she helped me calm down and was really clear when talking to me about the appointment and next steps. I don't think this surgery deserves the number of bad reviews it has. I think NHS services are overwhelmed and people could have a little more patience when trying to get through on the phone.

Not many people have good things all the time to say about gp surgery’s and gps. Yesterday I became I’ll sweating, dry cough and lost most of my voice. I did an econsult to my gp surgery St James medical centre. Yesterday afternoon gp called me and prescribed me antibiotics and since I’ve took them. I now feel myself again but still need to get more of my voice back. I would like to say thank you St James medical centre for a fantastic service. I’ve never had problems with this surgery.

If I could leave minus I would. St James street clinic withdrew my mother from their medical list without any notification. She is a diabetic and has not received any documentation or invite to come in for tests in over 2 years. Disgusting excuse of a health centre. KNOCK IT DOWN.
