this school is disgusting. for parents, students, and even teachers. they try so hard to be like mossbourne academy, even putting the year 11 students through strict and sheer hell, all for a good ofsted report. they refuse to listen to parents and even the students themselves, and the only time they do is when it benefits them and decreases their complaints. the plates are FILTHY, the food is often inedible and not nearly enough calories for a healthy 11 - 16 year old to eat, they are awfully picky with their rules on accessories and refuse you expressing yourself in pretty much any way. incredibly ableist and refuses to cooperate with neurodivergent young children. you could argue all schools are like this, but i know of better schools with better reports that are SINCERELY empathetic to their students. theres no excuse. i am a student of this school and i cant stand a day of it, neither can almost everybody. do better, colasp. do better, miss arles.

STAY AWAY teachers always leave after fist year. All teachers do is give out detentions for no reason at all. The school is way too small i feel like a lab rat. No phone no money not even any jackets at winter.

this place has such strict rules for a public school. No phones, no money, no hair let loose below the shoulders, no makeup, no died hair. These rules don't benefit students, it limits them from expressing themselves but the school covers it up by saying its "professionalism." Secondary is the transition from a child to a teen to a adult. Being forced to hide yourself is not a good way to educate these kids. Especially when most children live far away and it gets dark at around 4 during the winter times. for children who go on buses or have parents who work until late. phones and money could potentially save them if the time ever comes for it. As a parent, i hate having to wait hours just until my child comes home to call me. Teachers so obviously have favourites but its to the point where its affecting learning. I have been told that my child's history teacher does not answer questions from them even after having their hand up for a long time. Students have also commented on social media that they left lesson without having their questions answered simply because their teacher refuses to acknowledge them. An event where a pigeon flew into the canteen happened a few days ago and the way it was handled was absolutely unacceptable. While everyone was eating, some staff decided it was a good idea to provoke it and hit it, which caused the pigeon to fly around everywhere with its visible feathers being scattered throughout. After some children lined up again to eat food as they couldn't eat anything, i've heard that as soon as the pigeon flew out, they told the children to go to the dining room, not even the cafe bar directly outside it to eat. Not disinfecting tables, cutlery or anything. And they proceeded to let the year 10s and 11s in to eat their food merely 2 minutes after letting the year 9s and 8s in the canteen? It doesn't make sense. The year 11s or 10s weren't informed nor were we, the parents.

This is a bad school. The cover services take really long to get to you, the school won't actually help children with disabilities but they say that they will, the food is bad, for example the pizza they serve is cold. They force you to stay to do more studying for an extra hour on Tuesdays and later it will be wednesdays aswell. When you do PE, if you want to wear underarmour it has to be royal blue. They will give you a 2 hour detention if you don't put your bag on both shoulders. If you are feeling unwell they will make you drink water and won't do anything about it. This school is a really bad place.

The worst thing I saw was about this school seeing my son doing PE in the rainy wethers shivering for 1 hours at winter every week. My son has asthma now. I am not agains the PE lessons. But I am agains the authorities that do not wish to cooperate with mums opinions. My son was bullied several times. They discovered my sons second language is English after a year nearly.. The headteacher acts like a Queen. It is impossible to talk to her. She gave my son the first day detention because he looked at his back. We had very scary experiments sadly. After lockdown we moved our son to another school. After primary our children deserves a worm well come. But our experience was not as we have imagined. Children motivation cannot increase with detentions constantly. Learning should be made enjoyable.

While some of the teachers are really amazing at this school, most of them that are more higher in power, abuse their status just because they think they are better. For starters, they talk about rules that dont even make sense. They say no physical contact and I can understand that they dont want fights to happen but i never knew that included things like a hug too. A hug can't kill someone so I dont see what that has to do with the rule of physical contact, where you are not allowed to PHYSICALLY hurt someone. Also, the rule on tying your hair back when it is below shoulder length. I know of someone who was shouted at by a teacher just because her hair was slightly past shoulder length but barley noticeable. Sometimes it just seems like some teachers pick on others more. On top of that, the food is absolutely disgusting. The jugs have some sort of limescale on it and they expect us to act like its not a probem and drink from it. The knifes, forks, and plates are covered in food marks, and most of the time, the food isnt even cooked and seasoned properly. There have been some occassions where I have cut the chicken, and have seen it red inside. Furthermore, this place feels like a prison where you cant do anything that can show people who you are. Accessories of any kind are banned which limits the amount of freedom we have on expressing ourselves. This school has such a fixed idea on how you should look and how you should behave. Dying your hair isnt allowed They expect everyone to be like adults and be 'professional' when in reality we are all just 11-16 year olds with lots of energy. Even things like deodorant and perfumes aren't allowed and most people have PE in the mornings so they end up walking around the school stinking of sweat, something that doesn't seem 'PROFESSIONAL'. Additionally, a serious matter has gone around the school where a teacher has said the n-word during a BHM lesson. I was disgusted when I first heard of this, but not many knew who the teacher was except those in that lesson. The fact that this is going around is unacceptabe, rumour or not. To add on, it is never clear on what could happen outside on the streets- especially for those who live far away from the school. Having a phone on you could help to save your life or even someone elses. Yet it seems like this academy has again percieved its own judgment on this topic better than anyone elses. I can uderstand that they don't want the students to be using their phones in school and spending more time on that than study, but I'm sure some system can be put in place for these phones just how the academy enjoys doing half of the time. Lastly, this school makes false promises to parents and students. After the first lockdown, students were told if they had finished the most lockdown books, then they could go to Thorpe Park. That hasn't happned. The headteacher said that we 'will be impressed by the outstanding educational experiences we can offer'. Yet all they do is give out detentions left and right. To summarise, this school is beyond disgusting. They might boast on how amazing their Yr 11s GCSE results will be but that doesnt change the fact that lots of young children are literally suffering in these walls.

I genuinely wish there was a way to give 0 stars because this school is absolutely atrocious. How they got Ofsted to give them a a good is beyond me. As stated in the other reviews the teachers are horrible to the students and they have absurd policies as well as morals. But the real issue is the how the school is abysmal. Today, I was informed that a pigeon flew into the canteen. How do the staff members even allow that to happen. Apparently, they even forced the Year 7's to eat whilst it was in there and I'll bet you that they didn't even inform the parents. Keep in mind this bird was predominantly around the window area, which is very far from the kitchen. Which says a lot. The food clearly isn't what lured it in there, that's for sure. And I understand that the menu choices aren't the dinner ladies fault, because I'm sure they would've chosen to make good food if they were allowed, but pls put some effort into it and give a bit of lenience when making the menu because it is children eating it, for crying out loud.

A terrible school the head teacher just sits back in her office drinks tea/coffee all day and when she feels like it does something useful then she treats the students like slaves teachers often give detentions for unjustified reasons and students are absoloutely cruel the teachers choose what they want to and dont want to acknowledge. Do better.

If you want to poison your kids this is just the school for you firstly the don't clean their plates and cutlery secondly they have strict rules that are kinda hard to follow for instance if you want to do a hand shake with your friends you can get an hour detention easily and lastly the food... and don't get me started on that. (it should deserve 0 stars but at least i'm being generous just saying.)

The teachers at the school are absoloutely obnoxious and ego centric. my child was given a 2 hour for an apparent water fight however previous students were only given 1 hours and some even not sanctioned.

At this school I have experienced segregation at lunch and break times for many years due to the fact that I am vegetarian. On the assigned lunch table that has been in the corner of the canteen. I had felt extremely lonely and socially deprived not being able to spend some of my only free time outside of silent lesson with my friends. instead I sat with people I did not get along with in silence.

As a parent I am glad that students are speaking about their awful experiences. As a fair warning to other prospective parents , for the happiness of your child, go elsewhere.

My son (year 9 bi) has been going to ColaS for 2 years now and my other son is joining them in September. I am very happy with the school so far. Most of the staff that I have met, were great and welcoming. Ms Cherrelle Simon is on another level, she is professional, friendly and helpful. She is truly a credit to ColaS, she always make you feel at ease and assist you as much as possible. Also Ms Nazneen Ussen have been very supportive and helpful. All in all, thus far I will definitely recommend this school to everyone. The Principal is a proactive, enthusiastic and supportive individual who I believe will take this school very far

😠 I went there a couple years ago and I am still appalled by my experience as a year 12 student. I explained to them that I was retaking my first year because I was bullied at my last school, which led me to have severe social anxiety. This made it very difficult for me to feel comfortable during less...

😠 I’ll be very very frank .The students are stressed out as well as the teachers , too many teachers are leaving .They care more about the academics of a child rather than their ability to cope in class /mental state .
