Great environment, great pub vibe, great staff, great food. You'd never know your in a strip mall in HB. Once your in the door it could be a small pub in any town. Went for lunch on Saturday and place was full, but could still get a seat at the bar. Coming back for sure.

Our meals came cold and our appetizer as well. Drinks were good but that was about it. My husband told the waitress he couldn't eat his Ruben because it wasn't good and was tough, dry and not chewable. She didnt do anything about it. Didn't offer a new one or to get him something else or anything! Also, they weren't that busy and we kept loosing her and had empty drinks. When we got the bill finally she just said sorry heres the bill. Super sad because we have been here before but after tonight I don't know if were coming back.

Great local dive bar with surprisingly good food. We enjoy going there to watch a game or get together with friends. They have wall-to-wall tvs, and really good food specials. The burger special on Saturday afternoons is great, as well as the prime rib on the weekends.

Visiting California for a week and decided to check this place out. Friends have been recommending this place for years. Plenty of TVs to watch the Thursday night football game !! I was greeted right by a very friendly energetic girl. Place was full but she said she would get me a Seat as soon as possible. Took my drink order while I waited. Got a seat at a high top after 5 min or so. The same server came over and introduced herself as Michelle. Told me about the specials right off the bat and said she would be right back. I decided to go with the Mary Mac Cobb and chicken tacos. Homemade ranch. It was fantastic. Great service , great drinks even better food. I will definitely be back on my next trip out !

Not sure who's more friendly at this bar, the employees or the customers. Very friendly, actually I'd even go as far as to say it's a very cool atmosphere at O'Connell's! A diamond of a Sports Pub/Grill hidden well, cornered in a small strip mall, deep in HB residential area,..so deep its ALMOST Fountain Valley, which makes it great for access to the 405!

Chill as hell place to plant your butt and enjoy a game. Had a couple of ladies tell me to get the burger here, so I figured I'd put the money where my mouth is and get their namesake O'Connell burger... if the only complaint I have about a burger is the raw, too-thick onions....yeah it's a damn good burger. If y'all read these, I'd suggest grilled onions (or a way thinner slice) on top your classic burger. I also went with the half and half side, got 3 big onion rings with fries. They know their stuff! Seems like they get the membrane off the onion, so it's a clean bite, with crispy batter. Your usual fluffy-crispy, not quite steak fries....and the egg was perfect, mix of runny yolk with a creamy over-medium shell. Drinks were ice cold, tasty food, Bartender Jordan and everyone else were friendly on both sides the counter....a perfect hole-in-the-wall that, if you don't know, now you do, and you're behind. Give this place some love. I know I wanna come back and see how the rest of the food is!

Alot of friends come here so I decided to give it a try...ordered a Sam Adams & club sandwich. Husband had Jack & coke & tri-tip sliders. Food was really good. I've been here twice in a week. It's definitely a neighborhood feeling dive bar. I would definitely recommend stopping in.

My husband is a football fan of a specific football team and was told to shut up when rooting for his team. Being that he is the only fan of his team, he is the only one heard when yelling for them. When there are multiple fans for a team it is deafening in the restaurant. The food is great here. The waitress and bartender told him to shut up when rooting for his team and the owner told us he should be in the corner. Rude! The previous owner, Joanie would never have said that to him. As we left my husband gave the waitress a $20 dollar cash tip because he’s not like them. Not one patron in the bar was upset that he was yelling for his team and loved his enthusiasm. Shame on them for not allowing him to be who he is.

They seem to be aways be super busy!! But they always find us a good spot. We come for good bar food and stiff drinks! I LOVE the giant Kobe Hot day and the tri tip special with mashed potatoes!

I stopped by today Sunday 1/14 and the place was packed! I got served by the awesome waitress Lauren. She was very in point and attentive, you can tell she truly cares about great customer service. 10/10! Thanks again Lauren!

We did some work for them involving there T.v's, when we were done it was about Lunchtime. Steak sandwiches were in our mind and the right choice. So Good and so Tender was the Steak at a medium rare while also watching DIRECTV TV. I will definitely go hear again especially for Sunday Football🏈

You would never guess it, but this place is awesome and has cheap food Not just bar food, but steaks, lobster, sandwiche, burgers and great breakfast. Does not hurt at all that they pour great drinks as well. 20+ TVs and a good set of locals. The crowd is probably on the older side, but so am I so no big deal.

Great spot to watch Lakeshow playoffs 2023. Everyone is relaxed and loyal fans, food is fire. Get the wings and burgers, affordable beer on tap and pitchers for big groups

Sunday morning breakfast was an incredible value! I had a breakfast sandwich and my wife had steak and eggs. Everything tasted great and the prices are pre-Covid. Open seating (no wait today / non NFL season) and service was perfect. We don’t drink so we don’t usually think to eat here, but really happy we did. We’ll be back!

It's just the best! You have to try to go and see for yourself. Very friendly atmosphere and watch all sports you could want. Food is great.

Wow 5 perks - Great food, Inflation beating pricing $$$, good parking, freeway close 15 mins away, and ownership, staff, and regulars all helpful. Also, flat screen TV's designed to watch your favorite team and other favorites! 5 stars. Sunday am opens @ 9am with 10-20 people in line ready for a nice Sunday to Enjoy. Lobster item's, chicken fried steak , tri tip recommended. 😋

Very fun place to eat breakfast lunch and dinner! Their orange juice tastes horrible. That's one thing that I love with my breakfast is a glass of OJ. The Pancake house has the best fresh OJ.

It's a bit crowded and kinda cramped, but the sports viewing is great. Had the surf and turf there, and the steak was tender, and the shrimp were seasoned cajun style. Staff and service were excellent with everyone helping where they can from clearing dishes to delivering food. A true team effort that most other restraunts could take a lesson from.

This place is hands down one of the most fun places to watch sports and meet nice people in HB. Food is great too and reasonably priced.

Where do I even begin!! O’Connell’s is my and many others, bar of choice for ANY occasion! Anniversaries, birthdays, football games you name it.. OC’s is always the spot. A hidden gem, great local dive-bar. Great place to watch sports. Drinks and prices are great, food is marginal.

Not my normal scene but I heard the food was good and it didn't disappoint it's a small area that's seems crowded everytime I go but the food is really good for a sports bar.

Good atmosphere to watch NFL Sunday Ticket games. Food is reasonably priced and tastes great. This is a "Patriots" bar; but staff and fellow patrons are all nice and welcoming. Definitely recommend this local bar to watch games.

Super fun! Small and lively. No pool tables no shuffle boards or darts. However this place has an awesome menu selecting with huge portions. Great for the entire family to eat and the adults to get a cocktail.

Potato skins and buffalo tenders🔥🔥🔥🔥 Buuuuut it is too cold inside. They have too many ceiling fans on... which caused my food to get cold within 5-10min of eating.
