My bf and I came here for dinner. We get there and we had the option to sit inside or outside. It was a lovely evening so we decided to sit outside. They had the patio lights which made the ambiance more romantic. The waiter was very sweet and helpful. We order the lobster mashed potato as an appetizer and it had a citrus flavor that blended well with the lobster. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and my bf ordered the pasta with seafood. The Chilean Sea Bass was the star of the night lol. It melted like butter in my mouth. It was cooked to perfection. I paired it with a glass of wine. Delicious! Can't wait to be back.

Took my mother here for Mother's Day. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. Unfortunately the quality of the food is substandard. Low quality meat. Giant indigestible asparagus. I was just not impressed. Where is the chef and management before the food goes to the table? In the restaurant business you are only as good as your last meal. One last thing, plates were dirty (hard to see in the low lighting).

The service was a bit slow, but food was worth waiting 😅 We finished everything so fast that I didn't had a chance to take a picture. I only got one of Crème brûlée we ordered for a dessert. It was good I only wish the top was a bit more crunchier 👀

Definitely worth a 5 star review. Nice ambiance, friendly and efficient service and very good food. My Chilean sea bass was fantastic and the salads were fresh and flavorful. We’ll be back again soon.

THERE IS ONLY 1 NUMBER ONE !!! While there are many hidden GEMs located all over CA, this restaurant is a Hidden TREASURE CHEST of AMAZING FOOD!!! We were welcomed right away as we walked in and received great service throughout our visit. Our server JENNY was very helpful, attentive and made some great recommendations. The owner also visited us a few times to make sure we were enjoying our visit. We started with ULTRA delicious appetizers: First was the very cheesy and Extraordinarily delicious Signature Lobster Bites!!! Highly recommended!!! One of the BEST Appetizers I have EVER had!!! Then we also truly loved their Jumbo Blackened Shrimp which is grilled and blackened to perfection. These KING size shrimp are very delicious!!! Another delicious and freshly made appetizer is their Spicy Crispy Tuna which is served with an artistic flair. And you must try to make room for their ultra delicious French Onion Soup!! Just split it with your partner to make space for this soup… it truly has a very rich delectable flavor! Their Jalapeño Bacon Mac n Cheese was good but not as amazing for me. Too Al Dente for my taste. For salads: Try either the Lobster Cobb salad which was very fresh, flavorful and lite. Their Caesar salad has a very unique flavor too. Our entrees were AMAZING too! Their ULTRA Signature Meal was their Miso Chilean Sea Bass!!! OMG!!! I have tried Chilean Sea Bass from many high end locations through the US and this IS The Best EVER!!! No exaggeration!!! For one it’s ULTRA tender and the MISO glaze takes the flavor to the Moon and Back!!! It’s a Guaranteed Winning Plate…which I must order again and again. Their USDA Prime Filet Mignon was ULTRA tender and just melts in your mouth with every bite. Having a side of their very addicting French fries is a great choice too. Their Baby Back Ribs are very tender and have great flavor too. For dessert, highly recommend their NY CHEESECAKE which is sooooo smooooth and rich in flavor!! Our son’s eyes LIT UP with their very delicious ICE CREAM too!! For great drink choices, the Mamie Taylor or the Hemingway are very refreshing. The Mezcal Old Fashioned is very delicious and unique.

Tried booking for private dining for our holiday party. Their minimums for our party were extremely high for our party size. They said they would be open to working within our budget, but upon sending a follow up email asking them to explain the exorbitant pricing they went dark and never responded for over a week now. Luckily I was able to book with another great steak house near by for thousands of dollars less. All I'm left to assume is that they were never that interested in our business and would rather shop around for higher fees and larger parties. I would consider booking elsewhere for your private event unless you're a party larger than 25.

Last night the team at Davenport's went above and beyond! We were rushing to make our reservation following our daughter's high school graduation - knew we were going to be late, but manager Melissa assured us we were fine. Had a lovely table inside - nicely socially distance with good air flow from the door opening out onto the lovely patio dining area. Our server Danielle was incredibly nice. Could tell we were hungry (3 hours at graduation over dinner time - let's be honest - we were HANGRY) and had drinks and the awesome, warm bread rolls at the ready almost as soon as we sat down. The appetizers, food and ambiance were all lovely. Danielle showered our graduate with congratulations with a fantastic brownie sundae for dessert. And - BONUS - we had a visit from the one and only Carl Davenport. Truly a charming gentleman. You can tell he is proud of his restaurant and staff. My thanks to everyone at Davenport's for making our special night even more special!

Very impressive! Fabulously chic ambience. Staff are polite, friendly, calm demeanor. Service was 1st class. The sushi is out of this world! Amazing flavor and fresh. The stake salad could use improvement; kind if bland. The salmon was OMG!! the best I've EVER had!! Highly recommended. We truly enjoyed our time here.

Without a doubt, five out of five stars. Clean restaurant and well-maintained restrooms, large menu - both food and drinks, and every employee was very helpful and pleasant. The owner and his son, the chef, actually took the time to come talk and see how the food was and they were incredibly nice and conversational. Definitely the BEST sea bass I have ever had in my life - it melts like butter in your mouth! The lobster appetizer is also very tasty and not something you could just order anywhere - the chef has his own spin on the way he prepares it! Absolutely delicious!

Beautiful patio, fantastic food - and very safe & clean during COVID restrictions. This place is perfect for special occasions! Also - was impressed by our waiter’s suggestion for an off-menu drink to compliment dessert (East India Company cocktail with the banana cream pie).

I took my girlfriend to dinner at Davenport's for her birthday. First of all the staff was fantastic, very friendly. We had a couple drinks and she had the NY strip and I had the bone in ribeye. Ordered the steaks medium-rare and they came out to perfection. Not only was the cut of meat fantastic, I was extremely pleased that the steaks were served with sides. Most other steakhouses you would be paying that much for a prime steak by itself let alone with a side! We will be back to visit soon!

Had the best time celebrating a birthday. Fantastic food. Great space. Shannon was so attentive and nice. She knew the menu well and was able to guide us in ordering the perfect meal. She made a great sundae for the bday which perfected the entire experience. Will definitely go back. Thank you.

Wish I could give 3.5. Chose this spot to celebrate my 30th birthday as I drive by all the time and heard great things from friends and the reviews but couldn’t help feeling disappointed. We sat outside at a wobbly table and the overhead light was out. Mentioned these issues as we sat down but they were ignored. We ate at 7:15pm on a Thursday and they were already out of oysters, multiple entrees, but worst of all they were out of bread. 2 things I wanted I couldn’t order. The lobster appetizer was tasty but was not fresh and very chewy. I had the Chimichurri steak which tasted great but pitiful in size. The one memorable item was the brownie sundae which was amazing. I forget our servers name but she was fantastic and attentive. However for the high prices the issues are hard to overlook and I doubt I will be back with so many other great local options.

My family and I had a very disappointing experience at Davenport's last night. I'll start by saying this is my father's favorite restaurant and he asks to go to Davenport's every year on his birthday, as well as other times during the year. He and my mother have been regular patrons for as long as I can remember. Last night we were celebrating his 87th birthday and he specifically asked for the wine room because he is has significant loss of hearing and told me it was always very quiet. Not anymore! Atmosphere: There was a party of 15+ people who were uncomfortably loud. This made other people at other tables speak louder as well. There was an caustic laugher every few minutes at one table and so on. I had to physically plug my ears during the entire dinner and even then I could clearly hear full conversations from every other table. I have terrible tinnitus and can't be exposed to high decibels or it gets worse. Once it's worse, it never gets better and sounds like a high pitched drill in my ear 24/7. Today, even through ear plugging for 2 hours, my tinnitus is significantly worse and my ear aches. I explained this to the wait staff who apologized but offered no solution. Even the owner looked at me quizzically but didn't check in or offer a solution. My decibel meter recorded the sound jumping between 90 and 100 decibels, just 10 decibels shy of a rock concert and 15 decibels over hearing damage (which is above 85). The Food: The food was incredibly disappointing. I have been to Davenports several times before and the food was quite good, however this was my first time as a vegan. Almost every high-end restaurant I have been to as a vegan has had amazing options, not Davenports. They had one vegan option on the menu and it was just okay. Pasta with red sauce and impossible burger meat for almost $40. I really expected more, from the options and the dish itself. My mother couldn't even finish her lobster roll (without the roll) because she didn't like it and she's not a picky eater. For a meal that costs several hundred dollars for 3 people, I expect better. And to top off the night, we had to leave early because of the excessive noise, and they didn't bring his birthday cake. We would have left even earlier but I had a very hard time getting a staff person's attention. I wish I didn't have to write this negative review but it's important for anyone with hearing sensitivity, or tinnitus as well as vegans and vegetarians to know what they will and won't find at Davenports. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because my father liked his short ribs and the staff and servers were extremely nice and incredibly hard workers.

First time here won’t be the last. Beautiful restaurant with casual yet elegant decor. The prime ribeye was perfect as was one of the best cheeseburgers. Grilled shrimp and lobster bites appetizers were delicious. Very efficient and very friendly staff made our Christmas Eve dinner amazing.

Went there for the first time with family to celebrate a birthday. All of the appetizers we ordered were great and everyone enjoyed their entree as well. The banana cream pie and ice cream sundae were a great dessert also.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant!!! The food was incredible!!! The wine selection was also equally as amazing. We had a few apps, oysters, a bottle of Cabernet, along with the Ribeye and filet. The steaks were immaculate. Incredibly buttery and melted in our mouths. We did not get the chance to have dessert, but we will most definitely be back!

So if you're not familiar with the area, the parking lot is in the back so don't worry about parking your car in the streets! Right when I walked in the staff was very welcoming. It was my first time here and was very impressed on how it looks inside. The food was amazing. They had a wide variety of seafood and steaks. I personally ordered the Tomahawk pork chop and their signature lobster bites. The next time I visit I'll probably try their sushi and their cocktails. Highly recommend this place to anyone :)

The Davenport in Encino is a wonderful place for nighttime out-door dining. The seating area is visually very warm and inviting. Great place to meet friends. Food and bar are also quite nice.

Really classy nice place. It use to be a little more. There are some interesting crowds hanging out by the bar lately. But, the food is great and you dont have to go over the hill into Beverly Hills to have a nice dinning expereince. You can dress up or casual.

Great looking place. We loved the food and the portions were very generous - none of us could finish their food. Staff was extra courteous and knowledgeable. We'll be back!

Plenty of outdoor seating with a nice ambience. Cute lighting and not alot of traffic noise considering it's location is on Ventura Blvd. Every staff member was extremely courteous and efficient. I suggest avoiding the wine because it is not of the best quality and a $10 bottle goes for $45.

Nice place with a good kitchen. Lights are too dim and we had to use our phone flashes to read a menu :)

This WAS one of our favorite places in the Valley but after sharing our dinner with several tables of screaming kids, we will never be back. I understand we ate early (6:15 on a Saturday night) but a $400 dinner for four is not a Blue Plate Special and we should not have to put up with screaming kids with squeaky toys. BTW, that was the cost with only one bottle of wine, no desserts and only two coffees. It could have been a $500 check easily. I know these are challenging times but I think Davenports must decide what kind of restaurant it wants to be: Denny's or Davenports.
