One of my favorite meals in LA was at this colorful cozy family owned and operated Salvadoran restaurant. The food was authentic and delicious, and the service was excellent. I got the vegan Desayuno and Pupusa Revuelta.

TLDR: Order the vegan pupusas and the pan sin pollo! Loved everything about this place from the many vegan options to the staff ! I told my friend I would go vegan if he could find me a good vegan pupusa and he definitely did. We ordered the plátano (ate to fast to take a pic), pan sin pollo, and both of their vegan pupusas de masa de arroz. Everything was fresh to order and the flavor was immaculate! They make their own vegan crema centroamericana from cashews and it’s to die for ! The non vegan crema has a very dístinct flavor and Mama’s captured it perfectly. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his pan sin pollo and couldn’t get enough of the consomé. I tried the vegan bean & cheese and revuelta pupusa with jack fruit. I was so happy to learn that they made the vegan pupusas out of masa de arroz! The salsa has the perfect consistency and the flavor complimented the pupusas. We washed everything down with a cold cola champagne. We were also offered a vegan Chile verde that wasn’t even on the menu yet! I can’t say enough good about this place. The family that owns and operates the place was extremely friendly and really made us feel at home. They were so kind and willing to answer any questions we had. I was thrilled to learn that the mother of the family had developed many of the recipes we were able to enjoy ! I will definitely be back again and again!

Mama’s Tamales non-GMO blue corn jack fruit, (plant based / vegan) cheese and bean pupusa’s are the best in existence. The café is very, very vegan and allergen friendly, and they don’t shy on the amount they put inside for the feelings. The pupusas are served piping hot (which is how they should be served!) and are accompanied with a perfectly acidic and vinegary side.

Simple tamales, pupusas. Vegan options for everything. Small place, no AC but there is a big fan blowing. Tasty!

My favorite plant based pupusas and tamales. So good you wont even taste the difference if you’re non-vegan because the flavor is 10/10. Very relaxing family atmosphere. Thank you Claudia and fam for doing everything with love!

Wow! Amazing tamales and drinks. The pickled veggies add another layer of flavor that is missing in a lot of cuisines. Also, the black beans are super savory and they spend a day and a half to make them. Vegan and gluten free menu is superb and the best place I have had in LA so far.

The Central America tamales are so good. Can’t go wrong with any. The Mexican tamales are ok . They are missing few tamales that are listed in their menu. Good service . I would go back for the Central America tamales .

Best tamales in LA. This family owned business really takes quality seriously and they also have excellent costumer service. We enjoyed almost all the tamale flavors and several items as well, including the vegan flan and the tacos. Would high recommend!

VEGAN AF!!!! I heard about this place thru a friend, and this place is great, I have been meaning to write a review for this place for a long time. They definitely got a authentic vibe, and appreciate the vegan menu they have, even though they still serve the other stuff. If you are looking for authentic Salvadorian food that is vegan, they got it!

Tamales tasted bad, and had very little filling. Waiter brought meat tamales to vegetarian person. Stomach felt weird after too. The worst part was that they charged twice the price that was on the menu. When I complained about that he pointed to a sign that said they can change the prices at any time, and then I asked why he didn't tell me and he said it's normal for prices to change and that he didn't care. Very rude. Never been to a restaurant where they lie about the prices. Overall one of the worst experiences I've had at any restaurant. Bad food, bad experience, liars, and too expensive.

Absolutely the best food I've had in LA this entire trip!! I cannot rave enough about this cute place!!! First off the people working here are so attentive, friendly and polite ! My experience of LA has been hit or miss with the rude factor. That was not the case here. They are so so so nice !!! Second, the food!!! I've never had Salvadoran before but I'm from Texas so I eat a lot of tamales. This place blew me out of the water. The masa was so light and fluffy, the black beans were insane. INSANE!!! So good! I had tamales, jackfruit papusas, and the breakfast plate (all vegan). Every single thing was perfect. The rice! The beans! The cute side salad! The drink with chimoy in it. The pickled cabbage!! The salsa!!!! You have to go here.

Five stars always. This place is great and supports other local businesses and efforts to keep the neighborhood clean and safe. Claudia knows so much about the menu and is excited to share the vegan options available here. I am always impressed with the Salvadorian food here. Tamales, papusas, and all the delicious spices and vegan cheese you can imagine. Always 5 Stars!
