I had seen this cafe covered for a news story and thought to give it a try. I came in on a weekday afternoon with my wife for lunch. Walked into an empty restaurant and wasn’t sure it was even open. An employee popped out and greeted us and was very friendly. While we examined the menu there were a few people in and out—realized they had the traffic but it was more take away than eat in. We ordered the chicken sandwich and impossible burger, both with fries. The fries and the dipping sauces were DELICIOUS. The chicken sandwich was super good and I was just baffled the entire time that I wasn’t eating actual chicken—you truly couldn’t tell! The burger was good but a bit dry. Buns on both were great. Really pleasantly surprised by the all-vegan menu and the food we ate! Even though we aren’t vegans, glad we gave this place a try and happy this a great option is available to those who are!

Shahar Cafe is a true gem in Louisville. If you love good food, check them out!! The vegan delights they offer are out of this world. The staff is always so helpful and kind. The menu is diverse, but the chick’n sando is my favorite thing there! The fries, sweet potato fries, and mac n cheese are super good as well. The house spicy habanero sauce is yummy and great for dipping fries! Love the option to build a burger too. Vegans everywhere should try Shahar Cafe!

I had the Chicken Sando- it was delicious. My boyfriend had the Chicky Wings- they were also great! The vegan chicken they have here is spot on- and their sauces are phenomenal. A must try! I can’t wait to come back and try more things in the future 😊 We wanted to try the milkshake, but we got there a few hours before closing and they told us they cleaned the blender already. Hopefully next time!

WORDS CAN NOT DESCRIBE HOW GOOD THE FOOD IS!! I was visiting the great state of Kentucky and stumbled across this place when I needed to escape the rain that ruined a hike I had planned. Drove 1.5 hours to try this place on a whim, 3 weeks later and I’m still thinking about it!! 7 years vegan and this is the best vegan food I’ve ever had!!

My husband and I had a first time Shahar meal today. My husband had an Impossible "burger" and fries. The burger was a full five stars and the fries better than 5 star. I had the cheese, sausage, and egg sandwich. Every detail of it's seasoning, preparation, a texture was a complete treat. I loved my oat milk iced latte. The art and the service were lovely and engaging.

Great vegan food! Shahar Cafe is the perfect place to grab lunch and eat outside on a nice day. Our food was ready by the posted pickup time, and it was delicious. Excited to come back! 😊

We stopped in on a road trip from Atlanta to Chicago. Even though it was slightly off the expressway it was definitely worth the trip. The cheesesteak was phenomenal and the loaded tots were amazing. I had to double check with the employee working to make sure everything was vegan because it looked so real and was so delicious. It was so mouthwatering we couldn’t take pictures before we indulged but I would highly recommend this place and the cheesesteak sandwich!

This place is absolutely amazing. The food is fresh and taste great! The owners are very chill and great at what they do. I really enjoyed the pirojki [vegan 6.99], the legend-no-dairy fries [vegan 12.49] yes its worth it!, and ended with the amazing baklava [2.25] and an authentic Turkish coffee [2.50]. Every moment of the experience was great. The chiling is clean and dust free and the restrooms are all inclusive and very well kept! You should give them a try.

We ordered the burger and hot chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was amazing. I loved the flavor and texture. The burger was delicious too. Was hard to pick just two meals so I'll be making a trip back to try something new. Highly recommend!

I had the loaded stack. It was pretty good. Basically fries w impossible meat slapped on with vegan cheese slapped on top of that . The meat couple have been chopped up. The service was slow and was only one person handling the register and making drinks. So he did best he could. The milkshake I got was the captain crunch berry mix with frozen strawberries. Now that was 10/10. The milkshake is pricey. $8.50 for 12oz? I’d return to try other things on the menu.

My kids and I stopped here on a trip to Louisville and I was floored at how delicious the food was! I had the Philly Cheese Steak, my son had the macaroni and cheese, and my daughter had the hamburger helper. My usually picky kids ate everything! The cheese steak was amazing. It was the best vegan meat and cheese I've had. I had to keep reminding myself it was plant based. Can't wait to come back and eat here again!

As a vegan for a few years now, this "chicken" sandwich really freaked me out. I was like yo this is chicken. With that bring said, it's not chicken it's just a really good vegan chicken sandwich, made from seitan. The fries and all the sauces were all delicious. My favorite part that really kept us coming back I think were the delicious milkshakes made w oat milk. I came back a couple times during my brief stay in the area. Different friendly chill service each time. Definitely recommend this place to try for anyone passing through. I'm vegan but omni boyfriend also enjoyed the chicken sandwich and fries! Try the sauces the housemade vegan ranch is 😘😋🤤

We hit this place up on our way home from Mammoth Cave and it was such a lovely experience. The building is cute and hard to miss, and the inside was decorated with earth tones and plants. The cashier was sweet and was playing the perfect music for the restaurant. Our food came out fabulous. The cheese sauce was the best I’ve ever tried! My husband who is an omnivore thought the burger was better than the real thing. Definitely stop here and try it out!

I had the brunch burger and everything about it was (speaking as a person who routinely still eats meat) not just convincing, but delicious. Especially the cheez. Pretty good latte and my dining companion’s “BLT” was also really good. Cheerful space, nice people, great rotation of hip hop softly playing over a good speaker (I can forgive them for the J. Cole tracks). If I lived in town I’d be here twice a month.

The best vegan food place I’ve been to - I got the impossible burger and it was amazing with 10/10 sauce, cheeze, onions, etc and my partner ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and we were taken aback because it tasted so much like actual chicken. Usually fake chicken sandwiches can have a powerful seitan taste but this one didn’t taste like that at all. The fries were delicious as well. 10/10
