Huge roach crawled out of the bathroom when we returned to the hotel. Informed the front desk at checkout and didn’t seem like they wanted to acknowledge or do anything about it and I had a flight to catch.

As we are joining a tour, we have moved to a major hotel as it is part of the tour.We wish we could have stayed at Casa Balthazar instead. Casa Balthazar is tastefully decorated with a mixture of old and new. Great breakfast, interesting area of town with easy access to attractions and shopping. Very quiet once inside the "compound".!Small but crystal clear swimming pool. Great recommendations for restaurants. We loved this place!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Balthazar for our honeymoon and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience at this hotel. The neighborhood is very convenient to restaurants and night life while the hotel is still tucked away on a quiet street for easy sleep at night and relaxation during the day. The staff were excellent, every person we encountered was incredibly kind and helpful. The pool was just the right temperature and lounge chairs comfortable and often shady for a perfect break in the afternoon from exploring the city on foot. We utilized their complimentary spa every day we were there and left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready to continue exploring the city by night. Our room was large with stunning views of the city and the bed was super comfy to boot. We would both highly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for the right place to stay on their trip to Lisbon!

For us, this booking exceeded expectations because of the spacious, unique rooms and excellent linens. We stayed two nights, first and last nights of our week+ trip. Had two different rooms. Used the pool, not the spa, though. We liked the quiet and intimate feel to the place. Yet, each room we stayed in was like an apartment. First one was just a room, nice entry and lots of storage. Second was a suite. Beds so comfortable and rooms were classy, modern twist in decor. During the hottest week in July, we enjoyed the well functioning a/c, the pool, and liked having the honor bar 24/7. Breakfast was ample and classic. Taxi / Ubers need to pick up at the end of the street. Lots to do, see, and walk to from that location, including the touristy but fun and convenient plaza at top of hill. Service was unobtrusive and friendly for us. Highly recommend for high quality, classy stay.

The good: Good location and beautifully designed hotel. We booked this hotel for a specific room that had the most beautiful view of Lisbon. That did not disappoint us. We made use of the spa and the pool which was nice. The sad: We were a bit disappointed with the rest of the service and staff. We arrived to a mediocre welcome and ushered to our room. We asked for some help in making reservations for dinner and were told that they would text us if they were able to make reservations or not. We never received that notice, and I didn't really believe them when they said it. So we handled dinner and the rest of our trip ourselves. And that's fine, however we expected some willingness to help out, make recommendations, etc, for what we paid to stay here. Lastly, upon checking out, we were forced to give up the last of our euros to pay for a mere 25% of the spa bill (rest went on card). We were never told we need to pay in cash and it was very unprofessional to make us do this and still take our card in the end. We've had much better service in Lisbon, in Porto, and elsewhere around the world, at hotels that were not as luxury as this one. Need to do better if you're going to charge $400 a night.

Absolutely wonderful! The rooms are spacious with great views and had everything we needed. The pool in the central courtyard is lovely and a wonderful spot to meet other guests in this boutique hotel. We spent every afternoon at the pool hearing about other peoples adventures and getting advice on how to do a day trip like Sintra (which is a bit complicated when not with a tour group) and which restaurants to try out (go to Rosetta’s). Such a delight! There is also a lovely living room space to read, an honor bar, complementary coffee and tea all day, and a nice breakfast. Warm and professional staff! The location is also great. Located in the middle of the city. Easy to get to a lot of the popular neighborhoods. The train station next door has a great escalator for managing some of the hills. One note is that it can a bit challenging for a taxi or Uber to find it so just make sure to give them the exact address. Uber and taxis are very affordable (compared to the US). An absolute highlight of our trip!

Absolutely one of the best hotels I've stayed in, in a very long time. Extremely private, it's essential it's own compound. Parking within, wonderfully friendly staff. And the rooms are perfect. If you can, the Jacuzzi tub room is outstanding, and the views over the city and castle are to die for. I cannot wait to come back and stay here again.

I picked this place based on reviews and we had an amazing time. Highly recommend. The rooms were a perfect size for 2 people. We had two sinks which is huge, the view was amazing and the jacuzzi on the balcony was an added plus. We were able to check in early and the staff was great. It was in the perfect location to walk everywhere for our first time in Lisbon. The breakfast was great too. It's on a hidden street that feels safe and is nice to come back to at the end of the day away from the hustle and bustle. The only complaint I would ever have is that there is no air condition until they turn it on in maybe April, so the room was a bit warm at night. It was nice to open the windows but around 3 am you hear the hustle and bustle of people going out outside. Besides that I couldnt be happier with my stay!

👍👍 My fiancé and I loved this hotel. First off, Facu, from the front desk was FANTASTIC! Extremely kind and super helpful. When we checked in he showed us a map and showed us all the locations to visit and eat and circled areas to go visit. The room we had was spacious and the bed was very comfortable...

😠 In my trip on Portugal, this was by far the worst condition for staying! I would not recommend those apartments neither to my worst enemies. The space is poor ventilated I had to stay with the windows open , many of them don't work or you do not have curtains for intimacy, the windows are in fact ne...
