Want to thank the lovely folks at Berry's Motel for a safe, clean, comfortable stay. The little kitchen was a nice bonus! The bed was literally THE most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! We won't hesitate to stay again. Very conveniently located. Good for people with sensitivities or allergies if the rooms without carpeting are available.

I just called on behalf of someone to ask about availability and when asked about availability was met with a “NO” and they hung up the phone. I was in the process of saying thanks anyway when I realized they had already hung up. Very abrupt and unprofessional. From reading some of the responses to other reviews I see a lot of unprofessional and passive aggressive remarks which is very unfortunate.

Didn't even manage to book a room at this place. Took several hours of calling before I got an answer, and when someone finally answered he was very rude. When I said I had cats as we are moving cross-country and offered to keep them in their kennels over night he sarcastically said "good luck" and hung up. Blown away by the outright hostile service here, "good luck" running a business with that attitude. Edit: To reply to your response, I didn't complain about the policy, it's a reasonable and common policy. I simply reviewed your rude response and terrible customer service attitude. I had only been calling your hotel for hours because I wanted to support a small business - after you hung up on me it took me less than five minutes to find and book a different pet-friendly hotel in Truro, and let me tell ya the service was infinitely better. As a hot tip, responding to negative reviews by name-calling someone who just wanted to give you business only makes you and your business look worse.

It is an excellent place with a wonderful host, a well equipped room and an amazing room service. It is most certainly a home away from home. I would highly recommend this place, so don't think twice before booking Berry's Motel in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Great location, but a dump. If you can afford it pay the few extra bucks. And stay somewhere better.

I’ve stayed here twice so if you can’t handle a “motel” setting then don’t stay here. Owner and manager are super friendly and I’ve sat and have several conversations with both. Cleanliness was top notch! As well as everyone who works here. Will stay here everytime

Conveniently located around everything you would need. Rooms are clean and spacious. Especially for the price which is more than reasonable.

You could tell immediately that there was attention to detail in this room. We had driven all day and were running late , we called to let them know. Upon arrival the manager was located and the key was obtained immediately. Even the shower looked inviting!! And every store you may need was within walking distance and was just minutes to get back on the highway

Very clean, friendly owner, lots of nice little details often missing in big chains. Convenient location if you are passing through.

Down side furnishings are very sketchy and minimal and generally shabby( but had full size fridge, microwave and keureg in room),really clean, especially linens; and bed comfortable. Quiet, good AC, manager very pleasant, 5 minutes off highway and across from a mall with restaurants ,grocery store etc.

When I told some people that I was staying at Berry’s Motel they gave me a funny look. It turns out they had never been there and had made up their mind. I found a motel that was under renovation but it was a great place to be. The room was amazing, clean, well appointed and a great deal. It was so quiet that I felt like I was the only person there, but that was not the case. Don’t judge a book by its cover! This is a great place to stay. My wife and I stayed for four days and loved every moment.

We friend and I booked a room here and thought this was just going to be a cheap dive motel but were VERY pleasantly surprised to find it newly renovated and very welcoming. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. Full size fridge, hot plate, microwave and kitchen sink in our room, that was awesome! The beds and pillows were absolutely amazing! (I honestly wanted to pack thos pillows in my suitcase and take them home with me 😀😀). Very centrally located airy anything you need within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again!

Owner was very rude upon checkin, seemed very god complex like.. Room was of poor quality and had some odd smells as well as bed bugs they said they were going to spray for & refused to refund for the room after I found them.

From the phone call to book our room we were met with great service and courteous conversation. We had no problem at check in ….as a matter of fact the office personnel went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The ice machine was not working and he personally delivered a bag of ice to us…..the room was very clean …..newly renovated….comfortable and very reasonable priced . We will definitely be staying here again…..

I did not even get to stay here because I cancelled my trip before I even arrived due to the experience I had on the phone with their front desk person. I was trying to book for one of my colleagues (which I often due without hassle), and asked a couple of questions around using corporate credit cards, etc. I was simply asking questions. The person on the other end of the phone said to me, "Do I have to repeat myself for a third time?!" I did not hear him repeat himself even twice, so not sure where that came from. I told him that I was simply asking a question, just trying to understand what my options were, and he hung up on me! I have been traveling with work for many years, and have never had this happen to me! I might have just caught this person having a bad day, but it sure left a bad taste in my mouth. It is unfortunate, because it looks like a pretty good place to stay...I will never know. I booked down the road with a very nice person at the other end of the line.

Quiet and quaint. I stayed at Berry’s for a long term stay. Nice little community with very comfortable beds and pillows!!!

DON'T ASK FOR A LATE CHECK-OUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!! If your looking for a run down, rude filled get away then this is the place for you!!! Why do ppl have to be so mean. Asked for a late check-out and was threatened with a call to the police ..... Never again, and if I were you .... Save yourself the disappointment and find other accomodations...

I didn’t get the chance to even ask about booking a room. I called enquiring about payment methods— and got hung up on and told “that’s a good bye then” all because I said oh okay when the person that answered said they required a credit card at check in.. unfriendly service

Super friendly and helpful. We moved from another province and the owner helped us out. Great staff and an awesome location. We're within walking distance to lots of restaurants and a grocery store.

Berry’s motel is centrally located, where are you can find restaurants within five minutes, shopping, and the Tidal Bore viewing area just a short distance away. We stayed there for three nights, lovely older motel, renovated, comfy and clean rooms. We chose this motel due to the location, the folks are very nice and very helpful. Very clean rooms !

I personally did not get to stay there but this motel was recommended by a friend. The owner was very polite and not all rude (as some would leave you to believe in their reviews ) when he explained to me about the credit card policy. I feel it is a good policy to protect his customers. Unfortunately I did not have a credit card but would have stayed there if I had.
