Really eye stopping bridge. You can get a good view from the Aire on the A75.

An absolutely stunning piece of 19th century engineering and still in use today. Of course the location itself is also spectacular. Worth a detour!

We drove by accidentally on highway, and thought it looks so familiar to the famous bridge in film Cassandra Crossing. Googled it, confirmed! Only 2 trains pass over the viaduc each day now in very slow vitesse, which gives it a special nostalgic feeling of the old world. Effeil built it in 1884 and 5 years later he constructed the tower.

We have seen this from the highway last year, this year we were kayaking on the lake Truyère under the Viaduc de Garabit, amazing views up and around us.

Stopped in a lay by to eat a sandwich. Great scenery.
