Rather disappointing visit. The place is clearly overhyped. We had several tapas at El Pimpi. The food quality was rather average. The octopus was even rather bad and tasted old. The service was too busy to pay attention to the guests. Corona rules were not checked. We will not return to El Pimpi. There are much better places around.

I’m a tourist and this is easily one of the best restaurant I’ve ever seen. It has the culture, the atmosphere, the music, THE FOOD. Gosh, bless them for the food they’re making! It’s unbelievable good. Every inch of this place is different. You could sit down in a very normal room or you just could have lunch/dinner in the middle of this little market room. I absolutely adored it and I will forsure come back.

Visited for lunch and sat outside as it offers a nice glimpse over the square. Food was good though prices are slightly on the higher side for restaurants. I found the staff however quite rude and not very helpful.

If clean toilets are your only benchmark for a good restaurant, this is the place for you. Now for the people who enjoy a good restaurant, please skip this restaurant. I was mislead by the thousands of reviews and I was disappointed. The food was expensive and 50/50 really good and really mediocre, the portions were not satisfactory either. The lack of a physical menu for a pretentious restaurant like that was odd and I would be okay with that if the menu wasn't translated with an early version of Google Translate, also almost none of the dishes had a description and the waiter didn't help at all. Skip this place, there is no atmosphere. It's just loud and crowded. Snobby, expensive and mediocre.

Quality and tasty tapas with decent price. We love the authentic, delicious tapas and the atmosphere here. Most of the foods we ordered were amazing! Recommend a try. The restaurant was very busy, but it’s worthy to queue up. There were two queue, one for outdoor dining and one for indoor dining.

THE BEST CHEESECAKE EVER. My wife got me into cheesecake when we first met, and she is obsessed with it. Every time she sees it on a menu, she wants it. Well, I gotta say... It was the best cheesecake I ever had. And for her too. I had octopus with potatoes, it was beautiful. I also tried some 'red mojo' meat. It was so good that I gobbled it all within a minute and then felt sad that I ate it too fast, or that none was left! It was very busy. The inside isn't quite accessible for wheels. It has several small sets of staircases. But we sat outside after passing through. I would prefer softer bread, but I guess it's just a Spanish thing to have bread like this everywhere you go.

Amazing place! Great environment with a nice decoration! A popular but still stylish place. Visited by many famous celebrities. Very good prices (58.4€ for 4 persons!) and delicious food. The waiters are all very friendly and servicial. Fully recommended!

Had lunch on the outside terrace on a sunny November day, it was a fabulous experience. Great service and food. Go early (they start taking lunch orders at 12:30) if you don’t want to wait for a table, as this is an extremely popular place.

The fried fish and cheesecake are a definite must try. Reasonably priced sangria to beat the hot summers. Lovely buzzing atmosphere. The place was always full with queues during dinner. They do walk ins and are very accommodating.

We got this recommendation from a local so we decided to go, despite the fact that the Google rating was quite low. The place - it’s super centrally located, next to the Roman Theatre, which makes it the pit-stop for pretty much every tourist. You have to pay attention though, it seems like El Pimpi has very many locations in the area. The getting in part - yeah. It lures you in by the fact that one can actually walk through before being seated at a table, so you can actually go in and see the place before you decide to eat there. MAKE a RESERVATION. If you do decide to go there, the waiting time is quite long without a reservation, wether you stay inside or at the terrace. Arm yourself with lots of patience. Oh and once you do get a place inside, be prepared for a lot of traffic around you, either from waiters or people randomly passing by. The food - it has a nice variety, most of it deep friend though. We only ordered the local non-fried stuff and it was super tasty. The wine was also good, but to be fair, if you want to have a wine experience, this is not the place to be (I saw some people commenting on their short wine selection- jus go to a wine restaurant instead..) The waiter we had was super friendly and helped us navigate a bit the things we did not know. The app they have for ordering was also helpful, provided you have roaming or wifi. Overall it was a cute experience and worth the wait for us.

Definitely cool vibe and a really big establishment. The line was long for outdoor seating when we arrived, so we just went inside and found seating at the bar. This place definitely is touristy and you can see it from the food and price. In terms of tapas, the octopus is probably the only thing we would recommend. That said, if you are not looking for serious meal, but rather having some drinks and tapas with friends, this place could still be nice given the atmosphere

A lot of good reviews got us hyped up about this place and we were not disappointed. We got a tablet on which we chose items from the menu and showed our waiter. I commend the staff for their prompt service given that they were at full capacity inside out. The interiors are mesmerizing and it’s a nice ambience to get lost in while you wait for the food. Food was top notch and worth every bit of the hype and money.

Great place. Very busy so need 20 minutes to get a table. Use application to reserve. Very nice organized. Despite the huge amount of orders - the food is tasty.

The restaurant is well-known and has a lot of history and charm, with walls covered in photographs and memorabilia. The menu at El Pimpi is fairly extensive and offers a wide variety of dishes, from traditional Spanish tapas to seafood and meat entrees. I found the food to be good. The service at El Pimpi was friendly and attentive, though the restaurant can get quite busy. The atmosphere is lively and bustling given it is located in the center. Having lunch with my friend at El Pimpi was an enjoyable experience, and we both appreciated the atmosphere and character of the restaurant.

Very cute local authentic Andalusian cuisine. Fine dishes with great taste and high quality food/ingredients. The sangria was amazing. The best I had so far in my life. Very sparkling and refreshing with great taste. We had to wait for 30 minutes in the line but it was definitely worth it.

Yes the food was good, but there are equally good places in town. The menu is digital with a QR code. I ate dinner at the bar which was just fine. Simple straightforward and the bar staff were great and helpful when ordering.

Incredible atmosphere, the place has Spanish history vibes all over. Service is very good too, and even if you have to wait for a table it goes quite quick. And most importantly, the food….. Simply fantastic! We had: Pulled pork brioche Grilled salmon with guacamole bun Cordon blue with potatoes Fried squid Recommend all of the above 10/10!

This restaurant was huge! Inside was humongous and they had a large outdoor area as well for dining. It was amazing. It was packed with people and that is always a good sign that the food is delicious. The oxtail with truffle purée, it was chefs kiss. The meat fell right off the bone and the mashed potato underneath was packed with rich and deep flavours. The chickpea, spinach and meat stew was also amazing, it paired perfectly with the free bread they gave you. We also ordered the pulled pork brioche with the pickled red cabbage and it was amazing. You also must order the malaga salad, it's a potato salad with orange and it left me speechless. The chicken rice paella was a melody of flavours that was stewed to perfection. Also the menu is through a QR code and I want to say whoever designed that website did an amazing job. You can make a list so that when the waiter comes you'll remember what you want to order. The menu is available in English and if the waiter doesn't understand English it can be translated into Spanish right on the website. Mind blown. 10/10 would recommend.

Interesting place, a mix of a restaurant and a narrow street to visit. A lot happening left and right. As for food, it's great and not that expensinve. I got the fried anchovies with fried patatas. Great, would definitely recommend as a somehow light meal.

Some queue if you're coming without reservation. Moves quite fast though.Good choice of food and pretty amazing quantity for what you pay. Typical restaurant with an incredible setting when eating outside you get a fine seeing of the Alcazaba Castle plus the Roman amphitheater beneath it. Try the local sweet wine for aperitif.

We came here for lunch T 1pm and We got seated quickly . By the time we left, around 2 PM there was a very long line. So if you go in for lunch, go there before 2 PM and dinner before 8 PM otherwise you will be waiting in long lines. We felt a little rushed to place our order. We had to scan the menu and read it on the phone. The menu was not very clear to understand and we ended up eating a burger and sandwich. Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary.

You'll need to book ahead if you want to sit inside. Tortilla is so good, like the rest of the food. Take a walk around inside too, there is lots to see!

The place seems over rated, prices are a bit too high for the quality provided. The seafood plate cost 26 euro but tasted like nothing, a waste of money. The rest of the food was good

Very glad we had the time to stop in for lunch. This is touted as a must visit in Malaga and we were not disappointed. All the food looked delicious. The place is very crowded but we were seated very quickly. Highly recommend the squid ink seafood rice casserole. Paella? Maybe. :). Service was courteous and speedy.

This place can get slightly confusing as there's a ton of seating outside, but venture inside and walk back to the bar area and experince the great atmosphere this place has to offer. We went here for some drinks prior to eating dinner at another restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Great for cocktails or just a simple wine for a decent price. I recommend coming here early to grab a seat at the bar and have a few drinks. The bartender was even kind enough to offer some house drink for free after we asked for the bill.

I would like to give more stars ⭐️ then 5 but this is the limit! It was really nice and beautiful 🤩 experience to enjoy 😉 dinner with my wife in El Pimpi restaurant! Staff was really nice 👍 helpful and very polite, little bit strange because is not that they can speak 🗣 English language..! Food 🍱🥘 🍲 was really really tasty 😋 and delicious 🤤 Peale it was really very tasty 😋 About wine 🍷 Moscatel Ilberia Malaga Virgen Sweet liquor made 100% Muscat grapes. The grapes have been dried under the sun ☀️ of Malaga Ageing for 6 months in oak barrels wich give the wine its dark amber colour and brilliance. El Pimpi is an exceptional restaurant that offers a wide range of delicious dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving. The food at El Pimpi is simply outstanding, with a variety of traditional Spanish dishes that are prepared with the freshest and highest quality ingredients. One of the standout dishes at El Pimpi is their paella. This traditional Spanish rice dish is cooked to perfection with saffron, seafood, chicken and a variety of vegetables. The combination of flavors is simply amazing and the dish is cooked to perfection every time. In addition to their paella, El Pimpi also offers a wide variety of tapas. These small plates are perfect for sharing and allow diners to experience a variety of different flavors in one meal. From crispy fried calamari to succulent Iberian pork, every tapa is a work of art that is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Another standout at El Pimpi is their extensive wine list. The restaurant has an impressive collection of wines from all over Spain, including many rare and unique bottles that are hard to find elsewhere. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or simply looking for a great bottle to pair with your meal, El Pimpi is the perfect place to explore the world of Spanish wine. Overall, I highly recommend El Pimpi to anyone looking for exceptional food in a beautiful setting. The quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the overall experience are all top-notch, making this restaurant a must-visit for anyone visiting Spain.

The place is huge and the atmosphere is great, but that's where the positives end. Horrible portions, compared to the prices. There is no physical menu, which would be fine, if the online one had any pictures or descriptions of the meals. Overall the place seems to rely on the interior to catch people's attention, and nothing else. Wouldn't visit again.

We've visited this restaurant on Sunday evening and chosen it by a mistake with another Pimpi restaurant not far away. First things is that it was extremely difficult to find somebody who could organize a table! Finally we've found an administrator who gave us a table inside after 10 minutes of standing outside. After studying the menu for not long a waiter came to us and when we asked him to come later he didn't show up for a long time, so had to ask that administrator guy to find somebody. Finally we've made our order (Paella and two glasses of wine). We also had bread until we waited and we used the plates provided. After a half an hour two waiters brought us a huge pan with Paella, but didn't bing the plates which we realized a bit late. It was impossible to find any waiter who would notice us, so my wife came directly to our waiter and asked him for plates. And you know what? He completely ignored her! Finally we've asked the administrator guy and he immediately brought us the plates (same dull and basic ones though). Getting the bill was easier with the same waiter, but the nasty feeling is with us. The whole place is very chaotic - waiters are constantly moving all over the place. You can't expect any attention, but would instead try to drag it all the time. Paella is just the same as everywhere, not the best one. We liked the interior and the administrator guy who seemed to worke most and solved the problems. Management, you should value him! And the waiter with a beard who simply ignores you should be trained to do his job.

This place is becoming a tourist trap, we went after recommended by locals, the inside of the restaurant is fine and is mixed of tourist and locals people. But the waiter force you to get a table outside in the terrace which have completely different menu from inside of the restaurant. The food is fine but very over priced and no taps, everything are sold in large portion. Make sure you seat in side where you can order taps. There is long waiting time to get a table inside but no waiting time to seat outside with overpriced menu! Feel like a scam!

Gorgeous interiors to this large restaurant and bar. We sat outside to get lunch but came back later after we saw how cool the inside was. The food was just ok, but when we returned for drinks and tapas, it felt like the better way to enjoy this venue. Service was friendly, attentive and helpful.

Good food, solid wine selection. The restaurant's menu is hosted via a really slick mobile app where you can fill a 'cart' with the items you'd like to order, easily translate between English/French/other to Spanish and then show to your waiter for really seamless ordering. We sat outdoors along the street but the interior and bar area is really beautiful and well-decorated.

The best discovery, by chance, in the city of Malaga. A must! Every corner of this place is more surprising than the previous one. Tasty food with fast, efficient and impeccable service. Courteous and friendly waiters. You should not miss this restaurant, please.

We went there at around 7pm on a Thursday, and although busy we managed to find a table. The bar always has a few barrel tables up for grabs. We had 6 tapas and 2 glasses of sweet wine for €38. The staff was very friendly as well! The food was very good, my favourites were the shrimp croquettes and the patatas bravas. Great vibe and decor, overall delighted with the experience!
