Delicious authentic and traditional Czech food. Friendly staff who can speak far better English than I can speak Czech. The place sits just off a beautiful square - not the easiest to find, but well worth it. It's got a local pub feel to it and I was delighted to get a chance to try some Czech food in a place that's a little more off the beaten track.

You don't have to be in a hurry to appreciate the place, since you might get nervous, the staff, although very nice, having some difficulties to serve coordinately the few tables. But waiting is worth it, typical czech food is excellent, the beef stew i had is definitely the best i enjoyed this year - and it is late october :)

Bin erstaunt von den teilweise boshaften Kritiken. Habe dort gestern ein ganz hervorragendes Steak gegessen (und ich bin bei Steaks sehr kritisch). Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und gut gelaunt. Und ein bisschen laute Musik am Abend ist doch nun auch kein Drama.

Wonderful cozy atmosphere, in the heart of Mělník, beautiful garden, friendly and helpful staff and really very delicious dishes. We liked it very much. It's one of the rare occasions when we enjoyed Czech cuisine. Very good quality of the food. I would definitely recommend that restaurant. 👌👍💯😋😋

Awesome food, great service, romantic atmosphere...We were more than satisfied. We came after 10 pm whne the kitchen was closing, but the waiter let us order anyway. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Rice not cooked well, meat loaf dry, portions small, I do not recommend

We went here to eat for lunch after looking at the good reviews but I was a litlle dissapointed. I had the risotto with chicken and rucola and while the taste was okay the rice was not done, I told the waitress and she came back to tell me that this is how it should be. Proffesional cook or not- I know very well how cooked rice tastes like and it's bad for the stomach to eat uncooked rice. In the end I ate nothing. My mother had "naše sekana" (meatloaf) but it was too dry and too old to serve, besides the garlic it was completely tasteless. The prices are mediocre (160kc or up) but for the price, the portions are on the small side. Maybe there will be one or two good dishes in the menu but I won't come back to try and fish them out.

7 tables, with good space among them. Fire place in good working conditions, always attended by personnel. Great quality ingredients, excelent professional Service! Also haVe a beUtiful inside patio. Well deserved the qualifications that it has from Trip Advisor. A must if you visit Melnik!

Nice location in the town's centre. Good variety of local foods and certainly a unique atmosphere in the old building on a central square. Unfortunately, the unprofessional staff literally spoilt the whole experience despite the food being pretty good. The waitress had no clue about the wines offered and when asked about the options, she repeated "it's cuvée from Kraus" which is probably well known to the locals but not if you're visiting from abroad. To be fair, after our questioning about the variety of wine she did come back to inform us the wine was a mixture of "citruses and herbs, etc...". I rather ordered sparkling water... In addition to this, we were not given any cutlery for the meals.we ordered and it needed some prompting.

Wir suchten spontan auf der Durchreise etwas zum Essen. Wir landeten hier durch puren Zufall. Perfekter Service, sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Nach einer leckeren Kulajda und einem perfekt gebratenem Steak wollte ich noch einen Nachtisch. Ich habe stattdessen einen Espresso genommen, sonst wäre ich geplatzt! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es war toll. Wir werden auf jeden Fall beim nächsten Termin in Prag wieder bei Euch halten und den Rest der Speisekarte durchprobieren! PS. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut gerechtfertigt!

The staff is very kind, especially the waiter Matej. Starters arrived very fast and the taste of the cheese plate and the pork was amazing. Just after the starters the main dish arrived and it had the perfect portion and temperature. Everything was made to perfection. The taste was phenomenal and there were a lot of flavours, especially the combination of certain ingredients was very good. Presentation of the dish also top notch. The outside area is a cute backyard which feels very cozy.

Nice restaurant with a beautiful little patio. The food was great and service was fine too. Definitely a good place for lunch in Melnik.

Nice medieval atmosphere with fire, candles and calm music. We tried salmon with vegetables baked in a paper and vegetarian tagliatelle with spinach, both tasted amazing

Nice restaurant in the main square of the pleasant town of Melnik. The nice interiors have arched stone walls and heavy wooden tables. The Menu (available in English and German too) includes traditional food which was excellent , very kind service and reasonable prices. All in all, a very good choice. Worth a visit.
