Loved the customer service from beginning to end. Had to switch my reservation twice and they did it with no complaint. Loved the gnudi, but the lamb neck was fantastic. The wines are the highlight of this place, so make sure you try those. The sourdough bread was also perfectly baked. Hope to be back to try more from the menu.

A super nice and cozy place in a calm district. The personnel is super nice, positive and welcoming, the menu is creative and diverse with super interesting mixes of ingredients, the wine list is partially weird (2 wines out of 5 in red by glasses from Loire which is not the most obvious choice - telling it as a person who’s living in France), but the orange wine choice was impressive. The only negative side is the service which was quite long especially when they forgot part of our dishes. Nevertheless I would definitely recommend the place to go to 🙌🏻😉

Quaint restaurant in a neighborhood a tram ride from the city center. The staff was very welcoming and the food was excellent! The menu is simple, but the choices were amazing. We picked a few dishes to share, and asked for recommendations. Our favorite was the cod, cockles, cockle sauce dish. Again simple, yet the flavors were so bright, fresh and clean.

Surprisingly large wine bar with a very big terrace. No vegan options on the menu unfortunately, but quite a few very good vegetarian dishes. And what do you know, they serve beer (including non alcoholic) as well. Nice! Both the asparagus and burrata dish are amazing. And the chocolate caramel sea salt, well… try for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. Some very friendly people working there as well. Great place.

One of the best place to have a beautiful dinner in Amsterdam. Wonderful atmosphere, innovative menu with only fresh and seasonal Dutch ingredients paired with amazing wines. The mackerel fish is divine and the tomato water dish took me back to my childhood, it reminded me of when my grandmother used to make tomato conserve during summer time. What else to say … a must to try!

Gorgeous casual unpretentious yet sophisticated wine bar extensive worldly wine list (with natural wines) and lots of seasonal snacking plates. We had beautiful white asparagus, cod, pickled artichoke and great ceviche style. The freshest oysters too. You can see the care and attention in each plate. Beautiful layers of flavour, and a lovely ambience. Even on a Monday evening it was buzzing.

October 2021 - I have been meaning to write a review ever since. The tasty menu was outstanding with some highly innovative use of local ingredients like berries from the coast, and salsify - something I had only read about in Victorian cookbooks! Alex + Pinard was reassuringly busy, illustrating it has earned its reputation for good food and wine at a reasonable price. A most pleasant way to spend an evening in Amsterdam 🙂

One of the best meals we’ve had in a really long time. There is nothing like this place or this food in San Francisco, California, unless you pay the equivalent of a monthly salary. Arrived for a lovely summers night and it was splendid. Great vibe in a quiet neighborhood. The wine selection was vast and the food was delicious. Be mindful of the servings they are kind of on the smaller side so ideal if you have had a big lunch.

I came here with a lot of excitement, but left disappointed and unsatisfied. The menu choice was awfully limited and the portion size ridiculously meagre for the category of dish. I chose a main of varenyky, which cost €15.50, and received only five little varenyky. Although they were tasty, I honestly felt like I had been conned by what I was (not) getting for my money.

This place was really good but not excellent. Top notch service though the food was just okay. The lamb neck was a little tough for me. The jamon croquettes were a tad bit overfried. The artichokes weren't quite there yet... Still a lot of stringy bits and could've used more streaming/cooking. I did however like the ambience of the whole place and the drinks selection. I would go back to try more of their menu.

It is a wine bar with a short small plates menu which is changed regularly. I tried two wine among by the glass options and they were nice. Especially the orange from Slovakia was a good surprise. You need to pay for bread+butter+smoked salt which was very tasty. But apart from that, food was below expectation. Oyster was fresh and ok. fig&labneh was too simple for 12 euro, and fig was very tasteless. Croqueta was really good. Cod with cockle sauce was also a bit lacking the taste. I would expect a more dense sauce with more flavors. None of the plates were in a category like to be ordered again next time but still I like to try the rest of the menu and also as menu changed.

Pros: I liked that the menu was authentically Ukrainian having many dishes that I was growing up with in Lviv and less (or even none) of the soviet nonsense stuff. The highlight for me was the smalets. It was very good quality, which is not easy to find even in Ukraine sometimes. I woud serve it with a bit different bread though, like darker more solid bread. I also really liked the makivnyk dessert. Really brought me back home. The personnel was nice and spoke good Ukrainian which is always a pleasant add on :) Cons: limited menu options. Only one type of varenyky available. (in the video to het parool the owner mentioned cherry varenyky which I would love, but they were not on the menu) . Portions are really small for a main. It was more like a tapas size (5 dumplings per portion). Almost no choice of alcohol free drinks. It would be nice to have kompot, uzvar, kvas, traditional Ukrainian kombucha! or something like this. If you do drink alcohol they had nice beer options, even the one from my hometown brewery. Overall I think this place has lots of potential. I can imagine that starting up a restaurant like this must be really hard and I really looking forward to coming back when there are a bit more options on the menu. Thank you for the experience :)
