👍👍 Popular place for tourists. A must visit when visiting mae sai. Feels surreal to be there when riding your motorcycle from the southern peninsula all the way to this sign. Was a waste as the boarder was not opened yet when I visited in Dec 2022. Wonderful mae sai it really is. People often mention river, border, Myanmar,

At the moment, Myanmar is closed, but we were able to "see it" from this side of the river. The river does not seem deep, but the water is fast running when we came. Not going to break any laws. Got our photos and left.

Nice place to visit.. Markets on both sides of the border. The river Mae Nam Sai separates Mae Sai in Thailand and Tachileik in Myanmar. Plenty of places to eat, to shop.. Much if not all of the merchandise is coming from China to Chiang Saen by flat-boat on the Mae Nam Khong. And much of the merchandise is loaded into trucks to different places in Bangkok and else.

There are 2 of theses sign posts in Mae Sai. One is down river from the official border crossing along the river Worth checking out to see normal burmeses people getting along in life. The other sign post is near the official border crossing but you will have to walk to the right of the Thai checkpoint and past a few shops as it is a bit hidden by buildings. The Generals had the border closed when we visited. They are busy conducting a genocide against their own people to maintain their illegitimate hold on power. Cry for Myanmar

Reached abit late at 6ish so was getting dark. Bright enough for some quick photos! Awhile later the lights were on and round 2 of photos! Theres a military guard with a gun nearby, probably coz just across the small stream (supposed to be a river) is Myanmar and he's looking out for people illegally crossing. He didn't stop us from taking photos though. Nice place! Some locals nearby were curious of us as well. Recommend stopping by on your touring trip around north of Thailand! An achievement to unlock!

We’ve come from Singapore with our bikes and reached this iconic point and signboard! Nothing much here but you’ll see the river separating Thailand and Myanmar. Check out our journey at All Terrain Overlanders on Facebook and Instagram!
