First of all, the shop is beautiful and clean. The taste is the same. There is not really a good shop to eat here. But you can eat here without fear. The price is reasonable as per the time. It is very easy to find on the roadside

The food and Service are good, I stopped for lunch on several occasions, I made this review based on my last visit. The latest price for Rice and Curry is 500.00 LKR and Fried rice 650.00

A quaint little restraunt. Looks pretty run down outside but the interior is pretty cozy and nice. It's also pretty busy and has both locals and foreigners. The food is alright but given the price it's very competitive. Service was alright , but the place did lack tissues etc . Also seemed a bit understaffed. There is a clear lack of parking so do keep that in mind when visiting.

Nice place near Gregory park (2 km), with an excellent customer service and perfectly cooked meals. The place was very pleasant and clean. Foods were delicious and worth for money andalso the staff was very friendly.

The restaurant is beautiful and clean. very cool place. The best place to take meals is near Nuwara Eliya. It on the Nuwara eliya - welimada road. I had several lunches in here. Customer service is good. all the available foods are in the buffet. The staff is friendly and helpful. I am recommended this place for rice and curry in Nuwara Eliya. Prices are reasonable as per time. Location can find very easily because this is near the main road. No parking area is available. On can park side of the main road. All the interior has been done with bamboo and types of furniture which is soo similar to village styles. There are some historical items such as piano and violin.

Mathara Ambula is a great place to visit for its delicious food, stunning location, and excellent service. I highly recommend trying the traditional Sri Lankan dishes, such as kottu roti and hoppers. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are always happy to make recommendations. The place is also very clean and well-maintained.

My experience here was quick and memorable. It was busy when my family and I arrived but we were taken care of quickly. You order with the hostess near the entrance and afterwards you’re seated. They have veggie and non-veggie options. The food was so good I forgot to take a picture of it before completely devouring every last bite. The servings were plentiful, food was fresh, and we were served shortly after being seated. A nice bonus is there’s great views from the windows and outside the restaurant too. Many locals were eating here too so you know it’s good!

"Ambula" is one of the very good place feel the taste of southern food"Ambul thiyal fish". Staff is very helpful. Specially"Mary" she is very honest and friendly member if this team.

The food was okey. But they charged almost 3 times more price for the same food for my wife because she is not Sri lankan. That's not nice. It's kind a racist act! Sri lankan people have to change the mindset. All tourist are not rich. Evrrybody have struggles. We should treat everybody as same

Cozy restaurant with Sri Lankan food. They have a buffet and also a la carte menu. Food was very tastful, kids liked the kottu a lot. Totally recommended if you look for authentic Sri Lankan food.

I m really sorry to say that .. food is not really nice. I order 3 Chicken Fried Rice. ,it was really out of taste.. i thought it was basmathi rice but unfortunately it was another type of rice.Please maintain your Food quality .i hope you will understand what i mean .

It was a place to eat but food is not that appealing. The portion of the rice is than the curry and since its late afternoon, food is also cold.

The best place to have foods in real sri lankan way at Nuwara Eliya. Starting from the ambiance of the restaurant it is super amazing, all the interior has done with bamboos and furnitures. which is so familiar to Sri Lankan village style. Menu has wide range of selection starting from string hoppers, bread, rice and curry, fried rice, kottu, egg rotty, vegetable rotty and all the beverages including Tea, and cool drinks. All the foods can rate five stars. About the service, there are small staff with super supportive attitudes and warm welcoming to the restaurant. If you traveling through, you should not miss this place if you love to taste real sri lanka foods in unique southern taste.

The food here is delicious but the amount of food served is not worth the money. Four of us went to eat and bought two full rice which is enough for two people. I told our other couple that it was a good place, but when the food came, I was ashamed.
