Used to be favorite breakfast place when we travel to Kandy because of the amazing buffet they had, things have changed with crisis but their food is still amazing. This is what we had for lunch on our way to Kandy for Naadagama. Yellow rice and curry 🍛 with chicken. Special mention BATU MOJU!!! 🥰

Good Food. They have local buffets, short eats and all sorts of snacks. Short eats are good. Buffets looked great did not try though. The prices are a bit expensive compared to similar restaurants. Got ample car park space. Enough space for bigger groups. They have a separate hall opposite the road for bigger groups. Clean bathrooms. When there are lots of people service is a bit clumpsy.

Very good calm environment. service is excellent. Not much crowded when we there. Good tasty food.

A famous dining spot for travelers along the Colombo Kandy Road. This is run by the hotel corporation of Sri Lanka and they have buffet and Ala carte meals. Place tends to get busy and crowded in weekends due to the increase in the number of travellers along this way. Breakfast buffet cost around 750.. Has a good variety of Sri Lankan breakfast but not English. Lunch also leans towards the Sri Lankan heritage. They also have short eats pastries and snacks here so you can even drop by for a quick bite and a coffee. The service is excellent and also wash rooms are clean which is quite important for travelers.

A nice atmosphere and a friendly service. Quality food and beverages available for reasonable prices. You can have a calypso experience here.A place for a cup of tea and a chat with family and friends.

One of the best pit stops on your way along the Kandy Colombo A1 highway. They offer buffet in the morning not great value for money. But the snacks and tea is really great. The staff is also friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend. The security guard also ensure that you park correctly and supported when the car is taken out. Good place.

I have been visited Awanhala for few years for a "tea break" as I travel to either kandy or Kurunagala in every month.foods are always very tasty and their milk tea is well balanced.other very positive thing I noticed is there restroom.it is always very clean dry.snacks and meals are bit on the higher side in price.

This place is a scam, they charged rs200 for a rs60 coke when asked why they said its the hotel co operation price (I don't even know if this is legal to sell a msrp item for a higher price) Food is also very bad. It had a overpriced for 850 for a few scattered pieces of chicken some Chilly paste, and one piece of cucumber just one. Also the food had a overpowering taste of chlorine, which is not good at all. My recommendation is to avoid this place and go to wahalkada instead.

They serve a decent cup of Ceylon Tea, not something from a machine ! The food is good, the place is a clean & relaxing stop when you are tired & hungry. Courteous stewards & efficient service Clean toilets. We always stop here

Highly recommending this place for breakfast during the travel towards kandy. Their buffet menu is really worthy for the money

Great value for money. The ambiance with the "Calypso" band taking requests was outstanding. The band was very good at what they were doing too!

Luxurious Place. Slow service. Not good for if you are in a hurry. Parking and assisting is good. Every thing is rationed. Clean Washrooms. Clean food and environment. Climate control is good. can have breakfast, Lunch. Dinner and Short meals. Less crowded now

Awanhala is on the Colombo Kandy road just before or after the turn to KURUNAGALLE road.This has been a famous place over for people to stop of a meal and a cup of tea when travelling in between Colombo Kandy road. Place severs breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. They also have a good selection of bits savoury or sweet. They even have a Sri Lanka music band playing popular music to entertain the crowd. Clean toilets.

I recently dined at Awanhala, and it was a delightful experience. The food was exceptional, offering a diverse range of flavors that truly pleased my palate. Stopped by for breakfast and they had a buffet consisting of a variety of items including Hoppers, string hoppers, rice, bread and even porridge. Food is good but expensive, breakfast is 1,250/= and lunch is 1,500/=. Good place if you want to eat big, but not recommend if you are looking to eat on a budget.

Being a lockdown period naturally allowed for a limited breakfast selelection of stuffed bread rolls of either fish or seen sambol. However staff made up for the limited selection with the usual Sri Lankan warmth. Only place that was open on the Kandy Road anyway.

Disappointed of the Breakfast. This is very clam and cool place for dine in. Clean washrooms, grate food. But last week I visited for breakfast and they haven’t food various to select and have to pay 2500/- for 2 person. It’s fair for these days but need some various food to select

Very disappointed of the Breakfast. This place used to be one of the best places to dine in on the way to Kandy. But now it’s a disaster. They don’t have even enough plates and you have to beg for the plate. Then they had only rice with only a stale fish curry. Sambol is over and no one is bothered to refill. Had the most horrible experience. But had to pay 1250/- for the break fast for nothing. Never going back again

Nicely arranged clean place ,prices are slightly higher than the other places, but the food quality and taste was so 👌good. Very friendly staff. Wash rooms are so clean and maintained properly.

Great service, wonderful people always assisting the clients to choose. Food is good. I loved the tea, especially. Toilets are not bad compared to many other places.

I have been this place many times and it is one of the good places to have a good meal on way to Kandy or even-though it is bit expensive. We paid 690/= per person for a B'fast meal. There are many food options such as Hoppers, String Hoppers, Milk Rice, Bread, Kadala or Red Rice with tea and coffee. The place is very clean and the staff was very friendly. we never had issues with the parking.

Those is very nice and popular place when you travel kandy colombo regularly. Very tasty foods and nicely served. Parking space also there. This place is very safe for the kids. I recommended this place for locals and foreigner's as well.

Great food, great hospitality, great live music

Had lunch buffet which cost 880 on Sunday .Tasty meals. Mainly Fried rice, red and white rice. Chicken and fish. Two veggies. Kale mallum,chile paste . Dessert with cut fruits and jelly. Good customer service. Clean and well maintained wash rooms. Had electricity by a generator even during the power cuts. Good spot for buffet .
