As a flight attendant, I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world, and this is one of the worst I have seen. The lobby and restaurants have been updated but the rooms have not seen any improvement since the 1980's. I recommend you stay elsewhere!

War mittlerweile fünf Nächte hier, die Zimmer sind okay, aber in die Jahre gekommen. Rezeption wirkt häufig etwas angespannt. Personal beim Frühstück unterbesetzt. Schwimmbereich im Keller ganz schön. Leider kostenlos nur gedrosseltes WLAN und in manchen Zimmern zu schwacher Empfang!

I travelled with my wife and two kids. Breakfast was good with different choices. Kids love the swiminng pool. I enjoyed the Sauna as well. Very friendly and co-operative staff. Parking 25 Eruo per day is on high side.

Not a bad place at all..rooms are average, but do have an excellent bed. The mattress was a memory foam, and I slept wonderfully! Hotel is in a residential area, and has a restaurant and bar. Short walk to the village of Mainz.

Great hotel. We had an overnight after our flight to London was diverted. The staff were very friendly and welcoming as our coach arrived at short notice. They did an excellent job The rooms were clean and the food was excellent. Great breakfast. 👍

Good hotel, good personnel, good breakfast. But feels overpriced considering the condition and technics in bathroom. I attach photo. To "catch" comfortable warm water is not easy. I recommend to install parking Apcoa-app in advance, of you are driving there. Then it costs 10 eur instead of 20 per 24 hours. If you install app just before entering parking - it does not work yet, you need special agreement with parking's personnel via radio connection

I stayed in this hotel a while ago, very nice bedrooms and the helpful staff kept it tidy. Excellent food for breakfast and lunch. The staff were very helpful as i did not know German but they tried their best to guide me. It was a good location and i would recommend this hotel. The garage underground was large and comfortable. Overall i would say it was a fantastic hotel, Slight problems but i think the staff crew can easily fix that.

The staff is always friendly, efficient and professional. Very comfortable room. Clean and quiet even being on the street side!

We enjoyed our stay but were a bit diappointed by breakfast. It was all a bit chaotic and the food did not taste very good. The filtered coffee was good, though :)

TBH @novotel_mainz_city was impromptu when my friend who offered to host me caught covid. It turned out to be one of our favourite hotels in a lovely city. When I went to the basement, I was mind blown 🤯 The foundations of my hotel was built in the 1700s! You can still see the rock formations and it was a urreal to swim in a heated pool surrounded by history! The courtyard was also beautiful mosaic tiles and pictures of zodiacs etc. @novotel_mainz_city’s team was one of our best stays. In the room, they set up a lovely surprise with Lindt chocolates and gave complimentary beer and coke. Thank you for being the best hotel in Mainz. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope to be back to Mainz one day!

The service was great and the location is good; plenty of restaurants and places to see around this hotel. The hotel is getting very old and the price is way too high based on what you get. The gym needs better equipment and the elevators needs to be replaced (they are really slow). I don't recommend booking at this hotel.

We are customers of this hotel since years. Just last weekend my family and I stayed there over the weekend. We really enjoy the very friendly and always helpful staff. Either during check-in or -out, in the restaurant and at the bar, even the house keeping staff is very welcoming and customer oriented. Our kids enjoy the pool, my wife likes the small spa area a lot, even though there are some external groups during specific times when it's not possible for the hotel guests to use the pool. But we planned our outside activities around these times, as Mainz has a lot to offer and the hotel is very well located to explore the city by foot. The rooms are a bit old but still very comfortable. Over the years we can clearly see that small renovations and enhancements are done in the rooms. We will definitely be back soon!

This is a very expensive hotel for what you get. It is catered mostly for people that go for one or two nights on business, meaning that if you stay longer you will definitely experience some pain. Also, do not bring a car here unless you are okay with paying €25 per night for parking. The staff were alright sometimes and rude other times. I had an issue with a parking ticket they provided that was supposed to work for 7 days, and the machine ate it on the first day. Generally, right thing to do would be that the hotel simply issue me another and take care of the issue with the parking garage company they can clearly communicate with. Instead they argued they could do nothing about it and that I (who does not have a German phone number and am a guest) should handle with the parking garage company. The only way to get in touch with the company when their phones are down is to go to the parking garage entrance and click the intercom on the box. I stood there for more than 10minutes in 0C weather before someone came onto the intercom. And they couldn’t even solve the problem. I ended up having to go down to the reception to get a new ticket every day. Overall, it’s fine if you stay for a couple nights, but staying for more than a week is not recommended.

Comfy beds, blackout curtains. Quiet clean. Nice staff. Kids loved the pool. Superb sauna. Amazing value and super chill. Not a 5 star hotel but excellent value family holiday.

This is a great place to the value. Staff are polite, helpful snd caring, the location is fab, close to the train and bus stations, also walking distance to the city centre. Rooms are big and spacious, mine had a quite lovely view to the street. The bathroom is large and clean, there is lots of wardrobes for cloths, a kettle, TV, desk and a mini fridge. No bottle water and not enough tea bags if you ask me though. There is direct train from Frankfurt airport to a stop very nearby. The breakfast is good, lots of options and served very early like 6:30 which is great. The food at the restaurant is ok, I tried pasta and was alright, you can order to the room hot or cold food for a service fee of €4. Only that the restaurant do not pick up phone from rooms snd I had to go down to order there. The reception also does not pick up calls from rooms which is a bit if pain. There is a bar and a nice outdoor sitting area as well. You can sdk the staff to book you taxies and they help very kindly. Reception is 24/7 and there is a box for fast check out to leave the room card. As you can pay for all services when ordering so mo need to pay for check out which is a good approach.

Rooms are a bit shabby, and the sewer gas often backs up into the rooms. Very nice pool and spa. It's a steep walk back to the hotel from downtown. Staff is very pleasant.

I stay here often on business and even when vacationing on my own. Very quiet location if not on street side. (Most rooms are not on the street side, but face a lovely residential courtyard.) Very easy to walk to the main train station or a short taxi ride. The staff is great!

Das Zimmer war schön groß und sauber. Es hatte alles was man braucht. Gute Nähe zum Bahnhof. Toller Service für Tagungen. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr gut.

Best Novotel I've been too. The pool/spa situation is worth it alone and the Romanesque cave vibe going on was very gravitas. Got me feeling like a consul of Rome. Rooms are good and clean and the staff are super friendly. Location is great for Mainz and make sure you checkout the parks and different walking areas around the back that lead to some cool steps down to the city.

Wir waren für eine Übernachtung im Novotel. Das Zimmer war absolut in Ordnung, alles da was man braucht. Der Service war super nett und zuvorkommend. Frühstück sehr lecker, alles was das Herz begehrt gab es zur Auswahl. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können es nur weiterempfehlen!!!

Waren spontan in Mainz und haben dort übernachtet. Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück vielfältig und lecker. Hotelzimmer alles sauber. (Die Ausstattung ist nicht die neueste...aber trotzdem noch völlig in Ordnung). Danke...auch für die nette Unterhaltung (an den jungen Mann im Nachtdienst) :-). Wenn ich wieder mal in der Nähe sein sollte...würde ich sofort wieder dort übernachten.

The hotel is nice. Very clean, but basic and a bit dated. It is a very quiet location and very peaceful. A quick walk to the train station and the city center.

Awesome place to stay for business or leisure. Closed to City Center and quiet atmosphere.

Police work on Sunday Fireman work on Sunday Train employees work on Sunday Lufthansa employees work on Sunday Hotel counter people work on Sunday BUT the Dining room is closed all day Sunday. No food for the hotel guests. That stinks.

Hotel located close to train station and downtown. friendly staff. Rooms were clean but in need of update. Restaurant was fine for dining on site and coworkers that had breakfast felt it was a good value with many local specialties available.

Rooms simy put need updating. But the shower pressure is fantastic. Hairdryers are always missing the protective nozzles..so beware burned hair. Staff is wonderful, breakfast is well done

Awesome hotel in Mainz they offer a complimentary beer with the room and the rooms are fairly sized. Ac ain't all that great but the amenities are awesome! Great gym and sauna and spa. Unfortunately still closed cuz of covid but hopefully it will open again

No internet in room 366 to far away from signal. Fortunately desk can't help they are staffed alone. Black mold in shower, food not available. Please, stay else where you will be just as uncomfortable as I am now. Sad situation.
