Great place in good location to a nice large park! I was here for midsummer so it was very busy. However, I had just stayed in a hostel in Stockholm, and compared to Stockholm this hostel was not nearly as social. It might have been that there was the Bruce Springsteen concert so there was a lot of older people in the hostel from all over. But there was not much of a vibe. Barely anyone cooked and for me that is usually the best place to meet people. But the rooms were very clean. The hostel very modern, the staff was very friendly and it was an easy location from central station. About a 10min tram ride. I would recommend this hostel for sure. But if you are looking for a party and a place to meet others to go party this is not the place. Would HIGHLY recommend.

I really liked this hostel. It is clean, modern and cozy with an excellent guest kitchen and communal area. My bed in a 4 bed women's dorm was comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Nice area too - close to Haga and the city with lots of good restaurants nearby.

The staff is very friendly , the place is very clean and they serve amazing breakfast! - the toilets are shared between many people.

Super easy stay! I was backpacking around Sweden and Denmark with 2 friends and we stayed one night here in Gothenburg. We had a whole room (4 beds) to the 3 of us so there was plenty of space and even had a TV in the room to watch some Swedish TV. I'm specifically writing this review to say thanks to the super helpful hostel staff who shipped me my apple watch that I forgot in the room overseas to Chicago. I was worried that I'd never get it back because you know how things can go when you're backpacking around hostels but the staff was honest, nice and helpful in sending it back to me! Specifically, Linda, who I was exchanging info over email with trying to get the watch back. I couldn't be more grateful and satisfied with my stay here, 5/5 stars. Felt like it was easy to get all over the city from there and there was even a park a short walk away that had a really cool free-to-enter zoo inside that had a bunch of animals native to the area. Thank you so much to the people who work here, again!

Had a really great stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful with any requests. The room was well equipped with lots of storage and lockers you can use with your key card. The private shower rooms were modern, spacious and clean as well. The free Sauna is just the icing on the cake. Would definitely stay here again even if it does take some time to walk to the city; the neighborhood does have some great bars close by though.

Stayed here for a whole week, which sounds a lot, I was here for a competition and to enjoy the nature and the tranquility the town that could offer. The hostel has a great sauna and shower for guests to use, which was a wow factor for me as a first time Sweden traveller. The rest of the hostel was really clean and calm, even though it is requested that the hostel guests had to do the cleaning on their own. The staff were all very friendly, gave some tips on the walking tours and spots. The location was not hard to be found at all, and there were loads of resto, groceries and parks. It was one of the most pleasant stay and travel experience so far!

Stayed in a two bed room with shared bathrooms. Comfortable rooms and linens are provided (you have to put them on yourself) and bathrooms are clean and fully stocked. We had a desk in the room and two chairs. A mini fridge was provided and a full mirror with a small hangar section for clothes. Very comfortable and good front desk service. Tv provided in room as well. WiFi connectivity is strong. There’s a lot of amenities the hostel provides like a bar crawl (super fun, love the people I met). Kitchen is clean and fully stocked, we didn’t use it though.

Als Radreisende sehr zu empfehlen! Nah am Zentrum. Von außen überhaupt nicht ansehnlich, aber von innen super schön und sauber. In das Hostel kommt man nur mit Karte und diese wird nur für bestimmte Bereiche an der Rezeption aufgeladen. Somit kommt man nur in die Bereiche, wo man rein darf. Wir waren mit Rad und konnten unsere Räder im Fahrradraum einschließen.

Room was okay, a little worn down. All night the ventilation system made noises so it wasn’t easy to sleep. (Shared) Bathrooms were also worn down and not super clean. The sheets we were handed at the reception hat mold on them. It’s fine for one night but that’s it. Personell at the reception were very helpful and friendly.

The atmosphere is great and everyone is super friendly. I've had a lovely experience there. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

Traveling solo for 3 nights, comfy bed, big room (6 mixed dorm), privacy in the toilets, staff super friendly, clean sauna, perfect location.. Highly recommended!

Quite disappointed of the way we were treated when we arrived. The staff was not very friendly and they had cancelled our reservation (for valid reasons) but without telling us. We arrived thinking we had a room but we did not. As two young students travelling on a budget, paying for a more expensive room was tricky. The location is fine, but the hostel does not give a « young » vibe (no activities, meetings, etc). I would stay there again for the price though.

The room and facilities are very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Not too far from great locations when you come to visit. Definitely recommend this place.

Really wasn't that cheap. Consider a Airbnb if you're in the area. The communal kitchen is very nice, but the rooms are very small. + they were charging full price (which is kinda expensive) and they were renovating the windows at like 7am every morning. Hard to get some good sleep.

Booked durring summer, staff was friendly and easy to access. The rooms have all you need. Had absolutely no problem. Had a really lovely time staying at the hostel. Definitely recommend!

My favourite hostel in Gothenburg. The rooms, corridors, shared areas and bathrooms are clean. Great breakfast buffet. Sauna is free at certain times and available for private rent at a very reasonable price during the rest of the day. Friendly staff. I stayed in a female dorm I shared with a teenage? girl and her overbearing mother who seemed somewhat displeased that they didn't have the dorm to themselves - if you don't want to share a dorm, this hostel offers plenty of private rooms. (Before you ask whether I asked the reception to be moved away from them - no I didn't, first of all I felt sorry for the girl - if her mother acts like this around other people then I don't want to know what is she like in private, and second it wasn't the fault of any of the hostel staff)

Loved it here, the staff were so lovely and friendly. The rooms are pretty basic but exactly what i needed. Bathrooms were lovely and clean, kitchen was well stocked! Super easy to get to by tram

I just spent a few nights in Slottsskogens hostel and it was the perfect place to stay. It's very well located, close from the transportation and we can also easily reach the best places walking. The dormitories can host many people but every bed has its own curtain for privacy and the public rooms/ sanitaries were clean. Special mention for the different activities Francesco proposed : I had great times discovering nice places with nice people. Thanks for that.

The perfect hostel for traveling solo. It has such a nice common area for cooking and chill. And really comfortable beds :) Especially the organized events from Francesco are perfect to meet new people and offer you the perfect hostel experience! Such a nice atmosphere and great stuff! Absolutely amazing hostel! Location is great and central, rooms are comfy and clean and the atmosphere is fantastic! As a solo traveller I mostly appreciated the events the staff organised which were a great opportunity to get to know new people, the city and also get into the nature! Totally recommended!

The hostel is a nice and clean place! I've enjoyed so much the game night in the cosy common area and the international dinner at the park close by, both events were organized by the hostel staff. They have been friendly and always ready to help during my stay. I will definitely come back!

Found the staff very friendly and helpful. Although not a five star hotel,the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a variety of cereals and coffee and fruit juices was available. One could also make their own sandwiches. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Very kind and helpfull staff. The stay there is pretty economic and the rooms are quite good 👍 The location is also pretty convenient. It's a good choice for people who are traveling for both work and fun There's also an option for breakfast which is worth it!

Overall nice hostel with friendly staff and an awesome little wellness room with sauna :) The common areas for socializing was lacking a bit behind, which makes it harder to bond with other travellers. More feedback to the staff, thanks for a nice stay overall :) Pros - toilet and bath facilities was very nice and big - such a nice and cosy theme decoration with the trees! - free sauna was awesome!!!! Cons - The fridges was very dirty. - The kitchen was not equipped well enough, fx there was'nt enough glasses or bowls already when the kitchen was half full with people. There was no salt or oil for cooking, which is very inconvinient having to buy when youre here for a short stay. - the celler floor in the other building was not as cosy as the other floors. - the kitchen in the other building did not feel cosy or homy. No night lamps, not enough power outlets, cabinet not working, cramped room... Nice kitchen area though

Really loved our stay in the hostel. Rooms were pretty clean. Bedsheets and duvet cover was clean as well. The reception staff was very humble and polite. We reached earlier than the check-in time. They let us put our luggage in the store room while we went out for a stroll. The washrooms were outside in the corridor and each floor had a combined kitchen with all amenities. Cons: There was this bad smell in all the washrooms and kitchen as well. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd definitely stay here the next time I visit.

All of the staff we encountered were excellent - super nice and welcoming. However, we had a very unpleasant experience that I felt the need to post about due to the severity. As we were checking out (checkout instructions include strip the linens and return them, vacuum, take out the garbage, wipe the tables...) we were removing the sheets and checking under the beds before vacuuming when I pulled out a pair of used women's underwear from under one of the beds, a pair that was not mine. This led to many, many minutes of hand washing and as we were discussing this situation we realized that this is probably due to lack of thorough cleaning from the staff - if they clean at all after the guests vacuum and strip the beds. Especially during the pandemic, travellers should prioritize staying at a location that takes cleaning and sanitizing very seriously, and since it only took a quick check under the bed (they were right in the middle, not hidden or anything) it is clear that no staff member had done the same, including doing a follow up vacuum under the beds after the guest as they would have for sure found them. I would not feel comfortable staying here again and I would not feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. Again, I want to reiterate that the staff were super, super friendly, but asking guests to clean the rooms before check out is not good enough in terms of sanitization for the next guest, and finding this pair of underwear in a relatively visible place shows that not only the guest before us, but the staff, did not do a proficient job in cleaning the room. I want to stress that this is not just an issue of finding underwear under the bed (although that itself is pretty unacceptable when you're paying money to stay in a room), but that, during a pandemic especially, this room/whole hostel is clearly not cleaned very well.

Just literally the best hostel experience you can find, in the most beautiful Swedish town. Rooms are clean and fresh, beds are extremely comfortable with power outlets and nets to store your bed stuff, big space under the beds where you can safely leave your things. Amazing breakfast, Fantastic common kitchen, a free pool table (how cool is that), free sauna, exceptional position if you like walking just a little bit (and the park just near is incredibly nice and enormous). Friendly staff and low prices. Just go there

Perfect for solo travelling!!! 5min after checkin I already met people. The events hosted by the hostel are really nice to get to know people. I especially enjoyed the trip to a lake. The hostel itself makes you feel like home. Nice common-area with kitchen, couches and tables. Highly recommend!!

One of the saddest hostels we stayed in this trip. Rooms are given very little effort, honestly seemed like a long term care hospital unit. TV did not work, bathrooms were never cleaned and puddles everywhere. Had a street level room with no air flow but didn't feel safe leaving windows open. Very overpriced for the product. Service was really friendly but would recommend you just pay a little more for a hotel room.

Fantastic hostel with close to 20 years of history in a nice area of Göteborg. There is a tasty buffet breakfast option and a focus on keeping it environmentally friendly. A place to revisit.

I had the worst experiance ever.I travel eveywhere a years ago,never had worst hostel.They lie for all.l booked on expedia,they present theirself false.On expedia,they told,they are hotel NOT HOSTEL.They lie.Very poor and very bad for all criteria.We extra paid for towels,😡☹️they didnt have body shower gel and shampoo in the bathroms. When l booked,they showed room with the bathroom inside the room,on pictures looked very nice,when we checked in they gave to us room with shared bathrooms.😡 And the reception guy told:yes,we are hotel😡. Not recommended!We wasted money and time. Verrryyyy bad!!!!!

There is no ventilation at all in the hallways, you feel how humid it is, bathroom are really dirty as well and not all of them have a window. You have to put and take out the bed sheets. The day after I left, I started with a weird itching, there must’ve been bed bugs in the mattress. Would only recommend as your last resource in Goteborg…

Okay this is the hostel for you if you like very hot rooms and waveing your hands like a crazy person to turn the lights on while your on the toilet - i did not expect much from this hostel. I booked it a very short time in advance - the experience was mediocre. The bad: Room was VERY hot and humid! No window, just a loud fan. The lights in the bathroom turned of really quick and was not tuning on when i waved my hands about... Not optimal when on the toilet. The good: mostly clean! Nice kitchen to cook in and in close procimity to most things and public transport.

It was good but dirty showers with loads of hairs all the time… and also, very much like a hotel so not really made to meet up people ! But otherwise good staff and prices ! :)

Highly recommended, Clean organized, kind staff, and many many rooms, we were people and they give us a private room which can hold 4 people. The breakfast was amazing with many different options

If you just need a cheap place to stay for one night like i did you will enjoy it but i wouldnt recommand it to stay longer. + Very nice tea selection at the breakfast +Nice quiet location, just 15 minutes from the trainstation by bus + Very nice and helpfull stuff + Enough and clean bathrooms - the dorm had no window and it was written nowhere, so its getting pretty hot at night - the bread rolls at the breakfast tasted like they are from two days ago - you will have to clean your dorm on your own at the end of your stay - its not a good place to connect with other travellers as there has only been some school classes and a few older people

It is a nice place to stay and in a very convenient location near the centre of the city. I loved the common area where people gather together. Francesco, one of the staff, had organised a nice event there, and I met many people. If you want to stay in the city and attend some activities, I highly recommend Slottsskogens Hostel!
