Went for quick dinner at the cafe. Triple decker sandwich was served 1 hour after it was ordered. The toasted sandwich which was served was soggy and cold. Makes no sense. The hotel responded to my review. They comp our dinner, to which I appreciate but for future reference, they really need to improve their services.

I booked 3 rooms for my family, we couldn't get more than 1 access key, which made our mobility difficult, one room only got 1 access key, really ridiculous!, I booked 2 grand deluxe twin rooms and 1 family room, respectively room only got 1 access key, no sense! I ordered in-room dining service, the quality of the hospitality of the staff who delivered the food was very bad, the waiter was lazy and always made insincere expressions and looked very forced to deliver food, for a 4-star hotel, this hotel provided the worst experience for me in my life the hospitality of this hotel needs to be improved, so far below 4 stars hotel, we paid for 4 stars but we got 2 stars hospitality, shame

Upon entrance this hotel impresses with a beautiful lobby. It's clear glass walls facing the sea gives a great view. Service was good and we were given our rooms without much delay. The rooms looks nice and has a sea facing view with a sunset view. However upon a closer look, the carpets had stains in quite a few places. The pillows and bedsheets smelled a little musty and needs airing. Water was brackish brown but after running the tap for while it became clear. The hair dryer was not working. Breakfast buffet was good with a wide selection of asian n western items. Service was good and made guests satisfied. Need to make clear our orders. I ordered a piece of cheese cake as an after dinner dessert, but what came was a sponge cake with cheese shavings on top. They don't know what a cheese cake is. I regret to have mention these short comings but no malice intended, just want to highlight areas for Improvements. If not we won't comeback or recommend it. Great location, you can see the corniche and Fort Roterdam from the lobby. The room is spacious and clean and the staff treated us very well. We only stayed for 1 night , but this is a place for long time stay definitely.

Room with city view will get super hot inside if you are not able to leave AC on. When booking a superior room it will be right next to the elevator. To get some sleep you are forced to upgrade to deluxe (meaning extra charge). And to make it even more confusing. On the website it states incl. 5 piece laundry per day. As I am typing I am already having a discussion with all kind of managers for more then 1 and a half hours. This for me will be the last time I book on swiss-bel hotel anywhere in the world.

Enjoy really nice sunset while drinking a cup of coffee at the restaurant on the lobby floor. There is also a park downstairs near the beach. To the hotel crew, especially the security at front glass door, thank you for being nice to me during my stay in your hotel #817. Very good sunrise welcomed me in the morning.

Hotel location is good, near the beach. Beautiful sea view. The reception staff was not friendly, the check-in process took a long time. The room has lots of dirty spots, dirt marks, peeling walls. The elevator is very slow, the queue is long, too few for the large number of people. It seems like one of the less good SwissBel branches in Indonesia. Too crowded, so it's not enjoyable to relax in the restaurant.

Good Location, Too bad that the room that I stayed 1007 is poorly maintained, tha carpet looks dirty and feel dirty, I need to wear sandals in the room. Need improvement

Stayed at non smoking floor, but the whole room smells like hardcore smoking area. Complained 3 times, first at noon, second at evening and third at night. No technician or respond team, just told me they gonna check next room. My third complain was at night, suddenly someone knocked on my door (almost 1 hour later) . I was like yay finally some new. Nope. They only send 1 guy with a perfume spray. He been told my room need some spray.. I told him that I need person to check the smoking smell. He was like "oh, let me report to the manager" and left. Well. It's midnight and my room air still smells like cigarettes.

Terrific view of harbour. I recommend paying more for the view over the water. The rooms are of international four star standard and the staff are helpful. The breakfast buffet has some local food and I would recommend trying the dish called coto Makassar - a rice cube dish with shredded chicken soup.

The food was good decent and the service was very excellent. The staff was very patient and accommodating especially to my father’s specific needs and would always go out of their way to try and help. Great location. One issue I did have, one of the bathroom doors weren’t working properly. Otherwise, highly recommend.

Amazing view from room, but the service hospitality is very bad. Have been request for connecting room type, but actually they said full. They also charged when we borrow some cutlery (spoons), and it never happened in another hotel. Very slow chaeckin and check out. Room have many leak stains. Dirty bathroom and room (must request to be cleaned up)

already booked the hotel but upon check-in just to find out non-smoking room was not available, it could be my false not to request it and it was on peak day. The receptionist offered to inspect the smoking room and did it but not to my liking. The overall sense was inferior and decided to cancel the reservation.

Spent 5 nights here for business purpose. One of the best decision I made! It is by the sea with splendid view of sunset and only 200m away to Fort Rotterdam (you bave to pay extra for seaview room). For me who come from Jakarta, this hotel is very convenient to go around and pretty much close to many local food. About 1km away you can walk to Pantai Losari and enjoy local food. In front of hotel there are many food stall like Bakso Ati Raja, and very close to souvenir shop where you can get mostly everything. Room is very spacious and convenient. TV is yet android TV but they have various channel, which is okay. Air con working well. I stayed in room 1506, smoking room and I hardly smell smoke. Bathroom sink is clog in day one but the technician quickly settle it up. Bed and linens are perfect. Only minuses are 1) towel smell like not dried, if they give some laundry perfume that will be perfect 2) there is a crack in the glass window which make a kind of eerie feeling if we are close to the window 3) The lady greeter on breakfast area, you should put some smile and greet us the guest friendly. If you need us to pay, we will, worry not. Don’t treat us like we would like to steal something from buffet area. I saw she is asking a guest in a not nice way about whether a kid should pay additional for breakfast while I saw this guest with us the day before. Of course without smile 😑 Oh she did smile anyway - with her buddies. But not with us the guest. Overall, would love to come here again next time!

If you have business trip or take holiday in Makasaar, you have the best choice to stay here with sea-view room & variety of breakfast. It is also convenient to visit the center of city.

A quite comfortable place for meetings while relaxing. The best hotel location in Makassar and beautiful sea views at sunset. The reception staff is so friendly and helpfull. They can handle all problems and sudden needs well. The responsiveness of banquet services and the provision of meeting facilities need to be improved for the convenience of meetings.

Pro: > The staff is very friendly and did a very good job. > The location is pretty nice just a 2minute walk to the water to watch the sunset. > The bed is very comfortable. Con: > Elevators didn't work so we needed to use the service elevator and they were way to slow for the amout of people in the hotel. >We tried to use the staircase to get down (because of the elevator problem) but some of the fire exit doors are closed so in case of an emerceny its almost impossible to get out. >The sheets on the bed were dirty when we arrived, so we asked then to change then and that did only happen because we told them a second time (after waiting 3h) and then we got sheets that still had some marks on them. > The walls are very thin so we could hear the kids in the room next door scream all day long. > Half of the qym Equipment did not properly work. > Kids (maybe 5years old) were in the qym alone playing around (thats pretty dangerous) >The pool was crowded with kids so we could not really use them. >The fridge in the room did not work. > The whole hotel is really run down and I don't see how they justify the price. Breakfast costs another 150,000rp extra.

[Updated Review] Had a complaint about the room and the facilities, the management office immediately contacted me and helped us to get a better room. Really appreciate the quick response and solution. Kudos to Mba Samrah and Mas Yose from the front office management👍🏻 For those who want to have a staycation at this hotel, please choose the room with the Sea-view one. To me, the city-view ones are not suitable for staycation, but more for those who need the place just to sleep and explore the city more. The city-view room facilities need to be improved and need more lightings. The furnitures definitely need to be upgraded, or just put the room in a lower rate because not quite worth the money. The sea-view room is great with enough space and lightings, also felt a lot newer. Bathroom is spacious and clean. Location wise, perfect. Losari beach is just walking distance, also Somba Opu street, where you could buy local souvenirs and foods. There’s also a 24hrs CircleK in front of the hotel. The legendary culinary spots are also around and could be reached within 5-10 minutes. We tried the swimming pool, was great and it’s facing the sea. Quite crowded on the weekend, especially in the morning. From 10-11am it’s not so crowded and the sun is just slightly hidden behind the hotel building so it was still okay to swim. I thought it was one of best hotel in Makassar but I totally wrong. I never experience this bad when staying at hotels. Rooms are big, but bathroom smells bad. I called the staff to repair but no changes. Also one of my collega's room Air Conditioner was broken, so they had to move. I have been here twice, last at 2021 and now on Nov 2023. Last time at 2021, my room's AC was broken. I didn't mind. Now I stayed here almost a week but their elevator was broken and we had to used the staff elevator. It really took a long time to waiting to use the elevator. You can imagine, full room occupity of 20th floor hotels and ONLY USE 2 STAFF elevator that has NO AIR CONDITIONER its really hot inside the elv and on the waiting side 😡😡😡 I took more than 15 minutes waiting the elevator to go down. I'm upset on my last day here because they didn't seem bothered with guest complaint.🤬 I heard that it was broken for a month, idk why it took a really long time to repair. And the electricity was up and down, sometimes it black out frequently at midnight. And the breakfast are so-so, nothing interesting. Taste are standard. I hope you can improve this all. I won't come back here anymore.

We booked 3 rooms (2 superior + 1 deluxe room) from 3rd to 6th Jun 2023, in total 6 adults & 1 child (4 yrs old). When we went for breakfast, the hotel staff insisted to charge the breakfast for our 4 yrs old child. The reason is her height is beyond the limit. This hotel is located in a nice area, however, the hotel management is not flexible. I will not recommend guests with kids to stay in this hotel.

Clean room, spacious , friendly and courteous staff. Shower Towels could be better ( seem old ) breakfast selection is great for western taste but you must order croissants and cappuccino and wait a few minutes . Rooftop bar with band is great with live band and nice drinks. I recommend it .

This hotel is located at the centre so it is close to everywhere. The view from the room is very good. The room itself is clean and well maintained.

The location is perfect, room view are amazing, the building is quite new yet the service is a disappointment. I stayed twice and none were good. Room is spacious enough. They give me smoking room because no more non-smoking room available, and it smelled very bad. They promise to clean the air first, yet they only do the spraying which is not helping. The staffs are also far from helpful, especially those at the restaurant who keep busy chatting so I need to repeatedly ask to clean up the table. Breakfast are packed, not comfortable at all.

Through the room is cozy, but there's one thing disturbed me when I was open the door and come in the room, smelly from the bathroom makes me a little bit uncomfortable. I guess it happened because there's no air circulation in the room, then need alternatives ventilation while the electricity was down.

Hotel is nice and well kept, room was clean and staff tried to help wherever they could. Sometimes a little difficult as english language was not always known or only very little, however we always got what we needed (and we are foreigners, so it's fine, I do not expect to have english everywhere:-). First time in Makassar and had a very bad experience staying here. It’s ok when the front staff told us the non smoking rooms with carpet floors are full and we will get room with ceramic floor instead. We told the receptionist to keep our luggage at the lobby while we went out for dinner. Unfortunately, when we came back and went up into our room, floor was so oily and dirty, table was not properly mopped, and smelly bedsheets and towels. We asked the staff to upgrade our room but again, all rooms are full. What i can say is, you could’ve made some time to clean the room while we’re having dinner, since you’ve asked us if it’s okay if we got the ceramic floor room. It’s not okay to treat “OK we’ll get the ceramic floor room” from us as “let the room be how it is”. We paid 1mio rupiah per night for the room and these severe conditions are definitely far below our expectation of a 4 star hotel could deliver. We’re never coming back to this hotel and we will do immediate check out today and move to another hotel.

Last week we spent 4 days here, and fortunatelly our rooms had sea view. It was incredible. The room was quite large, but in the bathroom there was not hanger to hang our cloth. The restaurant was very large and they had many menues for breakfast and had a sea view. There were many sofas in the lobby. The location was near from Losari beach, so you can reach Losari by walking only in the morning, and the location was near with Toko Oleh-oleh Unggul, only 200m from hotel.

Nice location & beautiful view / scenery thru this hotel. Unfortunately the quality of the foods here is dissappointing, not up to Swiss-Belhotel supposed to be. But the live music & bar on the top floor is...........super cool.

Located near losari beach (10 mins of walking), spacy room, good amenities, great and many variatons of food. For best experience, I recommend you to book sea view room with balcony. You can get a beautiful sunset from your room!

Appalling room service. I asked for in room dining menu and they insist there is a QR code near TV yet there is none (see photo). They said they will deliver it to my room yet after half an hour nobody came. I called again, half an hour nobody came. Such abysmal experience in an otherwise nice hotel.

Location of the hotel is good even though we only used it to sleep between flights. It is located at 30min from the airport and it is pretty central in the city. We chose rooms with sea view and for non smoking people. Well. The rooms stinked of smoke and it took long time to get a new room, which anheah stinked of smoke. They came several time to just spray deodorant... Communication was difficult, their English was pretty poor. For the rest the room had what we needed and payed for...

Stayed for 2 nights and chose the sea-view room. What an amazing scenery! The staffs were very helpful, the breakfast was very delicious! There were fast internet access in-room and various TV channels.

The deluxe room is spacious with 2 options sea or city views. If you choose sea view, you can see sunset from your window. It is not kind of luxurious hotel..but still a good one and gives comfortness to stay. The breakfast menus are not extraordinary but still ok. You can have your breakfast with sea view. This hotel also has swimming pools.
