The hostel is located in the heart of the city. Easily accessible 1 star because # Air conditioning is available only from 5pm till 7am. # No portable fan in rooms and it’s freaking hot 🥵 # When questioned about a sense of portable fan on rooms; they showed me one in the common area 🙃. Why would I pay and sleep in common area . Makes no sense # The hot shower doesn’t even work. I guess they forgot to check it . Though we don’t need hot water during day due to massive heat outside. But how about at mid night or early morning shower ?? Ventilation is the principle thing for any hostel. And no wonder why I saw everyone in the common area for ventilation. Apart from this the rooms are well organized. Cleaning is perfect. Receptionist are out standing and very helpful. Manaus is pretty hot and ventilation is mandatory. If not air conditioning, a portable fan has to be placed inside the rooms.

One of the best hostels I've been to. Luiz (or Luis) was amazing! Very welcoming guy, great tips, great vibe, always listening to some local bands, love all about it. Bruna was great as well! Actually, all the staff. The place itself is great, my room was always clean, and the bathrooms sparkling clean. Lovely common area to socialise and meet people from all around the globe. No complaints whatsoever. If I come back to Manaus, and I will, I'll definitely stay there again!

I have booked the reservation through the hostel's website. At the moment to confirm the checkin and checkout times and flexibility for half a day in case I arrive earlier. On the website it is informing about half a day price, but at the time of negotiation, the attendant Bruna, informed that the website was outdated and that the hostel does not work with half a day prices, that after the pandemic period they changed the policy and forgot to update the website. In other words, false advertising. I requested the cancellation of the 2 nights which I had already paid and so far the amounts have not been refunded and no proof of cancellation has been sent so far. I'm here to prevent other people from going through the same discomfort I'm going through. Waiting for the chargeback to complete.

We stayed in the hostel in the family room and it was great, especially thanks to the friendliest receptionists in Brazil - Duane and Bruna, who were even nice to our crazy kids 🤣

Excellent and kind hearted people, they are so calm and explains everything in detail. Low price to stay, the accommodation was neatly maintained.

Please read before you stay here, it's very important!! I would definitely recommend avoiding Local Hostel at all costs. Local hostel, cofounded by Matheus Andrade, committed financial fraud against me and many others, its a criminal enterprise not a hostel. It's very unfortunate that this company chooses to rip their customers off and cheat them like this instead of just focusing on running an honest and ethical business. I stayed for one night at this hostel and they charged my credit card 22 times!! I had to cancel my credit card and submit a fraud report to my bank. Local hostel is a criminal organization that is stealing from people and they will certainly not last much longer while they commit crimes and engage in theft! While I was there, I also had accessories for my cell phone stolen from me. I asked several different staff, offering to pay whoever took it whatever price they anticipated selling it for, but I did not receive it back. I will include pictures demonstrating the evidence from my credit card statement showing their financial fraud. You've been warned, stay away from this place! If you do have the misfortune of staying here make sure you keep all your valuables with you all the time and make sure you pay cash do not give them any of your credit cards, they will attempt to scam you!! Be careful!!

Great stay here! Beds are comfy, the rooms are good and the main area has lots of space for people to hang out. It was cleaned every day and the showers have good pressure. There is only one shower with hot water (not a necessity in Manaus) but there was never a wait for it. Furthermore, the staff are great - super helpful and friendly

Very cool hostel! We stayed there for a night before a jungle trip and spent one evening after it (they charge a small fee if you want to hang out after you check out). We were lucky to be there for a barbecue night, food was very good. Staff was really helpful as well, they responded to my emails very quickly and gave recommendations on where to go in the city.

The people working here are super nice, open to help any moment with continuos smile on their faces. The hostel is clean and spacious. The pool has saved my life several times after all day walking durimg hot days.

Great Hostel with flair. What we liked most: -well located and safe -delicious local breakfast -super friendly and English speaking staff -option to drop luggage -rooms with private bathrooms (if you book it) Some points to consider: -if you come with jet lag and want to go to bed early it might be too noisy (music turned off at 10pm) -it is a hostel and not a hotel (you need to clean your dishes yourself by hand)

This place is everything a hostel should be. Chill atmosphere, functional wifi and a staff that is there to help you have a good time. I had some scheduling issues and the staff was really flexible with timing and extremely responsive. I stayed solo in one of the private rooms which was as nice (maybe nicer) than a lot of hotels I've stayed in. Really great, I feel like these guys should give lessons to other hostels.

This is an amazing Hostel in Manaus. Very clean! AC in all the rooms, plenty of accommodations, in a very central location. Prices are extremely reasonable. Bruna at the front desk was so helpful and kind, she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable!

The staff are amazing! Great location right off the theater square.
