Boring for adults. Very small zoo, most animals are alone in their cages which is sad to see. You can visit everything within 20 minutes. I almost didn’t take any photo because most of the time the cages block a good view on the animals.

This zoo was maintained and ran by the military and most of the animals were rescues from illegal trading. This is a great thing, but the maintenance was not up to par. The sidewalks were all uneven, there was trash everywhere and the cages could use an updating. There was ample rust on some of the cages and other visitors screaming, throwing things into the cages and trying to provoke the tiger. The entire time I was there, I didnt see anyone tending to any animals. It was a bit concerning. But the price was cheap. 5 Reals

A place more for families with children (playground + large figures of animals for photos). For tourist - hard to say, I spend 3 weeks in Manaus, so I had time to see a lot of places, that is NOT a 'must see'. Price - 20R$ For a zoo, it has very few animals. Basically just monkeys (several varieties), wild cats (jaguars, puma, black panther), few birds (parrots, macaw, toucan, with 3 other species), 1 alligator, quati, some wild pig varieties, 1 boa snake, 1 genus of land turtles. Some places were empty. Some places did not have informations about animals. The aquarium building was under renovation so not available. 2 information and educational pavilions. There is also a cafe/bar (I didn't check the prices), a toilet and a shop where you can buy honey from the zoo's beehives. My visit lasted less than 1.5 hours (taking photos and a longer stop at the jaguars)

Animals closed in small boxes, unfriendly staff, a small number of animals, batterflies and insects only died in glass-cases. Price is now 20 reals, 10 reals for students. Better visit Presidente Figueiredo Waterfalls or have trail into the jungle!

The In the midst of a steaming Manaus lies this hidden gem and although maybe not everybodies cup of tea they do house animals that one would expect to see in the Amazon. However one would really never get to see them even if out on jungle treks. Under the management of the military they undertake some great work in looking after injured animals as well. Enjoyed my visit, was informative and nicely laid out. Easy to reach, on all the bus routes.

This place is truly amazing. There is a lot of animals here. Everything is clean and the water that you can buy is really cold. It's perfect.

Hard to see and picture the animals. The cages are small and animals are alone. Our guide said something about the animals being rescued. It's not the best zoo.

Took my 5 year old niece and nephew. I was expecting to see a bit more animals. We were excited to see the black panther but they didn't have it or it was sleeping somewhere hidden. Overall a good fun quick experience with kids.

A small zoo with limited animals but wonderful ambience. It's taken care by the army. One can find the special species of the Amazon in the zoo The locals call the anaconda as succri ,three of the type are being maintained. The black panther was another species of interest and also a variety of the monkeys, anta and those that found in the Amazon could be located here. The zoo is good to see when visiting Manaus. The entry fee is 5 rials and it's worth it.

Great place to visit if you have time to spare in Manaus. I went to explore the different animals they have in the Amazon region and it was incredible to see the jaguar and black panthers, along with the monkeys, turtles, and exotic birds. It looks like they take good care of the animals here ♥️

Zoo of local rescued animals. Really interesting to see up close. The card processor is finicky so bring cash.

Older zoo. Not well maintained. Most animal exhibits in cages. Those in habitats are not well maintained.

This is a really interesting place, and run by the military! Good value for the money and a lot of interesting animals you won't see in other zoos
