So good food stuff here and a wide menu choices range to have at most times of day, a good spot next to the tram and not too far away from the trains and buses too. Looking forward to another trip to have another purchase of food and drink again soon.

Had lunch there today on the hottest day of the year it was lovely and cool inside. We had the chicken and vegetable skewer and halloumi skewer salads and we all thought they were delicious, could not fault them. The staff were very friendly too. Highly recommend, it's our go to place for lunch in Manchester.

The place is lovely. I used to go there a lot a few years ago, then went away so stopped. I went back today for a pizza because theirs are crunchy. The chef was adorable and we improvised that pizza I wanted for a takeaway (picture), totally yummy. The whole staff there is extremely nice and have always been. The decor is lovely but with all the tables occupied not exactly possible to take pictures. Always spotlessly clean, too.

Great deals on with wine bottle for price of two glasses. Also pizza deal with free drink. Cask ale was faultless and staff spot on. Usually meet up here and go on a crawl but last time stayed a few hours which speaks volumes.

Wonderful choice of award winning Holts bitter. Went on my birthday to sample food and drink. We were not disappointed. Fabulous food and service from the staff was wonderful. Will go again without doubt. Chilled for a pint on your own at whatever time of day as well as a cheeky lunchtime wine with your food. Great place. Enjoy!

Nice clean well presented pub close to the shopping centre. Food was nice and a reasonably choice available. Nice well kept ales. Staff very attentive. I will certainly go again when in Manchester.

Pizza plus fish and chips and 3 drinks for under £30. Brisket pizza, perfect dough, tomato sauce and toppings. Holt's ale is the best in the region if not country. The Black is sublime. And a warm welcome too. Cheers.

We had a brilliant experience at this family-friendly pub in the centre of Manchester. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the pub grub was excellent. A perfect spot for families to enjoy a good meal together!

Can be a very busy pub today was just nice. Found a table no issue. The place is clean and tables cleared and cleaned often. Toilets also very clean lots of choices of drinks reasonably priced we didnt eat today as main menu finished early and only pizzas available. Will be back.

Yesterday we ordered a grill mix, it was ready within minutes, but not worth it for a small piece of beef, extremely over-salted pork, a tomato was just slightly touched by grill, and the onion rings were poor quality. The drinks may be better though.

I had lunch at Crown & Anchor for three reasons, the location that was quiet and just a few feet away from all the hustle and bustle of people, I could sit outside and because the menu had items that I could eat and hopefully enjoy as well. You order at the counter and they bring you the food to the table. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the steak 🥩 kabob with vegetables well prepared and tasty as were the fries, soft and crispy and not greasy 😋👍🏻🫶

I go here with friends after catching an evening show as it's always quiet, even on weekends, which is fine for us. Most of the staff are fine and friendly, but I was taken aback at how rude one staff member was when I asked for a herbal tea one evening. I've been to loads of pubs with friends where sometimes we just sit with soft drinks, especially after something tame like a play or movie. The bartender snorted and asked what I was doing to myself (implied: for not drinking). I think he felt guilty after he made that comment, but I wish he would have apologised. It's a strange attitude to have given that we were still going to be paying customers and not everyone has to drink *all the time*.

Nice pub, the food I had was great though. Black pudding in batter with poached egg. Bloody good.

Used to be excellent and good value for money. The portions now are measly to put it mildly e.g. a chicken wrap = the smallest wrap you can buy with chopped up chicken bits in it. Chicken wings = 3 for nearly £5. A small bowl of chips = about 10 chips nearly a fiver. Drinks prices significantly increased too. Used to love this pub we avoid it now.

I went yesterday, it was very busy and food wasn't that bad. nachos are nice, the kebabs are nice however letting the oil and grease run onto the chips is wrong. salads are dosed in dressing and do taste nice. this place has certainly improved since the last visit.

Nice place and dog friendly. Only downside is no Real Ale, otherwise it would have been 5 stars

Think we went on a bad day as one chef hadn't turned in and food took awhile and some people didn't get any but I'm presuming that as it was packed it's usually very good. We got there as it opened so our fish and chips were great . Felt sorry for owner /manager having to tell people.

Excellent pub, eatery close to Victoria Station and the Christmas Market Square. Good selection of beer and real ales from Joseph Holt. Food looked good all round and the 4 of us who had firecracker chicken were well impressed.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
