Celebrated our 13th anniversary at Hawksmoor today! Now I might not be the most reliable source because this is where we prefer to spend most anniversaries! BUT! Today was extra lovely! The food was amazing! Our waiter was amazing! The staff all made us feel like we're friends with every added personal touch! Everything from arrival to departure was fantastic and to top it off our waiter arranged shots which he had to create to give me a taste of my Motherland! Wow! Thank you so much for an excellent afternoon!

The best steak I’ve had. We had a selection each cut was cooked perfectly, so much flavour and seasoning and then melts in the mouth when eaten. The starters were great the pork ribs superb and the bone marrow was something a bit different. The service was good. Not bothered too much but very attentive and was there whenever we needed. The ginger beee drink we had was really good as well highly recommend.

What an incredible restaurant. The decor and ambience just puts you in the right mood for a grand feast. This was undoubtedly the best fillet steak I've ever eaten and Wholeheartedly recommend the oysters, Vietnamese style. Service was superb and drinks not at all expensive. Highly recommended!

As ever with Hawksmoor, fabulous steak. This experience was really great to us thanks to Benedicts amazing service. Knowledgeable about anything on the menu and a pleasure to be served by. Always order the sticky toffee pudding. Trust me.

U N R E A L! Went for a private function through work and my gosh was amazing. All served medium rare and it was to die for. From the sirloin, ribs and rump definitely a meat lovers dream Enjoyed the Yorkshire starter as well. Good to see the Midlands are able to make good Yorkshire Puddings. Finished off with the sticky toffee pudding. Belly definitely filled and happy that eve.

Best Roast Dinner Both the food and the service was exceptional. This has to be the best Sunday roast in City Centre. We got the beef rump roast with all the trimmings. It comes with biggest Yorkshire pudding you’ll ever see ha. We also ordered celeriac mash and sausage, stuffing and mac n cheese for sides. It was more than enough for the both of us. As for the service, it’s 5 star, the staff are super friendly and very helpful. All in all not too be missed

Great meal after work. Service was very relaxed and super efficient. The menu is super with lots of options for the steak lover. Settled on the ribeye. The wine list was very good. Thanks for looking after us, I will be back to one of your other venues.

Just posting my review now (this was from a few weeks ago). This place is absolutely amazing, I had heard great things about this restaurant but my expectations were over met for sure. The service was brilliant. The food was so flavourful and to be honest I’ve never had a better meal than it. The chips were to die for. The only note I could make is that the cocktail menu is too small, I would love to see more of a selection in the future.

You won’t be regrets making either of the three sharing steak: Prime rib/ Chateaubriand/ Porterhouse ( Prime rib is personally the best) 5/5 for service and mock tail drinks. 5/5 for the steak and food 5/5 for the ambience Will come back again.

Incredible food, incredible experience. So good we went there multiple times over the space of a month. Staff and servers are amazing. It does get very busy so advise to book in advance.

Would defintiely go again, the staff were incredibly lovely and engaged in conversation as well which was nice. I was recommended the sticky toffee pudding beforehand and I can see why. Depth of flavour in the sauce is incredible. The pork belly starter was also really good, the balance of Asian flavours was spot on.

I visited this restaurant twice last week for friend’s gathering. Everything was way too salty and all the beef steaks were over cooked. I asked for a medium rare and it became well done. So as my friend’s one! Service was not great. Staffs were not genuine and they really rushed you for taking order. It wasn’t value for money at all!

Great girls night out, celebrating our first get together after 14 months of lockdown. It did not disappoint, the service was excellent usual , we had champagne in the bar before being shown to our table. Ordered wine with our meal, one of my friends had scallops, the other had fresh salmon & I had mackerel. For main, 2 of us ordered lemon chicken, the other monkfish. We ordered a selection of sides to share, unfortunately, we forgot to take photos of it before eating, but it was good. Of course we had to finish the evening with dessert. Enjoy the photos. Would always recommend Hawksmoor because the standard of customer service is always on point and the quality of the cuisine is second to none!

The service was excellent and the food was stellar. I had the smoked mackerel salad pictured below which was a generous portion of potatoes and fish. We both had rib eyes for mains, medium rare, and they were perfectly cooked and soft. The peppercorn sauce is great accompanying. We had asparagus and creamed spinach as sides and they were delicious. One of the best steaks I’ve had.

Popped in for lunch with my better half today. We are quite well versed in dining out, it's a shared passion. We were served by a gentleman called Danny and he was thoroughly well versed in the menu, attentive and I actually thanked him for the experience before we left. Food was exquisite, Diane sauce on the fillet with bone marrow and the brie mash... Those scallops too! Images to follow. One shall return. James

If you’re looking for a relaxed atmosphere with friendly attentive waiting team serving amazing food you’ve found it at hawksmoor! I tried the lunch special- £16 for rump steak chips and salad. For a part of the meat with not much fat my rump was beautifully fatty! Quirky selection of cocktails and drinks, this place ain’t boring

Whenever we are in Manchester we visit Hawksmoor. The atmosphere and food are always fantastic. Last night however we had exceptional service from Pete Gallagher who was brilliant and really made our night. The whole team deliver a great experience and this is what makes us come back over and over again. Quite easily the best restaurant in Manchester and the best Hawksmoor in the UK for sure!

Without a doubt the best steak I've ever eaten. Special mention to the helpfulness and attentiveness of the staff, clearly a carefully crafted experience from the moment you walk in the door. Not at all cheap, but well worth the money for the quality on offer throughout.

My husband and I came to Hawksmoor to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Staff was so attentive and helpful in making sure all my dietary requirements were met due to me being pregnant. I can definitely say it's the best steak you will ever try. Sticky toffee pudding is a must too! Would highly recommend.

We had a really good time at Hawksmoor. I'd heard so many good things about the place and it really delivered. Every member of the team was lovely and welcoming, even the nice chap at the door had a warm smile and waved us off when we left. The gentleman who served us (his name was Kuba on the receipt) was exceptional. Friendly, attentive, he was patient enough to explain about how each cut differed in price based on size. As for the food - it was MEGA!!! Lobster starter with plenty of meat to go at then Chateaubriand main with chips, mash, greens and peppercorn sauce. Zero complaints from us. Plenty of nice drinks available too. The Hawksmoor lager was a nice accompaniment. These days you get what you pay for and at Hawksmoor you pay a reasonable fee for a cracking meal. I can't wait to return. Thank you for having us 🙂

Nice restaurant in the city centre. The food was good and staff very welcoming. The reason its not 5* is because it was noticed that the wine we were served had sediment and the bottle was not replaced, the staff took it away to drain/filter it somehow and it was re-served to us.

Had the most amazing final dinner in Manchester before flying back to Australia. The staff were so informative and friendly, the food was simply superb, and we received several “surprises” throughout the night, including champagne, starters and dessert. A special thank you to Ryan and Andrew. Thank you so much for your amazing hospitality! James and Katie 🇦🇺

Recently had the pleasure of dining at Hawksmoor, the second-ranked steakhouse in the world, and let me tell you, it was an honor to be there. I highly recommend the crab on toast and the beetroot salad – they were phenomenal. Now, onto the steak. While the taste was impeccable, I must admit the presentation was a bit lackluster. Just a plain piece of meat on a plate felt a bit underwhelming. A touch of gravy or some tomato slices could've really elevated the dish visually. Nonetheless, the steak itself was cooked to perfection (I ordered it medium). However, soon after eating, I had to dash to the restroom, which made me question their cleanliness standards. Hopefully, they'll take extra care in the future.Despite that, it was amazing and I recommend anyone to visit here.

First time here after a few friends saying it was great. Thought we'd treat ourselves for valentines. Definitely 5 stars, if I could give more I would. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff were all friendly and attentive. Shout out to our server Carmen here as well. She was lovely with a great sense of humour! We went for the prime rib and a few sides. Meat was cooked to perfection and everything tasted great. Ace cocktails as well. It's a bit pricey but completely worth it!

I’ve been here few times and love it. Service is very good and food is tasty and delicious. We went for Sunday roast this afternoon, beef was tender and pink however the Yorkshire pudding was on brown side than golden and this was a let down. Pear and honey cheesecake is worth it to try if you are cheesecake fan!

I’ve tried every where for food in Manchester and this is the best by a mile! From the minute you walk in the door you feel so welcome, staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is out of this world never tasted a steak so beautiful. Even the Prosecco was the best I’ve ever had! You have to come here, what a wonderful night for my birthday.

Try hard to find any review with less than 5 stars. Good luck. From the minute you enter the building to have your coats checked, to the minute you pick them up again, you are in for a fabulous time. The service really is second to none, each member of staff look after you superbly. They are very engaging. Starting off with a cocktail (it was divine and everyone of my party who tasted it agreed) we were shown to our table and Ryan explained in detail about the menu and the cooking of the meats etc. I had the potted bacon with Yorkshires to start followed by sirloin steak (fantastic pepper sauce) and the triple cooked chips are from heaven. Maple tart to finish. All I can say is its a fantastic dining experience and I'll most certainly visit again. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for. A great night.

We came here for a birthday meal and it was fantastic. We had Juan as our server and he was incredibly polite, friendly and attentive. Food was top notch. We had potted beef and old spot ribs for starters; 2 sirloins (rare and medium), chips, Mac and cheese, garlic mushrooms and creamed spinach for main. Steaks were perfectly cooked! A truly exceptional dining experience

Visited Hawksmoor yesterday for our anniversary meal, I noticed on Instagram They didn’t serve the Bone Marrow pie with croissant crust on Sundays, so I called up last week and asked would they kindly make an exception - They did! It was AMAZING! We had Oysters, Beef and Potted bacon with mackerel salad for starters! We really didn’t need that much food! It was worth the over the full belly’s! They brought over a desert for us to share as it was our anniversary! All in all, a perfect trip to Hawksmoor :)

I had the pleasure of experiencing Sunday lunch at Hawksmoor in Manchester, and it was truly a delightful culinary journey. The star of the show was undoubtedly the rump beef, which was cooked to perfection and impressively tender. Each bite was a burst of flavour, leaving me wanting more. We did consider the other cuts but were slightly out of our price range. So if you are on a budget stick to the very reasonable £25 Sunday lunch option which come with rump. The roasties were an absolute delight. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, they provided the ideal complement to the succulent beef. Another standout was the massive Yorkshire pudding - a true showstopper! To accompany our meal, we opted for a delicious bottle of italian red wine, and we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced it was. The ambience at Hawksmoor was warm and inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a Sunday lunch. The staff was attentive, and their knowledge of the menu was impressive, making the entire dining experience smooth and enjoyable.

The dining experience was lovely, the staff went above & beyond, moved me and my partner to a corner table without us requesting it so we could sit closer to each-other. They also helped with a personalised desert. The food was delicious.

Had one of the best dinning experience with my husband. Our first holiday day was truly unforgettable one. Food and service was honestly a first class. We will be definitely coming back for more.

1st time to a Hawksmoor & won't be the last. Food was superb as was the service. We went for the standard £25 roast. A bottle of house white was £38 (a bit weighty), had a side of Cauli & 1 desert between us & the bill was basically £100 + service charge. Had mentioned on the booking that it was a 50th & we got a couple of free sides & the desert was 'decorated'. They do a bring your own bottle on Mondays (£5 corkage pp) which is good...but doesn't help when you want the Sunday Roast! which was gorgeous. Everyone was very friendly & helpful.

Hawksmoor Manchester is without a doubt the best dining experience you could wish for. Masterful hospitality and exceptional mouth watering dishes from start to finish. Our server Peter made us feel at home and knew the menu inside and out. As a first visit we received a couple of sides complimentary to pair with the steak, do not miss out on the creamed rosemary spinach and garlic butter mushrooms! Now onto the comatose of the Manchester streets with a lingering sense of happiness and satisfaction from the door of Hawksmoor. 10/10

Fantastic steaks with great service from the staff. The steaks can be a bit pricey depending on the size that they have on the day but it is definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

Costly but absolutely worth the price. The food and service were exemplary. Plenty of drink top ups as we needed them, the servers are attentive and engaged. My steak was cooked to perfection and my god, the scallops were the best I've ever had.

Was lucky enough to be treated to Hawksmoor for my birthday. We sat in the bar the whole evening and it was perfect. Our server was fantastic- he literally couldn’t have done any more for us. The drinks were ace as was the music. I asked for the chefs to be told just how much I enjoyed the food - because it really was spot on - and their response was “just doing our job”. Definitely the best steak in Manchester.

Service was great (the masks make it really difficult to server, not their fault) great steaks, super tender. It Could do with a big “neon esq“ sign with the name of the restaurant as it’s very easy to miss. The interior is a bit dark (the second restaurant in Manchester I’ve been to that’s quite dim 😒 one thing is ambience the other is dim) staff were great. Probably go again

We had an excellent time. Fillet steak caused me to have some sort of spiritual awakening it was that good. Our waiter Edwin was fantastic, always topping up water, quick to get drinks and knew what to reccomend. Well be back soon.

Fantastic restaurant, with excellent service. I would never pick a rump steak at the supermarket as think they are the worst cut, so decided to see if this place could convert me. I couldn’t believe it; what they served up was closer to a fillet! Absolutely stunned. Soft, melt in the mouth steak, and being one of the cheapest cuts, this is what proves their excellence for me.

Great place. Fantastic service. Had sirloin steak served perfectly. Prices are reasonable. Very popular place so book well in advance for Saturday nights. Great to sit in the bar for a few pre and post dinner drinks. And the chips in dripping are the best.

Visited for lunch. Express menu was 2 course's for £22 which is pretty good value for money. Steak was a rump which was very tasty, and the sides and sauces were great too. All the staff were very friendly, and everyone said hello as you walked past, even the chefs in the kitchen. Would definitely return.

Lovely vibes, good light levels, good volume of music. Absolutely packed out which is great for ambience. The waiting staff are super knowledgeable and great at recommending. Had the prime rib which was 900g on the night, beef dripping fries, jersey royals, buttered greens, Caesar salad and the bone marrow gravy and peppercorn sauce. We were fairly hungry and we absolutely demolished it. The steak was perfection and all the sides were just prepared perfectly. Ambassador for desert to share which is just the cherry on top!

Incredible food and service - both steaks were perfectly cooked, loads of great sides and sauces were beautiful. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Went for the first time on a Sunday so i ordered the Sunday roast. It was 10/10. Succulent steak and a nice balance with the potatoes and huge Yorkshire pudding. Ordered the mac and cheese and extra chips which were average. Drinks were alright too. Staff were very chatty and friendly. Huge downside was when i asked for a straw and the straw i got given had fluff in it. Unhygienic and i would have swallowed had i not checked. It put me off my entire meal and i ran to the bathroom to spit it out. The bathroom was like a maze to find. It was located underground and was so eerie. The atmosphere of Hawksmoor is also very casual. It was a hall filled with seats. The food tasted good but dont overdress, ask for a straw or use the bathroom and you’ll be good.

  • 3/5 Beard B. 1 year ago on Google
The atmosphere is fantastic and the service was on point, the steaks were cooked how we requested, unfortunately they didn't have the side I wanted, I was offered an alternative which was average. The salad was a bit small. The steak was flavoursome but not amazing, my opinion is that it is a bit over priced for the portion size and quality. Lots of people rave about this place so worth a visit if you want to splash the cash on some big steaks.

I came for a celebratory dinner following my graduation. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel incredibly welcome by all of the lovely staff. Our waitress Issy was fantastic, offering in depth advice on which steak would best suit our preferences. The food was absolutely incredible, and the building and atmosphere were also fantastic. Issy went above and beyond, surprising us with a special plate of 3 cocktails with an all around the world theme. This was incredibly thoughtful as I am a Geography graduate and can't eat dairy. It was genuinely the sweetest and most touching thing I've ever experienced at a restaurant, and truly made the meal special! Thank you so much

I've have been to the London branch several times and impressed at each outing. However Manchester branch was the best I've had so far, the staff, food quality and venue. It really is a fantastic restaurant and although clearly the steak is the star of the show, the crab starter, variety of sides we had were excellent. It is expensive, however it defines the meaning of you get what you pay for.

The best steak (Porterhouse) we have ever had. Lovely personable service by India. Great choice of sharers and sides. Cocktails definitely need some work as price is higher but taste is worse than local competitors. Overall though, can recommend this steakhouse! Will be back for sure.

Exceptional food and service. Had the 1kg rare breed porterhouse and it was amazing. Together with £5 corkage the bill was reasonable for such an amazing meal. Was busy but felt socially distanced as well. Can't wait to go back

Without a doubt one of our favourite steak restaurants! We've eaten in Hawksmoor in New York and London but Manchester is our firm favourite. Warm and friendly from start to finish. Warm welcome on arrival from Reception. We had a drink in the bar for the first time, we normally go straight through to the table. Lovely bar area, attentive, friendly staff. We were shown through to the table and were looked after by a superb waiter, I can't remember his name but he was brilliant. Very knowledgable on the menu and recommendations, we are creatures of habit and generally order the same thing, fillet tail. However it was out of stock, we were like oh no. The waiter assured us the rump on the set menu was just as good so we took his advice and it was very very good, he wasn't wrong. The potted beef and bacon with Yorkshires as a starter is an absolute must try, we love it, the mackerel salad was lovely too. No room for dessert! Extensive wine list, lots of great choices and if you need a helping hand in choosing the staff are on hand to help. Fabulous staff, great drinks and absolutely amazing food. Highly recommend, it's one of the best, you will not be disappointed!
