Possibly one of the worst places to go out in Manchester, dreadful service for bar staff so up themselves and wrapped up in their indie bubble they pretty much always look down on you. It's also ridiculously overpriced for Manchester. Then they have the cheek to get on their uber-leftie political high horse all the time....down with the system...down with the rich...sorry with the prices you charge...you community owned and not for profit then? Oh sorry you're not are you, you're a chain and some guy earning a nice wedge for himself!! Unbelievable hypocrisy! Steer clear and kick these lot out of Manchester!!

We have been here many times, but last night the service was awful, I will never come back. I have worked 10 years in hospitality, and I know when a service is good or bad. There were 2 bartenders all the time and no more than 3 tables of couples, and it was not table service. We were overcharged on our first round of drinks, and charged two pints instead halves, when I asked for it, the bartender was so rude, no apologies, nothing, he just return the difference. In our second round, we ordered food too. After 45 minutes of waiting, we asked for the food, he said there are on their way (rude mode on). After more than an hour, we saw the chef was cleaning the kitchen, so we asked again, and he just said: "it looked like we forgot your food, I will refund it." No apologies, nothing. Obviously, we had been charged 10% of the service charge in our bill (happy to pay when there is a "service")

I visited this place at 2am on a Wednesday with my heavily pregnant wife/sober driver. After a few wonderful beers from their extensive and well priced selection and some conversation wife my beautiful wife who has a licence about peep show. Unexpectedly she began a heavy and quick labour, i was a few shandys in at this point and quite understandably panicked. But thankfully and heroically most of the bar staff where trainees in midwifery and the bouncer is a full fledged doctor. My third beautiful daughter was delivered right there and then, expertly diligently and with enough time to get the 192 home. Shes called sandy 10/10

Absolutely incredible tacos, the homemade tortillas really made the difference, and really reasonable prices. Shame about the bartender with a bit of an attitude problem making really unnecessary snarky comments at our order, the other staff were really warm and helpful! Recommended!

Surprisingly Great food. Small potions a la tapas. Good beer selection.

I love this little bar! It’s ideally situated just off St Ann’s Square. Great range of beers and cocktails. It has a laid back atmosphere l, with wood panelling and vintage posters. They have seating outside and it’s lovely to sit out there watching the world go by. The food isn’t great, often under seasoned. I’ve had the beef tacos which were quite flavourless. I’ve also tried their croquettes which were ok but not seasoned well. The food is better if you get drunk first! ; ) Staff are always super friendly and knowledgeable. Last time I was there a lovely barman recommended and made us a mocktail which was really tasty. Defo check it out if you want a beverage!

Would not recommend the bottomless brunch. They take ages to bring your drinks (to slow it down on purpose), only one drink at a time and you have to drink it slowly otherwise they won't bring you the next one. Food is also ON TOP of the drinks. Not good.

Had an overnight (Thurs) stay in Manchester and was looking for a nice place to drink. Many places were closing (quite early) but was recommended to come here. Was fabulous. Old Fashioned's were best I have had. Was even a competition between staff to see who could make us the better one. Will be back. Thanks.

Avoid the £10 lunch menu. If you fancy a kid portion served on a tiny party plate that wouldn't feed a sparrow. Pleasant enough staff. Forgot our Gordo's.

Great atmosphere. Gorgeous food & drink. & I like how it's in a hidden spot. Just makes it a little bit more interesting. 😅 brilliant.

Stopped here with our son for a quick drink, b4 going elsewhere. Good and friendly service from staff and an excellent soundtrack playing in the background 👍 Will be back.

An extremely rude and condescending waiter served us last night. Right off the bat he complained about a table sitting opposite us describing them as *c-words* before turning his attention to us. He mocked us for looking underage but when we told him we could show him ID (as we were a group of 21-23 year old) he condescendingly noted how we “must be really happy to get it out for the first time”. His whole attitude was really off and made us feel really uncomfortable and as if we had done something wrong. Was a disappointing and upsetting experience for a friends birthday.

Great place!! Soon as walk in you get that old school leather smell. Is amazing see a contrast between pub/Street grub inside a lovely old building with great atmosphere and character food is amazing just wished I said no cheese not much of a fan myself but I can't hold that against them as the food and drinks were spot on, would recommend a visit while exploring Manchester

Some of the best nachos I’ve had in Manchester. Flavour and portion size on point. Great value. Dim the bulbs a bit and you’ve got a really lovely venue. Great craft beer on tap too.

Don’t usually go for the food. But tried it last night and it was excellent! The sweet potato fries and the spice bag were so good. It’s an excellent place to go for a drink and a chat with great atmosphere and ample seating. Lots of choice for drinks too.

Absolutely quality place, Elliot made the place feel like a home from home! Everyone needs to come here if you like any form of ale!!! I love my IPA’s, and my fruity beers, but this place was something else! We spent so much money as we’re big drinkers!

There are far better bars in this location. St Ann's Square has several bars with better atmospheres although Sandinista does have a good choice of beers and cocktails. We were out for a friend's belated 21st birthday so wasn't expecting too much on a Thursday night. We went to several bars during the evening.

Nice friendly doorstaff, and clientele all up for partying as we came here pretty late at night. We enjoyed our time, but sadly there was some major drawbacks. Firstly, the male barman, was absolutely fed up and passive aggressive to everyone within our group of 7. We assume he was having a bad night. The second was that out of a huge board of beers, they'd ran out of all but one... disappointed but would return when it's functioning on a better night.

A very nice vibe going on in Sandinista. Get here early on Friday afternoon and you won't be disappointed... chill with a nice draft beer - great selection of around 15 on draft and a not half bad bottle fridge. Don't forget there's a secret bar downstairs! Shhhh

Decent late night option. Guinness on draft (not just yellow stuff like most places). Friendly door staff. No cocktails at 3am (why?!). Decent tunes. It’s as Spanish as a Cornish pasty but hey. Pretty good 👍

Ok, can we start by saying it is the best chicken tacos in the city if not in the UK. True corn tortillas, coriander, lime and all the good stuff. The food was great all throughout, we took tacos, totopos, pardon peppers and quesadillas. The Paloma Anderson cocktail was lovely and refreshing. To top it all we had to order a second dose of the tacos. Love the atmosphere, selection of beers and the service. How come we haven't been here before? Ohhh and it is not only dog friendly, Hertzel got treats before the humans. ❤️❤️❤️

Nice little pub, but it’s meant to be Spanish. Really giving of English pub vibes with pop music. Drinks were nice, good selection

Visited Tuesday night, end of Aug. Nice little place. Good music, laid back vibe. 2 staff members on our visit, one of which (the guy) was super friendly and welcoming. Other (the lady) was miserable and very unapproachable. Drinks were OK and reasonably priced. Sat outside and quite a lot of dirty glasses left around from previous visitors which wasn't nice to sit around, but inside was fine. Review was going to be 4 stars but had to knock down to 3 because they also do not accept cash! How many times do we need to point out that a lot of us don't have contactless apps and still prefer to deal in cash. You are not doing yourselves any favours by limiting your income streams.

Visited recently with a group of 8. This place is more like a pub that serves some mexican food than a mexican restaurant. Apparently the kitchen is not open every day, when we visited it was out of steak. Food was ok, very good portions though. Chips felt stale but they tasted ok.

It was from one bar to another with my manager and colleagues as we were doing a send forth on behalf of a well respected colleague to the company. The bar is very close to the piccadilly gardens in fact you might pass by and never knew it's a bar. Suggestion about the bar came up by a friend at work. We went in and it was so orderly, people sat down and relaxing but the noise all over is like tons of birds on a tree chirping away.😂 However it was an all night fun. Toilet needs more attention though.Apart from that it's spot on.

Nipped in for a Sunday lunchtime glass of wine and bite to eat. Quiet ( almost empty in fact ) but kitchen was open. Burritos were excellent. Couldn't fault the friendliness and service level of the staff and chef.

Avoid this restaurant! We made a reservation for 8 people and had email confirmation and daily reminders of this. We also bought vouchers specific to this restaurant to use. We arrived at the restaurant to find it was closed down with a sign on the door to say they had closed for the day. We received no communication to let us know and after many calls, texts, voicemails I have still heard nothing back from them. Myself and 7 others were left stranded outside on a special occasion with nowhere to go or eat. So after travelling from miles away to visit, we are now left with £120 vouchers we can’t use, a ruined 30th birthday and no sorry or contact from the restaurant. Very unprofessional and clearly don’t care about their customers, just book somewhere else and don’t risk it.

Really nice place, with kind staffs with experienced bartenders . Friendly environment, you can make reservations there to hang out with friends or family. The menu is good with fair prices. It has a clean male and female restroom. The music is also nice, if you like punk, rock and roll then you should definitely check it out.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
