Had high expectations for Ezra & Gil. If you can be bothered to queue or wait for a table, you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised. E&G is a great place for breakfast/brunch. Food here is tasty, served warm, well presented and made using fresh ingredients. No complaints at all and massive kudos to the chefs. Service is very effecient, welcoming and attentive. Prices are on the high end but I would still consider it reasonable given the popularity and level of quality. I arrived at E&G for 10am and had to wait for approximately 10 mins. By the time I had finished, there was a huge queue outside. If you want to visit, make sure you're early, especially on a weekend!

A great spot for brunch. The veggie breakfast and some ice coffee are really good. The place is quite busy so you can expect a waiting time of 20-30 mins over the weekends. The atmosphere and interiors are really nice. The menu has a lot of options (including vegan and vegetarian options) and they also had a variety of coffee and baked items. Enjoyed my meal here. Would definitely recommend.

Great brunch spot! Add to your go-to list. I ordered a vegan Fusilli al Pomodoro. Fresh and tasty. Perfect for a light afternoon lunch. Better for group and couple dates, definitely a place for catching up with friends and family. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free & dairy-free options are available. Amazing brunch! Was on a weekend away and had 2 brunches. This one won by far! Very tasty poached eggs on chorizo hash!! Added a cheeky sausage for extra meat. My friend was impressed two. The food came quickly too… which when you’ve queued up is good! Two happy customers and if you’re going to queue somewhere, queue here!

This is a really lively bustling cafe in Northern Quarter with a large variety of food. I ordered a salad and coffee which was really good, the service was good and also very quick. They have a lot of brunch options and also pasta, sandwiches etc. Prices are reasonable. I think the nice atmosphere stands out, a great place to go with a group of friends.

Excellent light lunch at Ezra and Gil! Delicious smashed avocado dish with feta and a poached egg, so flavoursome with tiny peppers and a drizzle of salad on gluten free toast. Perfect! Great service too, particularly the young man who served us! Earl grey tea also had more flavour than other places I’ve tried, will definitely visit again! (From Preston)

great location and opening times, huge chip on the shoulders of the staff / unfriendly attitudes making for an unfriendly, unwelcoming atmosphere. inexplicable in times like these and your customers are actively trying to support you

What a fantastic place! Beautiful food, beautiful drinks served by a beautiful people. Really nice atmosphere. Really good selection of food (plenty of vegan options) and drinks. Quite busy at the times but well worth a wait. I went for a brunch, came back for a breakfast and will come back whenever I’m in MCR. Oh, and you can buy their fabulous house coffee beans and coffee equipment too. ❤️

Nice place for lunch. Was quite busy at 3PM, but we still managed to get a table. Flat white was a bit weak, but sandwiches were very generous. Service was also nice. Recommended.

My n-th time visit to Ezra and it never disappointed me! Their coffee is really exceptional in strong nutty taste - absolutely my favourite! We tried their October special this time - Maple Pumpkin Benedict and again definitely in love. They have huge variety of food options which is rare in other coffee shops elsewhere. The bad thing is quite a bit of waiting will be expected on a weekend.

I had a really great time there. The food was really good especially the American pancakes and their barbecue melted chicken! The staff was really lovely and always smiling. I even lost track of time when I was there haha. It’s definitely going to be my brunch spot in Manchester! And they have the best music playlist ever ! Brought me back some good memories from my childhood:)

This place is a must visit for breakfast if you're around Manchester. We got there around 11pm and had to queue about 20 minutes as the place was packed, but we got seated fairly quickly and it was a nice atmosphere inside. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing, I would definitely visit again when in Manchester.

This was my first time in Manchester and this place we recommend by a friend. As far as brunch goes, this was really up there as one of the top places I have ever been to for brunch. The food was of extremely high quality with some really nice flavours. The vibe in here is also very relaxed. No faults, just great food with great service. Nice and easy.

A lovely breakfast with the tastiest mushrooms I have had in a long time. Having tried a place round the corner only to find they were out of their signature basis for a fry up, I was delighted to find this busy, buzzy, hipish spot just around the corner. I was shown to a high table almost immediately, which was shared with a glass partition in-between with another cover. Interestingly, I noted it was designated a laptop free table, which basically enables it to accommodate leisure walk ups as well as those who want to work. My table was for 90 minutes, which is more than adequate for breakfast in my view. Ordering is at the counter, where service was quick, friendly and efficient. I ordered the Classic Breakfast. It arrived very quickly - actually it arrived before the flat white I also ordered did: the waitress chased up the coffee and quickly came back to say it would be with me within 2 minutes (which it was). The ingredients used were excellent. Scrambled egg was of a good consistency, not runny or fluffy, the Cumberland sausages were very tasty, baked beans were positioned in the middle of the dish in an actual cup with a handle rather than a ramekin, which amused me and brought to mind the scene in I’m Alan Partridge where Michael asks Alan if he wanted a cup of beans. Toast came ready buttered and was sufficiently moist, but the mushrooms were the real highlight being of really high quality and with a lovely meaty texture and taste. The portion size was perfect really - not massive - and the plate was about as well presented as it gets. Highly recommended to visit.

We had family brunch during our holiday in Manchester and were surprised with huge portions!!!! If you are not big eater, share your plate. A lot of waste around. But meal is tasty and you will enjoy it! Haloumi was the best! We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated(when we came, they said it takes 30 minutes-so don’t panic😉it could be shorter!)

Such a lovely place, came across this from previous reviews and booked a table which was simple and easy. The restaurant staff are super friendly and kind, they also have a great space which is well decorated and clean design which is great to have a conversation in or relax. The variety on the menu is good ranging for all options and good portions too! Pricing is good and great value overall. OMG the Coffee was one of the best I’ve ever had, the blend of smooth latte was amazing so I recommend this if you love coffee. Score: 10/10

Bright, lively and fun brunch spot. Our coffees were fantastic and atmosphere was great. Food was really good although a bit pricey and menu is unique. Liked the efficient order at the counter system and then servers brought your order out.

We were there on Sat 28/08 around brunch time during Pride weekend. It was busy and the waitress told us the wait time for a table for 2 would be about 15-20 mins but we got seated just after 10. The menu had some great choices and for the food in the pictures (2 meals) plus 2 drinks we paid £30. The food was amazing! Really tasty and filled you up really good. The staff were also super friendly and we got our food pretty quickly too after ordering. The only thing, however, we found was that the music was a bit too loud and it would have been nice to have the volume down just a little so you can have a conversation without having to almost shout at one another. 4.5/5 overall.

Great place for breakfast. Oat latte was delicious and my bacon sandwich was super! The only downside to this place is you have to place order at the counter; making it awkward if you and a friend try to secure a table (it’s a small eating area) and have to take turns ordering, because you could have other patrons ordering in between your orders which makes your meals come out at different times…but the bacon was worth returning to this cafe.

WOW just wow I can’t believe it was only last week that I have ever been to Ezra and Gil. There was a little queue because it was a lovely Saturday morning so everyone had the same idea on going out for breakfast, however the queue went fast and it was 1000% worth the wait. The service was great the food was UNREAL - I got the smashed pumpkin on toast with a poached egg and my friend got the chorizo and ham mash Benedict. 10/10 - coffee was also amazing. Will be going again soon.

Great coffee and brunch. I had the E&G breakfast which was tasty and the poached eggs (I asked for these instead of scrambled) were perfectly cooked. My partner had the Nduja pasta which he said was also really tasty. Cappuccino was good but nothing interesting/different just a good standard cappuccino. Be prepared to wait for a table at the weekend (we only waited about 15mins). I'd say it's worth the wait. Service was good, although music was loud so worth knowing if you're planning on having quiet conversations.

Excellent brunch. Didn’t love having to wait for a table (no bookings taken) but it was worth the wait. The food isn’t fussy - it’s simple and delicious. The OJ is delightful and the coffee is good. We shared the sausage sandwich (bloody gorgeous), the nduja scrambled eggs on sourdough and the grilled tomato, mushrooms and beans side order. Leaving very satisfied. Will be back 🙏🏼

Poke bowls were tasty and filling. Staff were attentive and friendly - gave a good recommendation for a lemon cheesecake French toast which hit the spot and then some - we wolfed it down. A hipster place with chilled vibes.

Recommended. I had breakfast there and you have both salty and sweet options. I hade the granola and my partner the scrambled eggs on toast and they were both delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is a variety of options for both vegans and vegetarians. Plenty of tables as well and vert calm atmosphere.

A really great breakfast! Friendly staff and not one of those places where it’s all style and no substance - their food is stunning too! I had peanut butter and jelly on sourdough toast and my partner had eggs Benedict, both with a latter.

Had to wait for a table, approx 10am Friday morning, staff were great, menu was varied, bit more expensive than I would normally pay but it's in city centre and great atmosphere in the restaurant. Very busy so that was a good sign. Wife had the smashed avocado and said it was delicious, I had the sausage ciabatta ( I think it was ciabatta) great quality sausages. Smoothie and coffee were very tasty too. I recommend a visit and will be returning in the future!

Food is yum . Place is quite busy, you have to order at the till. They have a wide range of options for brunch on their menu. Some yummy cakes to go with a tea.

Great quality of food, helped me to take the order when the queues were too long, love the vibe. Have to wait 10 minutes to get in. The price is a little bit over.

Absolutely loved the place!! We ordered matcha coconut latte, Avo on toast with poached eggs, latte and pasta. Everything we ordered was so fresh and tasty, definitely a notch above what what we order at the high street restaurants. They were happy to add an extra egg (at a cost), change the farmhouse bread with a sourdough and add prawns to the pasta, very flexible guys and super friendly. Cons:- We had to wait outside for 10 mins around noon to get a down table. This didn't put us off but something to keep in mind Table wasn’t clean and thr was water sprinkled from prev customer. It was slightly annoying but it was compensated with the high quality food served to us. I am not going to take away any stars for this as we did not expect to fine dine with lux decor and furniture. We wanted to eat fresh and sip a nice drink and bingo. Defo my go to place when I am in Manchester again!!

We ate breakfast here. The classic English breakfast and 'Nduja scrambled eggs were delicious, but keep in mind that the portions are big. They have a large selection of dishes on the menu. The ambience is nice and pleasant. I recommend!

Great food, awesome vibe. Their avocado toast, hummus were simply amazing. Few vegan and vegetarian options available as well. Recommend you try their Salmon with lemon vinaigrette, it was fresh and light.

I often come on Sundays around 10/11am for brunch. It can get very busy at weekends, so be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes for a table. The coffees and food are amazing! So it's well worth the wait. Queues seem to quieten down after about 12. There's a wide choice of food. Sweet, savory, veggie dishes. A few vegan options too! Really vibrant but chilled atmosphere in there too.

Really disappointing service - we waited 1h30 for avocado toast which was very average when arrived. Staff were apologetic but not worth the price paid and time. Gluten free bread available

Sometimes places are rated well and popular for a reason and Ezra & Gil is one of those places. We went as a large group, with quite a diverse range of dietary requirements, and found something amazing for everyone. The veggie and vegan breakfast were made to be gluten free with a few substitutions. The food portions, quality and flavour were all amazing. The Ndjuda scrambled eggs (which o added halloumi too) were incredible and I would highly recommend. So was the veggie breakfast, which had some of the plumpest mushrooms you will find. All in all, a great place to eat. Plus, you pay before you eat....the dream. 🤌🏿

Liz who looked fabulous with her new haircut, was waiting at the door to greet us which was a lovely touch, before showing us to our table. My girlfriend and I ordered a take out after realising we couldn't sit in, ordering a classic breakfast and egg royale. When arriving home we realised that the food she had ordered was wrong, some confusion when ordering perhaps and ended up with a eggs Benedict rather than the royale. Not living in the center we can specifically for the breakfast and was upsetting that we received the wrong food. The food came relatively quick after ordering and was packaged okay, my hearty classic breakfast fill their takeaway box where as my girlfriend's, didn't so much, allowing the food to move around and breaking her poached eggs. I ordered extra hollandaise sauce which was delicious, slightly lemony and creamy. Total for my dish came to £11, £9.50 for the breakfast and additional £1.50 for the sauce. The breakfast was filling and satisfying, would recommend trying, the meal was great but receive the wrong meal for my girlfriend really put a damper on the morning. Perhaps a quick check at the desk would have resolved this issue. Hope Ezra & Gil continue to operate in and after these troubling times and look forward to when we can visit again. Keep safe.

music might be slightly too loud, I ordered an all day breakfast from Alice and received halloumi peppers.....It's funny because I can understand how similar they sound. Still disappointing coming all the way home to a different order that I maybe wouldn't have paid £9 for personally.

Very good looking place and good size serving, slightly higher priced than I'd expect but not extremely so. Unfortunately I ordered the BBQ chicken melt, assuming this would be chicken cooked in BBQ sauce, but was just plain chicken smothered in BBQ sauce which was way too much and quite sickly. I tried my partner's chorizo and creamed corn, the creamed corn was great, but the chorizo didn't taste good, in all honesty it tasted cheap and old. I think this place has a lot to offer but you have to choose your food wisely.

Service was good and there are lots of vegan/ veggie options. The food was ok, we had the brunch menu. The drinks were really good and they had almond and oat milk options. I found my food a bit rich, a lot of butter used and garlic which is nice at first but it was just a bit rich for me after a while.
