My friends raved about this place being really good and there's always a long queue. So I suggested to meet up with my other friends there since we've never been. There wasn't a queue on Sunday at 1:30pm but it was still busy and I had to wait for a table. A staff asked if I wanted to sit outside which I didn't mind since it was sunny and not windy. My friends arrived and the staff came out soon after and we ordered. The Vegan Breakfast Bowl which I have been looking forward to wasn't available so I ordered Irish Breakfast (£11) whilst my friends ordered an Egg Benedict (£9.50) and Veggie Breakfast (£11). Drinks came quite quick but the food took quite a long time. We waited almost 40 minutes so our friend went inside to ask. He came back and said he was told that there was a 30 minutes wait but somehow the next minute, our food (all 3 dishes) was miraculously brought out to us. However, the food was lukewarm to almost cold. My friend's toast was a bit burnt and I had extra toast. It seemed like there was a bit of confusion... The food was still good but on the dry side. We weren't offered any sauce and there wasn't any salt or pepper shaker on our table so our friend had to go inside again for them. Generally, all the staff were friendly but I wonder whether because we were sitting outside and they have forgotten about us? Anyway, I still think it's worth visiting but probably better to sit inside.

Lovely! We really enjoyed our brunch and the service was amazing! The staff was so friendly, I felt that they were my friends 💖 I recommend it and especially for the sweet pancakes!

Visited Cafe 19 for a birthday brunch. The service was excellent. We were looked after by Taylor, who was cheerful, chatty and helpful. A real asset to Cafe 19. We had the American breakfast and Kinder Bueno french toast with a hot chocolate. All tasted amazing. Thanks to the chef Dennis

Service is fast. Food delivery is fast. I ordered a flat white came to the table very shortly after. The flat white did not taste good. No microfoam. Bland coffee. Berry delight was good. Sweet with a slightly tart kick. Quite refreshing. Chorizo Benedict looks good. Doesn't taste it. Eggs were cooked well. The chorizo is also cooked well but the sweet potato flavours are weak and do not meld together well. American breakfast: Pancakes were limp even more flavourless than you would expect. Bacon was not crispy. Eggs were alright. Cutlery looks like it hadn't been cleaned with visible marks present on the saucers, cups and milk containers (inside the container no less). I've walked past this place for many years thinking it wasn't worth going to. Very recently I've seen queues building up outside of this cafe. I thought maybe I had overlooked this place. I feel I was correct in my initial judgement.

A good breakfast spot in Manchester. We went there on Sunday, just before 10 a.m. and we were seated and served straight away. 10 min later there was a long queue in front of the cafe. The decor and staff all great. The food was tasty, nicely presented and generous size... I was not able to finish my vegan bowl :) pancakes also looked great. The only minus is that I am from another side of the country ;)

Always busy.. breakfast is good, yet arrived cold, pancake was not as expected , not fluffy. When waiter is asked she said the owner changed the recipe!! Tables are not very clean. I hope they will take care of place hygiene.

One word..Excellent! Very popular restaurant. Had to queue for a short while. Personal touch where someone comes to you in the queue to tell you how long your wait for a table is and offers an umbrella if raining. Once seated Taylor took our order. He was very friendly and helpful. His enthusiasm should be bottled! I had the American breakfast - Bacon, eggs hash browns with French toast and syrup - Delicious! My compliments to the chef Dennis.

Stopped here to have a late lunch.. the place is really central and has a lovely feel to it. I was welcomed almost immediately and with a smile for the waitress. I picked my seat and decided to go for the chorizo benedict. I was really hungry. The dish was quite quick to arrive and the first few bites were delicious. It then became really really spicy (and I love spicy food) at the point that I was basically in tears throughout the last bites. Still really good choice. Prices are really affordable however getting any extra or add to your meal will sharply increase the bill. I do strongly recommend this place and the pancakes looked gorgeous!

Amazing food at really reasonable prices. Staff are super friendly. There is no booking of tables so there is always a queue to get in but it is 100% worth the wait! Queue goes down quite fast.

Nice little cafe with a variety of flavours for the pancakes and French toast. I ordered the kinder French toast, which was extremely rich and a lot going on. It was nice and fluffy and goes well with the ice cream. However would have been nice to have some fruits to give it a little freshness.

I've been to 19 Cafe bar a few times but, never to actually eat the food. Boy, have I been missing out. The French toast was out of this world. Furthermore, Taylor (our waiter) was amazing. He was so attentive, funny and lovely to speak to & he made the experience. Will definitely be back again 10/10!

I know they are famous of pancake but didnt try this time. French toast was well-presented and tasted pretty good. Egg royale was quite average to be honest. Staff were attentive and friendly though so it was a pleasant experience. However I dont think i would queue again on a weekend midday.

Staff are very friendly and attentive. When it’s busy and you have to wait a little they make the effort to tell you how long and check up on you. Food was amazing, a full English is a full English but they do it very well. Good portions at a good price. They have all the non-dairy options for coffees. I’m not vegetarian but they have proper options, not just hash browns! Highly recommend for a sure option on brunch.

We were seated and seen to quickly. Busy for a Tuesday afternoon, good atmosphere. They ran out of bagels but informed me of this straight away and offered several alternatives. The smoked salmon was tasty and fresh. Great portion of soft cheese (so delicious!). We shared the apple and cinnamon French toast, also delicious! French toast cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed the salted caramel frappe too. Worth every penny. The staff are all super friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again

Excellent in every way. I ordered French Toast with bacon, blueberries and ice cream. It shouldn't have worked but was sublime. Loved everything about this place and would love to keep it a secret ........

Lovely cafe for breakfast, brunch and more. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. It can be very busy, particularly at the weekend. But that's a good sign and a testament to the cafe. Thanks for the brilliant meal, folks.

I came here today for my 30th birthday! When we first got there we all had suitcases with us as we was in Manchester for the weekend they took them off us and put them away so we didn't have to have them around the table. All of the staff was so friendly every single one of them had a smile on there face and was so polite! The food was cooked to perfection! The iced mocca was unreal! I would 100% come back here! Yes there can be a que but I would completely say it is worth it! ❤️

This was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had! I have come to Manchester for a few days and discovered this cafe during a google search. Was surprised there was a queue at the door when we arrived but we were quickly seated. I myself work in a busy cafe so know the stresses that the staff can be under during busy periods. All the food was absolutely amazing, the staff were very friendly and the coffee was great too. If I ever come back to Manchester I will definitely be coming to 19 cafe bar again.

Hmmm... The wait outside was a bit annoying. Staff were very polite inside but service was blooming slow. The food was lovely when it came it must be said. My better half has a pumpkin allergy staff were very receptive to this hence a 4 out of 5 star review despite the slight negatives on wait times. Any issues were also remedied. Would return.

My boyfriend and I visited Manchester for a few hours and this is the first place we went to. We got the kinder and Belgium chocolate pancakes and they were HUGE. They were also extremely tasty, one of the best pancakes we have ever had. The girls there were also so nice. My advice is to share plate with your friend/partner as we couldn’t even finish ours (and we love eating lol).

Fantastic food, the staff are welcoming and friendly, if you're planning to visit during peak noshing times, then prepare to have to wait for a while outside in a queue. (It's worth the wait!)

We decided to visit 19 CAFE BAR during our trip to Manchester, and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quantity and quality we had. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was warm, calm, welcoming, and friendly. The staff there do a spot on job, keep up the good work 👏

Absolutely delicious! We haven’t had food of this quality and style since we lived in Texas. It but all the right spots this morning. The poached eggs were cooked PERFECTLY. My son gobbled up his pancakes and my husband and I left with very full and happy tummies. Thank you for the lovely breakfast!

We stayed in Manchester overnight after attending a concert. I chose this cafe for breakfast as they did a variety of choices and I really wanted a cooked breakfast and pancakes 😂 (I’m pregnant - don’t judge haha) We were quickly seated and our order was taken. We were immediately informed there was a little wait for food, which wasn’t an issue. The food was absolutely amazing, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, although for me personally the icing sugar on the bacon was too much. We had an English breakfast, two American breakfasts, a hot chocolate, a biscoff hot drink and an iced latte. The staff were all really warm and inviting and just lush. Sadly we have returned to Newcastle now, but if we are ever in Manchester again we will most definitely be returning as I want to sample the delicious pancakes on offer!

Much better than we expected, a true breakfast gem We were in the mood for a late breakfast / brunch. Selected this place based on the review website saw here. All agreed this was an excellent selection

we came on a saturday and waited 10/15 minutes for a table as there are only a few tables that accommodate more than 2 people but a large queue started to build up as we left 😅 once seated, the service was relatively quick as we got our food within 15 minutes of ordering. drinks were standard but personally would’ve liked it a bit hotter. the eggs were perfectly poached; the dish was very filling with a generous portion of spinach and salmon so no faults! the banoffee french toast was a bit too sweet so would’ve preferred the syrup to come on the side (like the american breakfast).

Good quality brunch location in the heart of the Northern quarter Manchester. Offering a wide range of classic brunch items as well as pancakes, french toast and bagels. A good range of veggie and vegan options to hand. This is a popular brunch location, so expect to wait a little even mid-week if you dont get there early. As far as I'm aware reservations are not an option here.

My partner and I enjoyed a three day break in Manchester, with aims of breaking the bank and stuffing ourselves with the fine delicacies Manchester has to offer. Our one rule was not to enter any chain establishments or eat at the same place twice. Cafe 19 was our downfall. With the best sausages I’ve ever tasted in my life, to the fluffiness of the Biscoff pancakes, I was extremely satisfied. The staff were lovely and very attentive and the vibey atmosphere made this a completely enjoyable experience. I will be coming back.

Had brunch here, got the belgian chocolate chip pancakes and tried the french toast - they were both delicious! Very very sweet and lovely cosy cafe :) The staff were super friendly and joked with us and checked on us regularly! Deffo want to come again to try out the savoury options

Long queue before and after us. Lovely service but the food didn’t meet our expectations at all. Sweet potato Benedict was far too salty and the pancake with beacon was far too sweet…we hate wasting food but couldn’t finish them in the end. What a shame!

I could order everything off this menu it was so good! I went for the apple and cinnamon french toast and it was one of the best things I've tasted in my entire life. Beware that it can get quite busy so expect a queue at breakfast time!

Best brunch I've ever had. Food is lovely, service is fab (they couldn't do enough to make sure I was happy) and the cafe is spotless. The place is busy and it's obvious why.

Came for brunch, it was quite busy (always a good sign) but we didn’t have to wait long to get a seat. Ordered a vanilla iced latte, iced chai, bacon and black pudding benedict and classic French toast. The food, the atmosphere and the staff were all great. Will definitely be revisiting!

Had 2 American breakfasts. The food was excellent; really good pancakes, French toast, bacon and eggs were all cooked to perfection. Only complaint is that the menu said we were getting maple syrup, but they gave us some really cheap, flavourless syrup that seemed to have food colouring in it.

  • 5/5 Jane 1 year ago on Google
Loved the food - so tasty and the bagel was crispy too which made it nicer instead of being good and soft. The service was good too. Lots of choices on the menu and nice to try things I wouldn't normally have.

19 Cafe Bar, is really popular and there was a decent queue before and after us. The vibes is typical trendy cafe style; nice and fairly relaxed. While waiting they seemed to have a lot of empty seats but I suspect this is down to a staffing shortage. When we did get a table, even though we were ready to order straight away, we were told we'd have to wait as they had a very structured system of working through the tables, collecting orders and bringing food. The staff are polite and it all seems pretty efficient and I appreciated knowing what's what. Worth noting that they do not make alterations to menu items and it's stated as much on the menu. The food itself is good, I had the sweet potato chorizo Benedict with extra back bacon which I thought was a nice spin and I enjoyed it. My partner was not blown away by the American breakfast with pancakes and sadly felt the pancakes were a bit hard/stale. His hot chocolate I thought was lovely but it was lukewarm and he would have liked it hot. We shared a lemon grass and ginger pot of tea and I had the passion fruit and lemon ice tea which I was enjoying until I found a hair strand in my drink. They kindly took it off the bill and offered a fresh one but we were already leaving. All in all, it was grand as an experience.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
