Having trained at SBG for a while now i can say this is one of the best MMA gym in Manchester. All the coaches at the gym are of high level and give clear instructions making it very beginner friendly. Not only this but all the members are friendly and really approachable. If you are hesitant or unsure just go for the free trial and see how the classes are and you won't be disappointed.

Great gym, friendly people and amazing classes. Strong potential. Coaches are well trained, giving feedback to all members in the class. SBG is one of the best MMA gyms in the UK if not the world and the Manchester department emits this atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone.

Been a member on-and-off for exactly 5 years now. Can't say enough good things about this place really. The level of instruction at this place is top-notch from all coaches. Classes are structured well, with great focus on technical detail. The membership consists of an interestingly diverse and funny gang of people. You will have fun and grow and make new friends here. If you feel hesitant or unsure, just give the trial a go like I originally did. There is absolutely a place for you here✌🏾

I’ve been there couple of times because BJJ campus, great people, great coaches and top BJJ level.

I’ve been under SBG UK for 16 years and this is where it all started. Thanks to Karl and the team I’ve been a BJJ Black Belt for nearly 6 years now and qualified as an MMA coach back in 2006. I’ve been able to travel the world coaching from the US to South Korea and lots of countries in between. It was a life changing decision to join SBG. Don’t hesitate!

Started my son today on his MMA journey in the child classes. The team very welcoming and the coaching excellent. Great expertise and learning. Was a new / different environment and thanks to Levi and to Jay for patience and encouragement for my son, he got involved and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

Very Disappointed. I had signed up a few months ago and did enjoy the couple sessions I attended. I then had to travel due to a family emergency abroad and had frozen my membership. Being extremely busy with a lot going on I had forgotten it was frozen, this was until I was charged for another month £79. I had emailed to cancel this as I am in urgent need of the money and can not afford to attend. I was told that they can’t refund me. I had emailed them a further 3 times but am still yet to receive a reply 2 weeks later.

I joined SBG over a month ago now, and was completely new to BJJ! The team have been very welcoming, everyone has a learning mindset, and encourage new starters to get stuck in/improve. Paddy is an excellent coach and I look forward to training each week 🥋

Went and did a lesson with Chris the head coach. Very warm, welcoming and useful tips. Incredible ability to generate pressure on top. Strongly recommended if you're looking for a good BJJ gym in central Manchester

Great coaches and staff who know what they're talking about and really approachable. No egos, very patient and supportive. A good mix of people with different levels of experience in the classes so it's easy to learn at the right pace. As a beginner (started 2 months ago) I highly recommend SBG Manchester.

SBG Manchester is a top class MMA gym. The classes are very well structured, focusing on technical detail and the skills are really applicable if you want to do MMA, specialise in a discipline or just use for self defence. All the coaches are top of their game and are held in high regard in the MMA community. They are all really approachable too. I would definitely recommend SBG to anyone. The club is really welcoming of new members and you can try yourself with a free trial.
