In the final stages of a major redevelopment which will transform the look of the store. Feels different and more appropriate to the demands of shoppers in a city centre location. The Food hall should look awesome when finished and the cafe was smart and relaxing space.

The real face of Manchester’s upmarket retail outlet ,, Followed around by a Security guard whom I eventually challenged and after an argument & the threat of being ejected from the store for standing my ground I asked to speak to a Manager who deescalated the situation - disgusted I just left ,, the complex itself has installed steel spikes on areas where homeless people sleep ,, I spoke to one homeless Man pictured - I won’t name Him ,, Scum Police teams operating under Manchester City Councils cruel Mandate to harass the Homeless were waiting to pounce - He explained that they would arrest Him after I’d gone so I went upstairs to the Walkway with my camera and sure enough ,, they Did. The second Person removed by the Council’s new Government snatch Squads within 30 minutes. The Camera never lies. Arrested for being HOMELESS under the premise of Begging under the vagrancy act put in place in 1894 !!!! ,, it costs £14 a night to get into a flea infested Hostel - rough sleeping is also deemed an offence under the same Draconian Legislation put in place over Ten decades ago it’s not begging it’s survival ,, without an address a Homeless person faces an often impossible battle to claim benefits or get a job….

Please wash the dishes properly…a lot of the plates are not clean. Can you take a look at the plates after taking them out of the dishwasher? If you see dirty marks on the plates, will you just ignore them? Please try to solve this problem. The food and staff are nice, though.

No effort made by staff in either women’s department or cafe, no thank you or please at checkout, just order of “card” at check out, no effort when asked about product. Elderly lady in cafe not helped with bag or tray, lots of shouting and laughing in the kitchen so at least someone’s having a good time!

Staff and customers wandering around a basement setting with no masks and no social distancing. Absolute disgrace of a shop

We came to the Manchester store a few weeks ago to look for suits for mine and my fiance's wedding. We spoke with Debbie, who works in the mens suit section, and after trundling through a variety of suits we found the one we wanted; a good lot of suit elements were out of stock and running very low. Debbie was an absolute angel, and she arranged with multiple stores around the area to hold certain sized items for us to get. We would have really struggled getting 12 suits without the help of Debbie, but we finally have every single suit element for every person now. Very grateful to your wonderful member of staff!!!!

One of the huge retail out of M&S with wide variety of collections but it seems that this outlet is slightly under staff as we literally walked around to find the floor staff for assistance

i'm not sure what is wrong with the uk and their policy on potato chips (or crisps, sorry) because on most fronts, the uk - or just manchester - is infinitely more sustainable than the us in terms of packaging. however at most supermarkets ALL of the chips are sold in single bags that are all just shoved into one big bag. FOR WHY!!! i just want one big bag of chips! im sure there is an explanation for this in the form of a youtube video with silly animations that they paid an 18 year old art student minimum wage (which i hear is low in the uk) to do but i do not care. what i do care about is that M&S is the only store that sells large bags of potato chips and i am forever grateful to them. they are also in many different shapes and flavors!

I bought a nice T shirt, very happy with quality. But when I went to wear a week later it had a security tag on. Completely unwearable now. Customer service do not respond. I would advise to shop elsewhere

My sister collapsed in your cafe today.I can't thank the Excellency that the staff gave to her. They were concerned and caring and nothing was too much trouble for them.Because she was sick they cleaned her phoned a taxi and discreetly took her out in a wheelchair. Thank you so much to all concerned. Constance Gillette.

Today I was served by Raymond Saunders at the Deli counter. He was such a kind and helpful gentleman - who tried his best to help me with my enquiries. He really went above and beyond in terms of client care. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves by M&S - he is fantastic.

Went here today as Marks and Spencer advertises gluten free afternoon tea. Which doesn't exist here. In fact there was 1 iced bun and 1 scone 1 clotted cream but no jam ,to be had and this was 12 30pm. Not one sandwich !! Why advertise something that doesn't exist. So won't be going there again.

Today I went to the beauty department with the intention of buying a Percy & Reed hair product. A wonderful lady called Paige approached me and expressed exceptional customer service skills. She was courteous and enthusiastic. She explained the products for me which I was interested in and even gave me a free sample of SPF which she didn't have to. Thank you Paige for your prodigious service. I hope to come back in the future.

The aesthetic of M&S is truly one of elegance and class. In addition to that, the customer service is Top Tier. I had a bra fitting session with Julie K and it was the best fitting I’ve ever had! She was incredibly helpful and hospitable as well as being able to help me find my perfect size. A true professional at work, not to mention that the people at tills were also nice and kindly helped me find out the price of the item I wanted. M&S is ALWAYS a pleasure to shop!

Marks & Spencer in Market street is great, they not only have the best bread in town but also lovely staff. Especially all of the elderly lady’s working downstairs in the food and flower area. They all always smile and take their time to talk to each customer and ask them how they are. I could go to the quick self service checkout but I prefer to see one of those lady’s as they are so sweet. You can’t find this often these days. I love it and think they make Marks & Spencer very special. Thank you and Merry Christmas

This a really nice Marks and Spencer so far as they go. Lots of space, massive food hall, plenty of really freindly staff on hand to help without having to wait. The sort of thing I remember them for but they seem to have lost at many other locations

I would highly recommend M&S for anyone looking for high-quality, fresh, and tasty food. Their commitment to quality and sustainability is truly impressive, and their range of products is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates.

Anyone who knows me knows how OBSESSED I am with M&S food. They recently (last few years?) renovated their supermarket downstairs and it looks fab. Great selection of fresh groceries, bakery items, hot foods as well as all your usual supermarket needs.

Pop into this store quite a lot as it's close to where I work. The staff here are excellent. Great Service just what I expect! Well done and keep up the great work!

I had an amazing staff member bastiana who helped me so much. She immediately noticed I needed help and came to offer her assistance. I left getting what I needed in a quick and timely manner all thanks to her. I would definitely shop here again, very happy :)

Strange security people doing rounds off late. Tend to follow you quite closely, which is weird. Felt unwelcome/uneasy during last visit. Great store but amateur/untrained security staff. Maybe there have been recent issues to prompt such behaviour, but still not the right approach imo, hence 3 stars; else a definite 5

The existing material is very bad. As soon as I put water, the color of the dress will come off. If I were to buy from a second-hand market, it would not be like this if I wear the dress on the Eid. Thank you, because the Eid is at a worse time because of your material. Thank you.😡😡😡😡😰

Officially the biggest marks and Spencer in the world. peruvian grapes after Peruvian flake. Has large selection of premade curries and the self service machines are out of this world. When you need some prosecco and grapes for your posh girlfriend or mum this place will make you feel all warm and make you buy some bedsheets.

Visiting m&s Manchester for the 1st time in 4 years (as I moved to Spain) I was shocked at how standards have plummeted, staff are so unhelpful and cannot be bothered with customers queries. "Eventually" I found the items I required then joined the queue for the till. One person on a till and a queue through the store. I was asked to use self serve and politely refused explaining "I,m sorry I don't work here" the m&s cafe experience was a nightmare with staff actually rowing behind the counter, so much so I received a teapot with no t bag. When I see the next news report of m&s sales being down this Christmas I will totally understand why.

There is no consultation, the service is terrible, with such a service you can only close Where do you see consultants in the photo?? Should I run around a huge floor and look for the goods that I need?

probably the best marks & Spencer's within the North West.large store over multiple floors within Manchester city centre.large range of products covering there usual ranges such as clothing and homeware.the staff are friendly and helpful.its located within 10 minutes walk of multiple public transport points and car parks.my only true disappointment is the fact that it doesn't stock clothing for bigger sizes when it obviously has the capacity forcing you to order online.

In M&S cafe manchester- food fine, but service at the 3 points so, so slow. Customers in our line left as they had already stood for 15 minutes and barely made progress to the order point. Please M&S separate the drinks point from the hot food lines or at least have provision for more order points at busy times.

The shop is fine. How come there's an advert in the window relating to clothing for 'moms'? This is the UK, not North America. Tsk.

Outstanding service not only for me but I witnessed a staff member helping an elderly lady with mobility issues with her drink, her food and even helping her with her coat and putting her money away for her. She really went above and beyond and it was lovely to see such genuine service

Love the store the food in the cafe is lovely. The only one thing letting it down is that I had to go down one floor to wash my hands before I ate my meal. I would have thought a washroom nearer the cafe would have been more convenient.

Bought a trench coat today in the Manchester Arndale branch and returned some online stuff. The lady who helped me return my items using the self service was lovely and helpful (just sorry I didn't get your name). I was then served by Lesley at the checkout, she was warm, friendly and super helpful. Fabulous service! Thank you ladies!

I recently encountered a distressing incident during my visit to M&S, where technical issues with the automatic payment machine led to a cascade of unsettling events. While attempting to use the malfunctioning machine, an M&S employee took it upon themselves to seize my item without my consent. Despite persistent difficulties scanning the product, the employee verbally accused me of theft, creating an intensely uncomfortable and humiliating situation. This unpleasant encounter, compounded by the employee's suggestive language and demeanor, significantly tarnished what should have been a routine shopping experience. Frustrated by the escalating tension, required numerous failed attempts and my insistence on manual intervention to finally bring the situation to a resolution. This incident not only marked my first encounter with such behavior during my years in the UK but also left me disappointed with what is perceived as a high-end shopping destination. The combination of technical glitches, unauthorized handling of my merchandise, and the unjustified accusations, along with the employee's insinuations, has left a lasting negative impression on my perception of M&S.
