We came here yesterday. It a kind of exhaustion because there's a lot of people eating in this restaurant, we need to queue just to eat here. We ate yang chow, chop suey, sweet and sour pork, kikiam and their best-seller xiao long bao. If you want to eat in this restaurant, I suggest go here on weekdays.

SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. Only ordered drinks in this place and I could already tell the waiters were rude as hell. I ordered a cold coffee but then they gave me a hot one. When I asked for it to be replaced with a cold one, the waiter visibly looked irritated and didn't even bother saying sorry for getting my order wrong. Then, when they served the cold one, the waiter just put it carelessly on my table, without even looking where he placed it. Drinks weren't even that good. On top of that, they have a corkage fee policy where you can't eat outside food or else, you have to pay 500 pesos, which is a dumb policy for a cafe in the first place. Moreover, we were only told of this policy AFTER eating our outside food and AFTER ordering. The ambience was bad. The place was not that comfortable. Terrible place, wouldn't recommend.

Very good food with reasonable price. I arrived at around 9am so there weren’t any lines but it could get crowded when the people arrive for lunch. Ate here 3x already and I always recommend it. The XLB and Salted Egg shrimps are to die for!

We went here around 9am and our order was served after 17 minutes. Food was good but kinda pricey. I loved their xiao long bao and fried porkchop. Ambiance was okay, staff was kinda inattentive or mostly busy, the bathroom could use a lot of improvement.

While the food at this restaurant is undoubtedly delicious, be prepared to wait longer than expected for your meal. The wait time can be quite significant, often exceeding the amount of time it takes to consume the food itself. However, if you have some extra time to spare and are looking for a great dining experience, the quality of the food is definitely worth the wait.

This is undeniably one of the top dining spots in Chinatown. The food tasted great, and the portions are generous. Prices here are also reasonable; you might opt for this one compared to the restaurant below because this place is air-conditioned. I highly recommend trying the Shanghai and fried rice. The place and service are also good, but be prepared for a wait during peak hours.

The food is just okay/so-so. Not bad but also nothing special about it. Had my hopes up for the xiao long bao but they were not “soupy” at all. Positives about this restaurant are their accommodating staff and big food servings. But overall, I think you’ll find better restaurants around the area.

Their service is quite fast and their serving is good for sharing. We liked the ambiance of the restaurant and we loved the food. Their xiao long bao can do a little better - the wrapper is quite thick. Their must try dish is the special kikiam and the pork dumplings 👌

Lovely place to eat. We ordered the Custard lava buns. Place had AC, and great drinks. It was very popular and recommended. I would go again. Only annoying thing was the service. The team were stretched.

Cafe Mezzanine in Binondo, Manila has a some areas for improvement. While the food taste is okay, the overall experience seems to be impacted by the servers' attitude and the noisy kitchen. The servers' lack of enthusiasm towards serving customers like us is certainly disappointing, as it can significantly affect our dining experience. Customers expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere when they visit a cafe or restaurant, and the servers play a crucial role in creating that environment. Moreover, the noisy kitchen with plates, metals, and utensils clanging is quite distracting and unpleasant for customers. It is important to maintain a certain level of ambiance, especially in a cafe, where people typically come to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal. Lastly, another area of concern is thewaiting time, which took about 40 minutes. While it's not uncommon for some cafes and restaurants to have a waiting time during busy hours, it's important to manage it effectively to ensure customer satisfaction. PS. Seafood Chami is too salty.

Cafe Mezzanine is almost always on the lists of must-try restaurants in Binondo, and I can see why. The place is somehow riotous but colorful. If you’re not into busy food places, then don’t go here. The staff members are friendly and attentive. Just be ready to wait since the cafe is usually packed with customers. We waited for about 20 minutes outside, and another 20 minutes to get served. Cafe Mezzanine is owned by the same person who manages Chuan Kee, the restaurant located below them. They have similar menus; the only difference is that the cafe serves coffee. Chuan Kee normally has longer queues. I also like that they share their profits with a specific group of firemen in Manila. Recommended dishes: Chicken Chinot and Asado with Adobo Egg The cafe only accepts cash payments.

We’re lucky enough to be seated upon our arrival. The place gives an exclusive feel, maybe because it’s located upstairs. Food was delicious! I can’t simply single out one option since I liked everything we ordered. It was my first time trying the pork machang (it’s like paella with braised pork) which was surprisingly good! It ate it as my dessert after the mains, cause it tastes like it. Another thing I cannot forget about is their Lava Pao! It was so good I regret I did not order one for take out. However, their frappes were not that good according to my companion. Too sweet and tastes like overly sugarized. Other than that, it was really a good dining experience in Manila Chinatown!

If you're looking for an authentic Chinese place then, try here. Their Xiao Long Bao is the best. Served hot and flavorful. All of their dishes were good for me such as the Kiampong, Kikiam, Lava Buchi, Mango Shake and Cappuccino. All of them, indeed, met my expectations. You will be full once you try their food. Flaws are, you must fall in line to get a table. Long waiting time for the food to serve when they're at peak time. No parking space. Try to visit during weekday right when the store open to avoid crowding. Located at the back of Binondo Church. Ground floor is Chuan Kee. Same menu, but cheaper price of food, ambience is like Chinese Turo-Turo. People also lined up on this place but don't get puzzled and line up thinking that it is the same line as Cafe Mezzanine coz it's not. You must directly go to the second floor if you want to visit Cafe Mezzanine. Good ambience, air conditioned, different in price like adding 20-30 pesos each meal.

🍜Food is great. ☕We loved their coffee (I forgot, i think it's the Mezza brew?) ⏳Serving time usually takes up to 25 mins (when we went there, w/c is morning around 10am). Understandable because people are lining up to eat here as they are always full house, and the food is freshly cooked.

Both food and coffee are great :) We had to line up for around 10-15 mins (dinnertime) but it was worth the wait. We got to try their pancit, hakaw and chinoy chicken which I really love ..so tasty and juicy. Their iced coffee was great too. Serving time is quite fast. Another plus is also the view (we sat by the window). Will definitely love to go back here

Service was slow but pleasant. Hygiene of the cooks and servers are questionable and needs to be addressed. We where seated in front of the kitchen at the second floor and cpuldnt help but see how they operate. Food was average at best.

A good place to fill your hungry tummy. The food is so good especially the Lechon Paksiw, It melts in your mouth. The Sweet And Sour Fish Fillet, the balance is there and they serve generous amounts. We had the XLB (which my partner had to finish all haha) - I'm not a fan of XLB but it's an 8/10. And the BEST PART! is the Lava Pao! My gosh! I'm speechless. We had to buy pa sa Eng Bee Tin for frozen para makapagluto kame. 1000/10! This place had a long line, luckily nung kame palang kakain walang pila but we had to wait for 30 mins for the food to be served and please take note not to eat your outside food. They will charge you 500 but still a must try resto.

I was served spoiled Bola Bola siopao! 😭 I was excited to eat but first bite was awful😖 bitter and sour taste. Waitress apologize and said it was over frozen, I had to clarify that no... it was not over frozen, it was spoiled! They happily replaced with Asado that was served half cold. Chopseuy and braised beef soup were ok. Siomai was served cold. Experience was DISAPPOINTING 😞

My friend brought me here and we stayed on the 2nd floor. My first time here. I liked the interior and it was very cozy for me. We stayed here just to try their cold replenishment. Then we decided to try their famous xiao long bao. A must try place for me if you're in Chinatown. The only downside when we went here is the service. We tried to call their crew several times before we were able to order. Knowing when we went here is not queueing.

Cafe Mezzanine in Binondo, Manila needs some improvement. The taste of food is okay, overall experience is not great, the lack of attention to details of the cashier and server was below the standard. The servers lack of attention to details is very disappointing. They are not approachable. Restroom was so dirty. Even if I really needed to pee, I decided not to. The smell is awful and disgusting. I was also very disappointed to the unavailability of coffee. I dont understand, they call their shop a cafe but they dont serve coffee that day (July 3, 2023), ordered xiao long bao and hakaw but also unavailable. My partner and I visited this place because it was recommended and must try daw the Beef La Mien but it was not in the menu. I dont know if they dont sell that anymore. Lastly, when I ordered coffee and it was not available I decided to just order avocado smoothie, but when I ask for the bill, they still charge me for the coffee when it was not available in the beginning. If I did not check the receipt they could have profit over that. Ask for a new receipt but was not provided urgently. It was given to me after 10 minutes. I don't know what's the reason for the wait. I would say that I will never dine here again with this kind of service. They need to improve if they want customers to come back. PS. Pork siomai was still served cold. I did not mind them getting me a new one, it is possible kasi na it may take a while for them to provide. Lava Pao tastes confusing.

CNN Travel has highlighted this restaurant as one of its featured restaurants when in Manila. It is situated in the original Chinatown, alongside Eng Bee Tin. The area itself is simultaneously quite lively and charming. There is a bit of waiting time for your food since the place is always almost full. Both regular customers and inquisitive tourists were crammed into the establishment. Great portions at an affordable price. I really enjoyed the Congee, Asado, Braised Beef and the Chicken Feet! The tasty cuisine made up for the eating area's limited size and unorganized atmosphere. Highly suggested. Finding a parking spot, though, might be a challenge.

It was nice to discover this place recently. The ambience was very cool, food also taste really well. We got the braised beef noodles- this was so flavorful, beef was so tender and the serving size was really generous! lava pao and dumplings also taste good. Make sure to arrive as early as possible as the queue gets long especially during weekends.

WORST EXPERIENCE. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were excited to try this tourist spot in Binondo but was very disappointed on the treatment we have experienced! We were patiently waiting in line and after we were told to sit in one of the open tables, we were not instructed on how to order. So I immediately asked one of the waiters on how to order. The waiter told me to wait for another waiter to come to our table to get our order. After long mins of waiting, we asked another waiter that we were ready to order a long time ago and she said the same thing as the first one with an irritating voice as maybe they found us annoying for repeatedly asking. So we patiently waited again and while controlling my anger, a few customers entered and sat beside us (one in our left, one in our right, and one in our front). Once they were seated, a waiter immediately took their order while leaving us watching and waiting for our turn. We expected, that finally, we can order but guess what??? the waiters skipped us. BOTH WAITERS skipped us. like they didn't even bother!!! As my patience ran out, I immediately stood up and left the shop not looking back and complaining to the receptionist on the treatment we have experienced in their shop! Maybe because we were in ragged clothes and not as well dressed as the others in the restaurant that we were treated this way. Didn't think nice clothes are the basis for how we can be treated.

The oldest and readily accessible Chinese turo turo in Binondo. Good food and reasonable prices too! Although parking can be a pain, it is all worth it. You probably need multiple visits to be able to taste all the food on their menu. I can't recommend anything because all of it tastes good! After eating, you can walk a few buildings away to buy some food from their bakery.

  • 4/5 Doh C. 1 year ago on Google
I had beef noodles and pork siomai which I think good for 2 person. Food was great, and the place was crowded.

Cafe Mezzanine is a must for those who are planning a Binondo food trip. Located on top of its equally popular brother Chuan Kee Chinese Fast Food, Cafe Mezzanine offers a decent variety of popular Chinese dishes that we Filipinos are accustomed to. Most dishes can be shared among two to three people, and comes with an affordable price tag. Owned by the one and only Mr. Ube, Cafe Mezzanine features firefighting equipment and memorabilias of their volunteer fire brigade. I particularly enjoyed the patatim and xiao long bao, and our friend from New Zealand loved their chicken feet. Good thing is that we lined up for an early lunch (around 11am) because both Chuan Kee and Cafe Mezzanine are packed with fellow foodies during lunch time, and I assume, dinner time too.

Went here on a weekend, waited quite a bit cos there’s a long line but it is worth it. Food price is average but appropriate for the serving size. Dumplings and xiao long bao has big servings for the price. Ordered fried rice and drinks. Didnt like the kiam pong very much. It’s like sticky rice, almost like biko but not sweet. No parking. We parked in lucky chinatown and had a stroll for the binondo food crawl
