Excellent food. Super fast service. We waited in the line for some 15 mins but worth it! Staff is very friendly. We were satisfied by all foods. Highly recommended!

I would say they sell the best Turkish food in the area. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the manager is always checking if every thing is going well. But what I really hate about the place is that the musics is much Loud which makes having a conversation is impossible, second you have the feeling you are going in only for the food and you need to pay fast and go out fast. People are always standing in lines waiting to be seated and you feel the pressure on you to make a free place …

I recently dined at Türk Sofrası Ocakbaşı Marktplatz and wanted to share my feedback. While the Turkish cuisine served is undeniably delicious, the presentation leaves much to be desired. They say that the eyes eat first, but unfortunately, the appearance of the food on the plate is not appealing. The pricing, in relation to the quality and quantity of the dishes, doesn't seem to align well. The simplicity of the food, both in terms of ingredients and preparation, was a bit underwhelming. The ambiance is somewhat chaotic, with the presence of random sports jerseys hanging around. The connection of these jerseys to the restaurant's concept is unclear. The closely arranged tables contribute to an atmosphere where it feels like one is dining uncomfortably close to strangers. It's disappointing as the overall experience does not quite match the deliciousness of the food. Addressing these aspects could significantly enhance the dining experience at Türk Sofrası Ocakbaşı Marktplatz. Thank you.

I have come all the way to try this place. The food is overrated and you can have the same quality elsewhere. The food took around 35 minutes to arrive and it was a bit cold. The staff is friendly. The price is high for some dishes.

The food was great, it's really special and tasty, i went to Turkey and it's really similar, and the portions were really good. The price is ok and the service is great too, they also bring you some warm and delicious bread and a tasty salad. The ambient is so cool, I really like that restaurant.

Hard to find a vacant seat in the restaurant in the evening and we tried the same in the following day afternoon which proved lucky as it was nearly full but we found our place, fresh minced spicy lamb meat from the skewer which reminds me of the best Gaziantep food tour i had along with hot lentil soup, salad and fresh baked bread from their well.maintained charcoal grill. The food tastes good and can easily satisfy a real foodie, highly recommended

Kebabs schmeckt gut und sehr lecker! The best place for Turkish food, especially BBQ. If you are looking to be impressed, get their BBQ platter. It has everything you'd wish for. A little expensive but it serves 2-3 people and I recommend it. Don't forget to finish with a Turkish coffee at the end!

The food was very nice. Unfortunately the food took an hour to be delivered. Additionally, the Service was everything but friendly. Perhaps it was an anomaly but I did not feel welcome and would not recomend it further if you are looking for an enjoyable dining experience.

    - Like the interior. - Love that the owner walks through the restaurant and asks proactively if everything is alright. - Food was good. - Waiter couldn't be bothered to help me out with choosing something, just said everything is great, forgot in between our ordered drinks. In general it feelt like he just wanted to process us quickly. - Also no tea and coffee on certain days like Fridays and Saturdays. This feels really weird. I feel like thats a rule so people don't sit around and just eat and leave. Hate the idea and concept.

Good food. Felt that the verities were less compared to other restaurants in the area. A breakfast buffet is available. There are restrooms available and were very clean. Service was good and the waiters even made suggestions.

Their pide was not authentic at all it was filled with tomatoe sauce I couldn’t even taste the meat. Their meats “izgara” was fine, not worth the wait, the service was actually good and I liked their bread and sauce they serve as a starter. would not visit again.

We had to wait around 40/45 minutes for our food but it was really worth it. Every dish had it's own taste and the adana kebab was the best I ever ate (outside Turkiye ofcourse). It was quite busy in the restsurant and the staff forgot to bring the check a few times so the service can be a little bit better. Overall really good. Give it a try when in Mannheim.

As far as Turkish food goes, it is as close as it can be that one can find in Germany. But, I can't call it genuine. I ordered ciğer and adana kebab as well as lahmacun. Both ciğer and adana was below average. Ciğer supposed to be cut smaller and traditionally they both served with flatbread instead of rice. Surprisingly, lahmacun was great. I can safely call it best lahmacun I've ever had in Germany. Their ayran is also freshly made and tastes great. The service was nice. Waiters are quite talkative, it's up to person whether it's a good thing or not. Atmosphere there makes you feel like you are in Turkey.

Great delicious kebabs, freshly made traditional drinks and very affordable prices. If I could I would give thousand of stars. Thank you for being in Mannheim!

Very tasty foods and different menus. If you appreciate your privacy it is not the right place for you as the tables are very close to one another. No parking places available so it is better to park in some garage and walk to the restaurant.

Americans visiting Mannheim but staying in an area of Mannheim where many people from Turkey or of Turkish descent live. Happens we love food prepared in a more traditional German style but also love food prepared as those acquainted with Turkish food preparation and those traditional ingredients. Happens tonight’s meal at Turk Sofrasi was a recommendation given by the evening consierge of Mercure Hotel - her personal favorite for Turkish style food. We both found Turk Sofrasi tonight an absolutely exceptional experience. Our waiter walked us through the menu, made a couple of recommendations for dishes we might enjoy. The meals hit all the marks for beautifully balanced, beautiful presentation, perfect temperature, lamb grilled perfectly and our personal guide - our waiter - then walked us through a fascinating yet brief, 3-episode history of a very special dessert that, for us- unforgettable. We’ve eaten more than our share of fine foods and while Turk Sofrasi is more a great local spot for healthy beautifully prepared foods it’s unpretentious- in all ways. Thank you Turk Sofrasi! Well done.

I was with my friend to the restaurant today to have lunch. During my last visit to the place(during pre-Covid times), I could not even enter the restaurant, there was a huge queue waiting for their turn. This time, it was much easier, many empty chairs, possibly because it was lunch hours. Now for the experience. We ordered a portion of french fries, minced lamb grill and bread. - Service : 5 out 5 (Right from order taking, delivering food on time, being courteous) - Ambience: 5 out 5 - Location of the restaurant: 5 out 5 - Food: The lamb grill was very tender and nice in taste. However, underneath were also bread crumbles flooding in yogurt. The taste of the lamb was nullified with the overflowing yogurt. The french fries could be fried a bit more. Going by the reputation of this place, it was a huge let down for us. I visit turkish restaurants quite often and I am not sure if I am really coming back to this restaurant if I am in the city again. Word of advice: If you are ordering Chicken or Lamb Grill, please inform them in advance not to flood your plate with yogurt.

For the sake of understandibility, I will write an English comment as a Turkish person. Today I was in this restaurant. First of all, nothing special there. All of the restaurants in Marktplatz are more or less the same. However, this restaurant does not accept credit cards! The only payment method is cash, which I certainly did not like. Secondly, there is no tea service on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (The waiter said this). This is unacceptable in Turkish culture. A restaurant must serve free tea for every customer. And this restaurant even does not have a tea service. That's why I strictly do not recommend this restaurant. Instead, you can try the lale restaurant on left. They don't have a free tea service either but at least you can pay with a card. Overall, I am not satisfied and I will not eat here again.

Highly recommend, especially number 85 on menu for meat lover (mixed between chopped and grounded lamb meat kebab) I'm surprised because the meat was marinated so close to the way Vietnamese people marinate charcoal grilled meat (only that we use pork and lemongrass) One of the best charcoal grilled meat I ever had after 1 year in Germany! The professional here know what to do with their meat and charcoal grill!

Nice ambience and short waiting time. But the Doener meat was awful and the Adana Kebap was tasteless. Disappointing.

You visit Marktplatz and are overwhelmed by all the turkish restaurants there? This is your choice to go.. Best food in an original cozy turkish atmosphere. The BBQ is outstanding and the Pide is the best :)

Good food, good service, but not enough food to fill you up, The plat filled with bread onions and hot sauce past to make plate looks full. Pricey for a meal that left me hungry.
