Die kreative Aktion besonders für Kinder, mit Legosteinen ein Riff zu gestalten, gefiel mir sehr gut! Der Blick ins Archiv ist eine tolle Idee.

Alleine die beeindruckende Architektur der Kunstalle ist schon ein Besuch wert. Die aktuelle 1,5 Grad Ausstellung behandelt das Thema des Klimawandels auf künstlerische Art und ist thematisch sehr interessant aufgegliedert. Aber auch die permante Kollektion der Kunsthalle Mannheim ist absolut sehenswert und besonders die impressionante Keramiksammlung ist hervorzuheben.

Don’t forget to bring the headphones for the audio introductions for the artwork ( it requires KUMA App). Oh and the Lego- station is a nice add on for everyone, especially for the kids. I love the co-working area, simple yet classy design!

Very inspirational collection of modern art and installations - be prepared to spend a minimum of three hours exploring the space and it’s displayed works. However, attendants gave a discomforting feeling of being followed and surveiled - not sure this is helpful; in case children would misbehave, it’s a bit too late to prevent any damage. Instead I suggest parents to bring children who come with understanding and appreciation for the art, and museum staff to trust that this is the case!

This gallery is just a short walk from the main station and houses 19th and 20th century art and other contemporary works. The gallery itself is a combination of 2 buildings - the original with 'Jugendstil' influences and the new wing completed in 2017 (clean lines, natural light...). Was well impressed by Hanna Nagel's work, which was on exhibit when I visited.

Building is very ugly, inside and out. I wonder what it looked like before they made it so pretentious and uninviting. There was one beautiful part, an old marble stairway that was (surprisingly) allowed to stay (albeit, with a hideous new chandelier).
