Old rooms with used furniture. The bathroom was clean but in a degrading state. My first room had a broken window with a noisy draft that I couldn't get rid of. The advertised free water wasn't in the room. I learned later that I would get it at the check-in, but nobody offered it to me. Sneaky. Also, no advertised iron in the room either. Which I actually needed. The breakfast was cheap and soulless. Two cans of filter coffee and fat / low fat milk. Very cheap selection of cold cuts and cheese. I am really disappointed, so I will skip it a second day and get something somewhere else. In that state, it should be a cheap hostel for frugal travellers.

The hotel is pretty old and needs some updating. Very close to the station. Our room and bathroom were clean and the breakfast was nice. The housekeeping and breakfast people were very nice. However the reception was very uninterested and cold. The woman that we checked in with and the woman that we checked out with looked like they didn't want to be there. I also called 2 times just to ask a question but each time after I said 'Hai can I ask you a question?' she hung up on me. I work in a hotel myself and I would NEVER just hang up on a guest or treat them like that. The male receptionist that had never seen us before just gave us back our key that we had left behind, without knowing who we were or asking for any identification. You can basically just walk in the hotel and ask for the key of any room and he will give it to you. Very odd.

Great location but what a rip off. €200 for a night in a 2* hotel - heaven alone know's how they got 3*s! No hot breakfast, unless you count a lone boiled egg. Sadly the Maritim was booked out so I got stuck in the Novum but I'll never do it again.

Room was ok but very very warm. We had a fan and open windows but very heavy traffic noise. Carpet needs renewal otherwise room satisfactory. Breakfast very good and lovely staff

Breakfast...... horrible! Rooms .... below average! Views ..... none ! The hotel itself is well overpriced for what you get for your money . If you look for comfort, think about spending a couple $$$ extra , you will be better off.

The location is great, 5 minutes away from both the center and the train station. However, the rooms are quite old and have bad lighting. The breakfast was nice compared to the room fee. The rooms need renovation.

Thank goodness for a decent breakfast and nice staff because our room literally smelled like someone had peed all over and there was bleach stains outside of the door. Never staying here again.

Reviews on here don’t do the place justice. Ok yes we’ll worn place but the staff first class location to Mannheim brilliant WiFi great breakfast quality and main one for British value for money compared to other hotels. Stayed for three days on a budget was made to feel very welcome. Many thanks. Mark Murphy.

Good hotel, cheap and quiet. Is not a five star hotel but perfectly enough.

I would not recommend staying in this Hotel. The Room I got was very hot and Noisy. Furniture is old and some of it needs to be repaired. Bathroom was clean and the staff nice but overall too expensive for what they offer!
