One of the iconic monuments to depict the heroism of SL Forces. This was built to commomerate the union of the two regiments who met face to face after clearing off the LTTE barracades. This marked the success of the humanitarian effort by the Sri Lanka Tri Forces. The names of the regiments and the commanding officers are mentioned here. There is a war museum close to this monument with images of the rescue operations and maps depicting with details the routes and the methods and tactics that the Sri Lankan Tri Forces used to succeed the humanitarian effort.

This is a symbol which our Sri Lankan army have done for our country in last LTTE war. This shows how Sri Lankan army attacked in all four directions with support other teams. They have used some cords (which I could not understood) for mark the teams. should not pass without visiting this place.

Victory Monument in Puthukkudiyiruppu, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. This monument depicts a Sri Lankan Army solider waving a flag in one hand and raising his weapon in the other.

This is the monument which was built to keep the memory of great victory against LTTE in our minds. Each stones of this monument stands for some unit or some group who helped to win this war. ex- 53rd inf, 58th inf, SLP....this is not the exact place that our great heroes end up the war. It’s little bit far from here. Next to this monument there is a museum which speaks about the war step by step.

Disrespectful and sad for the ten of thousands Tamil civilians tortured , starved and killed by the sri lankan forces during the last war according to many United Nations reports . Don't like the negative energy of those war places ...

Built at the location where Sri Lankan forces gathered after defeating the LTTE in 2009. The soldier in the monument is facing towards the Nandikadal Lagoon where the final battle of the civil war took place. This monument should remind us that as a nation we should never have to deal with a war ever again.

03.07.2023 This monument was built to commemorate the humanitarian mission (4th Ealam War). The names of the divisions that fought in the last war are mentioned on this statue, showing the direction in which they arrived at the last battle field. (Initialy, all divisions were gathered at the beach where the Fara shipwrecks are lying. But the monument was built near this road due to easy access) The direction of the soldier's face on the monument shows the area where the leader of the terrorists died. This area has significance in Sri Lanka's Political history because it is where the last battle happened and was concluded.

This Monument of Victory is located in  Parantan-Mullaitivu Highway. The monument had been dedicated to the memory of all War Heroes who fought in the Wanni humanitarian operations. The blue background to this ‘Victory Monument in Victorious Land’ depicts the blue ocean and the flowers around it the Sri Lankan Nation. Four Lions at four corners of the memorial immortalize the contribution of the War Heroes who came from all four directions to win the final battle. The soldier sculptor that carries a weapon symbolizes valour and gallantry of soldiers. The National flag on it demonstrates the sovereignty, independence and dignity of the nation. After the rainy season, the water levels are full and this place looks very beautiful. At night, here light settings are more beautiful.

PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU, near the mangroves in Nanthikadal lagoon where heroic War Heroes annihilated world’s most ruthless cycle of terrorism and its megalomaniac monster during a dignified military ceremony this morning (9) received recognition and immortality with a “Victory Monument” before a galaxy of military chiefs, including President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The special “Victory Monument”, erected at Puthumattalan in memory of all those War Heroes who triumphed over evil and sacrificed their lives for the noblest of all noble causes was unveiled amidst hoisting of the National Flag and Tri-service Flags by President Rajapaksa and Tri-service Commanders respectively. The visiting President on arrival at the venue was accorded a Guard of Honour by Commando Regiment soldiers. Minutes after that the President hoisted the National flag and all Tri-Service Commanders simultaneously hoisted the flags of their respective services. Adding colour and dignity to the occasion was the raising of the Wanni Security Forces Headquarters flag, all Divisional and Task Force flags, representing all War Heroes who contributed to the recently-concluded Wanni humanitarian operations by respective commanders who took part in the offensives against terrorism. Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Tri-service Commanders were also associated with the occasion. Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Acting Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Roshan Gunathilake unveiled two plaques on both sides of the new monument soon after the President declared it opened. President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing a record 5000 strong gathering of Army personnel after opening of the monument paid a glittering tribute to their invaluable contribution during the Wanni battles. President Rajapaksa later on declared open an information outlet that could be used by War Heroes as a reference centre while serving in Puthukkudiyiruppu. He also took time off to mingle with War Heroes and shared a couple of thoughts with them before the ceremonies came to an end.

“The journey into the tiger territory” this is the place where all brigade gathers from all over the battle filed and finally killed the Dog at Nanthi Kadal or known to as Mulathiv lagoon. Take a very close look at the stones underneath the statue where it has written each and every participant bridge, units, company etc.

This place is a gorgeous place that covered with in a large lake. This place is built because the Victory of the war between 'Sinhalese and the Tamil's (terrorist)'. This place is built by Mahinda Rajapaksha in 9th December 2009. This monument is about a Sinhala man holding the Sri Lankan Flag an a AK47 (gun). When we going closer to the monument you should pass by a wooden bridge, please be careful when you're passing this bridge because there are some holes in the bridge. Also there is a army solider guarding this monument. If you're visiting this place make sure to go and visit the Information Center in near the Monument!
