Honestly wasn’t all that. It was okay; very mediocre Italian food. Small portions, and they don’t do things like add chicken to the food for you. Setting is cute and cozy though. Sitting outside in the winter while it was raining was nice cause they have the plastic covers. Service was good.

Even though I went there not hungry, I couldn’t resist the pizza with prosciutto! The place is calm and nice, the service is good and the food tasted great. Worth the try.

ATTENTION!! Do NOT fall into the trap of 50% discount they give in case you pay in $ cash or with an international credit card!! Since they will give you a 50% discount on the official price of $ which is 1500L.L., so they are technically robbing you using your ignorance!! Just exchange your money at any exchanger at the rate of 1$=12800L.L. (at the moment of writing this review) and ALWAYS pay in Lebanese Lira!! As for the food, comparing it to the real Italian food (since I live in Italy), I would say it is good enough!! The pasta was overcooked, but the sauce was really delicious!! So I would give a 7/10 rating for the food!

A great Italian restaurant nestled in a cozy corner in the Mar Mikhael district. The pizzas and the aubergine are great! The service is not the best, as a matter of fact a couple of waiters were borderline rude to us towards closing time.

I passed by this place as I was in the neighborhood. The place is nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and professional and the service was fast. The appetizer that had mushroom in sea urchin sauce was so good. The gnocchi was so delicious but the portion was a bit small. One more thing to add, the bread they served as you sit down on the table was so yummy, one of the best I ever had. It will always be nice to have a good meal at such a place.

Excellent service / perfect location We ordered a pizza margherita, 3 gnocchi pesto plates, mushroom risotto and ravioli. The food was good but very salty. We all could not finish our plates because of it.

One of the better authentic Italian restaurants in Beirut. Good ambiance, however it can get a bit loud when crowded. Overall, a great resturant. Reasonable pricing.

This is one of the finest Italian restaurants in town. Their menu offers a diverse range of delectable dishes. The Pollo Alla Diavola was cooked to perfection, the Funghi Al Ricci Di Mare was exquisite, and the Tiramisu was simply heavenly. The staff was also exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

I went for dinner with friends. After having lived in Italy for 5 years, I crave authentic Italian place. And this place gives a good variety at good places. Most importantly the quality is good and the food is very similar to authentic Italian food.

It's one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Beirut. The staff are friendly and the manager is very helpful. I still haven't tried a dish I didn't like. It's usually always full and you might need to wait a bit to get a table but it's definitely worth it. If you like pizza you'll surely like it at Tavolina; I also recommend the artichoke stuffed with hot goat cheese as an appetizer. Delicious!

One of my favorite Italian spots in Beirut. Really great Italian food and an overall great dining experience, whether for lunch or dinner, the place is always packed and is very charming and cozy on the inside. Nice casual seating on the outside facing the street. Recommended dishes: Melanzane Parmigianno and the Vitello Tunato for starters, the goat cheese pizza is amazing.

It was the first time I get mixed feelings about a restaurant. On one hand, the food is authentic and rich in flavor and taste, and on the other hand small portions, and it's chaos all over the place topped with unprofessional staff and a "non chalance" attitude. Waiters barely look at you, place is small and always full, so waiters are spending most of their time seating people and trying to find seats. You might order the same item 4 times till reaches you. Needs a better management and staff training... yet again it was rush hour, maybe visiting another time would've been a nicer experience

We went in to the restaurant, a group of six friends, thinking we'll enjoy a good Italian meal, we made a reservation, got there on time, got comfortable to order but the menu was all too confusing to non-italian connoisseurs! We, as a group, are no Italian-food connoisseurs, of course! So we asked for the maître to help us with our choices, he started laughing at us and mocking our lack of knowledge in Italian, saying don't you know where you're coming to eat! I mean so sorry for not knowing the greatness that is whatever the name of your restaurant is! Now we are not illiterate! We just don't know Italian! After being smug, the waiter left us to go do i don't know what! Another waiter came, and we asked, politely again, for the second time, to help us with our choices, he got puffy and hot and impatient, literally like a bloated fish, and asked "what is it that you don't understand?!" as if we can't even read! Now at this point one of the group got so impatient with the disrespect that he got up and faced the waiter regarding the waiting and the disrespect and the impatience! The waiter was sooooo rude in calming my friend down and slapped the towel he was carrying and got into the restaurant slamming the door behind him, in front of everyoneeee sitting, everyoneeeeeee.. It was unreal!! Never been in a restaurant with a staff so stiff and rude.. That was our experience... We walked to the italian restaurant right across the street.. Got our night back on track.. And had fun with good food served there..

Place is usually crowded. The setting is nice, and the welcome once you arrive is sufficient. We had to wait for a table, we're told it would be 5 to 10 minutes, but ended up waiting for 35 minutes instead. We ordered the fried calamari and recieved the grilled calamari instead. Sadly it was undercooked on one side and gooey, lacked any sort of dressing and was bland. We also ordered the mushroom risotto which was over cooked and tasted like Maggie mushroom soup. Definitely lacked texture and moisture. We also had a pizza which was acceptable and the veal escalope which was also okey but the oil it was fried on tasted oil and semi burnt. It definitely a mediocre Italian restaurant that is way overpriced for the quality and taste. We left full but disappointed. Never again unless it's for quarter the price.

Probably the beat italian restaurant in Beirut. Always full, so you better arrive before 8h30 in order to avoid waiting to get a table.

One of the best italian restaurants you can find in town. The location in the heart of Mar Mkhayel area with a simple and cozy decor makes it perfect for a romantic first date or getting along with friends. Their pizzas and pastas are delicious and they preserved the quality and fair prices even during this economic crisis that Lebanon is currently passing.

Mediocre restaurant. Service is average, not professional. Food is just ok, not bad, not great. Prices should be lower for the quality and the whole experience.

  • 1/5 Re7bene 2 years ago on Google
The waiter doesn't explain what comes in the plates showing how not knowledgeable the waiter is thus concluding that the manager isn't professional as well. We ordered a ravioli spinach dish and got surprised that they were only 9 pieces in the plate showcasing how little the portion is knowing that its price is 200 000 lebanese lira. Never coming back to this place! 3ayb

  • 5/5 Zeina F. 4 years ago on Google
When you say Italian you simply say Tavolina! A wide variety of pizzas and pastas will definitely meet your taste, appetizers and main courses as well. The truffle Ravioli is highly recommended, and if melons are in season, you wouldn't want to miss that combination with prosciutto.

The food is quite good and the menu is diverse. It is a good outlet for a romantic dinner in the capital. However, it is quite "small" and when it gets crowded you might feel a bit overwhelmed. The staff is attentive to details and very professional. Recommended for a night out with your partner once in a while.

Very cozy Italian place in Mar mkhayel Street. The staff were really friendly and nice. The food was average plus which still makes it recommendable as a dinner option. The risotto was not special or tasty so I would recommend trying something else. Melanzane is a must try as it's really good! The atmosphere was a bit noisy which is expectable in a crowded small place.
