Naggar Castle

Elegant castle made of stones and woods in Kathkooni architecture, a heritage hotel owned by Himachal Pradesh Tourism. It houses Jagat Patti temple, believed to be main seat of Gods of Kullu. You can reach here from Kullu or Manali. Bhuntar Airport is just 32 kms. There is entry fees of 50 INR. Timings are 9 AM to 6 PM. It overlooks the beautiful Kullu Valley. You can stay here overnight. There is a restaurant also. Many famous movies like Jab we met, Bang Bang, Tubelight were shot there. P.S - There are many attractions around this which you can visit like Roerich Art Gallery, 11th century temples - Gaurishankar & Krishna temple.

we visited here on 1st May so it was quite hot. Nothing special. If you're in vicinity then can be visited otherwise can be skipped. Castle is converted into a hotel so many parts are not accessible to tourists. To me, only good thing seemed to be the view of surroundings but that again is similar to what we can find better in Manali. We left in 30 minutes as there nothing much to see. Not sure what they are charging 50 rupees for. This one can be skipped.

Unfortunately for me, the castle was closed for renovation. I could only see some parts of its exterior. In any case, there is hardly any maintenance. I feel it should be taken over by the ASI. Also, private building much bigger and grander than the palace near its vicinity must not be allowed. There is too much of unregulated commercialization around it. There is hardly any parking space.

Open daily (9 AM–6 PM), it charges an entry fee of ₹30 and offers heritage stays with modern amenities . Nearby attractions include the Gauri Shankar Temple and Jana Waterfall, making it a must-visit for history and nature lovers alike.

Very beautiful palace. They say on a good day you can see kullu and manali. However when I want it was under restoration, so most of rooms were shut. But they let me walked around. The parking is a little away, and it is at a price. The palace holds a very old temple as well. Ahead of the palace is a russian art museum which is a must go. Further, lot of cafe are also there incase you want to try some bakery items. If you are in manali, then this can be kept for a half day visit on your way back or during your rest days.

The Naggar Castle is an amazing tourist spot. Even though its a place if sightseeing, the castle is very small and can be covered within an hours time. The Castle also has a restaurant run by Himachal Tourism in the castle and has amazing views. There is also a museum in the temple which one can visit.

Nagar castle was home to the erstwhile king. The palace or castle is still beautiful and a fine example of art and carving. The place has now been converted to a hotel and restaurant but visitors are still allowed to roam around and have a glimpse or art and culture and can see the museum there

Must see! The architecture is very cool and the view is amazing. It was actually closed on the morning that I went, but the men at the reception were extremely kind and let me walk around without buying a ticket.

A decent spot if you’re in the area, mainly known for its old-world charm and scenic views. The architecture is interesting, and the wooden detailing does give you that vintage Himachali vibe. It’s also a great place for clicking photos, especially with the mountains in the background. But honestly, there isn’t much to see inside — just a small museum section and a few preserved rooms. If you’re expecting a detailed historical tour, you might be a little underwhelmed. There’s a café inside, but it’s quite overpriced for what it offers. Better to grab a bite somewhere else in Naggar. Overall, it’s a nice quick stop — go for the views and photos, not for deep exploration.

This was just an amazing place , A secret - If you're visiting Nagar Castle , don't forget to visit the chai trail cafe , it's hardly 50 metres away from the spot. But the experience was just amazing over there. I enjoyed every minute which I spent here. You can visit here by 10 AM , this place would feel like heaven. There's no rush in the morning.. Tickets cost 100 rupees per person for both museums.

Naggar Castle was closed for renovation when we visited, but the trip was still worth it. The route was scenic and adventurous, and the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. A nice place to explore for the journey and views alone.

A beautiful castle situated in the quaint village of Naggar which is at a distance of 1hr from Manali. Can get crowded during weekends and public holidays. The Castle also offers an in-house restaurant as well as accommodation options. Paid parking is available.

If you live medieval vibes, this place can be in your list. Perfectly offers the medieval vibes. The castle is made of wood and now has been turned into hotel if you want luxury. The castle has an amazing view of the valley. But on weekends it might get crowded and noisy.

Its very peaceful and different place all over India to gain writable knowledge and true story of mountains, even biggest scientist Einstein also come this place. It’s very good to kid to learn our culture.
