Chef Chan in Markham has been in business for more than 20 years. They are a well know local favourite for Chinese Takeout. Overall, their foods are good with reasonable price. Staffs are very friendly and helpful and would try their best to accommodate customers requirements.

SORRY guys, we’ve been a LOYAL customer for over a decade and then some ( lost track ). We moved from Markham and have NOT found a replacement for Chef Chan. We used too call in an order and they would recognize our voice and parrot our order too us. It’s a little hole in the wall place, a little nook at the GO station. If you’d blink you’d miss it, but boy was it a very special place There good people and we felt valued. However I think there been a change, and not for the better It’s been about 2 years since we’ve been back to Chef Chan. Our last two dinners were so bad the food wasn’t finished and THROWN OUT! Yes, we gave them another chance, because they WERE that good. It was always a race to the kitchen for the leftovers. Especially for a General or Sesame chicken sandwich on a crusty bread. General Tao (?) - If he was as good a General as our meal was , then they lost their battle. Sesame Chicken - Bland and I know it’s been my favourite for years. Curry something - It was a sloppy mess of “ I think it’s curry, right? “ If it wasn’t for the colour, you wouldn’t have known what you were eating. Shrimp dish - Was ok, but ok was for other restaurants not Chef Chan House rice - Fortunately that has never failed, but it’s NOT enough to keep us? SORRY no pictures with this review, it all went in garbage - NObody wanted it! SORRY Chef Chan, next time we try Tangerine.

The food has no flavor at all. The chicken wings were hard and cold they only put 2 shrimp in the Cantonese chowmein and the beef and green peppers only had like 4 tiny pieces of beef. I wouldn't ever recommend anyone to this place.

I recently ordered the Singapore rice Noodles. It tasted like Noodles seasoned with turmeric only. I guess because I was a first time customer they took advantage. It tasted very bad. Will never go there again.

Great Chinese takeout place - I'm never disappointed with the quality of food or service. Food quality is comparable to a sit-down Chinese restaurant like Congee Queen or Asian Legend, but less expensive, as this is a takeout only place. My wife and I each enjoy the 'dinner for one' deals with an option for noodles, and the sweet and sour chicken balls are very nicely done. It's great in a pinch when we're too busy to cook dinner. Really friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. I have yet to find a better option for takeout.

A nice family running this business and their general Tao chicken is worth it. Best price in town.

Quick service, great staff! Ordered various foods very good. Only negative was beef with green pepper in black bean sauce was very tasty but there was hardly any beef to be found, it was mostly green peppers.

Wonderful family and I love how they teach their children to help with the family business. Fresh Cantonese cuisine. Mapo Tofu and mushroom fried rice was delicious 💯

Really high-quality American style Chinese food at a very affordable price.

Ordered delivery of food - cost including delivery and tip was over $80. First plastic bag of food was not properly packaged - fluid running out of the paper bag within. Food quality was a disappointment and we ended up throwing out 80 percent of what we ordered which included egg rolls, rice, chow menu and two types of chicken. Maybe it was just a bad day at the restaurant - this is the only time we have ordered from Chef Chan.

I adored their food when I was pregnant. I would say their food is “American Chinese” type… kind of like Manchu wok type… it’s definitely no longer a go to but they quick and efficient.

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever had. We had to throw it all out.

Used to live in Markham and order from here all the time. Went back this week ordered food was disgusting and thrown on the garage.

Bought the beef in peanut sauce and beef and black bean and both were terrible. Hardly any meat and loaded with green pepper. Don't waste your money. Next time I'm going to Frederick's.

I have ordered take out here a couple of times a year and it was always decent. Not sure what happened but the order we picked up for our annual New Year’s Day dinner was terrible. Peppers in the beef with black bean were raw, bland Singapore noodle, brutal egg rolls. Never going back.

We just moved to Markham and tried the food and we loved it. We found our new local amazing Canadian Chinese Food restaurant.
