A very lovely place to visit. To start with lots of parking spaces, picnic tables and tons of natural beauty to enjoy. Anyone loves to be close with nature, check this location. Kids can play and run around while you can enjoy. Trails are available to explore. Forest habitats can be noticed hear and there. There is an admissions free (from May 21 to Oct 10): Adult $4.50, Senior $3.50 and kids under 15 are free. Park is opened from 8am to evening (weekend 9pm).

It is such a beautiful park! It is a good place for walking and looking at nature's beauty. There are benches next to the lake where we can sit and look at the lake view. The lake view is calming and relaxing. Great place for children too. Thank you:)

A very nice park in the city with hiking trails and lots of green space for picnics, dog walking, biking, Frisbee tossing and kite flying. Which is a great spot for the entire family to enjoy. Parking is free on weekdays but on weekends and statutory holidays there is a nominal fee. Admission is due at the entrance as follows - Adults: $4.50, Seniors: $3.50, Children 15 and under: Free. Public washrooms were open. We hiked along the trails and saw a couple of suspension and wooden bridges towards the dam.

What a beautiful place to take a walk.. even in early spring. Dogs loved it . Weekdays free. Weekends not. Thank goodness there are restrictions because nature deserves a level of respect and peace. Horrifying to hear loud music and bbqs everywhere. Destroys the nature.

Nestled in the city of Markham. A great spot for a picnic. Beautiful green space with water access. Went on a weekday so no entry fee. The site was flat, with the standard picnic tables and a good size shelter. There was even washroom facilities BONUS especially with young kids. Only spent time in a section of the park. Will definitely go back to explore the pedestrian suspension bridge and other parts of the park.

Great park with lots of picnic tables. Plenty of room for everyone. BBQ is now allowed (only charcoal) and restrooms reopened. Make sure to access the parking from Mccowan, lots of spaces available. Great nature scenes, you follow a small trail along the lake's shore and connect with other trails near by. Trail will lead you over a few bridges before reaching the dam. Great for biking or just a quiet walk. Lots of wildlife along the way.

This conservation park is huge! They used to charge $5 fees per parking but currently they postponed it. Perfect for picnic + biking + outdoor events. It's so therapeutic here. Spacious parking and a lot of picnic tables. Area closer to Highway 7th has Monarch Butterfly garden. Also amazing place for bird watching. Just be aware of gypsy moths! They're everywhere during spring and early summer. I wouldn't recommend you touching them if you don't want to suffer from itching, hives and possible allergy for couple of days. If you plan to go biking here- this conservation is connected all the way to Therapy trail.

Overall we liked this park. It’s well maintained and peaceful. The main downside is that you can hear the noise from the highway. This park is good for picnics, there is probably about a hundred picnic tables. :) Most of them, however, are on the sunny spots. It’s great also for biking with kids, trails are mostly flat and trails are short. The pavement is not suitable for scooters, though.

We came on a weekend and the park had the right number of people. There was a vast amount of park for everyone. Watch out for bikers as the trail is shared equally between both. There are also tire pumps for bikers. Be aware that this is for families and the walk is on paths versus a hike. There are also alot of bridges and a dam which is great.

Such a beautiful quiet park. Perfect for picnic. For family or group outdoor events. Fall Scenery is awesome also the other season. Wonderful nature. Lots of benches. Entrance was used to be about 5. During pandemic we entered for free. Lots of parking. Every Canada day there is firework celebration. It is also closer to Markville mall and old Unionville 🥰

Did the loop around the Rouge River. The east section was a little bit challenging, while the south section was mostly wooded. On the west side, had to go along the McCowan sidewalk to cross the bridge to re-enter the park to close the loop. It was just over 7km in length, overall was pretty easy trail. It was gray, the photos looked like black and white.

After all these years I finally checked out this Conservation Park which is really close to home and I must say it is really well kept, clean and a nice short easy trail to do with my 10 year old Pomeranian. The elevation isn’t too steep and overall it was nice to see how well maintained the park is. I would definitely come back. Wide enough trails to share with bikers, runners and those who just want to enjoy a nice walk. There’s areas you can enjoy by the water, check out the dam, public washrooms and plenty of parking spots available. Parking is free during the weekdays.

Love this park, spacious and clean. Fall colour is gorgeous as usual. Better come here on the weekdays, plenty of parking. Tried to stay away on weekends, fees charge is acceptable but challenging to find parking, especially during summer time.

Great hiking path that's close to home. There's always parking and the trails are clearly indicated. Plenty of evidence of wildlife (beavers).

This is my go to park to bike, walk, jog or just to enjoy a beautiful day. It is a huge park with lots of parking, main washroom and portables on the main park. 2.3 kilometers of trails, a Beach area but not suitable for swimming. Lots of picnic tables. The park opens at 8am and entrance is free on weekdays. Weekends and stat holidays is $4.50 for adults, 3.50 for seniors, children and under is free.

This park is amazing for a family outing. The lake is serene and the picnic tables are plentiful. Long trails that take you to a bridge in a forest area and also to the Milne Dam. Tons of parking and this place is free on weekdays. Weekends can get busy and you may have to wait to get in as you have to pay for entry. Highly recommend visiting this park.

Here is the maple viewing guide in downtown Toronto - Milne Dam Conversation Park. This park is truly a must for maple viewing! ❤ This park is located in Markham, about half an hour's drive from downtown Toronto. The whole park is so big that if you walk, you probably won’t be able to finish it in half a day😂, but it’s only a 2-3 minute walk from the parking lot 🅿️ to where I took the photo. It is more suitable for skateboarding, cycling, etc. It will be very beautiful to walk along the path and pass through one maple forest after another. This is a great place for gatherings of family and friends, because on weekends there will be a lot of people gathering here in this park, having barbecues, etc. Not to mention how attractive the aroma is. 😍 🗺️Park name: Milne Dam Conversation Park🗺️ ⏰Opening hours: 24 hours⏰ 🎫Tickets: Free🆓. 🎫 🚘About transportation: There is a bus to get there. It takes about 10 minutes to walk after getting off the bus. If you drive by yourself, parking here🅿️ is also free. 🚘 ⭐It is very close to Markville Shopping Center. If you feel hungry after visiting the park, there are many delicious food here. ⭐

Great Escape from Being Cooped up at Home!! During our COVID 19 lockdown and other alerts, we were looking for a place with space and for my kids to run around and have fun. A friend mentioned Milne Dam Conservation Park as a place we can go and have some fun without worrying about crowds. I had been to this park before, and it just slipped my mind about it. I packed up the kids, got some pizza from Little Ceasars, and went there for a picnic. The park is huge and although we were intimidated by all the cars being there, we were surprised to find how spacious the park was. Despite the fact that there were many people there, there was so much room for us to be safe and be physically distanced from other people. We found a few empty picnic tables by the water and had a nice lunch under a tree with lots of shade. It was a warm early fall day and the trees had yet to start turning colour. Once we finished our picnic we spent the rest of our visit exploring the park. There are trails and marked paths all over the park and in the woods as well. We explored all afternoon and had a great time. We needed to burn all those calories after a pizza lunch. The park itself is very clean, well maintained, and for the most part, the restrooms were clean as well. There is a fee to enter the park which only cost us around four dollars. There are a few different parking lots and parking is available and since cars are coming and going, we were able to easily find a parking spot within minutes of arriving. The overall experience was amazing and the kids had a great time. I highly recommend this park.

Milne Dam Conservation Park is such a hidden gem. My first visit was last Fall when the Fall color was at its peak. I walked from the parking to the Milner Dam then back. There's people of all kinds chilling there. The paths are not as smooth as in a park. It's a little bit of a hike, but not too challenging so I believe many elderly will still be able to enjoy it.

  • 3/5 jonas l. 3 years ago on Google
Nice park for a stroll, to take pictures, and I guess other stuff? Either way its a big enough park for you and your friends and never seems to be too crowded with great parking space. I wish there was more activities or proper care of the sand/beach. It would make it feel more like a lake or beachfront which is what I think is missing. I also don't remember seeing bbq, why not have them? Maybe the residential areas are too close for those type of activities.

Nice excellent view u must visit for fall colors. Good Cycling track walking track beautiful Rouge River dam you can find lot Of fishes also 153 hector wildlife sanctuary ... A nice wooded gravel trail that goes east from the parking lot to the dam, with wide-open fields and wildflowers. There is an entry fee. Accessibility: There are at least four designated accessible spaces in the large paved parking lot by the picnic shelter at the east end of the trail inside of the trail loop. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt or gravel (with bridges with railings) and typically at least 2 meters wide. The estimated grade is mostly gentle (5% or less) except for uphill steep sections (8-12%) at about 0.7 and 1.1 kilometers when going counterclockwise. Hikers using wheelchair/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance in the steeper sections or to avoid them for safety. All-terrain tires or motorized equipment may be needed for the unpaved sections or steep areas. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.

Beautiful park that borders a residential area. It covers a large amount of space and is a great place to walk around, walk your dog, or just people watch. Had a nice visit last weekend in the middle of winter with family. Temperature was -9c and kind of windy. So you may want to dress up properly. You can hike from the park to the suspension bridge and it was quite beautiful. I saw hokey and skating rings on the frozen lake close to the suspension bridge. Now I am not sure if it is safe but lots of people are skating and doing hokey shoot around there. We couldn't resist and walked out to the lake as well. The ice seemed to be quite solid although I didn't find any info if the ice is tested:) There was also a nice slope for tobogganing too.

  • 5/5 Som T. 3 years ago on Google
Really nice and large park. When during the winter so there were people playing hockey and skating on the frozen ice. There are patches of ice on the walk path, so you have to be careful when you walk.

The park is normally open but even some days when the entrance gates are closed to cars you can just park at the nearby shopping plaza on Highway 7 and walk down to the park. The dam and the bridge near it are interest points in the conservation area. Besides that there are a few, easy hiking trails along the river. Of course, the main advantage of this place is its close proximity to the city ... Coincidentally, it is also one of the disadvantages because it makes the conservation area crowded at times.
