Luv walking around Main Street Markham. It has a nice mixture of retail stores, restaurants, bars and filled with nice historic Victorian style buildings. It's peaceful and people are courteous. Lots of free parking spaces along the streets. In particular, I really enjoy the small Joseph Street Parkette, the structure with seating is so nice!

Love this other famous Main Street in markham! Also lots of boutique shops like the other unionville Main Street. This one also has a ton of cafes and great restaurants too! Nice to walk around in summer and a few Xmas lights displays in the winter as well

It was nice to have a walk along Main Street Markham on a sunny day. We enjoyed the original historic Downtown Markham Village. The buildings were historic and awesome for photos. They have a few small coffee shops and restaurants where you can seat in and enjoy food & drinks. The other shops were mainly closed so there was nothing to buy.

Quaint, quintessential main street. Lovely little shops and restaurants to visit with a different dish in each for everyone. Long enough to enjoy but short enough to walk on a nice day.

It’s a really lovely street to visit during the summer. It’s such a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. Lots of restaurants to choose from to have a meal. If you can, grab a table somewhere on the patio and enjoy the beautiful summer weather

Visit: September 2023 Love the vibe and architecture of this area. Lots of music and food in the area. I'm sad that I wasn't able to explore more

I was walking down this street one night and suddenly this twenty-something guy with two dogs looks at me, smiles, approaches me, and starts to say something. At first, I was confused as his words seemed like gibberish. After a while, I realized that he was trying to string together a bunch of meaningless Chinese words in a terrible accent. Because I look Chinese. Odd to have this kind of experience in a place like Markham, but this just goes to show the type of place this is. Unlike Main Street Unionville, which a friend of mine so aptly described as having a self-aware faux old Canadian town, Main Street Markham is the most real old-town Canadian street you might find in Markham. But with its curses comes its charms - you can even experience a Victorian-style tea room here, which I am sure you cannot do in many other places in the GTA. So as much as this street has its negatives, it also has its positives. Comes with the territory, I guess.

Terrific Main St that is always working to improve itself. The city needs to do more to make it more pedestrian friendly and expose people to the amazing shops and restaurants on the street.

This is one of the iconic place in Markham it has better variety vs Unionville but it is not as passenger friendly. Compared to Unionville where you only see gourmet restaurants. Mainstreet Markham has more variety and has banks, video games, and more fusion foods. They are complimentary of each other.

Farmer's market is smaller than before. Only 1 or 2 produce sellers now. Produces are fresh and tasty for a little higher price. Others sell bakery, honey and handmade jewelleries.

The buildings there are very classical, very flavor of local customs. So one of my favorite places to relax. To enjoy.

Great place to walk along the sidewalk and browse the many unique independent shops and services along Main St. Markham. Grab a great meal at one of the many restaurants that serve up delicious foods that make up this neighbourhood. Main St has been slowly revitalized over the last few years with good results.

Great place for walks. Lots to see during events like the farmers market, festivals and holiday decor. Many stores and restaurants. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I prefer Main Street Unionville which is more pedestrian friendly and feels more cozy I guess you could say

Just dropped into the Saturday Farmers Market and it is fabulous πŸ‘Œ for such a small market. Quality vendors, Covid protocol in effect and even a quality buskers. Well done!!! Bring cash!! Lots of cash!! You'll be happy you did.

British or European style stores in this street. Prices aren't too high for Canadian standards. Will get bored if you have to go here every day for years eventually.

My boys and I went to the annual car show on main street. Despite the gloomy weather there was a great turn out off people and cars Traffic could be been a little more aided in the area due to the chaos the main road being closed caused to the area Maybe think of a few rent a cops to direct things

The farmers market was very small and the produce was incredibly overpriced. It is much cheaper to buy from organic food markets. There was on one produce stand. I would've hoped there'd be more to choose from. I bought a lot of homemade soaps, the man who sold to me was very friendly and gave me extra for free.

The farmers market always has friendly local farmers and artisans and great music. We love bringing our family. There is music on Fridays and several events throughout the year. The volunteers that work tirelessly to put these events on should be recognized for their great work.
