Bo Tree Plant-Based Cuisine is one of best vegetarian / vegan restaurant in Markham. Never made me disappointed. I always drop by there for a lunch combo (including salad or miso soup & coffee or tea), dinner, and sometimes take out. Japanese Curry Selection is delicious, rich and creamy, and I guess it's homemade curry sauce comes with potato and 🥕 sometimes. Service is always good and staff are very friendly! Lots of variety - kids menu, vegan dessert and crepe, drinks, etc but I still missed my fav dishes here - meatless lasagna and sheppard pie. Do you feel the same? : ) A thumbs up 👍

Great tasting food at decent prices. Food is also well presented. Still as good and tasty today. Today eat was Teppanyaki beef-flavor meat (not clearly mentioned that it was beef in the English description) was good quality and taste. The service was excellent. They don't accept cash because they wish to go touchless in this Covid environment.

One of my favourite vegetarian restaurants! A collection of dishes from around the world focused mainly on western and Asian cuisine. I love the Japanese curry here, the sauce is rich, thick, and full of flavour. Try it teppanyaki style which comes with a beyond meat patty, sunny side up egg, veggies all on a hot skillet where you can choose the option for curry and fries. Using the curry as a dipping sauce for the fries is oh so satisfying. Also try the mushroom wings which are big, fried with a flaky crust and paired with some spicy Buffalo sauce and blue cheese dip. They have an awesome kids menu with a lot of value. It comes with an entree, drink, and ice cream which are all big sizes. Can't wait to come back as usual.

Fake meat galore!! As a vegetarian who likes asian food, I loved this place and a lot of their dishes! My favourite would be the omurice, but the others were also very enjoyable and deserve a try. Came here two times during my visit.

Disappointed with my first visit. I went specifically because of all the vegan options and as a mostly vegan restaurant with some vegetarian options I trusted that the staff would be able to ensure my food was vegan. After specifying multiple times while ordering that I wanted the fried rice to be made vegan without the egg (an option that is specifically on their menu), it was full of egg when I got home and opened it. I will say that the imitation coconut shrimp was delicious. I was offered a credit for the next time I go there so I will update the review if things go better the second time. For now I would advise strict vegans or those with allergies to stick to fully plant-based restaurants. I would not return if not for the credit. Edit: I went back a few days ago and was given the correct vegan fried rice. The staff was apologetic and ensured the order was right this time. The food was very good. I'm still disappointed that the first order was wrong in such a bad way for a "plant-based" restaurant but I am happy with how the issue was resolved and the quality of the food so I am changing my rating from 1 star to 3. However I am still not sure if I will return and advise vegans or those with allergies to be careful if eating here.

This is becoming my favourite vegetarian restaurant in GTA! Still making our way through their whole menu but loving everything so far. The portions are very big and make up for slightly higher prices. They also have daily specials and lunch specials that come with a side salad/soup and drink. Service is always friendly and attentive. Some must tries: Katsu curry with omurice, the katsu is so crispy and some of the best imitation meat I’ve ever had!! The okonomiyaki pizza is very flavourful and filling. Their fries are always made super crispy. The chicken nuggets are also so similar to real chicken nuggets, I was mind blown. I see a bunch of takeout orders every time I dine in here. Definitely dine in for the Katsu omurice.

Came here based on my friends' recommendation and we were really impressed. No wonder why people think it is one of the best vegan food in Toronto. All dishes Pad Thai, Dan Dan noodles, fish curry and pizza were executed so well. The fish curry and Dan Dan noodles were the highlight. The space is modern and beautiful and service is excellent

I've been here twice and I always have a hard time choosing because of their extensive menu! We had the chickenless katsu and pad Thai the first time we were there and thoroughly enjoyed it. The second time, we ordered kinoko spaghetti and the tan tan noodles which were both pretty heavy but tasted great.

Came here for lunch when we were in the area, and was pleasantly surprised how good the vegetarian cuisine here is!! Ever since we became vegetarian 3 years ago, I've been craving japanese style curry fried pork cutlet rice from time to time, and have not been able to find a vegetarian option until we came here...and they did not disappoint! The plant-based fried pork cutlet tasted almost identical to the actual ones based from what I could remember, and it was really delicious, the hot plate egg and black pepper beef rice dish was also really good, we will definitely come back again!

Would recommend and will be back! Great vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Markham with several variety to choose from and lots of fried dishes. I really enjoyed their buffalo mushroom wings, the sauce comes on the side. Usually I’ll see buffalo cauliflower wings but this was quite a pleasant surprise. The imitation salmon in the Buddha bowl was also very surprising! Cauliflower steak and Thai salad was an interesting combination. Liked that it was on a bed of cuscus. Questioning the olives in Thai salad but enjoyed the dressing nonetheless.

The green machine smoothie was Good. For some reason Sichuan chicken was stick together. Taste is okay but a little bit oily. The Spicy dan dan noodle was....hmm. Service is great. make a even 3 stars.

Overall highly recommend! They definitely know how to batter and fry. I recommend the omurice and pizzas. Pros: - Great vibes and aesthetics - Very sweet customer service and lots of ways to reach them - email, chat, phone - Reasonable prices for the quality - it's not cheap eats but it definitely feels like it was worth it - Compared to other vegetarian/vegan restaurants I've tried, it doesn't seem like the plant-based food is a novelty but more something well thought out - Many customizable options, everything can be adapted to be vegan (although there is no vegan egg so the omurice can only be changed to a salad of mixed greens) - Very good! I was pleasantly surprised because I really enjoyed the imitation meats. The imitation beef in my pho tasted more like beancurd but I didn't mind, and it was fried very well. The fried chicken in curry with the omurice was battered and fried to a thin but crispy and dense layer - I really liked that. The imitation salmon sashimi doesn't have the same tender consistency of real salmon sashimi but I actually really enjoyed it (it feels like agar or konjac). The okonomiyaki pizza was so good, the crust was tender and crispy and the rest was very savoury. - Decent portions, you will be full - The craft beer selection was small but the two we got were quite nice, and the lychee mocktail was very sweet but it was still good Cons: - Pho noodles were all broken or cut up for some reason? Not a huge con I suppose but it changes the experience when it's more like eating spoonfuls of pieces of noodles rather than slurping long strands - Small 'con' but I felt the fried sushi with imitation salmon was less sushi and more just a fried rice patty haha I suppose you can use the definition of sushi loosely though. EDIT: I wrote this review like a month ago but I forgot to hit the Post button! Since then we have gotten takeout twice and it's so good. I recommend getting the specials for two or more people. The staff are so great and passionate. One of my favourite places to eat now!

I’ve been there 3 times within 2 months. The food tasted great. I’m a vegetarian but don’t take any onions and garlics. I really appreciate they can compromise my diets with some meals. Then I can enjoy food with my family and friends. Definitely will go visit again!

A bit more expensive than average but really delicious with big portions. Katsu was crispy and fried perfectly, tasted like actual meat! Interested in exploring other items on the menu.

One of my favourite restaurants in the area, vegetarian or not! Their pizzas are a must try, bo tree has become my favourite pizza place in the city lol. So unique and yummy everytime. Pasta and noodle dishes are great too, their flavours never disappoint. (also love that they always put so many mushrooms in some of their dishes) Service is always amazing. At my most recent visit the kitchen accidentally put cheese instead of dairy free cheese on my pizza and they gave us free nachos for the extra wait! Really appreciated the gesture. Will be back again and again.

Ordered the imitation pork sandwich. Hands down the tastiest vegan sandwich I’ve had.

The environment and staff are very nice! A great big selection of good, and they're all vegetarian food too. The servers were attentive and the food came out quickly. The fried food weren't too crispy, not too oily. I would definitely come back here to try their other food too.

I was unfortunately disappointed by my experience. I first ordered takeout and was disappointed to learn my preferred item, advertised on all menus, was discontinued. The lasagna was recommended to me instead, but it was salty and an uninspired run-of-the-mill eggplant lasagna. Undeterred, I returned to dine-in. I ordered the avocado salmon fried rice, advertised as a special on the wall. The server was unaware of it. They were sold out of vegan salmon. Avocado was not detected in the dish. The free soup tasted as if it may have turned. That said, their imitation coconut shrimp is great. I suspect there are gems worth trying here, if they could get their act together.

A little confusing because not everything is actually plant based but the food was decent. Portions are nice and reasonably priced, call and ask to clarify what dishes are actually all fully plant based. Was hoping for more flavour from the "fish" in the fish and chips meal but the "chicken" katsu was amazing. Have always wanted to try it and it didn't disappoint!

Great friendly service. Got take out, the Sichuan fried “chicken” and beyond meat fried rice. The “chicken” had too much numbing seasoning and the beyond meat fried rice was not that great. The rice did not feel like it was fried with a wok and the beyond meat was a beyond burger meat cut up into pieces. There are beyond meat grounds… All in all, the food was edible, however, it was not worth the price. It’s very pricey and the portions were also very small.

We really enjoyed the food at Bo Tree. We only had one vegetarian friend in the group, but everyone didn't miss the meat. All dishes were tasty and delightful. Servers seem to be behind the counters often, so could use a bit of improvement. But would come again fro delicious vegetarian fare. I loved the Kinoko mushroom pasta.

Updated review: We came back for the second time on a Sunday evening. We did an online order and says that it will be ready at 6:40. Waited for a while and the order was late. Also they just informed me that crab imitation order is not available. Not very happy anymore :( giving them 2 stars for this bad experience. great place to eat! I'm a meat eater and the food taste like real pork so good. excellent customer service. highly recommend this place

Wonderful 1st time experience with plant based cuisine. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. Portions bigger than expected. Order 4 plates for 2 ladies ended up taking quite some home.

My cousin is vegan and not easy to find a Asian style vegan around in the community. I checked on Google and found this restaurant. The space between tables is ok as a lot of people are still concerned about Covid. The atmosphere is good for chatting as it is not noisy at all. Guests respect other privacy, too. There are a lot of choices from appetizers to dessert. Since we don't want those greasy Asian style dishes, the menu has too much choice for 2 of us to pick. We ordered forest pizza and "men's choice of rice" (sorry, I forgot what exactly it named but in Chinese, 黯然銷魂飯 --男人的浪漫) Staffs are super friendly. However, they kept filling water for us as we kept talking. Overall, very good impression for the first time be there.

First time visiting this Bo Tree Plant Based Cusine and had a great time. We didn’t know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The food and drinks tasted really good. It was great to see that the staff were really friendly and accommodating so it’s pretty much a guaranteed good time out.

Was super excited to try this place out. But was a tiny bit disappointed by a few things. First of all "Plant Based" should mean something. If this term is a part of your restaurant name, there shouldn't be any cheese or egg in your menu. Egg and cheese were in this menu. The vegan chicken fingers, say "milk powder" on them. Why? I also ordered Spicy Dan Dan noodles. I googled it first and saw a really delicious looking pasta dish, all over the internet. When mine arrived here, it was a soup. If you're going to serve it as a soup, it should be labelled as such. It was also full of mushroom, which was not listed on menu at all. So because of this, I had to order something else. And because they didn't show any interest in helping us with that Dan Dan that we no longer wanted, my wife ended up eating the noodles. They later told us they would give us free cookies for not liking that dish. I felt like they should have at least given half off on that dish, or a $6 discount. Chicken sandwich was very good. So were their fries. The rest of the items were good.

My favourite vegetarian place hands down, their burgers are amazing! All dishes are generously portioned and reasonably priced. They have both western and Asian style dishes as well as desserts, lots to choose from. The place is a bit small to be able to sit further away from other customers but they do temperature checks/proof of vaccine checks/contact info requests at the door. Will definitely visit again!

This was a great vegan/vegetarian restaurant! They accommodated to our dietary restrictions which was helpful. The chickenless burger was the best dish, followed by Pad Thai, Mozarella Sticks, Tacos, and the mushroom Buffalo wings. Great service, good quality food overall. Would def recommend & go again!
