We have been to Smash Kitchen & Bar several times before for brunch and dinner and the food has always been great in satisfying portions. The menu has changed so some photos may not show the currently available dishes, but they definitely give an idea of what to expect. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious and the atmosphere is nice. The service has been very friendly and diligent even though it can get pretty busy at times. So, it would be a good idea to get a reservation when possible.

Visited this place for brunch over the weekend and it did not disappoint. Had to order the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles from their brunch menu and it was absolutely bomb. We also ordered the Egg Florentine which was pretty good. Staffs were super friendly and service was amazing. We just walked in and got a seat at the bar for 1 hour but I would highly recommend making reservations before going in. Giving this place 4 stars just because I found the price point high compared to the portion size. But I would visit again because food was delicious 😁

Visited here for Saturday brunch. I found this place while doing a google map search. I visited without great expectations, but I had a very satisfying time. First of all, this place is spacious inside. There were lots of tables and a lot of people, but there was no wait. There were various menus. Among them, I ordered french toast, mac and cheese and the bacon mushroom omelet, and they were all delicious. In particular, the french toast is the best in both appearance and taste. My friend who went with me said that it was the first time here, but she wanted to come again next time. The staff was friendly and took care every time to make sure our meal was satisfying.

Good food at slightly high prices. Busy restaurant on weekends, reservations are a must. Menu selection is rather limited - just 2 pages. There are other restaurants in Markham that offer similar quality for better prices and/or larger portions. For that reason, I wouldn't return, but I still give them 4 stars overall.

A nice Sunday brunch experience. Food was delicious and restaurant atmosphere was pleasant. Pricing is standard for brunch items but it can add up depending on how many dishes you order. It will be about $20 minimum before tax for each course.

I came here for brunch with a friend on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy so we didn't have to wait long for a seat. I ordered the Eggs Benny. It was 3/5, good but nothing wow; just passable. Service was great but I wish the food was better. Price is comparable to other brunch places. I've been to Smash for dinner before and find the dinner menu much tastier than brunch options. Dinner would rate 4/5.

Went here for a wedding, where they rented out the restaurant. The food and servers did so well. Food was absolutely delicious! The Brisket Mac n Cheese… I’m still thinking about it. It was that good. The fried ball of brisket was so scrumptious as well. And the Smash Burger was extremely good. I loved all the food served. Would love to go back during regular dining hours to experience this restaurant as a whole.

Food is INCREDIBLE! It came super hot and fresh, and the Smash burger is so die for. Staff is so friendly, service was extremely quick. Every experience I’ve had here has been great. Love love love this place.

Came to Smash Kitchen and Bar for Sunday brunch and it was definitely vibing. Big portions if you order the French toasts variants. Had the Smash Burger with French fries, it was pretty tasty and done right. The surprise was the Cheesy French Toast Double Down. You get 2 slices of thick French toast with multiple slices of bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage patties and sunny side up egg sandwiched in between. There is also maple syrup drizzled on the side. Sweet and savoury option. Service was attentive and welcoming. There is a back patio that overlooks the Rouge River. Inside seating could be a bit noisy even though it has high ceilings.

I loved my experience at Smash Kitchen! We came in a little late for our reservation, but they were very accommodating, and we sat in the patio that was so beautiful. Not only was the food amazing - I got the fish and chips with mac and my partner got the jerk chicken- but the service was one of the best I’ve received in a while. Karla treated us so well that we cannot wait to go back and have her serve us! Overall, this place is amazing, management as well. 100% recommend

I've been here before and have to say the quality is consistent and the service was fantastic. Very attentive, friendly, and helpful. We had the Mac and cheese, and it went over like gangbusters. The vegetarian burger on the gluten-free bun was so good that we wondered if it was really vegetarian! The fried chicken was good; just sorry it was not straight pieces of chicken (deboned), and the breading did make the meat a bit dry. There was a tasty gravy that helped add more to it. Not the best fried chicken I've had, but the other dishes were great. And service was so good I didn't mind.

The food was amazing. And our male servers service was on point. Don’t like the sauce on the burger. Which I just tasted the burger more but still was amazing. Same with the ribs. The sauce for them was honestly the best I’ve ever eaten. Definitely recommend, and would definitely come back. I have to try more items on the menu.

Food has always been good albeit a bit pricey, but if you’re looking for a little more upscale place for food with great service this is the place. They’ve brought back their daily special and that particular Monday was the max and cheese if you ordered a beverage. We also ordered the smash burger which is always delicious and their fried chicken. Happy they let us substitute the Mac and cheese on the chicken dish with a salad. Overall it was a nice time, no complaints about the food and the servers were very attentive.

Some of the prices are a bit steep but would highly recommend the ribs! Large portion of ribs, and will need help from another person to finish it all. The plate is tasty with salad, creamy Mac & cheese, and the sweet ribs.

This place has changed quite a bit since covid.. Not sure what happened.. They replaced the seafood Mac and cheese with just Mac and cheese but still charge almost the same amount.. Special or the day are not in stock and my sons kids burger came overcooked because the beef Patty was so thin.. Otherwise the service from our server was excellent that day

We went for their first Mother’s Day Brunch since COVID and my whole table really enjoyed the food. A bit pricey but nice for a special breakfast. We had their garden salad, bbq brisket hash and the mamas brunch platter (croissants & homemade marmalade not pictured). Highlight was the smoked salmon. The patio wasn’t open yet but looked cute and hopefully we can dine there next time. Andrew our server was amazing and brought this review to 5 stars. Would definitely come again!

Went for a business lunch meeting. I was the second of 3 to arrive and did not have to go through covid screening protocols. The restaurant was not busy and all staff were wearing masks appropriately. Prompt, friendly and efficient service. We had the cornbread, calamari and fish tacos for our apps and was pleasantly surprised at the generous servings and excellent flavors! It was enough for a meal but since we placed our main order along with the apps I rose to the challenge for the ribs and LA Mac and cheese. Again the serving was generous and absolutely delicious. Great experience!

Happy to have tried this place. It is located in the inner corner of the L shaped plaza. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and the restaurant was not too busy. We did the usual check-in procedure and proceeded to their mini outdoor patio. Indoor dining was pretty quiet at the time and it’s very spacious. There’s hand sanitizer stations throughout and the staff members wear masks. I ordered the Mushroom Mac and Cheese and it was so rich in flavour. I went in hungry but couldn’t finish my meal. Can’t wait to revisit and try other menu items.

My husband and I had our postponed-wedding reception here after walking away from a large deposit from an unreliable and horrible banquet hall. Like many many couples, the pandemic was able to ruin every single plan. We just wanted a place for an intimate celebration with our friends and family. Going with Smash was the best decision ever. The owner and operator, Jason, was so attentive from the beginning to end. He responds to emails promptly. He is 100% trustworthy, reliable, and accommodating, with constant excitement and enthusiasm for our event. The food was nothing short of amazing! All our guests loved the food, service, ambience- just EVERYTHING. Whatever we needed, the staff was there to offer it. Words cannot express how much we appreciate Jason and his team. Support them!!

This was my 1st experience at Smash Kitchen and Bar and it was a good one. Celebrating the Grand Opening of my daughter's Chick-fil-A franchise in the Scarborough Town center, her and my son-in-law took me and my youngest daughter here for dinner, before we head back to Virginia in the morning. Our server Lucas was great and the food was really good, although the jerk chicken was a little too spicy for me. The atmosphere was great and our service was top notch! Will definitely visit again when I come back to Canada to see my daughter 😋👍🏾😊

Went for a dinner date with my hubby over the weekend and it was a good experience. We really liked the spot, the ambiance. Our server was quite friendly and attentive. Generous portion of food, I ordered the burrito bowl with a fried chicken add on. The portion size was quite large and the fried chicken was cooked really well. My husband ordered a burger and he really enjoyed it. The truffle fries were also delish! I enjoyed my burrito bowl but it wasn't exceptional and pretty standard. That said I will go back to try our their other items.

We went for dinner on a Monday night. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it for the happy hour menu. We ordered the smash burger with truffle fries. The fries turned out to be dry, but the server was very kind and quickly got us a fresh batch. We also got the seafood linguine. It was creamy and delicious. The portions for both our dishes were plenty. We took a table outside on the patio, and the atmosphere was cozy. The staff were friendly and attentive.

I ordered smoked salmon Benedict, the only thing I did not expect was the muffin was replaced with toast, I might be something they wanna do differently but I still prefer the traditional way, English muffin is still the best with poached egg. Hollandaise sauce was good, just the puree had curry flavour which I didn’t enjoy. French toast was good too. Service was great!

Grabbed the buttermilk pancake with fried chicken and cappuccino for brunch. The restaurant is in an old plaza but the inside is decorated very nicely. However, the food did not have the quality I expected. The coffee was quite bland with not much flavour. I think it is subpar compared to most other coffees in the area. The pancakes were okay, but did not have a good fluffy texture. The chicken's fried exterior was good but the inside was not juicy and felt dry. There was a huge slab of butter that was dripping in the middle of the chicken. The food overall felt much too oily and did not leave a good aftertaste. I'm a bit disappointed because of all the good reviews but I would not come here again.

pleasant dining experience !! all the food tasted pretty good. the only thing that stops this from being a 5-star is the price; it's definitely a pricey restaurant and (in my opinion) the food quality/portion size does not necessarily warrant that price. that being said, it's still for sure worth trying out !!

A really great and filling brunch place! The brisket hash and chicken & waffles are both very popular and rightfully so. The sauce was so addicting but that makes the brunch more filling that I was expecting so be prepared to take leftovers home ❤️

Nice place to grab brunch with a group of friends as they can accommodate larger groups. I had the Smash Benedict and the BBQ flavour dominated the whole dish. But it was still enjoyable, especially the mac and cheese croquette. Just wish they used English muffin instead of bread. Although the benedict doesn’t come with a side, portions are large enough that you won’t miss it.

I have been to to smash on a handful of occasions and always leave with a pleasant experience. The food is a bit pricey and the menu has been reduced most likely due to Covid however, smash is still a go to amongst my friends.The staff are always genuine and the food is filling. Most mains are elevated comfort food that definitely taste worthwhile. I would love if they had an option of a seafood or steak Mac n cheese instead of the LA and mushroom.

Had a great time eating here with my mom tonight as an early celebration of my birthday this year. We ordered the full rack of pork back ribs with mac and cheese, fish and chips with sweet potato fries, and fried calamari. The food was simply delicious. Pork back ribs meat was tender and just fall off the bone, the sweet potato fries was very good and the fried fish was very crispy. This is my second time here as the first time was quite some years back. Would definitely come here again in the near future!

I first want to mention that the service was exceptional. As another reviewer commented, it seems they were all new hires but they always came by to check our waters and make sure we were alright, even when our booth was at the back of the restaurant. Our server was also super sweet and friendly. Plus, the restaurant uses cloth napkins which helps reduce waste. In terms of food, everything was delicious and filling. The truffle fries were so good, and the fish in the fish and chips was moist and soft. My only objection was that the chips were bland and a bit dry, but it's good to cut out unnecessary salt anyway. We were able to make a reservation for two on the same day, but the earliest time was 8:15pm. You can easily reserve on their website.

Went here for brunch and ordered Eggs Florentine, a cappuccino and a mimosa. We asked if the poached eggs could be cooked a bit longer and they made it how we asked. The food was decent. The cappuccino and mimosa were delicious.

The service was exceptional - the servers and host were Uber friendly and hospitable. We felt catered to. Never once did we feel rushed, even though we stayed long after we had got done eating to chat and catch up. The food was delectable. The smash burger was definitely a hit; I’d eat it again. The doughnuts for dessert were also a delight (with a gooseberry on top). The cornbread, however, was a bit of a miss for me. It wasn’t bad tasting, it just didn’t tickle my fancy. I’ll definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our lunch today at Smash. We were in the area for our kids team Ontario tryouts and we are so glad we found this restaurant. Our waitress Alicia was absolutely amazing from the moment we sat down. You can tell she truly takes pride in what she does and we made an instant connection with her. She recommended the Smash Benedict and it was hands down the best eggs benny I have ever had. My hubby and son had the smash burgers and they were juicy and very flavorful. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area and we hope Alicia is working so we can have her be our server again!

Been coming here to eat and ordering from them online for years. Food is always delicious, especially their Miso Salmon. Service is great and the staff are friendly.

My husband and I stopped in for a late dinner. We arrived after 9 pm, and we knew they closed at 10 pm. We were surprised they did not rush us at all. They provided just the best service from the moment we entered into moments before we left. Everyone was so warm and courteous. The food was just delicious. We had calamari to start, a couple different burgers, and the banana chocolate toffee pudding. We just had the best time. Highly recommend.

We have been this Markham location few times. Convenient location. Small plaza with many parkings. Made the reservation online one day in advance. Not many customers on Thursday evening. Very nice ambiance and vibes. Spacious and clean. Really liked their patio set up, too bad their biggest table would not fit our party of 7. They have portable heaters. Great customer service. Staff was attentive and very friendly. Food served warm but a bit slow and their portion was decent. Price was ok. We tried the Southern platter which came with Buttermilk fried chicken, BBQ pork back ribs, BBQ beef croquettes, L.A. mac & cheese, chicken gravy, creamy coleslaw, pickled cucumbers. Their BBQ pork back ribs and the buttermilk fried chicken were perfectly seasoned and very delicious. Kids loved their fish and chips and mussels. We ordered 2 orders of each and they finished them all. Their mac and cheese was so creamy & cheesy. The garden salad was amazingly fresh and yummy. We loved the dressing very much. They offer daily promotion with half price bottles on wine on every Thursday. Overall experience was great. Will definitely come back.

This was our first time back since the "old days". Although the menu has changed somewhat, the food is still very tasty. The service was slightly slow, but that's probably just a symptom of the servers finding their sea-legs again after lockdown. The atmosphere is still warm and inviting with a casual vibe. We have missed this place and we will definitely be back!

One of the best places to grab a bite in Markham! We ordered the Southern Platter and it was perfect for sharing between two people. It was a great way to sample a little bit of different items on the menu, and we were so happy with the selection and amount of food for each part of it. It was all delicious! We topped it off with Cathy's Warm Banana Chocolate Toffee Cake, which is a MUST HAVE if you come here. The berry/mint/lime mojitos were tasty and refreshing as well. We will be back plenty more times!

Amazing food, great service and comfortable vibe. Large portions make it very worthwhile. Calamari is one of the best I've had, crispy and not too salty. Chicken sandwich was big juicy and fried chicken was also delicious.

Company lunch after about 2 years. Good restaurant and good food. I love the burger there also lamb shank looks very good. The environment is very good to seat and chat while have good food. Not noisy.

Came here for a friend's birthday. While the server was kind, it took a very long time for all our meals to come out. Additionally, I didn't find any of the food that good, just alright. I ordered the burrito bowl with buttermilk fried chicken as an add-on. The chicken was delicious, but the burrito bowl was nothing special and lacked flavour. As a group we shared a charcuterie board, but I'd advise against ordering this. For $30+, the items were so spread out we probably got 10 pieces of meat and 6 pieces of cheese with some crackers and dips. Definitely not worth the money. Some items that other people at the table ordered looked good, such as the fish and chips (huge portion) and burger/sandwiches. Maybe I would come again and try one of those instead, but be warned the prices are fairly high here for what you're getting.
