Got the dinner for two. Dishes were really good but I would say it was slightly better prior to covid days. Fried chicken had an amazing crisp to it and truffle fried rice had the wok flavours. The eggplant was a tad too salty. Lighter seasoning overall on all the dishes would be perfect. Great, cozy atmosphere for anyone who wants to come by and have a nice, quiet meal and good convos.

Found a new spot that has become one of my favourites in Markham! My boyfriend and I had the set menu for two ($65), which is a tapas style menu. We left with our bellies happy and full! We ordered the chilled noodles, marinated eggplant, crab toast, market fish (cod in yuzu), and the duck chow mein. So much flavour in each dish. We were not disappointed at all! I also ordered the Marge and Rita which was refreshing and tasty - a great option for a nice summer day. Our favourites ended up being the eggplant and chilled noodles. Needless to say, we will certainly be back for more!

We REALLY liked the appetizers like chilled noodle and eggplants hands down. So damn good. I can have these every day. Paella had such a strong conch flavour overpowering everything which I thought could've easily been swapped by shrimp? I'm just assuming they were testing out more innovative combos but really didn't work for me. Fried chicken tasted great but I think it was a wrong call by me, assuming their other dishes might have been more innovative and has flavour combinations that I've never tasted. The homemade kimchi was a nice touch and tasted great but I think I still prefer pairing fried chicken with sour and crispy veggies(pickled radish, coleslaw etc) to balance out the heaviness. Mackerel was thoroughly de-boned which I know takes work, and the sauce was nice too but mackerel is mackerel. Its own flavour is always so strong and you can't really experience something new because of that. So if you love mackerel no matter what, it's definitely for you. My friend recommended the truffle fried rice and yeah, this hits a good spot. I definitely enjoyed this one the most in the mains. Drinks were alright. I honestly don't remember much about them, didn't leave strong impressions but they were not bad either.

Unique and interesting food in a vibrant downtown ambience. The pork belly here is very special and so is the beef brisket. Super tender and delicious. The crab chawanmushi was a bit too different and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone unfamiliar with the dish.

Came here last night to try their set menu for 2 and it was amazing! What an experience for our mouths. We picked the eggplant, cold noodles, beef tartar, caviar risotto, and fried chicken and it was all amazing! 🤩 We particularly thought the eggplant 🍆 and beef tartar was very unique and a must try 🍽️. Following those, the fried chicken 🍗 and cold noodles also we're amazing - the chicken was so moist and crispy, and the kick & flavor of the noddles was 🔥. Lastly, the caviar risotto though very creamy and yummy 😋, was missing some sort of wow factor. Don't get me wrong though, it was still amazing! We ended off with dessert which was not part of the set menu and was made during one of their iron chef challenges. I forgot exactly what it was called but it was essentially an ube-centered rice ball deep fried in a crusty coconut layer, surrounded but fruity drops on the plate. It was super unique from most desserts we tried and yummy as well! Shout out to the server who was also super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient 👏🏽 Overall, for the price point ($65 for set menu for 2 & $12 for dessert, before tax+tip) and the quality of food and service, this place is a must try! You won't be disappointed. Excited to come back to try a new set menu, and maybe even their iron chef challenge on a special occasion!

Nothing but good things to say about this place! Had a delicious meal, fantastic service (I regret not catching his name), and the vibe was on point. Definitely would recommend the carp caviar risotto and the soft shell crab curry, however the star was the Chinese buns. The filling (brisket and pulled pork) were great, but the baos were the best part, so soft and fluffy! Absolutely coming back!

We came here for dinner and had the set menu for 2. The edamame spring rolls, chilled noodle salad, spicy cabbage and cherry belly rice were our favorites. I also had a drink that they were testing out which was a spin on lemon meringue pie which was delicious! The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I would recommend making reservations as inside seating is limited. We will definitely be back again!

I wanted to treat my friends to a unique dinner as a gift, and enlisted the help of Azyun to create a custom iron chef menu for us. My friend wanted uni as the main ingredient and Azyun thoughtfully came up with a six course menu. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for something out of the box and more personal than your usual fine dining, as a custom iron chef menu experience is not available anywhere else as far as I’m aware of. Prices are reasonable, depending on your ingredient.

Amazing find! Hidden gem at Main Street Markham, we loved all their food items. Exceptional and friendly service. We had their appetizer sampler which consisted of chilled noodles (amazing), Brussel sprouts (amazing), shaved eggplant (exceptional) and the smoked edamame (very good), we were floored just by that. We also had their seafood dumpling which was very good but their recommended truffle fried rice made our meal perfect! All in all, will definitely go there again, great job! Lots of street and alley parkings available near the restaurant.

This is a hidden gem goldmine of a restaurant. Have you ever wanted to eat fancy food but be in a chill place? This is the place to go. The service is beyond kind and friendly. The food is beyond delicious and reasonably priced. And they do themed tasting menus! I did an Iron Chef menu for my birthday which was mind blowing. A great reason to go to Markham!

Azyun specializes in modern fusion Asian cuisine. I did enjoy their BBQ themed menu, but felt the food portions were small for the price. Flavour profiles were balanced and well seasoned. Unfortunately, our night was ruined by the terrible service. The waiter could not remember who ordered what drinks when addressing our table and forgot our fried chicken. I heard chefs rotate and do waiting shifts. Not a bad idea to prevent complacency, but this guy should be kept away from any sort of customer interaction. He killed it and not in a good way.

I think people that haven’t tried Azyun before doesn’t realize that 1) they serve some dishes in slightly smaller portions 2) it’s best you go with a group of people to really enjoy the variety of the food on the menu eg: 6 people 3) yes, it costs a bit but it’s well thought out fusion food 4) so be prepared for the fabulous umami from the food. Also wanted to note, Our server was very accommodating and was right on with suggesting the food we ordered would be enough. Have we ordered that extra dish, it would’ve been in a take out box. We’ve tried Azyun in the first year they opened for business and I can tell they’ve really enhanced their menu. My whole family was super impressed with the food and everyone went home with a very full belly. Keep up the amazing work! PS: my favourite was the truffle rice and the crunchy ramen.

A gem on Main Street Markham! So we ended up trying Azyun quite by chance. I had made reservations at another restaurant for Father's Day but they changed their menu to a buffet and I decided to try something else instead. So took my family to Azyun Restaurant on main street Markham based on the reviews I read and due to the close proximity to our home. We opted for dinner for 4 so that we could try out a few items from the menu. We tried the Saki for our drink, then a mixed appetiser platter (the eggplant was ridiculously yum), and for our courses choose beef tartare, duck chowmein, crab toast, beef shank, steak and paella. Everything we were served was absolutely DELISH with the exception of the paella. There was plenty food for the 4 of us and we left the place Happy! Its a small place with limited seating but the ambience is cool with a good vibe and an open kitchen. We give it our thumbs up and recommend it to anyone who wants to try out something different.

Great restaurant - delicious food - and service was impeccable. Located in Markham, this is a very low key, quiet restaurant on Sunday’s. The benefit is there’s no crowd and you can enjoy your meal in a more intimate setting. Pictured are the chilled noodles, torched edamame, pork belly fried rice, and the beef tenderloin. Everything was done to perfection and I honestly can’t find anything bad about this joint.

One of the best restaurants of Markham. Don't think I've ever had a mediocre dish here. There's always something new and exciting. The team here is friendly and attentive. Order a vday set dinner + pho inspired beef tartare and the soft shell laksa curry. Most memorable dishes the uni and lobster risotto (hope this becomes a regular) and the curry

Great ambiance , food, and service. It's a small restaurant so make sure to reseve a table. Portions are big, it's better to share the food. We liked the mocktails too, fun to drink with the meals. I will definitely go again. The only downside was that we sat at the table facing the door, it was a bit cold even with a small heater at the door.

If you are into Asian Fushion type of food, this is the place to go. A small joint in Markham Main Street. We had a party so reservation was made a couple of days ahead of time but I would recommend you call and make advance reservation since the place only have less than 10 small tables indoor. As for the food, we have Seafood Risotto, Pork Belly Buns, Fried Chicken, Beef Tartare, truffle Fried Rice, Braised beef Brisket, Lobster and Seafood dumplings, Shrimp Toast and mix plate of appetizers. All prepared well and taste to our palates. The single waiter served us well and very attentive to our need.

Grear place! Service and the atmosphere were great, and the food was mostly great. The cold noodles were great. The eggplant (which came out second) was a little too sweet, which kind of messed up our pallets for the brisket, which had very mild flavors. Spring rolls were the highlight for me, and the bbq pork fried rice was good. I will definitely come again and try the buns next time.

The Taro chips were very addicting! We ended up getting two bowls!! I've never had chilled noodles. I thought they were interesting and tasted pretty good (I did add some extra chili oil because I love spicy food🌶) The slow braised brisket dish was well done. The only thing I found was that it had just a little bit too much mint for me, but overall, the meat was super tender. Lastly, the fried chicken! It was delicious! The skin was super crispy. The house hot sauce that came with it was super flavourful.

In town from AB staying in airbnb. Ordered off Uber Eats as reviews on Google were good. It's pricey but totally worth every bite. The quality and taste of the food is excellent! Incredibly impressed. I got the brussel sprouts, truffle fried rice, and veg dumpling. 😋 Only critic is they never provided paper reciept or utensils, but I also never requested it so I gave 5 stars.

This may be a one-off miss by Azyun, but on our visit, they were unable to manage a table of 9; it took about an hour after ordering for our final meal to arrive. We'd made a reservation, so we weren't unexpected guests, and to my eye the restaurant wasn't otherwise busy. We asked to be seated on the patio, but it's not very nice -- not shaded and a touch too reclaimed by nature. Food, fortunately, was good as advertised.

*my partner and I am friends with the owner* I've enjoyed every meal I've had at Azyun and appreciate the creative craft Justin and the other chefs put into their dishes. You can tell this team is really worldly in their food experience and full of passion for what they do!

We ordered the cold noodles, truffle fried rice, and fried chicken and matcha waffles (I was feeling adventurous). Overall the food was so delicious: the truffle fried rice was so fragrant and umami (or as my friend put it, an “umami bomb”); the cold noodles were okay; and the chicken was SO JUICY AND HOT. My only complaint is with the blueberry syrup, which had the frozen blueberries taste. I would definitely come again to try their other dishes 🤠

Very tasty. Overall small/cozy environment. Ordered set menu for 2 and really enjoyed the cherry pork belly rice and beef tartare. Mango delight drink was surprisingly frothy and creamy. There's also a VIP promo on Facebook/Messenger (as of August 2022) for deals

I visited here thanks to my friend. It's one of the best dinner nights I had in like years. Their foods were all very different in a exceptionally good way. We ordered from cheesy spring rolls to the best pallea I ever had in my life. It was full of Uni if you know what I mean. This is somewhere I would bring my family when they come visit me in Canada. Ask Ricky if you need a suggestion on any drinks or even foods. He'll help you out :)

Azyun is one of my favourite places to have dinner! They have an unique menu and none of the items disappoint. I love how everything fits together perfectly in the truffle fried rice and the attention to detail in their cocktails. We got a chance to talk to the chefs/owner once and they were very passionate and in depth while explaining their menu.

Disappointed with this place. From the menu/appearance of resto, I expected high quality food. Food was subpar and way overpriced. Brussels sprouts were done well but a ridiculous price for maybe 6 pieces at most. The group I was with all agreed that their individual meals were subpar but expensive. My Bao was short of good. No flavour and buns were so cheap. I ordered 2 different kinds. Then the waiter tried to convince me to get a different kind from what I ordered, but I said no. He continued to put in the order for the kind I didn't ask for. Then delivered it to my table and I was shocked. I told him this is not what I ordered but he told me to try it and see if I liked it. I didn't. Not sure why I couldn't even get my order fulfilled. He seemed salty and upset for the rest of the night. Horrible customer service.

Overall Rating 4.5 - Iron Chef Experience the theme we chose was ‘Surf and Turf’ (steak and lobster) however, they do ask on their site to choose a more ‘diverse’ or ‘humble’ ingredient, we did not. Missed to take a photo of the dessert, by the 5th dish I was very full. Portions were great for the five courses, the food quality was fantastic, although I rated the food a 4 it was simply because the build up to the main dishes 3rd and 4th it was heavy and started to take one tone by the last one (pallet was done by all the flavours) I would have liked a nice build or diversity from the stock/ base. As mentioned, don’t take it the wrong way - if I were to try each dish on its own it’d be a 4.5. Soup - Lobster Bisque, by far an incredible dish. The taste and texture of all the ingredients, airy rendered pork fat, took this to another level. Everything complimented really well. Heavy dish, very comforting. Small portion goes a long way. Salad - Simplicity at its best. They used fresh ingredients and prepared them very well, whatever dressing they used with the, what I think are pickled cherry tomatoes… apples and chorizo was great. Lobster and Clams - The lobster lightly battered (like a piece of fried chicken) was very tasty, clams were great. I think by this point I was over the chorizo, and the rice was whatever rice - as someone who eats white rice everyday, that’s what I mean. Steak and Shrimp - This was a good dish, loved the sauce and everything that was on the plate. At this point during the meal I was very full, however I did finish this dish… and every dish I had (minus the rice), including the dessert. Service: Fantastic | Atmosphere: I liked that it was “chill” and served high quality food | Drinks: Perfect I would definitely go back again and try their regular menu.
