I really don’t have anything good to say about this place. The only salvageable part of our meal was it’s a nice environment? Otherwise, that’s it. We came here as a group of 10 people for Sunday brunch. Food quality was pretty lackluster. We wanted to try the chicken and waffles but they ran out of fried chicken? Which I guess is understandable at 11am. Switched to an Eggs Benedict, Symposium Burger and a kids cheese pizza. Burger was pretty sad, I understand stuff never looks like the menu, but the burger patties were tiny. Eggs Benedict didn’t look appetizing. Cheese pizza was flat bread with sauce and cheese. Our server was an Asian gentlemen and was not very helpful, seemed to be content doing the bare minimum. Unfortunately was stuck paying mandatory 18% gratuity for a pretty below average meal. Please improve your food quality at the very least. Unfortunately I’ll never know because I’m never coming back.

Went for lunch at this time it's take out due to the lockdown due to the COVID-19 restrictions spinach and mushroom pasta Was juicy very well-made I had the western omelet with cheese cheese I didn't have enough cheese in it unfortunately but that's the only critiques I have

google doesn’t let me to put my second 5 star review so as I promised myself I visited again and highly recommend it AGAIN, Way to go!

This was one of my restaurants that I've seen reviews from other Google map reviewers with mixed reviews so I wanted to try for myself. This was a pre- birthday meal with family so I was hoping for great things coming here. I have mixed reviews, even though the pics that are posted by others and also from me made the food look more wanting to try than it really was to taste . We ordered for my grand daughter the mac and cheese for kids and for us we had the chicken waffle, 2x Symposium burgers (1 with onion rings and the other with poutine) and the Cuban (pulled pork, back bacon, fried egg, Swiss cheese in a ciabatta bun). I only have a few positive things to say, Symposium burgers , even tho it was a bit on the small side, it was quite good burger. My grand daughter enjoyed the mac and cheese. That is all for the positive points. Now the bad... Chicken waffle - chicken was too dry to eat. The Cuban - pulled pork and back bacon too dry. My onion rings with my Symposium burger... It was so greasy it was almost non edible.. I think the deep fryer oil needs to be changed. Would I come back? Not really, I can't really say if I try it again it would improve because of so many problems or it just how the kitchen prepares the food...

Came here for brunch on a Sunday and sat out in the patio. patio has umbrellas which provided shade which is nice considering some patios don't provide that. The service was good and staff were nice and polite. Nothing exceptional, but also nothing bad. Food was good and tasted fine, nothing special about it though. Good place if you're looking for a casual place to grab food and sit at a patio.

Even this is a chain restaurant but it does have some local feel when you are inside the restaurant. Came here on Friday night and only 3 tables including us. The restaurant is not busy but the 2 servers seems very busy for something. Our server dropped off the menu and did not come back for over 15 minutes. We have to look for her to place our order I only recommend the butter chicken poutine here. Everything else is very subjective in my opinion. Plenty of parking here anytime of the day. Services is ok as our server is very friendly if you find her.

Great spot for desert or food. Ordered the chicken fingers and fries that were really good! The chicken was tender and not all batter like most places. Not usually something I order but decided to try it here. The service was great.

Possibly the worst Brunch spot in GTA. Never ever go here if you really want to eat food in the right mind. Ordered 2 staples, chicken and waffles along with parmesan chicken sandwich. The chicken was dry to the core, sandwich was all soggy due to the extra sauce in there. The waffles seemed dead from inside out and breaded chicken breast not hot nor was it close enough to bring juicy. Worst experience. The tables weren't cleaned for over an hour after the service.

We're there at 9:45am. Got a table at their patio immediately. However, chairs were wet. Ie nobody wiped them when they opened in the morning. When we were ready to order, we couldn't find our server. When she came out, it was 2 minutes after 10am and she refused to let us order early bird items. Another reviewer was right, their bacon was paper thin. Like supermarket ready to eat bacon. Eggs were cooked poorly. Coffee cups were dirty. The only thing good is their patio.

We chose Symposium Cafe because it was recommended by a friend who recently had a ladies night out there. It was a very place to actually have a decent conversation. The food was really good. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

😍😍 I Really enjoyed my time here tonight. Not only was the food I ordered amazing 👌, but the cozy environment and friendly staff really just put the cherry on top to my evening. Manager checked up on us during our meal to check in and introduce himself to see if everything was going swell. Our server Ana was so cute, she helped recommending some of her favourite dishes on the menu, and I’m super glad she did because my Pad Thai was so good! Probably my favourite place now to go. I would recommend my friends and family for sure to come try out this place! 5 stars all the way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I came around 8 am. Great time for sunday breakfast since its not busy and you can get seated right away. Just discovered this Caramel Banana French Toast with a choice of meat (i picked bacon). OMG i dont know why I've never tried this before. Its so tasty, fresh, not too sweet. The caramel syrup goes so well with the toast. Banana definitely adds the special flavour. Portion is huge. I had to share with my husband. Also got iced Mocha Latte. Yummy

Nice place and friendly staff. Prices are comparable. It was quiet when we went. Service was quick and food was great.

Had the southwest fried chicken Benedict and a cafe latte. Both were very good. Chicken was tender and the coffee was hot and creamy. The service was excellent! Our server and the manager were both very attentive and pleasant. Would come again

Nothing short of amazing. Though the dessert was a little expensive, it was worth every dollar. Service was friendly and great as well plus the venue itself had a unique atmosphere to it, while also being spacious and accomodating.

Visited their safe and clean outdoor dinning. Ordered a fish and chip. 3 pcs and slightly over cooked. Priced at $18 it is comparatively higher than other places serving F&C. Staff are helpful and professional.

Friendly staff and there were lots of seating. The main courses were alright and the dessert was awesome but I found everything to be a bit overpriced.

First off, I am giving 2 stars only for the quality of food. We ordered the calamari and fish tacos. The calamari was fine l, but the fish tacos were absolutely horrible. The lettuce and veggies in the taco tasted off, and the fish was not well cooked at all. If I could give additional stars, I would give 5 stars for our service. Our server Liliana was outstanding as well as the manager on duty and I am sorry I did not get his name. He came to our table to apologize about the tacos and was very friendly in making things right. I would like to thank them both for their attention to the matter and fixing it promptly. Thank you.

Was very disappointed of the taste. Been to this location before and didn't taste this bad. Calamari was okay, Steak Stir-fry Bowl tasted bad, but at least the Hummingbird Cake tasted good. The drinks were completely horrible, my friend ordered a ceasar and I ordered a blueberries / strawberries smoothie. They both tasted horrible which was shocking because I remember from my last visit this place was good.

The only reason I'm giving this a 1 star is because our server was friendly and helpful (and Google doesn't believe in 0 stars). If you like your "medium rare" steak, coming out flavourless and well done, then this is the restaurant for you! For a low price of $20, the Steak and Eggs will get you a plate of McCain Homefries, 3 tiny eggs, a few sad looking pitas, and cut up steak that looked like cardboard. We told our server about this and they offered to remake the steak with some "special sauce"...which literally just tasted like they made the same steak and stuck A1 sauce on it. My wife got the Eggs Benjamin and the only saving grace was the smoked salmon, but that's a gimme. The English muffin was cold, the red onions were just laid out like a string, but at least the poached eggs looked OK. Patio was nice, servers are good, food was awful.

My mom and I went for brunch, the food was good. We had to wait to be seated. So if you know you're headed there for breakfast or brunch try to book a reservation. It was busy at 11am. My only comment is that the furniture is outdated and not in the best of shape. Also I'd like to point out that if you have a costco membership you can get 2 $50 gift card for $80. So it's a good bang for your buck that way.

Great place to go with the family. It's our second time there and the staff is always extremely professional and pleasant. Their food menu is huge with lots of options for everyone. It's hard to see a place with this many food choices. Can't say enough. Highly recommended.

Symposium has a great atmosphere with tasteful decor and lots of natural light. We came for breakfast. The portions were good and the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and welcoming. Gary, the general manager, checked in with us and made sure we were taken care of. Overall it was a very pleasant experience!

Superb experience at Symposium Markham location! I was hosting a post wedding breakfast / brunch for closest family and friends, approx 25 people. A few weeks earlier, I walked into Symposium and met Ian at the front who took my reservation. The weeks that followed I had to modify our plan a few times and Ian was patient and accommodating throughout the entire process. Then came the day, we arrived and everything was perfect. Our guests were pleased with the cleanliness, decor and service offered by the staff. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we had a great time. I had totally forgotten to have the restaurant make a note to have champagne on ice ready for us, but Ian had already done that anyways! Really pleased with it all. Would definitely book with them again. Cheers!

Amazing experience, first meal in 2024!!! It’s not our first time there and loved it in the past and they still keep up the awesomeness, really want to share today's experience. All staff was super friendly with lots of smile, what not to love to be greeted with smiles first the new year. Our server Kasun was super attentive, nice and friendly, took care of our requests. Not to mention the food was absolutely delicious, sharing some pictures to show. If you are wondering about the prices, it’s very reasonable. What makes this Symposium great is the manager, Suther goes around and speaks with all the guests to get feedback or need anything. I would highly recommend. Great way to start our year, both my husband and I really enjoyed the meal.

Honestly my experience was okay. Wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. It was more like an in between. I ordered the calamari with fries. Apparently there's some issue with the menu where it's showing the calamari is coming with fries on the menu. However, when it the server rings it up, it's trying to get you to charge the fries as a side. So that was a bit of an issue. And the food was okay. It was a clean restaurant. Had no other issues. The margaritas, however, were very good. Was my favorite part

This is the first time we went to Symposium Markham restaurant. It was great to see that this one has the same high ceilings with art paintings on the walls, the decos we love, same as another one we visited in Keswick before. The space was good and the air was fresh. I always enjoy taking photos in such great surroundings. We went on a Thursday for an early dinner, for their weekly special. Our server was their General Manager Gary, who was most accommodating and assisted us with our preferred choice of entries. The appetizer came with 2 brevages and a desert for $20. We were so full but more than that, we had a good time. Thank you Gary!

Good ambiance, the service was a but slow although not crowded, the waffles were nice, the French toasts too, the Mediterranean omelet was good too. The cappuccino however did not taste that well.

Symposium Markham is a good brunch destination with your lady tribe! Great service, good food, we weren’t rushed to leave. Thank you to manager Gary and staff. We will be back.

Eh... Plates aren't tasting good!! Never had a sour taste onion soup before... Hard to describe my feelings. Waffles are hard, not crispy, HARD!! Sad experience... Two stars rating for great great service! NOT Kitchen at all!!

Food was so good, the service was really good atmosphere was very nice as well. Kids meal was okay wish they had some grilled chicken instead of nuggets. We had a great time! Definitely coming back to this location!

Food is delicious. Had a custom omelet and a cappuccino. Service is amazing. Our server Bobby was very friendly. We liked the food so much we came again the next day.

Good choice for brunch, wifi speed is excellent, used to include coffee in breakfast menu, not anymore I'm not happy the coffee cup has lipstick on it in the midst of pandemic.

Lovely service! We dined in today during breakfast hours, and were greeted and seated by a kind young man. He was patient with us when ordering. The manager was also very nice and both checked in on us to see if we needed more water or further accommodations. The calamari, avocado toast, and eggs benedict were delicious and came out quickly. Fruit in the fruit bowls were very fresh. Wonderful experience overall ☺️

Went to this location on Sunday night as it was close to my in-laws place and the kids love going there. the manager was great, but our server was horrible. made many mistakes. The food took more than half an hour to come and when it came they missed my order and said I never ordered. The only thing is that the manager was on top of things and put in my order right away for my Cesar salad. When it came, it looked so sad, only a few crumbs of bacon was in it and the sauce was not good. Also, we specifically asked to make sure if the Persian burrito was spicy and the waitress replied don't worry its not spicy so I ordered it. Saw my daughter picking on it and then my mother in-law tried it and it was extremely spicy as my mother in-law can eat spicy. My daughter was sharing with her grandma. Spoke with the manager and let him know of this case and he was willing to exchange, but told him we have waited long enough and my daughter doesn't want to eat anymore. He was nice enough to cancel the order. Another thing is the drinks. My older daughter ordered an ice tea and that ice tea was even sad as hell. It was bland and water down and the waitress dare to say its brisk tea, it looked like that. she think I was dumb or something. It was so light in color it just tasted like water with food coloring. Never again I would go again, not to mention of the server. I only gave this a 2 rating because of the manager, if it weren't for him, my whole family would have walked out.
