😠 Looking forward to try something new and I saw this canned nitro cold brew coffee. So I asked the staff how they made this nitro cold brew in a can just out of curiosity. But the staff simply answered “oh, you can order it and try” in an arrogant manner. Still I ordered it and gave it a shot. There... People often mention coffee, beans, great, good, staff, experience, taste, Hatch, espresso, brew,

A coffee roasters place by artisans. They have a huge facility just behind the shop where they roast and prepare coffee beans. The front staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and honest. Amazing customer service and support. They sell bags of roasted coffee in various tastes and regions, lots of coffee cups and drip coffee holders, insulated mugs for your on-the-go hot coffee. They have their own merch, and they support (what I assume are) small local businesses by selling their products in their shop. Overall, it was a great experience because of the staff and the variety of artisan coffee. For those who don't live around this area or who are visiting for the first time, it may be a bit confusing to find this place. Mainly because there are multiple low rise buildings with the same colored bricks and so it's not conspicuous. I used Google maps and it got me to the right location.

For a coffee roaster / cafe, Hatch is exceptional in two different ways: The place itself is downright uninspiring and the staff have always been rather aloof every time I go. I have honestly never been to a coffee shop with such little personality. If it was free to ship 2 bags I would definitely do so instead of buying in person. But DAMN! The coffee they roast is excellent and makes up for the subpar in-store experience, so I keep coming back to buy the delicious beans. At home I make flat whites almost exclusively and I find their lighter roasts marked for 'filter' work great for me.

Hatch was recommended by another coffee shop in downtown Toronto. We had to try this place. At first we thought you can only buy beans from the store but it turns out they make coffee drinks too. The latte was perfectly prepared with the perfect milk temperature. Love this place and so happy we paid a visit.

I tracked down Hatch after trying their cold brew at brunch at a spot called Revalee in Vineland (Niagara area). The cold brew was the best I'd ever had, so I was ecstatic when I found out that they were located in Markham. We finally made it out there today (they are closed Sundays). They serve coffee to go, as well as items you can purchase for home. The location itself is tucked away in an industrial area, but it's conveniently just off of Highway 7. The person there was very friendly and helpful.

The coffee bean that I bought in this shop is so good. Even though it’s just a black coffee, you can taste the sweetness. Nice place for coffee fans

Finally made it out to their roasting space and I am glad I did! Although it’s a bit of a hike if you don’t live in the east end, I think it’s worth it. I had their Red Lotus espresso and it was the most perfect espresso tonic I’ve ever had. Keep in mind this isn’t a cafe, they sell their beans, merch, some coffee gear, & some drinks but not a proper, sit-down cafe. IMO, these are some of the best beans in the province & they have the awards to back it up!

I am referred by my coffee experience of another cafe in downtown and I saw Hatch Coffee. We ordered Flat White and Latte. The milk are both steamed with smooth and silky texture with a very special characteristics of Starlight’s espresso shot. We would say these two cups of coffee are one of the best in our memories. I ordered different beans to try with my Siphon coffee maker at my home.

I'm a huge fan of Hatch and they are starting to become my go to roaster in Canada! I live in Manitoba and have ordered from Hatch a few times now and I'm always impressed with how quickly they are able to roast and ship the beans (ordered Sunday night, delivered 2 days later on Tuesday with very recent roast dates). A transparent roaster with great selection and great prices who I trust to provide specialty-grade coffee that's been perfectly roasted!

Found this place because I saw their beans used at Elephant Grind. Very knowledgeable and experienced staff that are truly love specialty coffee. They have a large variety of beans and brew equipment ins tore as well as on their website. They also serve coffee where they roast the beans which is always delicious and is miles ahead of any other coffee nearby.

2022 June 4★ Finally had a chance to try it. It's good, different and an acquired taste. I've never had coffee like this before and while it's certainly smooth with no after taste, it's really an acquired taste. Perhaps I'm accustomed to the usual fast food chain, or the Starbucks... But this is totally on a different level. If your looking for expensive coffee with a unique taste... You've found the spot. While good and in its own way unique, it may be too different from what I'm accustomed to. Had the $ 6 FAZENDA OLHOS D'AGUR, which came in a small cup. It was intensely aromatic and smelled good. I couldn't taste the watermelon, chestnut nor chocolate... per se.... But there were certainly some good floral notes. Maybe it was me 😅 Those reading, you should try it if your into coffee. It's certainly an interesting experience of flavors. 2022 May 4★ Unfortunately the shop had no power due to unforeseen circumstances. Couldn't actually try it. This is only a review of the experience with the staff at the shop. Helpful staff despite the power outage. Will re review next time.

Direct from the Roasters. Always fresh! + All types of beans and coffee gadgets to go! Their cold brew is super smooth and comes in a case of single bottles. My fav go-to espresso roast is the “blackout” it has the right bold intensity with no citrus sours aftertaste some beans have. They even have a cute coffee vending machine now as well. The facility is location inside a business plaza with at least 5 parking spots out front.

Located in an industrial area in a spot where it’s situated by many low rise office buildings Heard so many good things about hatch and just had to try it myself They have all your coffee and espresso essentials, but I opted for the pour over. Usually, I will take cream in my coffee but this one was really smooth and clean It was a very light and bright coffee with bursts of acidity that was balanced very nicely that I did not need or miss the cream in the coffee. Looking back at my camera roll, I just noticed they have a super premium pour over that has minimal fermentation washed geisha which is their el paraiso saque pour over. I think I’m gonna have to go back and hope they have that there! A geisha coffee recently made it to my bucket list. Expensive for a geisha coffee, but would love to try that out for that coffee experience! Service was great as I wasn’t rushed in my decision and they informed me the pour over would take about 6-7 mins to prep Great job overall! They have flavours and items for the adventurous coffee lover to the tried and true sugar and cream coffees. Just convey what it is you like and the team will surely find what’s good for you.

Best roasters in Markham! This is the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and never disappoints. The baristas are very knowledgeable and skilled. They sell a plethora of coffee equipment whether you're new to brewing coffee or a seasoned pro. They also carry products from minor figures, both milk alternatives and premixed drinks such as chai latte, mocha, etc. And if you're into cold brews, they sell large bottles for you to take home as well. Pre-covid times they'd offer cupping events to allow customers to taste a variety of coffees in one sitting. The facility is quite modern and spacious as well.

We got Coffee Tonic. Fun Fact, this spot supplies Coffee Beans to most of the Coffee shops around the GTA, their Coffee Bean is so RICH and flavourful! We chose Blackout Espresso for this! Coffee Tonic was literally Espresso and Tonic Water, the Tonic Water brought out the Espresso flavour, but to describe it to you, it was Sour and Bubbly! Though it was Sour, we enjoyed this Drink, because the Coffee itself was delicious!

I had a lovely experience visiting Hatch in Markham for the first time. Staff took the time to educate me about their products and the nuances of their coffees and the espresso drinks they serve. Thank you. I will certainly be back for more!

Last minute stop to pick up some souvenirs. Locally roasted coffee beans were a great alternative to maple syrup. Wasn't aware there was a cafe & workshop area housed within the building. Had the opportunity to enjoy a cup before purchasing the beans. Overall lovely place in an industrial complex.

Tucked out of the way in the middle of a office park, this is a must visit coffee shop if you are in the area. I got the cold brew and honestly haven't had a smoother or stronger brew before. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends.

I looked forward to visiting here today but unfortunately I felt some disappointments. I ordered a flat white and a latte. The latte’s lid didn’t close properly. Baristas should be careful even when it’s busy if they close the lids by themselves for serving drinks. The flat white’s espresso taste was watery. It was my first impression, and I kept drinking… my tongue caught a smoky flavour at least. The espresso key words includes Molasses so smoky flavour is correct so 2 stars.

A nice local coffee roaster! It was recommended by a friend when I was looking for specialty coffee beans. Online ordering and subscription services are pretty good! Free parking is available in front of the store.

Hands down the best coffee roasters around. I’d highly recommend the monthly subscription. Also the latte art workshop was great! Vivian was so kind and patient with me and my partner. It was an awesome learning experience.

Coffee is fantastic. Staff are great at brewing. Only wish they had normal whole milk. Looking forward to this vending machine being somewhere but inside 😂

Very interesting coffee store. Always knew their coffee from the bags we bought but this was my first time visiting the facility. It truly is a coffee lab. They have many beans to choose from. I got a pour over and it was really great. I wanted to try the double anaerobic coffe but it is just a tad too pricey for my comfort.

Good coffee with great staff. Black out is not my type but I can tell how good they can make a coffee is. I don't have a grinder at home and the staff are happy to ground a bag of beans for me.

Amazing coffee. Dispute the long line, the service was speedy and drinks were delicious. Our new go to spot! Looking forward to their coffee workshop

In uptown, besides Red Bulb, this is probably my place to go for a cup of good coffee. This place makes and roast their own brand of the coffee bean. It is a little bit hard to find because the entrance is like a commercial office entrance. But once you open the door, you will know you are at the right place because the coffee bean aroma… boy oh boy.. hmmmmmm… This is the place that gets me to start appreciate pour over coffee. The last time I have it was at least 7 years ago and I hated it and stop having it again until at Hatch. and I will be honest with you, I know nothing about coffee and all I am relying on is my taste buds. My tastes buds and my nose are doing the happy dance when I try my pourover again at Hatch. :) High five to you Benny in giving me a good pour over experience! Their cappuccino are made with oat milk which are very good and their Americano is good as well. I like to come to this place when I can after buying take out lunch. :)

Literally a hidden gem in Markham & an experience in itself! Their menu is a really unique one & you can tell you’re getting a quality drink just by the aroma! Check out my IG page @kellychows for more! 💞

They offer the best coffee beans in toronto, and best coffee as well. The brewista is talkative and able to explain everything about coffee for you. And his brewing skill could also be one of the best in Canana.

Fantastic coffees and great customer service. I emailed customer service about some issues I was having with brewing a certain coffee and I had a rep write back to me promptly sharing a technique that would help get the most out of the specific type of coffee I was working with. My results improved immediately. Great roasters that care about their community.

These guys are making really interesting coffee. Stopped by with a buddy today and got 2 very fancy pourovers (see pic). The barista, Benny, was very skilled and really enhanced the experience. My buddy and I agreed both coffees were very, very good - and interesting. Tasted flavours I’ve never tasted before in coffee. It actually tasted like the tasting notes! One tasted like jasmine tea and bergamot to me. The other tasted like lychee and peach tea. Really great!!

This place is something special! I’m no coffee aficionado, but I sure do like drinking it: and Hatch definitely provides! I have tried out multiple kinds of beans of different flavour profiles from here, and they all taste so great. Always freshly roasted, and the variety is super nice. Staff are extremely helpful and walked with me over different concepts: yes I wasn’t too sure of the difference between espresso and pour over beans. Does my lack of coffee experience make this review less credible? I am unsure, but I am sure that I’ll keep buying their beans! A visit is highly recommended if you are in the area and like coffee!!!

Hatch has taken over as the best coffee in the GTA in my books. When paired with the right brewing equipment, you can really taste the layers of complexity. Staff are always very friendly.

Amazing fresh coffee with tasty notes and flavor. My Cappuccino had a beautiful oily shine on the top. Loved it. Didn't need any sugar. Ordered Cappuccino with Gamma espresso ($5+tax) and Coleminita Pour Over. ($6+tax)

Amazing coffee.. totally different level than starbucks

  • 5/5 Chris S. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent selection of beans. They skew toward the lighter side of roasting so their coffees are very complex. They have great baristas who make excellent pour overs.

Winning roaster with rear coffee beans selection! Even though some are so expensive, it worth to have it once a while for me! Great selection of Minor Figure products too; oat milk, cans of cold brew and so much more.

Looking forward to try something new and I saw this canned nitro cold brew coffee. So I asked the staff how they made this nitro cold brew in a can just out of curiosity. But the staff simply answered “oh, you can order it and try” in an arrogant manner. Still I ordered it and gave it a shot. There was no foam from the nitrogen and the coffee tastes stale. After taking a sip I had to ditch the coffee - how disappointing! Then I asked the staff why there is no foam and he replied “The production line made it like this”. Apparently the staff knew the product is faulty and they still roll it out to the market. Such a deceptive description to the consumers. What pissed me off the most was that reflecting my experience to the front staff wasn’t helpful at all. He did not take it serious or at least sound apologetic. Is the the way a premium coffee company treat their customers?
