    Don’t sign up if you want to be scammed! Losing signed documents to force you into the contract. Apparently sending cancellation confirmation emails are just too hard to do?? Still waiting after 3 weeks - Just don’t sign up if you want to interact with rude people such as Mark Denmeade. Even better go to anywhere else but here.

    Unusually quiet for a Fitness First. The high ceiling makes for a very open feeling, with equipment in good condition and a friendly staff to compliment your workout. Four stars because the shared relaxation space can get too crowded toward the end of the day and there is often a slightly unclean feeling due to so many people there.

    Over the course of my membership, I encountered several issues that significantly impacted my satisfaction. The cleanliness of the facility left much to be desired. Additionally, the time spent searching for a locker was excessive, and the gym's interior was uncomfortably hot during the summer, with an air conditioning system that seemed ineffective. The fans, unfortunately, did not work at all. Following my decision to cancel my membership, I encountered further frustration. Not only did I incur a penalty, but an additional charge was mistakenly deducted from my account. Despite my efforts to address this issue, I have yet to receive a refund one month later. The lack of transparency and timely resolution is disconcerting. Furthermore, the management's response to these concerns has been unsatisfactory, marked by repeated excuses and a perceived lack of accountability. I believe it is crucial to address these issues promptly to improve the overall experience for your members.

    This place deserves a negative rating. Absolutely ridiculous. Worst worst worst decision to sign up here. I have a membership since a year and I am hella struggling to get rid of the fee they are charging me. I told them I do not want to continue after I finish my contract and it is bloody too hard to cancel. I called them on march to cancel and they replied they have this that protocol and will send email to their manager instead they increased the fee without letting me know. I literally had to chase them for it and yet I kept getting the same response as they have left the email to Mark the manager who will give you a call tomorrow and that tomorrow never comes. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE AS IT ONLY FOCUS IN SIGNING YOU UP AND DO NOT LET YOU CANCEL. NO ONE IS RESPONSIBLE HERE. After a long wait finally, the manager emailed me saying he never knew my case which is now cancelled with no refund. This place is horrible they do not care at all. SHAMELESS AND DISHONEST BUSINESS.

    Zero regulation at this gym. Cleanliness of the whole place is not maintained. Car owners made their own rule and park wherever, at the turn in, right in front of the gym entrance, middle of nowhere at repco, restricted parking area.. the handicap spots are always occupied, you can never find stickers on their windscreen. Again, gym should reinforce rules not to allow parking at pick-up point. Slowed traffic and compromise safety in an already heavily dense parking area. There is a reason why this gym has the worst rating.. take time to read through the other comments before you signed on the whole year.

    Worst gym I have ever been to, awful experience. Think twice before sign a contract here, the staff gives incorrect information to customer about plans and cancellations and when ou need any kind of assistance they're never available or act like doing you a favor. Poor customer service, not even the manager is able to do his job without being rude. Do yourself a favor and train in another place.

    My friend and I went to your gym on October 9th and told the front desk that we are only taking a sauna, because we are not members, and the fee is $25 per person. We changed our swimsuits to find out that the sauna and steam didn't work, we are nearly 70 years old, froze for 50 minutes and still not fixed. So we went to the front desk to report, the front desk said that the refund would be given to us, asked me for my bank account, and said it would be credited within 10 days. But two weeks later, the money has not arrived, I don't know why.

    My husband left my headphones for a bit in the gym area and when he came back it wasn’t there anymore, he thought he just left it in the car. So when he checked the car and it wasn’t there he was positive that he left it in the gym. He reported it. The manager showed my husband a clip of the CCTV but showed no further details. He just showed a certain time and stopped at a certain time too. Not showing all the other angles. He is covering something up, and is tolerating thieves in the club. He wouldn’t show other footage and full coverage. He let this pass just by saying he couldn’t no anything. If you cannot feel safe with small things in that branch how can you trust them with bigger things. It is all over the club that the place is laced with CCTV but when needed they cannot make good use of it. I HOPE THE MANAGER WILL NOT CONDONE AND TOLERATE THIS ACT BECAUSE WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED!

    Dated and needs a deep clean. I did a free trial and did not sign up. There were thick layers of dust on many places, some machines were broken (the rower had water leaking out of it). The mens locker room had some lockers with no doors. There was also a cockroach there. I went up the road to Crunch Fitness. Cheaper and cleaner.

    : Misleading and Unethical Practices I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with fitness first Rockdale. I signed up for a gym membership based on the information provided to me by their staff, only to later discover that I had been seriously misled. The staff assured me that canceling my membership would be straightforward and cost-effective, but this turned out to be completely false. When I tried to cancel my membership, I was hit with unexpected and exorbitant cancellation fees that were never mentioned during the sign-up process. Furthermore, I was given incorrect information about the terms and conditions of the membership, and when I raised these issues with staffs], they were unhelpful and dismissive. This type of dishonesty and lack of transparency is inexcusable. Fitness first should be upfront with their customers, providing clear and accurate information about their memberships and cancellations. Their misleading practices and hidden charges have left a sour taste in my mouth. I strongly advise potential members to be cautious when dealing with this gym. There are plenty of other fitness centers that are more honest and customer-friendly. My experience with fitness first has been a costly and frustrating one, and I cannot recommend this gym to anyone I wish I could give 0 stars thank you for nothing .

    Useless and disorganised gym who lose contracts and keep passing you onto other useless staff. They also continually try to charge you, after you cancel and conveniently say they never received the cancellation request. Avoid like the plague.

    Pool water and the pool area aircon doesn’t work. It’s always cold. Hard to swim during winter specially. Complaining to the management did not work as it seems they do not care at all. I have been attending this pool only for the swim school trainer Christen. She is the best trainer I have ever seen for my kids swim training.

    I had a great experience at this gym that stands out from other gyms I've been to in the past. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the manager, Omar, was very attentive and helpful in explaining the different membership plans available and helping me choose the best one for my needs. The gym itself is very spacious and has a great selection of equipment, making it easy to get a good workout in. I particularly enjoyed using the swimming pool, which was impressively clean and well-maintained. The steam room and sauna were also great amenities, especially during the colder months. Additionally, the gym has ample parking spaces available in front, which is a big plus. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at the First Fitness Gym in Rockdale. The positive environment, great facilities, and attentive staff made my workout very comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a quality fitness experience.

    Unprofessional Conduct and Disregard for Member Comfort I am compelled to share my recent distressing experience at fitness first that has prompted me to reevaluate my longstanding membership. My father, a gym-goer for many years, was subjected to highly unprofessional conduct by a staff member named John. During closing hours, John forcibly entered the shower area, pushing my undressed father out despite a polite request for just two more minutes. This incident not only reflects a severe lapse in staff professionalism but also highlights a complete disregard for member comfort and well-being. As someone who has been a loyal member for over a decade, with children attending swimming lessons, I am deeply disappointed. I believe such behavior is inexcusable and should not be tolerated in any establishment. I hope the gym management takes swift and appropriate action to rectify this situation and maintain the gym's reputation for providing a safe and respectful environment for its members. Authorities have been involved and the security did admit to these actions of course my father did repel in harsh language due to the outrageous issue… please do better for other clients as you have lost a long lasting client

    I need to cancel my gym membership as I’m going back overseas but the staff made it really complicated!! Saying that the manager will contact us, after several phone calls and emails. It never happened!! My contract is finished from a year ago which means I can cancel at any time and just need to give notice 30 days.IT’S ANNOYING!!

    They just got rid of 6 new clients! My parents and 4 of their friends were looking to find a local swim place. I was nominated to show them where it is and what to expect as their English is not the best. They reasured us that first session was free. But when I told staff that I was a member 10 years ago they refused my free entrance! Even that it was ages ago ! Really dump policy! They just lost 6!! New local clients ! And after they kicked us out they are still calling me to buy a fkn membership and inviting us to join ! Shame shame shame !

    It has to be the worst fitness first in Sydney in terms of infrastructure and members culture. Also called for a cancellation, they said they’d cancel it for me but it wasn’t done so now I have to pay an extra week because of their incompetence. There’s very limited parking on peak hours, no one, absolutely no one re-racks their weights

    I am a new member in this gym, only 2 weeks have been passed since I signed up. I have had a terrible experience with one of the staff members, her name is Amelie. I have 3 Complementary Guest Passes that says I am allowed to bring any friend or family member. I brought a friend who is interested to join the gym. I wanted to use one of the Complementary passes I have. She spoke to us in a very rude way and denied his access and called me a LIAR because he doesn’t look very interested to join the GYM from how she see it! She treated us in a very disrespectful way. She also refused to give me the manager’s name to talk to. I will cancel this membership 100%! Once you are a member with them you will be treated badly because they guaranteed your weekly payment!

    I asked to make my membership cancel at gym reception and they said we they had made request to cancel my membership but payment deduction will continue to further next 3 months I personally visited gym again called them to cancel or refund but every time reception person changes and every time they said we have made request. This gym staff does not care about your problem as they are still getting money from bank. Do not do auto debit with these guys

    On the plus side, the staff are friendly and do their best, but the place is in disrepair, the equipment is really old, roughly 75% of the lockers don't work, it's far too busy in peak hours and get they are often trying to get you to give your friends phone numbers out to get more members. The place needs a lot of work to get it up to a decent standard. Won't be staying here after my contract ends.

    It was my worst decision to sign up for a program with Rockdale branch. Without even trying out they started charging my account on top additional charge which I had no idea about. The timings were informed wrongly both by the staff and manager himself. I asked for a refund and I had to literally fight to get it credited on my account with frequent follow up calls, emails most of it was attended with neglect, calls were disconnected without consent by the staff and the person followed had zero manners to explain the situation or apologise. Totally insensitive customer service, impolite reception handling, worst and worst service to be just fair. Wouldn't suggest this place for anyone or will think twice before joining with Fitness first brand itself, pathetic !

    Nice clean gym with great facilities and machines. Does get busy at times but if your schedule is flexible, there are times when it's less busy. Parking can be a challenge depending on your timing throughout the day. The front staff always have a friendly smile and greet you upon entering and leaving the premises

    An open gym with lots of room and upbeat, approachable trainers. Good range of equipment, though some could use a refresh or upgrade. Locker rooms are not the cleanest. The lockers have recently been upgraded to padlocked, not card tap and go locks like most other fitness firsts, so bring a padlock or purchase one.

    Recently had a 5 day free trial at this filthy disgusting gym.. when the staff asked what I thought and if I wanted to join, I mentioned the lack of cleanliness being off putting and the staff told me I couldn’t finish my 5 day free trial and I was no longer welcome as I thought the gym was dirty. Way to impress a prospective member guys. How rude!! I highly recommend some customer service training for the pumped up numb nuts on the front desk by the name of Huss!

    I’ve had the same poor experience with contract cancellation and being overcharged by Fitness First Rockdale. Edit: I’ve now been refunded the overcharge and re-rating up to reflect that. My original criticisms about lack of communication and the hassle of having to chase various people for weeks remain.

    If i could leave no stars i would. Absolutely the worst gym i've been to. Every equipment is outdated and old. There is 0 maintenance done in this gym. This gym really hinders the brand of fitness first. They really need to get their act together, and will not return and will advise others to not bother coming to this one. The gym has: - 80% broken lockers - Poor yoga instructor that doesnt know what she is doing - Equipment missing parts so can't use - Pool looks disgusting

    The pool is super dirty, and busy, The shower door are super old, and not very clean, but the most difficult part is how hard is to cancel a membership. They are not happy that you offer to pay the high cancelation fee ($295), they also want a cooling off period to 30 days for you to cancel (keep this in mind, when you are cancelling your membership). So the cancellation fee is actually 295 + 30 extra days (4-5 weeks). The hardest part, is that they are not "allowed" to cancel the membership (even though the website is saying to call to cancel), because a "manager" is not present in the gym. Why is that not a clause in the contract that for cancelation you need to be "luck" enough to have a manager in site? Why is this not available at the website? This is awful, the customer service is pretty bad (always keep you on hold for over 20 minutes, if not hung up while you are on hold), and to make it worse, they didn't even gave me a membership card after 2 months of membership. (as the machine was broken). What do they do with that money? I just wish there were better gyms in Rockdale with a swimming pool available, so we didn't have to deal with this poor customer service from Fitness First "stealing your money" with their pretty unfair contracts. Lesson of the day: Never signup for a gym membership, if they don't have a membership outside a contract, just don't do it. More or less, use the water centre nearby instead of a gym, You pay per visit (much cheaper), the pool are not just bigger, bur also cleaner, the showers are better, and the customer service is always great.

    About 4/200 of the mens lockers actually have doors on them or work. Have been coming here for about 1.5 years because i live just around the corner and in the hopes that they fix it in that time. Such an inconvenience that has never been fixed so I'm now discussing a membership with Plus Fitness and the UFC gym down the road.

    This is the best gym in this locality and value for money.i am lucky i am able to use the services. Will miss fitness first if i move to any other suburb the group session classes are awesome esp. Pilates pump and attack. I have used another gym before it was expensive than fitness first and not such value for money.

    Tried out the gym last week, after viewing the gym in person and checking the club reviews, I do have to say that the gym is not as bad as expected. Being a boxer I enjoyed the sauna, steam room pool facilities and will potentially look at coming here more often. Staff are very approachable and helped me figure out where everything in the gym was as it was quite big :)

    It's too dangerous to go to FF Rockdale at night time because the car park on the second floor is complete darkness at night. They have lights before but for some reason they decided to keep them off. I attended their 630 zumba class and I felt and bruised my legs and arms after the class. I put a complaint message on their fb page but unfortunately they removed my complaint.😑😑😑 Those are the photos I taken on the night. Its complete darkness at the car park.

    Don’t get a membership; worst gym ever. Dirty place, toilets very dirty, equipment isn’t well-maintained; often they are out of service. Staff are very rude. My membership only allowed access to Rockdale, then someone in Maroubra canceled my membership. I noticed that when my card wasn’t working, I asked one member of the staff, and he said that it was their mistake, and because of that, I would get one week free. Okay, two weeks later, my card wasn’t working, and I asked the staff. The girl wanted to charge me extra money, and I didn’t get my week free. She called her manager; he was extremely rude with me when I asked why someone could cancel others' membership, that the gym system wasn’t safe. Anyway, before going to this gym, please read the reviews.
