I gave birth here 3 weeks ago. From 2cm to 9cm I contracted in the hallways, waiting rooms (If I wanted to be with my partner) and in the assessment room if I wanted a bed and endone - alone, without a nurse checking in on me or offering any kind of support. My waters broke around 8-9cm, I was given a mini towel and bed pad and told to "go clean yourself up" in the toilet by myself and questioned what can my partner give me that they cant when I cried out that I wanted to go see my partner in the hall way outside the assessment area. I had to basically beg to go to a birthing unit to be able to have my partner be allowed with me, and thank god I did as I was 9cm when I got in there and then advised it was too late for epidural 😓

We have our baby born in this hospital. We are more than satisfied. The midwifes not only work professionally but they also work personally. We got the feeling that they are part of our family. Midwifes made us feel like home. They were so supportive. They provided us with all the support they can. I have no words to explain my satisfaction.

After the new building for birthing and maternity. Things have really changed. No more non caring, rude staff (as we had with our first born 5 years ago). Csec surgery staff were so positive and working together with positive attitude. Their work culture says it all After Birthing, Maternity units were so good and this time you get privacy and comfort in your own rooms. Special longer seats for the dads who can sleep there now, with blankets and pillows provided. Midwives in maternity were so caring and went above and beyond. Definitely there are positive changes in the culture there from beginning to end

Honestly wish I could give the ED a zero. Coming from a third world country I thought that my experience was going to be better in a so called first world country. Went in with a referral from my doctor to see an infectious diseases doctor because I was coughing up blood, with Covid and at the same time pregnant. No one looked at my referral, was told to sit down where everyone else was seated. Waited for 5 hours, when I decided to ask the nurse who was at the reception, how long I was going to wait, she just looked at me in disgust and said today is going to be a very long wait. I thought it was best for me to go home and die at home rather than die in a hospital. Worst experience ever

Incredibly thankful for the care and support at the Blacktown Hospital throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postnatal. I was under the care of the Midwifery Group Practice where I was provided with one-on-one care with a midwife. This included the monthly home visits for a routine check-up and discussing any issues. For birth, the level 6 birthing unit was amazing! It's spacious and well-equipped for active birth. The private room in the lovely maternity ward for recovery is great also. All the nurses and doctors I've come across during labour and birth have been caring and wonderful! The postnatal/follow-up support at home was just as important as I was having issues with breastfeeding. It was very hard, painful, and required a lot of work, but my midwife was helpful, and I'm now breastfeeding exclusively. This was my 3rd pregnancy with the MGP, and I'm fortunate to receive their amazing care. My midwife was terrific; she was knowledgeable and professional. She was there throughout my journey, which made it a positive experience (as this can be very daunting!). If you are interested, you will need to contact the hospital or email via the MGP Facebook page.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Absolutely disgusting service. Go to any other hospital in the area if you value dignity and respect. Nurses make up stuff as they go. My 11year son wasn't given any pain killers when recovering from his surgery, constantly being told at "this" time he can have some. It would get to that time and it would of changed to at least another hour. 8 hours with no painkillers. Nurses telling each other their holiday stories instead of doing their jobs. If nurses really believe they're treated badly maybe they need to look at their behavior and their work ethic.

Awful experience. Designed to make you go through hell. Every single person was attended to at ED and I wasn't and had to wait over night over 11 hours. So apparently my situation is not an "emergency" and I am not equal as everyone else to recieve immediate assistance. Terrible system that needs a reform altogether. You think that coming here you Value yourself as a person to get yourself help. The opposite. You receive hell trying to get help. That is our current state of affairs in our capitalist driven society. Looks like being in an emergency, no matter how much you're wailing crying and desperate for help, isn't considered an emergency.

I went to emergency with sever abdominal pain. It took almost 8 hours to get medication that actually helped to ease the pain. They wanted to admit me, but had no bed. I waited for 12 hours for a bed with no success. They advised me to have liquid diet. But couldn’t provide it. After my 28 hours ordeal at the waiting room, yep, the whole day & night I was at the waiting room, I had enough. While I was there I saw an elderly lady crying in pain & in the end her son taking her home. I saw a young lad having some sort of convulsion & fainting & waiting for someone to help him. I am sure the doctors & nurses are doing their best with all the right intentions. They are probably severely understaffed. But this was just ridiculous. I am afraid experience won’t be much different with any other public hospital. This can’t be how emergency should run.

Labor and Birthing experience : I would have given this hospital a 5*, if not they had killed my beautiful baby daughter with their over-confidence and carelessness. If you do select this hospital for the birth of your child, you are seriously leaving the result to pure luck in terms of the health of the mum & bub. The staff here do work to the best of their ability, but that ability is questionable on every front. As parents, you need to be vigilant at all times. Understand what pregnancy means, how labor works and what signs you should be looking at while the mum is in labor. DO NOT TRUST THE MID WIVES OR DOCTORS TO WORK IN YOUR FAVOR. Question them with all your concerns, do not leave them to run the show, as they will not be able to deliver the best outcome for your family. As parents you have to have enough medical knowledge and skills to be able to counter any careless decisions that the mid-wife and doctors make. This hospital requires your baby and mum to be extremely strong, as they like to push you to the verge of death before bringing you back. I guess it gives them a sense of excitement and achievement. For their personal adrenaline rush, they would leave everything to the last minute. Our doctor even confirmed that this hospital has a code RED twice every week. They love to take risks at the cost of your family. Our birthing unit experience was so tragic and filled with horror that we get shivers down our spine even looking at this hospital from far.

A big shout out to Kerrie Lloyd the patient Experienced coordinator at Blacktown hospital's ED. She is really the right person for this job. Such a beautiful, caring and passionate lady who was comforting patients and looking very well after them during her shift. I couldn't help but to ask for her full name as the least she deserves is this post of appreciation.

Utterly disgusting and needs to clean up their act. I arrived in Emergency with difficulty in breathing, high fevers and chills. Waited for 6 hours for a doctor to see me. I literally had to beg to see one multiple times Finally saw one and had raging fever. I asked for Panadol and couldn’t get one until they took bloods. My veins disappeared because I was feeling chills. I ended up having to ask my husband for Panadol and surprise once that kicked in a vein was able to be found. The doctor was nice at least. Blood results and finally another hour later I had a chest X-ray which showed I had pneumonia. I was told to wait in a chair. Yet there was a spare bed right there. My chest by this stage was in bad pain as was my breathing it was nearly midnight and I was exhausted. I asked if I could please lie down fir a moment on the bed and the nurse snapped at me “No! It’s dirty!” Forced to sit back in my chair in a section in the red zone with other sick people with COVID I witnessed the lack of apathy the nurses gave the other patients including an elderly woman who also had pneumonia and was begging for Panadol and for her drip to be attached. They kept saying we will be with you but they never did come back. It would have taken 2 minutes to give her Panadol and attach the drip in her arm. It was really cruel. Yes they were understaffed but they seriously didn’t care and sat at their desk. Everything took too long to do or they just kept saying we will get to you and just didn’t. I ended up making a makeshift bed out of 3 chairs. I just needed to lie down. I did receive a dose of antibiotics at least! At 3am I asked the nurse the possibility of a bed as I was struggling. I got told no and to sit back down. There’s one thing about being short staffed there’s another with staff that don’t care. It felt like a third world country but the fact is we live here in Australia. I ended up leaving to go to another hospital in the morning as I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to start the whole process again through emergency but the difference was radical as I saw a triage within 30 minutes, in a bed in ER, tested promptly, received Antibiotics again and the care from the staff were unbelievably caring and professional as you would expect it to be. Im not sure what the other sections of Blacktown hospital is like but the experience I had in the ER from the waiting room to the back was appalling, lacked common sense or any sense of urgency for patients. I heard more “we’re short staffed” and other snappy remarks than proper care shown. You’d expect better.

poor management, bureaucracy at it's best. emergency department full of patients and waiting for many hours. there is a solution and it is very obvious and simple chang the system, no need that all patients to wait .. just conduct blood pressure and blood test and if the patient is not in an emergency situation ask him to go home and we will call you back ASAP to come here when there is a free Dr and nurse.

Horrible experience tonight at ED. 9 hours I was there before I discharged against medical advice and went home. Took 8 hours to receive a simple blood test and told to wait several more hours for the results and a script. Only bright side was the lovely triage nurse, Chris.

Can understand why they are in the news as the worst hospital in NSW. So incompetent. My husband was transferred there two weeks ago and was moved wards. No one knew where he was after 4 calls to find him. 5 days in a row not 1 Dr rang me after being requested every day. Even when I was there the Dr took off refusing to talk to me about meds. The nurses lost his clothes that I left to bring him home in and I was left a message to come get him by physio only to have him mixed up with another patient in discharge. After 45mins of waiting I had to go up to the ward to find the Dr had decided to keep him without informing me, his carer. He had upped one of his tablets by 4 times which was dangerous and I had to sign him out with no clothes . They only got a wheelchair when I yelled at them. The poor elderly people can't even ring the buzzer to get the wet sheets changed because they put it purposely where they can't reach it. It is disgusting. No communication with family or proper duty of care. My husband was safer back at home. I wouldn't take my dogs there for treatment.

The ER service I have experienced was horrible, careless staff despite how much pain you have, they still chatting and laughing in front of patients who are suffering some degree of illness, who are waiting in the waiting area for long hours. No clear explanation, no solution and not in-depth knowledge. Wish the department will have some kind of reform .

Unprofessional doctors and overconfident MAC assessment team, My wife had no complications pregnancy. Until baby born no problem. But, medical negligence and malpractice, my son got aspirated in lungs . doctor don’t have idea he is aspirated. Didn’t get treatment on time. He is still sick after 2 months of age . Never trust blacktop hospital doctors, best not to choose. Thanks to NETs team and Westmead hospital doctors to save him. Don’t put your little one at your risk.

Absolutely disgusting treatment and unprofessional service. Went in and got checked by a nurse but she didn't even register the details. No one told us and we waited 5 hours waiting for our turn before eventually asking when the doctor would see us- when we could actually find a nurse. That's when the nurse actually began to add the details. Asked the patient to give a urine sample but when they got back the nurse had clocked off, not even telling the next nurse to relieve her duties. I would give them 0 stars if I could. We left before even seeing a doctor because we'd had enough.

Came to emergency with a kidney infection and a note from my doctor outlining the severity. Waited 3 hours not given any pain relief. I was classed as a level 4 which means they left me to rot and ignored me I needed urgent antibiotics as it can lead to sepsis. Highly understaffed one of the nurses said “sorry we have 1 nurse for 30 people so just WAIT!” I left and went to a private hospital and was treated within the hour. Will not return even on my death bed. What a sad public system we have here.

I cannot say enough positive things about Blacktown Hospital. My recent experience with this healthcare facility was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment I arrived to the time I left, I was impressed with the level of care and professionalism. First and foremost, the staff at Blacktown Hospital is a true testament to the healthcare profession. The doctors, nurses, and support staff displayed an exceptional level of dedication and compassion throughout my entire stay. They took the time to listen to my concerns, answered my questions, and ensured I felt comfortable and well-informed at every step of the way. The medical expertise and attention to detail were remarkable. The doctors were knowledgeable, experienced, and demonstrated a genuine commitment to patient well-being. They not only treated my condition effectively but also explained the treatment plan thoroughly, ensuring I understood the entire process. The nursing staff was equally remarkable. They were attentive, caring, and consistently went above and beyond to provide the best care. Their friendly and comforting demeanor made a significant difference in my recovery experience. Cleanliness and hygiene at Blacktown Hospital were impeccable. I was pleased to see a spotless and well-maintained environment. The hospital's commitment to hygiene and safety standards gave me peace of mind during my stay. Communication was another area where Blacktown Hospital excelled. The staff communicated with me, my family, and each other seamlessly. This level of coordination and clear communication helped reduce any stress associated with my hospitalization. Furthermore, the facilities and equipment at Blacktown Hospital are state-of-the-art. This made a significant difference in the diagnostic and treatment processes, providing me with confidence in the quality of care I was receiving. The hospital's commitment to patient education was impressive. They provided me with resources and information to understand my condition better and take an active role in my recovery. In summary, my experience at Blacktown Hospital was exceptional in every aspect. The dedication and professionalism of the staff, the high standards of cleanliness, clear communication, and the top-notch facilities all contributed to making my stay as comfortable and reassuring as possible. I'm incredibly grateful for the outstanding care I received at Blacktown Hospital and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of medical attention.

Emergency needs a major overhaul, my daughter is rarely sick but on this occasion she was severely ill. As procedure nurse checks and asked those initial questions in the waiting area. You actually think you’re in but after that you get told to wait in the children’s section. Waiting 1 2 3 4 5 6 hours and nothing. Ring around to other hospitals and you get the same answer, the wait time is 6 hours. Ask the nurse how long will it be, and nothing, no answer and no idea. Ask again if our daughter can be seen, over hear a doctor say ‘no chance’!! We walked out!!!! The whole system is broken, it’s failing!! Doctors and nurses have no credentials here, if there were right doctors and nurses with skills treating conditions, sure enough we would have been seen. Nurses are at there desk chewing like cows and doctors are rude as hell, why be at an hospital if you’re going to mistreat patients like that. Absolutely awful!!

The absolute worse experience I have ever had at a hospital. Each time I have had to attend their emergency department has been atrocious. I would recommend you drive to any other hospital rather than attend here and deal with their rude staff, extremely long wait times and poor hygiene. Tonight they left a patient's blood on the floor for more than a half an hour before they cleaned it. To get triaged takes close to 30 minutes. On one occasion I was told, after already waiting 7 hours for an MRI, that the doctor they need for the MRI won't be in until 6am the next morning (another 4 hours wait). They do not act with any transparency, integrity or respect. The staff there refuse to provide any basic information around what the times will approximately be, they are generally rude and uncaring, and lie to patients. I watched as multiple patients ask reception for blankets and be told they will get them some and then go back to talking to each other. Patients have to remind reception 3 to 4 times before it's actioned. I watch them tell another patient they missed being called 30 minutes prior and will have to wait longer now. I was there and no staff member came out for anyone during that time. It's a horrendous hospital I would encourage everyone to go anywhere but here when they have the choice.

I’ve been to the Blacktown Hospital on a few occasions. The last two were for COVID tests and the experience was great. The first time the hospital was very busy Covid testing and still had us in and out within 45 minutes. The staff are always friendly and help you out every way they can. Today I had my second Covid test and it was not busy. I was in and out in 10 minutes and as always the staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking on site is free for 15 minutes then $6:80 for an hour. There is a sign at the boom gate for all the hourly rates. You can park on one of the side streets but they are usually full. A nice clean hospital. 👍

You take good care of my dad yes but there are some glaring issues you have yet to deal with. 1 lack of communication. My dad has been sick a long time and it took nearly a year for someone to actually talk to us about his condition. We asked nearly every visit to talk to his doctor or to get the doctor to at least call us. We bought him in for a test but wasn't told how many tests he was getting or how long roughly it would be. You don't even alert patients families that their loved one has been exposed to covid while in your care. 2 lack of proper signs. When he gets moved to different wards it's nearly impossible to find our ways in or out or what floors are the exits on the different elevators. Parts of this place have no clear way out signs. Super easy to get lost or wonder into the wrong areas especially when the elevator doesn't tell you what is on which floors. 3. OVER AN HOURS WAIT FIR A BLOOD TEST!!!!! JESUS CHRIST. Having a loved one in hospital is stressful enough. Please stop making things harder.

I had a worst experience of my life in emergency department. After waiting for more than 4 hours we got called to be assigned by medical student who wasn’t able to cannulate syringe to get the blood. My wife is pregnant with severe abdominal pain and the assigned doctor didn’t see her as she went to research work. This is inhuman of Dr Marylin to make us waiting for so long while she being an emergency doctor and went for research work. If she can’t do her job why is she taking this responsibility. She is playing with people life. My wife is crying in pain and they can’t assigned another doctor as Dr Marlyn as already being assigned. We have to wait her until she come back and no one knows when she comes back. How can someone asked a medical student to check an emergency patient of her own. Who will be in title for any harm or damage to the patient as I had today. There has to be serious action as the doctor doesn’t care about patient life at all.

The surgical ward B41 was wonderful. The staff were attentive and friendly towards both me and my other half, Chris, who had a total hip replacement. A special shout out to Belinda. an exceptional nurse just lovely and very efficient. Chris is in his early 60s and had never been a patient in hospital. He was very nervous and you all made him comfortable and relaxed. Thankyou so much.

I am currently having treatment for cancer. To say the nurses are wonderful and caring is an understatement. During what is the scariest time of my life they go out of their way to reassure you and always make you smile and laugh. They go beyond their job description and their dedication is next level. Thank you.

We came at 6.30pm, suspecting a heart attack symptoms we call our GP and after consulting with our GP, we go to the emergency @BlacktownHospital, register take so long, receptionist with a "dont disturb me look" told me that she is trying to login! Then waiting for doctor, then again for blood test, then wait again for xray, without anyone tell me, actually the blood test and xray result already done, found out its good, then we have to wait more than 1.5hr waiting, i dare myself to ask one of the nurse, she told me "only wait 1.5hr?" I dont know what is that supposed to be but sound like its ok to wait in the emergency for more than 1.5hr, perhaps we should spend our whole day in hospital emergency? Funny to see the word on the wall around this emergency saying "Aggression is never okay" but they can tell you with annoying and ignorance attitude to us? Its not that i dont respect and understand the busyness but i believe this and i quote, "treat people like you want to be treat"! Take that! @NSW HEALTH MINISTER

I was admitted into Blacktown hospital in the maternity ward and had to be here for 4 weeks prior to my delivery. During this time as difficult as it was the nursing staff were exceptional! I honestly didn’t know how I would last for that amount of time during covid with no visitations and seeing my family but everyone on shift from nursing staff, doctors, cleaners, workers taking my food orders made my stay a lot easier and genuinely cared about my well being and took the time to sit down with me, check in on me, nurtured my condition and for that I will be forever great full. Thank you so much to everyone x

The maternity ward of Blacktown hospital is the right place to give birth. Nurses, midwives and doctors are amazing. I had a great experience in delivery my baby few days back. Although my husband could not make it to the labour because of covid restrictions. The midwives were there all the time around me checking on me and my baby all the during the delivery. I was not alone. They have done a great job. Many thanks to the midwives Violetta and Venessa.

Gave birth in Blacktown hospital five days early, The midwives got my epidural in the wrong spot the first time, They put it in my vessel instead and I had to have it done twice. They got it right the second time: I was in contractions every four minutes, I was asking for pain medication and it took me 5+ hours to be able to have anything done properly. It took me 40+ minutes just to get two endone which it took me getting really upset and passive aggressive to which they responded “you don’t have to yell at us”, but I was screaming that I was in pain and proceeded to plead “help me” WHILE in early labour, this is my first child. The excuse I was given for not being given pain medication was that it was busy, Which we all understand but every patient is a responsibility and priority. If you are understaffed you need to fix that. The lack of support in the antenatal afterbirth ward was not good. I was not given the option to pick my meals, I could not eat what was given to me until my support person had mentioned the issue with the meals. I barely ate and barely slept. The midwife I had Chloe was really helpful and sweet to me, And I am thankful of her to be in the birthing room with me and my support person. They discharged me two days after birth knowing my baby was not having her bottle which is irresponsible because I am a new parent. She was not latching onto my breast which I explained and the midwives struggled to feed her themselves, shoving a bottle down her throat, eventually feeding her with a syringe which gave her air. they did not explain anything to me about birth and breastfeeding and they did not help me. my baby was going without feeds, They did not explain burping considering she had air, changing a nappy, I could not do anything until my friend complained. She’s doing okay now and feeding properly but some of the staff should not be staff. — Before I gave birth early I called the Blacktown Hospital and explained my contractions, A midwife told me she didn’t know what to do and put me on hold. As a midwife you are suppose to know what to do, That is their job. Very unprofessional as I was left on hold for more than six minutes.

Blacktown hospital has been re-developed and it looks absolutely terrific. The nurses and doctors are absolutely fantastic, it’s important to note that if you are having cancer treatment, your car parking is for free, additionally there are volunteers at the front of the entrance to assist you.

Amazing redeveloped hospital. ED is terrific. My daughter was admitted. Attention was on point and the staff were terrific. They even kept an eye on my pregnant wife who was staying with my daughter at the hospital for 3 days ensuring she kept her fluids and food up. Thank you to all the staff. Amazing work

Delivered my baby at black town hospital 3 weeks ago. Best midwives and great experience. We were treated with utmost respect and care by everyone at this hospital during and after my delivery. Everyone was really helpful. Also great options for vegetarian food.

I am not at all surprised about the numerous other reviews left about the “care” provided to patients, by nurses especially. A family member of mine came seeking emergency care and asked if she could call her mum for support while she was getting blood taken because she has an intense phobia of needles. Instead of treating her and her reasonable request with respect, a male nurse (I believe his name started with an N) told her that “he had better things to do” and snapped at her to hurry up while she was visibly upset and in pain due to the medical issues she was experiencing at the time. I am truly horrified that vulnerable and sick people are left in the hands of people who can’t be bothered to extend basic empathy to suffering patients, especially those who have been forced to wait for hours to be seen.

I was treated disgustingly here. I had horrible pain on my lower right hand side of my ribs. Didn't want to go to the hospital because I know what Blacktown is like. I went in Wednesday, 12 hours later was told my gallbladder needs to be removed, but no beds were available so I had to wait. I was nill by mouth till my surgery Friday afternoon/evening so Wednesday to Friday I'd had no food, my sugars dropped so they had to bring it back up. I slept in the Emergency room Wednesday night and Thursday night. I had a 6 month baby at home who i was away from. I requested to be transferred to another hospital as I have private insurance and I was told they need the doctors approval which they never gave so I was stuck or I had to start all over again. Giving a one star rating is being generous. I had after almost 48 hours reached my breaking point and just asked for help. One lovely nurse took pity on me and gave me a recliner chair to sleep in and I was finally able to have some sleep, I am so greatful to her. After 50 hours I finally got a bed and now had to wait for the surgery which took another 5 hours wait. Finally had the surgery and the Surgeon told me I was lucky to have the operation when I did because I was showing signs of being septic and I had multiple stones in my bile duct which caused immense pain. Unless your dying don't come here!!!

Seems the only thing they do with any urgency is get your private health insurance details. Waiting waiting waiting. I could have sat at home and not taken my antibiotics and starved myself for two days rather than do it in a hospital bed.

I wanted to thank two nurses and a doctor from the bottom of my heart. Nurses were Briney and Angela in emergency department. I do not remember the Iraqi female doctors name exactly but i think it was Dr Alyaa Al-Alsari. I came into emergency department this morning with my very sick 1.5 year old daughter. I was so upset and anxious to know why she was so unwell. These two nurses were always so incredibly comforting, so professional and so helpful. The little things they did for me as a stressed and tired mum, was so caring and warm i will never forget it. I am so so grateful for their care. We dont appreciate enough the work of nurses in this country, please make sure you pass on my gratitute for these gorgeous nurses. Also the doctor that saw my doctor was also so kind and caring, so attentive and so helpful, God bless you all.

worst place to go for emergency. I waited ⁵½ hours with a twisted pelvis on a hard chair in waiting room for 5½ hours. there was patients there who slept out in waiting room all night on a chairwoman were on fluids and were sick etc. Worst service I've had or seen at a hospital Mount Druitt isn't even that bad and thats saying something. won't be going there for an emergency again!

Worst Hospital Ever, went on 14/02/2022 waited for like 7 hours and still no response the emergency ward was full of people everyone in there was sitting around for minimum 6hours rude staff people were exhausted frustrated from the pain and the staff was roaming around. 6 Hours wait in emergency ward would not recommend this hospital for my enemy. No one should be left in pain.

Woke up with half my face swollen and had to go into the emergency at 7am. They were very quick to do covid test and blood test. Found out I need antibiotics and it took them an hour to administer and they made me sit in the waiting room. 2 hours had past for a 30 minute bag of antibiotics and no one had came to check on me. It wasn't until the doctor came out and told me I could go home and have nurses come to my house and do antibiotics for the next 2 days. It is now the first day of antibiotics from home and at 1pm I called the hospital and they put me through to hospital from home. Turns out the hospital never told them I needed antibiotics and had no one scheduled to see me. Here I am sitting at home with a canula in my arm waiting. Now I have to go back tonight for them to give me antibiotics. A shame as I didn't want to have to go back in with covid around.

The birthing department is beyond exceptional. The midwife's are amazing. The support is incredible. However the after care at the maternity ward is beyond traumatising. As a first time mother I had many questions with no support. The staff are rude and unsupported. I did not get lunch or dinner until my partner complained. They kept bringing pain medication without even the offer of water. You would recoeve mixed and unhelp information/advice. Wrong texts carried out to baby and incorrect results received. Not even sure what and why baby was treated. The baby doctor on shift 21/8/22 beyond unprofessional, rude and someone you would definitely not trust. I heard a nurse telling a new mother to hurry up in the bathroom as she wouldn't look after the baby. We also had our own nurse say you will need to do this; you can't expect us to do it...and that was to assist with breastfeeding. Its been awful and traumatic. After what these women go through I believe a nurse should take the baby for a hour's to let these women rest and recover. They make you feel awful for asking for help and everything is too hard for them. Beyond disgusting.

I visited Blacktown hospital yesterday 22nd November. I must say I was overwhelmed by the kindness and selflessness of the volunteers. Being my first time there,I had no clue on how to get around. Cliff T, one of the volunteers was quite helpful, even took his time to walk me right up to the ward I was looking for. The nurses in Ward C71 were very kind too.Thank you guys!

I have been sitting in the waiting room in a wheelchair for 16 hours and still have not been given a bed even tho I have been admitted over 10 hours ago. They have made my sciatica worse than when I came into hospital. Was told I’d have a bed ready for me asap 10 hours ago and still have absolutely nothing. Nursing staff have been helpful but the competency to care for patience in desperate need from the doctors is appalling.

I was at the A31 Building for day surgery. I was met by Nurse Didier and he was so kind and calming. Had a good laugh with him and just made me feel at ease. My night nurse; Nurse Harnit was beyond exceptional. She was so caring, fast and efficient. She spoke so softly and like I was a human which sometimes lacks in the healthcare industry. Thank you to you both for your exceptional service and for making my stay pleasant from start to end. 5 stars for the nurses and 4 for the overall stay. 🤎

I couldn’t give 0 or minus otherwise would have given minus. Its a crazy place with no organisation waiting time is more than 3 hours and then the doctor tells you all is good. My son had a surgery on his leg and had a rod put in. When going for 6 week appointment and asked doctor what is the rehab plan was told I have no idea and his first day in hospital. My son is on crutches for 6 weeks, he said ween him off crutches but no guidance was given by doctor or the physiotherapist. When I went to blacktown Physiotherapy clinic the therapist was least bothered about how to ween ofd my son from crutches. This is the worst ortho and physio clinic.

One of the best hospitals in Western Sydney. Both of my kids were born at this hospital. The staff is amazing. The new building is very nice and full of natural light. They also have wifi for the patients. The midwives are amazing and really helpful and caring. The new birthing unit has top of the class equipment and everything to make a mom in labor relax. The doctors and midwives are pro VBAC. I had my VBAC in this hospital. I cant forget the love and care showed by all the doctors, nurses and midwives at blacktown hospital.

Worst wait time - in emergency. I was there with my daughter for more than 12 hours just waiting and waiting to see a doctor...there were no seats left if you ever got up to go to loo or even out coz the rooms are freezing..and sick people coughing and bleeding. They did apologise when they saw her saying less doctors available at night and scan facilities only done in morning.

Visited emergency department of Blacktown Hospital after many many years. Totally new look, nice facilities, dedicated and cheerful staff looking no less then private hospital. To rule out underline cause of emergency visit, they performed few tests one after another so quickly. There was a specialist lady doctor and her student doctor associates so cheerful, helping and knowledgeable would boost your confidence. Please keep this spirit and morals up for such a fine standard of the hospital. Only at X-ray department I found, out of balance atmosphere and hence 4 stars from me. After completing X-ray, I could not find the way out. So I went back, and ask tall technician man for a door opening help. He was on his mobile phone, leg spread on table had no manner to get up and show simple green button which was to be pressed. Such a silly behaved person ruin fine atmosphere. Other then that overall good experience. Cheers!

Though the maternity department is new the service is still very poor. I called to let them know I was having contractions and they told me to come in. 20 minutes later I showed up only to be told there was no room for me deliver my baby and there was no midwife for me as they were understaffed and all available midwives had patients assigned to them already. So can you imagine being told that when you are 7cm dilated and in so much pain. They ruined my birthing experience .I don't recommend them. I gave birth at Westmead and Iwith my first and I will happily go back then even though they don't have massive tubs in their delivery suits for water births.

Could not thank the midwifery staff and doctors at Blacktown Hospital enough. Even though Blacktown Hospital doesn't have the best reputation both the maternity and birthing unit staff were fantastic! A special thanks to Kristi from the maternity unit. I had my baby boy there 3 weeks ago. After having a c-section they were very attentive to both mine and my sons needs during my stay. I also, liked that Kristi took the extra initiative to get to know me and address by name when entering my room. I felt instantly welcome and safe. I would highly recommend this part of the hospital for anyone that is to have a baby soon. Only downside to this wonderful experience was that due to covid restrictions my partner was unable to stay in the maternity unit with me. After addressing my concerns with the hospital manager and applying for the exemption they allowed him to stay the night my son was born (due to early hours of the morning). Completely understand why this rule is currently in play given the current circumstances. But at the same time the hospital should consider the wellbeing of the mother. In my experience being on your own in a new place can be daunting. So allowing your support person to stay with you would be the cherry on top. All in all a great birthing experience. :)

I am reviewing about Blacktown vaccination hub. It is very organized. There is very little waiting time as we made a booking. They also allow walk-ins, it might take more time than booked appointments. Today we went there for 5-11 year kids vaccine and they were just awesome. Kids got special super hero masks, a bravery certificate, a sticker and kid friendly waiting area.

I have been here with my daughter for the last 2 nights, going in to our third. I must say, all of the staff, from the security personnel on the hospital entries, all the way up to the staff on level 8 of the paediatric wing, have control be an amazing pillar of supper and strength, the wisdom and advice of the nurses and doctors on duty, has been nothing short of outstanding. Hearing the rumours of late about our medical professionals and what they have been going through since Covid and having the first hand experience or treatment if you like to call it, these people are absolute Gems, we all need to know their worth, not only acknowledge, but show the due respect they deserve. My daughter is far from recovered however, I felt it needed to acknowledge the tireless work they complete on a daily basis without any form of appreciation. Nurse Maria in particular, Wow! You have not only brought my daughters health back to some level of normality but has shown patience and compassion beyond any level expected from yourself. Be proud of who you are, what you do and know that this entire system falls apart without the selfless people like yourself. Thank you all so much and God Bless.

Amazing maternity ward service and facility. Very new and spacious birthing unit. Professional midwife giving me enough support and courage throughout the whole labour. Exceptional right timing to give sign to push when baby come out. Lucky with no any stitching at the end. Also love their MAPs service. Very good care after I back home. Midwife coming to visit us for the whole week, giving enough support on mother and check baby jaundice every time she visits. I can ask any questions whatever I concern about. Definitely excellent experience I have as I second pregnancy.

Emergency Department staff are disgusting. Ignoring requests from patients, two nurses are loudly chatting and swearing, laughing about past patients (including mentions of overdoses etc), absolutely shocking behaviour when most of your patients are trying to sleep or at the bare minimum relax (while waiting two hours for simple painkillers and asking multiple times). I even overheard a nurse force an elderly, barely mobile patient to walk to the bathroom because she did not want to clean their bed pan.

The hospital is new and looking nice but is so understaffed that the emergency room is always over packed with long waiting times, no where to sit except the floor. Getting discharged to be rushed back to hospital the next day by ambo because the doctors didn’t do the proper checks. Avoid coming here, this would be your last resort if you couldn’t get into any other hospitals

My wife was pregnant and it was an emergency my specialist dr has given us referrals letter that there is an serious issue with my wife and try to consider it asap. But, they didn’t care about it and we waited there for around 14 hours. It was a terrible service provided by the hospital and staff as well. They never cared about their patients, patients we’re waiting in a waiting room for long hours at a terrible condition.

Avoid this place at all costs. The women's health clinic is an absolute joke. It is hard to get anyone on the phone to make an appointment, if you need to reschedule you can't get through to anyone so you miss the appointment all together. If they call you and you miss it there is no way of calling them back. Then they cancel on you and then put your appointment back on at the last min. They contacted me and said they couldn't find my referral. Then asked if I could come in early 2 hours before my appointment.when I finally got there the dr wasn't available and they sat two other clowns infront of me that had no idea what was going on or had any knowledge of my history. The list goes on. Bottom line is do not even bother! Disgusting medical system!!!! Stay away

I just had to spend a couple of days in Blacktown hospital, I had to have surgery for appendicitis, even at my late age. The Hospital was very busy, But even so I got the best care I think was possible. Everyone I dealt with from the emergency Room to the wards to the surgical teams and in the wards again were fantastic. The surgical team was a dream, from the anaesthetic nurses and the theatre nurses to the Anesthetist and the surgeon, they were upbeat without being frivolous, positive and supportive and made me feel comfortable and safe in their care. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

Worst medical experience ever...... I went in with a referral because I thorn went through my finger whilst I was gardening. After explaining to them where it was, I was told that they will not operate to remove it because they can't see it, so they booked me in for a x-ray. Hours later I had the x-ray, where the thorn hadn't shown up (because you can't see thorns on an x-ray), then followed by an ultrasound, by a nurse that didn't know how to use the equipment. Nothing was seen with the ultrasound. I was refused the option to operate and sent home with a prescription for antibiotics, being told it was for the foreign object in my finger. (the foreign object they denied existed). I had just spent the whole day at Blacktown Hospital with no help. That night I performed the operation myself and pulled out the 6mm thorn. I emailed the hospital with my complaint, discharge summary and evidence of the thorn with before and after pictures, and I received no response. Good luck to anyone looking to go to Blacktown Hospital (you will need a lot of it).

OMG......This new hospital looks great but good luck finding where you’re wanting to get to, more signage within the hospital would be beneficial for everyone. As I went to visit a new baby & now if you aren’t aware that there’s letters for certain areas of the hospital, so by just be given a floor level, ward number & bed number doesn’t always get you to where you’re supposed to be, depending on what way you enter the hospital. Thankfully, a cleaner was more than happy to give me a guided tour to my correct destination.

Came into the hospital due to addiction to online apps on social media. Doctors believe i could potentially be having a relaps of post partum psychosis as I experienced an addiction to social media during lock down and the lead up to lockdown as I am very opinionated. My family believes it is toxic and dramatic and I could or have lost many friends because of it. However I do love to work with charities and assist others where possible to Access the services they may need. Yet in reality a lot of people these days have a 0 care factor for others and that needs to change.

My second son was delivered in Blacktown public hospital. The facilities were amazing and the wards were very clean and hygiene. Staffs were polite and helpful for reasonable requests. We should not forget that its a public system so cons and pros will always be there. Overall we had a very good experience except with some training mid wives who complicated the procedures at times. However we had a very critical normal delivery stayed in hospital for 4-5 days. But at the end it was all good. I need to mention about Midwife Rhea who looked after us since we got admitted. She was so nice and helping. Not sure it was a coincidence we met her when we got admitted for labor pain and she is one who delivered the baby too. Her care and attention was amazing that even in private hospital we cannot get such service. Hats off to her and thank god for sending her to us. If you have heard negative feedback about black town hospital in the past , that's not the case now and things have changed. I would even rate Blacktown hospital more than Westmead. fyi.. My first son was delivered in Westmead. So we have experience in both these hospitals. Good luck with your maternity.

If you want to have as little stress as possible during pregnancy , just avoid visiting Blacktown Hospital. But if your pregnancy is smooth, of course it has no effect on where you go. A women's health clinic and a liver specialist are worse than a nightmare. The mistakes made by them are explained as the fault of the patient because l am pregnant. I would never recommend to anyone the doctors whose mistakes cost a lot.

You do not have to wait here, the staff are very friendly and it varies when the results come depending on the amount of people on the day. All the staff members who did the test for me were very gentle. I highly recommend.

I am so impressed with the team at Blacktown hospital. My daughter was admitted and was frightened and very distressed about her impending surgery. The team here did everything they could to put her at ease, telling her jokes and by the time she was ready for surgery she was relaxed. They are wonderful and I am very grateful.

So impressed with Blacktown Hospital vaccination clinic. I work for Westmead Hospital my booster shoot was administered today at Blacktown Hospital. It’s is located just outside the main hospital in full view as you drive in. The staff there from the lovely lady that advised us where to go, the security check officers, admin staff inside the clinic to the lovely nurse that administered my vaccination thank you for your professionalism your kindness and advise. Just amazing.

I was unfortunate enough to end up at Blacktown Hospital ER this morning, after the development of kidney stones at 3AM. Throughout my time there I was treated in a prompt and professional manner. Impossible to fault them really. To all those who were involved in treating me today, thank you!

This is a far superior hospital in many ways compared to the many small privates like Norwest. Excellent facilities, space, clean and empathetic, competent staff. The NSW government just needs to adequately staff the hospital to avoid problems.

Great hospital in Western Sydney. Good volunteers and friendly receptionists. Clean facilities with ample parking and many retail stores. The space has been designed and refurbished very well.

I attended the Maternal Assessment Care/ Birthing unit while on a short trip to Syd from melb and I was extremely pleased with the care provided. Staff were very caring, took my concerns seriously and took all steps to ensure I left knowing both my baby and I will be safe. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff who were in MAC/ Birthing unit on the morning of 07/05/2023.

I had my first baby at Blacktown hospital in November 2022 - it was the BEST experience! Everyone we encountered was so helpful and caring. The Midwives there are just the best - was sad to leave and go home!

Can’t fault the help that I’ve received the past 2 days, however when leaving at around 10:50pm 15/08, the security in the main building was so rude to another patient in a wheelchair. The buzzer to get back in wasn’t working & the security could see this patient trying to get back inside by pressing the buzzer & seemed to only let him in because we were coming up behind him. He then told the patient not to go outside if he’s having trouble coming back inside & was antagonising him. Can understand the frustration of the other patient as the security was looking directly at him & pointing and not opening the door up for him.

I had 3 spontaneous lung collapses with being chest drained, the 4th time Black town hospital done a major operation on my lung 10yrs ago they gave me a discharge paper asking me to follow up with Blacktown pain clinic, 10yrs ago there was no Blacktown pain clinic, every other pain clinic my GP rung past the buck saying another areas problem. Basically this hospital stuck my in limbo giving me a wrong hospital discharge weeks after a major operation to follow up with a pain clinic that didn't exist, been in chronic pain in my lungs since thanks to them not writing a discharge paper up properly.

1 star is being generous. Emergency is absolutely disgraceful. My mother has been admitted for her appendix and has to have surgery in the morning and she has been sitting in a chair in emergency for 5 hours with no idea when she will get a bed or if she even will. The lady at reception says beds have to get cleared out and hopefully she can get a bed or a recliner soon, but she’s not even next in line for either. So she has surgery in the morning and has to spend the night in a chair ?! That’s absolutely disgusting. Blacktown hospital you should be ashamed!! Disgraceful.

Yes I had a 24 hour wait to get a bed, sat in emergency from 4.00 pm until 4.00 am but had regular communication with the staff, pleasant but firm and these people are remarkably calm for the situation they are in. Moved to a bed in emergency, treated with respect and care by Jenna and the young lady with short red hair before her on the shift change, great people! Received treatment there but missed a bed, so still waiting. Around 10.00 am moved to a transitional place to free up a bed in emergency on my way to my surgery department bed. In this area I was unfortunately attended to by a young female nurse who has no concept of care, rough and unconcerned about the pain she managed to cause, just sneered at me when I winced. Finally, around 5.00 pm I made to my be, a great relief I must say. Here I found the staff wonderful and caring, not to mention professional. What I did notice though is that the building and ammenities are suffering from the constant abuse by patients and there visitors, a lack of respect for both the staff and the hospital itself. Visitors taking call with their phones on speaker, talking loudly, letting their kids run riot and out of control. The staff are probably not allowed to intervene for fear of reprisals. I take my hat off to the team of people that met and who cared for me in the surgery ward, and the ladies that bring the meals with such good humour.

I Had surgery with Dr Edmund Gomez and cannot speak highly enough of him. You are safe, championed and valued with him and his team! Dr. Gomez and his staff were very welcoming and comforting on my first visit. They made me feel so comfortable and took my mind off being nervous. During my surgery they were so patient and calm walking me through every-single step making me feel less anxious about my procedure. I would definitely come back to Dr. Gomez for future procedures. You guys are truly the best!

Hubby was admitted after a horrific hedge trimmer accident on 8 Oct 2024. I must say we were very impressed and touched by the warm service and professionalism shown by all hospital staff . We initially had our reservations to be taken to Blacktown hospital and even asked the ambulance to take us to Westmead. Any fears we had were later ironed out by the very HARDWORKING staff. Hats off to them . God Bless !

I was given an episiotomy without my consent, I screamed out in pain the entire time and told the male Dr to stop multiple times. I was then given a husband stitch without my consent and also had a vacuum used on my babies head twice to get her out when it was not an emergency. I will be suing Blacktown hospital for everything they have done. They ruined my child’s head, her skull was moved out of place for weeks. We both spiked a fever and she was pricked so many times with an IV in the nicu that her tiny veins were swollen and bruised. The nurses don’t know what they are doing and blindly follow the instructions of useless doctors. I was made to go down to her every two hours to breastfeed her because she wasn’t allowed in my room. I was assaulted and violently violated and no one cares. This is the worst hospital. They will force intervention after intervention on you without your consent or make you sign forms while you are in agony so you don’t know what you are doing. Please ladies find a different hospital.. if they say you are out of area change your address to a family members address or friends address just so you can avoid going to this hospital PLEASE! This is for your safety, your babies safety and the safety of your mental health…. I was screamed at by the dr “if you don’t shut up I won’t help you” then held down for an episiotomy I DID NOT consent to…. This hospital is going to have its day im going to make sure of it. Media will be covering this and I will be letting anyone I can tell know! They have also let 6 babies die here in the past few years which an investigation is happening for. They are terrible all of them and only here for a pay check.

Went here a few weeks ago, I was miscarrying (but didn’t know at the time), I went in an ambulance and the paramedic was rude to me. I got put in the waiting room & was so tired and ended up falling asleep on my partner as there was barely any seats available because it was so packed. I got a few blood tests, an ultra sound and wasn’t told what was going on with my baby. I waited 13-14hrs just to be told I was miscarrying. Blacktown hospital is very slow & you won’t get attended to unless you’re basically dying.
