Would highly recommend you stay elsewhere if you can. Booked a room for 3 adults, arrived to a king bed and then was charged extra for a roll away bed. Platter we pre ordered for our arrival didn't turn up until 3 hours after our arrival, my son was also charged $63 for parking. The room was nice but very small. Filled in our order for room service breakfast and had it out well and truly before time and it was still on the door the next morning. So disappointed.

Rydges was so convenient for our early morning flight. Nice layout of the room, modern, very clean, large bathroom, and our bed was so comfortable. My only (small) complaints with our room was that I felt the bathroom could be a bit brighter over the mirror, and we were able to hear quite a bit of noise from the hall and the room beside us which was a bit frustrating when you have that early morning flight and need that sleep. The toilet had a small drip leak at the back, fixable. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, and I will definitely stay again.

Room was functional , a bit dated but comfortable enough . Location is great for travellers needing to catch a flight in the International Airport . Staff are friendly but are not proactive and I get the distinct impression that they will not step out of their comfort zone to render assistance to a guest of the hotel . The Hotel does not provide a porter service and despite asking for assistance at the front desk for help to bring several pieces of luggage to the check in counter (in the Airport) , none of the staff offered to help or provide a solution to my problem . This is the most disappoint part of my stay in Rydges (I stayed 3 nights). Staff also could not provide clear driving direction on how to get to the front of the hotel !

Perfect for when you need to catch an early international flight next day. We had a lot of luggage so were able to walk across the street and grab a luggage trolley for the 50m walk to the terminal. No hassle and no traffic anxiety trying to get to the airport on time. Worth every cent !

You can't get any closer to the airport without being in the airport itself. So close to terminal one and just a few steps from Covid testing center. I give it 5 stats for convenience alone but it is a nice room with very comfy bed.

Rydges Sydney Airport use to be great before covid. Great atmosphere, 20% discount for priority guest rewards, welcome drink and friendly bar staff. This has change a lot since my last visit. The bar person took no notice that I was a pgr customer, I question this and advice the matter would be resolved before my departure, this did not happen. The next time I travel I think I would rater stay at the Holiday Inn in Mascot and use there shuttle service when departing to the airport.

I went here for a conference for work in the rooms upstairs, the room was tidy and the food they provide was good. The staff in the building were very helpful. Only downside was the cafe downstairs at the bar is pretty slow and took half an hour to make 10 coffees so if you are in a hurry I would avoid them

We had a quite room (apart from our neighbour's TV early in the morning) on the 5th floor. The room was clean with a contemporary design. The main restaurant was closed and the hotel's shuttle bus wasn't in operation due to staff shortages. However, meals were available in the bar, which was extremely busy on the Sunday evening we were there.

The rooms were nice but just make sure you get what you paid for. They tried to put us in a downgraded room (without telling us at check-in) despite booking two months ahead and still paying the rate for the bigger room booked. It wasn't until we were firm bordering on rude that they finally offered a solution.

OMG ' a plane spotters paradise that kept my husband entertained for hours. Neat rooftop bar with views of the airport. Great food at the in-house Ascot restaurant And so conveniently located for early international departures - just walk across the road! Well designed as we gad a room facing the runways yet rarely heard any airline-related noise (takeoff or landing).

Be Careful! We booked 2 rooms as my dad and I had a one night stay in Sydney as we wanted to catch up with family before our international flight the next day. 7 weeks later Dad receives an email and is charged for a breakfast he didn't even have.

This will be my last time staying at Rydges. We normally stay here all the time before our international flights and have no issues . However this time was much different and certainly turned me off spending money at this hotel. Firstly the attitude of the service staff was disgusting, no smiles, disgusting attitude, quite rude, and felt like it was an effort to be served. Secondly, we paid for an airport room view, only to the put on the first floor when we got to our room the window was covered in a black netting, and couldn’t see the airport at all. Not what I paid for. After going down to complain about it because we paid a lot of money for this room. Didn’t pay to look at a black net. We got moved up. But they shouldn’t be charging the same price for that room! On check out the next day we had asked if we could have the same room when we were to return to Sydney. We were told absolutely no worries. Showed us the room number on our booking and confirmed it with 2 seperate people. Upon arriving back in Sydney on Friday night we went to check in to be told we were on level 1 and when questioned about why becuase AGAIN.that’s not what we paid for the attitude began and we’re offered another room again a room with black netting right across the window and being charged the same price as the airport view rooms or a king room with a sofa bed. We had to opt to the king room and unfortunately had no choice but to take that one to get our moneys worth. And I ended up having to share a bed with my mum after specifically booking a double twin room. I’m disgusted at the service we received. I’ve never encountered so many stuff ups in all my life.

How this place is listed as 4 stars is beyond me. I just stayed in a motel rated as 2 stars and it was head and shoulders above this dump. The carpets are stained and don't look like they've seen a vacuum in days. No one answers the phone at reception and my extremely disappointing small and cold meal finally got to my room 1 hour and 10 mins after I ordered it. For the money you'll spend to stay here you can do far far better!

Great airport hotel. Just booked the room, no package. Window isn't the biggest, but clean. Rooms at the north end of the hotel have a view of mainly the cargo & domestic terminals, but international heavy arrivals don't make it to this end. You do get a good view of wheels up for departing heavies and the city skyline. Car park at rear of the hotel is 12 stories high, great for sunsets & the north. Staff are very friendly & helpful, scored an early check-in & late check out. Thank you very much! Roof top bar is awesome, but needs better hours. Packed when we arrived. Overall, highly recommend a stay for a bout of plane spotting.

Stayed in the Deluxe Family Suite (Room 819). Our kids love planes and the view from this room did not disappoint. They were both glued to the window for ages watching the planes land and takeoff and all the vehicles moving around the tarmac. There is also good views of the Sydney skyline. The accommodation was excellent with soft and comfortable beds, lots of space and great sized bathroom. Highly recommend if you have an aviation fanatic in the family.

A stones throw from the international checkin desks. Super smooth checkin via self service (picking your room is a nice feature). This hotel has the best gym I’ve ever used in a hotel! Great selection of new equipment and weights machines. Large weight rack. Only thing missing is some medicine balls and kettle bells. Bed was comfy, room quiet and modern. Top tip - don’t add breakfast to your stay and checkout the cafe downstairs in the hotel

Fantastic place to stay before an early or after a late flight, our room overlooked the runways, hardly any noise at all. So close to the airport to walk, right across the road Rooms /Bed /Pillows were so comfortable and very clean. Blockout blinds let no light in at all from the airport. Plenty of eating options and variety close by in the airport. Definitely recommend.

  • 2/5 E G. 10 months ago on Google
Great location! Rooms clean and comfy. Ask for a room away from the elevator, otherwise you will hear it making noise all night. Probably the worst sleep I've had in a hotel room in a long time. Wish I stayed at home and got up at 3am instead for the flight.

Had an overnight stay. Tacked on the spotters package. The staff were very polite and friendly. Had no probs checking in or out. However no binoculars or spec sheet were offered as per the package. I wasn't overly fussed as the room lovely with an amazing view of Sydney airport. The f&b credit served well. Overall, Will be back.

Nearest hotel to airport. Great for overnight stay for early flight departure or late flight arrival. Unfortunately, everything is chargeable in the room - no complimentary water, no shaving kit, no toothbrush n paste, no in-room slippers, ... i saw some of them for purchase at lobby reception.

Arrived at night so I booked here as I had to catch a domestic flight next morning. Do not stay near the airport apart from this hotel as taxi driver will tell you a life story and rip you off and nsw government doesnt do anything. So safer to stay here! Easy check in by machine, you can take the airport trolley into the floor of your room! Convenient 💯

Awesome location 👏 service was lovely, very friendly and helpful - Smithys restaurant was good, burger was awesome, fries were cold and dry, chicken parmi was average - chips not cold but average - room was gr8 - shower was AMAZING !! gr8 views of the airport runways, we had a gr8 time watching flight radar watching flights arrive and take off - just metres away from our check in - I'd highly recommend staying at the Rydges if you've got an early flight ✈️ 😀 😉 👍 9/10

Excellent location and great views. We had to stay in Sydney as there were no flights or buses to Canberra until the next day. Rooms were decent size, views facing runway cost around 300aud per night with complimentary breakfast.

Location is the name of the game here, won’t stop anywhere else when going overseas, have used it many times, rooms always clean and tidy, and for where it’s located (straight opposite international airport) about 2mins walk to the international terminal, would highly recommend. Not really all that pricey but it is not cheap either, it is all about location.. staff are great and very helpful, dining rooms great and food is well done..

There are better options elsewhere. Only stay here if absolutely necessary. The doors are not sound proof and we spent hours listening to children carrying on in the room opposite. What's the point of a hotel room if you can't sleep because you can hear other guests in their rooms? They also didn't inform us about the overnight parking not including re-entry which turned into a major hassle. Seriously don't bother.

In my opinion this is a hyped up budget hotel at best, One person at reception at 2pm, I had to do self check in to avoid the queue, general feel and experience of the hotel is well below average given the prices charged, but conveniently located. What is not ok is to get a phone call from the restaurant after 10pm to ask if we paid. It turned out they rang the wrong room. I have to get up at 3am. Thanks Ridges for a sleepless night.

  • 5/5 Cameron J. 7 months ago on Google
Exactly what we needed. A very short walk from the international terminal and the Sydney train network. Finding the hotel was a breeze due to signage inside the international terminal. The room was small ish but comfortable and well appointed. Check in and check out were fully automated making for a speedy process.

I travel internationally for work and I really enjoy staying here for the location, fantastic rooms and the steaks are pretty good too! But I must say I'm not a fan of the self checking in/out system, hotels should be about the personal touch, I didn't enjoy feeling like I'm at the self-service register at Coles

A shout out to Yu Li who was excellent. When I arrived there was a wait and she came out of the office to accommodate me (after a long day traveling/working). She reviewed my booking and noticed the room booked was not appropriate for me, so upgraded me to a different room. Thankful for her efforts, 5 *’s.

Highly recommend staying at Rydges for anyone travelling on an early or late flight. The convenience of being across the road from the international terminal can't be beaten, and the service is top quality. Spacious rooms, lovely staff and a variety of catering to suit any taste.

  • 2/5 geoff r. 5 months ago on Google
We stayed here as it was close to the airport but you need to catch a free bus from the domestic airport to the international airport then a short walk to the hotel. You need to be aware that if you choose to catch a train to the city etc that the fare is $23 each for a single trip. I will not be staying in this particular Rydges again and would encourage to consider other accommodation.

We stay here almost every time we visit Sydney because it’s the best view of the airport! We always book the Deluxe King with Airport View and the room is incredible. Unfortunately the hotel is let down by its hospitality staff which is so frustrating. You often have to call 3 or 4 times to get through to Room Service, and they are very rude. If it weren’t for the food and beverage staff this hotel would truly be 5 stars.

Nice airport hotel on the grounds of International terminal. Hotel is extremely short walk from the terminal. Rooms comfortable and service is good. Bar and restaurant kitchen open pretty late (11pm). Bed was comfortable and room was clean with good amenities. My room overlooked the airport what was a nice plus. Not the quietest room though (but not terrible).

I love this hotel and have stayed here quite a bit after long haul flights. Had dinner last night too and it was superb. Staff are excellent and incredibly polite and helpful. However, my room was haunted and I had some very terrifying experiences. This has never happened to me before but I’ll be telling staff before I leave today and I bet I’m not the first person to say so. Room 821 is to be avoided.

  • 3/5 Timothy H. 4 months ago on Google
The only reason to stay here is the location. The room layout is awful for couples or families given the sink is in the room. If someone wakes up in the middle of the night the entire room will wake up. Why are rooms designed like this?! Besides that the rooms felt a little cheap, at least they were clean though. Check-in/check-out had long lines unless you checked-in online or used their self-service kiosks. You pay a premium for the location of the hotel, its definitely not for the quality of the room.

  • 4/5 Emma P. 4 months ago on Google
Incredibly convenient to the international airport, great for those early flights. Bathroom is well designed, with separate shower, toilet and sink areas. Expensive, but you're paying for the convenience. The restaurant is expensive too.

  • 4/5 Joe M. 5 months ago on Google
It is so nice to be able to walk to your hotel from the airport. The room was fine. The service was fine. The 9th floor bar overlooking the airport was only open until 9pm and it was too small. This is a terrible waste because they could have made it bigger to accommodate more patrons to watch planes arrive and depart at night.

  • 2/5 chan J. 6 months ago on Google
Good: Great location to catch the flight. Good facilities, great security. Great water pressure and hot water supply. The hair dryer is the best I’ve ever used in many hotels. The body wash set is great. Bad: -The stuffs in the room were covered with a thin layer of dust, which triggered sneezing and coughs, including the pillows, the bed sheets, the cups, the towels, the toilet. -We heard the noise of the air conditioning all night and people slapping their doors in the morning even though this hotel is sound-proofed. -The mattress and pillows are too soft, not comfortable for those who have lumbar and cervical spine problems. -There was no fan in the toilet room, causing a ventilation concern. -There was a full body mirror in the bathroom, I checked carefully, when I touch my fingernail to that mirror, I can touch my own reflection. I suspect that this was a fake mirror! Privacy concerns seriously!!!! -A cleaning staff entered our room without our permission and messed up our luggage, we were out for a breakfast and we didn’t check out yet. We feel angry after saw this. She was even reluctant to leave when I asked her to leave. Very awful! -The receptionist was not very friendly, looked at me as if I was a thief. Overall, not too bad, but not gonna come back. With the problems mentioned above, it’s too expensive ($233 one night) to stay here. Not recommended!

Checked in after the flight delay. Walking distance from international terminal. Little slow in check in but very friendly. Tried hotel restaurant and food was better than expected. Felt little odd because I need to tell my name and room number to get the seat. Overall, good experience.

Recently stayed at the Rydges Sydney Airport on a stopover while traveling from Australia to Canada, and had a great experience. The room was a little old and had a few bumps and scrapes, but it was clean and had everything I needed. The fact that you could close the curtains and the room was dark was a nice change from many other hotels. While I was there ordered room service which was delicious! The crispy spicy chicken burger was fab! Service from the front desk was great!

Good luck trying to get your money back from these guys if you have a reason for refund or if you've been overcharged. I stayed for one night and have been charged for 4 nights (it was the initial booking, however I cancelled the rest as didn't have to stay any longer in NSW due to quarantine reason). Since then I have spoken with them numerous times and each time they've promised to fix it. Also sent emails with no response. It's now 2 weeks. Other than that it's worth mentioning the staff didn't even say good morning when we went to have breakfast and were the only ones there. Oh and the room service food was pretty poor effort as well. My recommendation: Strong Avoid

Staying here atm for a few nights. The most comfortable beds and pillows on the planet - period. Huge shower. Excellent spot with half price parking at P7 - reception validates your parking ticket for half price rates, about $30 for 24hrs parking. Very quiet too, will stay again👍

I have stayed here out of quarantine as a airline crew. Good : This place is on the airport. You can walk to the terminal building. The hotel staff and the police during quarantine seemed friendly and was a good experience. Room : The bed is TOO SOFT. Unless you want to wake up with a stiff back or a painful good morning. I had to sleep on the floor to avoid the above. Food : Everything I ordered during quarantine time, was good. The food was fresh and had a good taste. Had ordered a pizza 🍕 once and I can safely recommend, not explore that side of the chef's expertise. Very average for the pizza. Rooms are quiet, though I was facing the apron area there was no noise. Internet : Not the best for the year and tech age we live in. Keeps getting disconnected and sometimes goes off. Video calls were choppy and online gaming was bad. YouTube buffered as well at times.

It took 40 minutes waiting in the que to check in. Not enough staff. Grouchy wait staff in the bar/restaurant. I went to my room and someone was in there. They apologised and upgraded me to a king suite and the bed was amazing. Not sure if I would stay here again. Convenient location but poorly run.

Decent hotel, but location is key driver. Great. to arrive from OS and just walk a few metres to hotel. Shuttle bus available (Sydney Super Shuttle) with $8.50 cost to get over to domestic out of hours of the hotel shuttle.

Firstly, the Sirloin steak - whatever you are doing, keep doing it. Great cut and portion, superbly cooked, fries and salad excellent. Raja behind stick, very amicable chap, you definitely need a second bartender on shift but with Covid times being what they are a skeleton crew is forgivable. Nevertheless, he handled a busy bar with aplomb and nonchalance which is the mark of a professional bartender. The room was clean and comfortable and the service desk helpful and attentive. They validate airport parking so you save 50%. Could you ask any more from an airport hotel? Surely not.

I could not be more happy with my choice. Literally 10 m from the door to the international terminal. Friendly from desk staff. Large rooms with immaculate presentation. If you have an early flight stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Good room, nice food, need more front counter staff. We were there for 2nights and every time we were in the lobby there was a line of at least 3-4 people waiting at the front desk. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Food. Nicely cooked steak supposed to come with “steak fries” but turned up with limp salad and French fries soggy from the salad dressing. All unseasoned. After requesting salt and pepper had to wait so long most of it was cold. Now, I’m going to be told “COVID staff shortages”. Fine. If the meals and service is going to be so reduced in quality and timelines, so should the room rate

The best hotel, just across the road from the arrivals area at Mascot airport. Friendly and polite check in. The room was spotlessly clean. Amenities were good. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Cold buffet from 0500, then hot buffet from 0600. Plenty of choice and all fresh. The chef was constantly checking the food and I never saw anything empty. Staff lovely. The food choices were great. Check out staff were polite and efficient. I will definitely stay here anytime I have to use the airport. Simply the best.

Got bumped from my flight and stuck in Sydney. Asked the gentlemen at the front counter if they had room, an was told they were fully booked. Walked out the front and immediately booked a room on their website. Not great service to someone stuck and willing to throw money at them.

  • 3/5 Lisa A. 2 years ago on Google
Rooms are ok, but there were stains on the carpet and bedding that looked like juice or similar so definitely not as pristine as I hoped for the price. Also no milk in the fridge for coffee and I had to get some from the restaurant. The location was fantastic but it rather pay a little further out if the service and quality is no better than another hotel a short bus ride away. This was a luxury spend which I regret now as I should have saved the money for my cancer medication instead. We have stayed at another local hotel before for half the price and got a nicer room and better service. Very disappointed in Rydges.

Average hotel for the price of $240 a night. The bed was super comfy. Room needed a dust over as it looked like it had been sitting for a while. Reception staff could be more engaging with customers.

Great location just steps from Sydney airport's international terminal. No need to hassle with taxis or transfers before your long flight. The rooms are on the smaller side, but are clean, quiet, and comfy. Make sure to book a room with a view of the runway and city. Pub food is available in the lobby bar restaurant. It's good but better can be found elsewhere. The breakfast buffet is disappointing and not worth the money.

Can’t complain. Check in was easy and quick. The room is clean and well appointed. The staff are friendly and efficient. The included breakfast was excellent. It’s not the cheapest hotel around, but being across the road from the international terminal makes it easy to catch my flight. I’ll stay here again!

So lovely. It’s walking distance to the hotel from the airport. We booked our rooms soon as our plane landed and walked over and got our room keys. Rooms are so functional, spacious and clean. I like the set up of the room. The bed is on one side and couch on the other with tvs for both area. Bathroom is spacious and they have fridge stocked with snacks and counter with drinks, that they’ll charge to the room if you decide to eat or drink. They also have a restaurant here on the second floor that was delicious and filling and a bar on the first. We charged our dinner bill to the room and just paid the waiters tip in cash. This hotel is lovely and convenient as to why my family uses it on our trips to Sydney every time.

Only a 1 minute walk from the international airport terminal. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, with a very large bathroom. Our room had a great view over the airport and the city skyline. No aircraft noise despite the proximity to the runways. The hotel also has a rooftop bar, in addition to ground floor bar.

  • 4/5 Paul R. 1 year ago on Google
First, minibars! Minibars are the absolute worst. Despite not using anything we were charged for several items, for which I then had to waste time getting a refund after our stay. Always check your receipt carefully! The hotel was, at best, careless with that, and the stay was already not cheap. For an airport hotel, it's also frustratingly inflexible if you have a flight arriving in the early morning - don't expect to check-in early, even if you ask in advance. On the plus side, it really is super conveniently located for buses and the International Airport station (just be aware of the access fee for the station). The view over the airport was also sensational - one of the best airport hotel views I've seen anywhere. The room itself was also very nice, especially the bathroom area. Very soundproof too, with little or no plane noise. Would I stay here again? If I had a morning or early afternoon international flight departing Sydney, or an international flight arriving in the afternoon or evening, then probably. The location, room quality and airport view would make it just about worth the price for a single night.

  • 4/5 Nita 1 year ago on Google
I have mixed feelings about this but will rate based on quality of room, location and price. It is pretty good for the view that we are getting. The reception I would call it just a standard service, not exceptional, just good. Location is literally just outside the international terminal, cross the road and you will get there in under 2 minutes. Plenty of signage, you won't have any issue finding it. However similar to a few big chain hotels, we had an incorrect charge of the minibar which we did not touch, barely opened as I made sure there was a huge suitcase in front of it that our 3 year old wouldn't be able to open it. If we didn't notice the charge and ask for a refund, we would be paying for something that we did not consume. We were asked and did tell the reception upon check out that we didn't touch it. Shame, could have been a 5 star. This would still be excellent for a short stay, or after a long international flight or just a long transit.

Great location just steps from Sydney airport's international terminal. The rooms are on the smaller side, but are clean, quiet, and comfy. Staff were excellent. Make sure to book a room with a view of the runway, was the highlight of the hotel for me, spent hours looking out the window. Pub food is available in the lobby bar restaurant and it was delicious as well as the restaurant on level 1, not the biggest selection but was good quality meals. The breakfast buffet is disappointing and not worth the money in my opinion, quite expensive for the small selection.

Arrived in Sydney after 30hrs of flying and had a several hour wait till my next domestic flight. I was shattered and just needed to sleep a couple of hours. Was easily able to book a day room 8am to 5pm. The gentleman who served me at reception was lovely and even rang me to wake me up so I didn’t miss my flight later in the day. Will definitely be staying here again!!!!

Perfect spot if you're flying out internationally the next day. It's not even a5 minute walk to the international check in counters. Nice modern rooms with comfortable beds. Beats the hell outta sleeping in the terminal, that's for sure. I paid a little over 250 for a 12 hour stay and a hot shower to freshen up but was WELL worth it.

Stay elsewhere. This hotel is a dump. What I liked The only reason one stays here is for convenience to international departures but it's certainly not worth the premium price you pay for it. What I didn't like - I paid a premium for a King Suite with views overlooking the airport. It's worth noting, just 2 months previously, I booked a King room with airport views. On both occasions, the windows were dirty indicating a severe lack of maintenance. And to think I paid a premium for this accommodation. - The room decor is very dated - F&B service was slow and expensive. I waited just under an hour for a chicken parmy at a very quiet restaurant. The beer was overpriced at $12/schooner. The food quality was mediocre at best. - The staff were rude and unhelpful, like none of them wanted to be there. - No porter or luggage trolley to take your large, heavy suitcases to/from your room. Note: For the same price as a King Suite, I can get a fabulous room at the Sheraton on the Park including an airport transfer, great facilities and an awesome breakfast. 3 star rating max for this hotel.
