    Simply put, I have made more progress in the last 4 months that I’ve been training here than I have in the last 4 years. Josh focuses on form and technique teamed with great workout plans that he changes up regularly. The small classes means that you’re getting individual attention whether that’s for tips to improve form, a bit of motivation or just a chat. You have the space to get on with your workout whilst knowing Josh and Ellie are there for support and guidance. The three hours a week I spend here are quality training hours that I know I wouldn’t achieve if I trained by myself on a gym floor. Just wish I joined sooner!

    Highly recommend Josh! He has the patience of a saint and the knowledge of a wise owl🦉As someone who dreaded the gym now I love it! Each session is tailored to you with a unique style to track your progress. Plus Onyx the mascot comes in sometimes to cheer you on 🐶

    From my initial consult with Josh, I knew he was the kind of PT I needed. As a new mum and physiotherapist who has always loved exercise, I felt I needed individual guidance in my postpartum journey. Josh goes above and beyond to make sure my training sessions are tailored to my needs. He is encouraging, kind and exceptional at cueing good form. It’s the level of professionalism where you just know you’re working with an expert in the field! Thanks again, Josh :)

    Josh has created an inviting space for people to come and train from all backgrounds. He is diligent and thorough when understanding your goals, and puts in place a tailored program specific to your needs. He’s very approachable for any health and fitness needs and has solid contacts in the industry should you need a physio/chiropractor/nutritionist. I have never taken my nutrition seriously when training outside of hitting my protein goal. Josh has put a plan in place for me to be able to train to my full potential, while hitting nutrition goals that don’t feel like a chore. If commercial gyms aren’t your thing, please check out The Performance Pit and drop Josh an email/insta dm!!

    I started in The Performance Pit only 5 weeks ago and already I know it was the best decision I've made since arriving in Sydney. Josh always caters for my individual needs, makes me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable during all of my sessions and is always on hand to answer or provide feedback when needed. No matter what level of fitness you are on, it is clear that Josh genuinely cares about all of his clients. Josh is not only helping me to get stronger and fitter but his kind nature has also helped me to get over a mental block about entering the gym alone.

    The best gym and trainers ever! I’ve been training here the past couple months and I have nothing to fault. Ticks all the boxes for me which I’ve broken down below. You’re getting semi private PT from amazing trainers at a very low cost. Trainers: The best part about this place. They do their jobs for the right reasons! I’ve never been made to feel dumb or self conscious or embarrassed, these guys go the extra mile. Coach Josh is very experienced and down to earth. Despite being in the industry for many years he’s not intimidating at all and very approachable, even online between sessions for any random questions. Coach Ellie is newer to the industry but is always full of the best tips and she’s helped me smash my PBs. They’re both super encouraging and supportive, and have only ever given positive and welcome vibes. Space: Small but well resourced. There’s everything you need for a good workout and it’s always kept clean including the bathroom. They have a water cooler, fans and aircon which are very much appreciated. Sessions: Workouts are designed based on your own specific goals. I have some movements I can’t do due to sinus problems and Josh easily reworked them for me. Nice mix of compound movements and more conditioning style exercises, so your whole body feels engaged. Have gotten the best pumps from these workouts! Ambience: It’s small group PT and usually 6 max per session. Everyone is nice but we all do our own thing and don’t get too involved in anyone’s business. Saying that everyone is super encouraging which is great for that extra morale boost. Music is usually good depending on who is DJing. Extremely high value for money, especially with this cost of living crisis, I feel like the experience here at the Performance Pit is priceless. I’m looking forward to continual training here and will of course update my review if any technical aspects change. Let me tell you, I’ve tried out some trainers before and all pale in comparison. Josh and Ellie are some of the best humans I’ve met and can’t recommend this place enough!

    Only just started recently at the performance pit and honestly have never found a gym I really enjoy. The environment is so welcoming and josh is amazing, he know so much and it really shows how much he cares about his clients through the endless time he spends making specific work outs based on your fitness . I am excited to continue to progress and to continue to thrive with Josh’s help

    Would highly recommend this gym to anyone, whether they’re beginners or advanced! The programs provided are excellent and they allow me to reach my strength and fitness goals while also improving my overall health. Training at the performance pit provides accountability and guarantees consistency. The coaches are knowledgable and friendly while the other gym members are always approachable and keen to train, making my training experience at the pit that much more enjoyable. The gym itself uses high quality equipment and is always kept in spectacular condition regardless if you’re training in the morning or night. Josh takes pride in providing a professional service that goes above and beyond to support you. Knowledgable and caring trainers mixed with a fantastic facility to achieve success!

    I've been training with Josh and the team at the performance pit for about 12 weeks now and couldn't recommend it highly enough!! Strength training is a new thing for me but I'm absolutely loving it from my experience here! The small group training with individualised advice and guidance makes the performance pit so different to other gyms I've tried. Josh is a great coach, his focus on form and technique have helped me feel much more confident using gym equipment. He has also tailored my sessions to work around an injury I had making sure I could continue to train safely. The personalised plan & tracking keeps me consistent & motivated as I can see the progress. Josh really gives his clients 100%. I'm feeling so much stronger after a relatively short time and looking forward to continuing to train here!

    I have been training with Josh for over a year and a half and couldn't recommend the Performance Pit highly enough! With Josh's expertise and programs, I have improved my fitness, strength and overall lifestyle. With consistent training and accountability, Josh has helped me to improve my strength while staying injury free. Josh's investment in his clients is clear through the results that people achieve. The gym itself has a very friendly and approachable atmosphere, with a mixture of all ages and abilities. The group sessions are a great environment to train in, with modern equipment and plenty of space. I guarantee you won't regret trying out a session! Thank you Josh!

    Joined the Pit with Josh to get some motivation, accountability and guidance as I really had very little knowledge with strength training. I have gained so much more confidence and knowledge when it comes to training. I love the small class environment, you get the personal training experience along with with team encouragement from other members. Cannot recommend Josh enough for his dedication and time put into each client, it’s a brilliant personal way to begin and further your gymming experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Best training studio in Sydney.. Great Environment, choice of Equipment and variety of class times to suit. I have made the most progress here after trying a number of different gyms/studios before and this is the best one by far I have been too. Josh is a great trainer, helps correct your form if required and all the classes are very enjoyable

    Josh is the best trainer I have worked with. He focuses on low impact strength training which is perfect for beginners and experienced gym goers. He adapts the exercises to accommodate any injuries someone may have and makes sure you are doing everything correctly to prevent them. His classes are not repetitive and the mixed exercises are a great full body workout. I have recently completed a 12 week challenge and from training 3 times a week and monitoring my food intake I have lost 11kg and 5% body fat. I did this while still having multiple nights out and over indulging every now and then.

    Josh makes The Performance Pit so much more than a gym. Having max 6 people to a class means that my form has come on so much in the last 8 weeks. Josh has helped me create such a better relationship with food and taught me how to fuel my body to get the best out of my gym sessions. I love the weekly challenges and the accountability keeping me on track but also being able to fit in social occasions. The programs are easy to follow and updated every 4 weeks to keep it challenging and interesting. It’s great to look back at the end of a 4-week block to see how much i've improved. Beginner or experienced gym goer, joining The Performance pit is the best investment you can make in yourself. No matter what your main goal is Josh will coach you in the right direction with the pit community making it such an enjoyable experience.

    I have been training with Josh for over a year and he has been amazing! When I moved to Sydney I quickly fell in love with training at The Performance Pitt. Josh is a friendly, approachable and knowledgeable coach. He is flexible in his approach and was always able to adjust the exercises for me to accommodate any injuries I had. The gym is bright, clean and welcoming. Having structured classes at the same times each week worked very well for me, I just booked at the start of the week and the rest was effortless, Josh designed the plans to focus on upper, lower and full body each week, these plans ran for four weeks which allowed me to focus on my technique, gain confidence with the movement and increase my weight each week. Training with Josh and the gang at The Performance Pitt over the past 18 months has changed me in many ways, not only do I notice significant changes in my physical appearance, my strength has improved immensely, I have gained confidence as a female using gym equipment, particularly free weights and have no hesitation working out with the ‘big dogs’ in other gyms, my knowledge of nutrition and calorie consumption has also improved and I continue to make positive food choices! Although I have now returned to Ireland, I still continue to train weekly and have the confidence to do so on my own now, I am forever grateful to the main man himself, Josh in helping and guiding me on my journey, I feel and look great, and that’s all I really wanted when I started. Thank you Josh!

    I have been training with Josh since last October after multiple recommendations from different friends. I can’t recommended the Performance Pit highly enough. Josh is excellent at what he does and fosters an excellent and personable gym environment. The classes are small and programs tailored. Josh is very good to motivate and keep us all accountable. Josh also integrates weekly challenges and prizes into the program which keeps things interesting and give us all that extra bit of motivation! I have tried a variety of different gyms in Sydney and this is definitely my favourite!

    I have been training with Josh for over a year now and I couldn't recommend the Performance Pit highly enough. I have tried a variety of personal trainers and small group fitness classes and this is by far my favourite. Josh is very friendly and an extremely knowledgeable coach. The classes are small (max six people) with tailored programs every four weeks. Josh is always there to motivate and guide you through the session to ensure your technique is correct and prevent any injuries occurring. The facilities are always clean, and the equipment is in excellent condition. Thanks Josh

    I trained with Josh in The Performance Pit for over a year and would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering joining. The environment in the gym is very positive and supportive from both Josh and the other gym goers. As there is max 6 to a class, you never need to wait around for equipment and you are guaranteed to get through your full workout. I loved that he creates a plan for us to follow. You can clearly see yourself progressing week after week as we use an app to track everything. Josh is great to motivate you to work hard and keep improving. I also loved that he holds you accountable and makes sure you book your classes every week. I have tried many gyms in the past and this is the only one where I have gone consistently, and it is the only one where I have seen myself progress. Josh is a brilliant coach and has taught me the correct form to use for many exercises. I now feel much more confident using gym equipment and also knowing my technique is correct.     I have been training with Josh at the performance pit for 18 months now, so this is a tried and tested review!! After sustaining a knee injury I wanted to trial lower impact strength training rather than HIIT or CrossFit that I had previously been a member of, and I have not looked back since. Josh is excellent at what he does and has created a gym that provides a strength programme personable to the individual. He is diligent in correcting form, technique and keeping everyone accountable. All facilitated through the small group classes. The programme changes every 4 weeks which gives time to progress in strength through the movements whilst changing often enough not to become monotonous and keeps you engaged. Josh is a great motivator and will help you achieve any goals you set for yourself - strength or weight loss, he keeps you accountable with tracking sheets and an app to track your progress. From my experience I highly recommend the performance pit and have already successfully encouraged many of my friends to join.

    Joined Just over two months ago as needed some help getting back into the swing of things , having someone to be accountable too and making sure I turned up and did the work. It’s a brilliant environment for all levels of fitness with the encouragement and guidance of Josh the work gets done and am never in my comfort zone. Brilliant gym 😄

    I have been training with Josh in the performance pit for nearly 12 weeks now and have been really enjoying it. I had come back from a trip to Ireland and had no routine or structure in my diet or training. Josh has a structured workout plan that is easy to follow on the app and it changes every 4 weeks so it’s a great way to see yourself improving as each session you track your weights and reps. I am currently doing the 12 week challenge which has been great for my accountability as Josh has an easy to use spreadsheet that makes it easy to document each day. He also sets calories/macros and step count. Josh and Ellie have really helped me with my technique in a lot of exercises and I always feel very supported in the gym. I would really recommend the performance pit.

    I started strength training with Josh 8 months ago as an absolute beginner, starting with a few 1:1 sessions to build my confidence, then moving to small group training 3x a week. Saying I wasn’t a gym bunny before, is a massive understatement, so I was really nervous. I picked The Performance Pit after meeting 3 different personal trainers in the area, and instantly knew Josh was the one who would help me conquer my fear of the gym. 8 months in, and I’m proud of myself for the strength and confidence I’ve gained, and so grateful to Josh for the highly personalised support I’ve had from him along the way. His attention to form is outstanding, and he doesn’t mind spending extra time with you to help with, or adapt, an exercise when needed. And, dare I say, I’m having fun in the process - who would have thought?!
