Surprisingly good zoo for a small Caribbean island. The price is high (€17.50/pp), but it is larger than it looks from the road. Don't expect any large mammals, but they do have two large cats (a black jaguar--I've never seen one before ever--and a puma/cougar) and a variety of monkeys. The grounds are interesting as well, since it is the ruins of a former sugar mill and rum distillery. Some beautiful flowers on the grounds as well. Takes about an hour and a half to two hours to walk through. You can walk here from St. Pierre, but there are some spots where there is little room to walk along the highway. Take the second road in from the beach (not the first one as suggested by Google Maps) for a better/wider sidewalk. Click Helpful below if this review has been of help to you.

Small but entertaining zoo for adults and children alike. Got the ticket sale in conjunction with Balata Gardens. The zoo's grounds are in a former Rum Distillery.

The zoo is an excellent attraction for families in the area. The grounds, wow, the park is located in a tight Valley and they worked there enclosures within the ruins of Saint Pierre. There is a wide variety of animals, but become they a more free to roam in larger enclosures they can be difficult to see sometimes. But honestly the most impressive thing is the landscaping. Incredible. Worth to the visit!

Great little zoo in the ruins of an old rum distillery. Entrance fee is 17,5 euros. They have signs in French and English. Cool little exhibit on pirates at the end as well.

This zoo is a must-see on the island. Spacious and natural, with a large variety of animals, birds, butterflies etc. - perfect for kids. The highlight was an adorable Puma couple, totally into each other, who completely ignored the visitors

This is much more than just a zoo, it is a botanical garden in a historical place! We like it more than Balata gardens. The ruins of the old LATOUCHE house and the history of people of Martinique combined with the natural beauty of the location made for a great day! The kids loved it as well!

Amazing experience! Please don't come looking for bigger animals like you might find in a larger US zoo. This zoo is built into the environment and features local creatures, large and small. The small primates were very curious and the aviaries were plentiful with activity. The scenery of the abandoned factory / ruins cannot be described and must be experienced. Takes about an hour, and would definitely come back if I return to the island.

Perfect zoo to visit with young kids! Takes about 1.5hr to walk through the beautiful grounds/garden. Very well signage within the zoo. Just for the vegetation is worth the price plus you don’t feel like it’s cages after cages. Lots of space. Easy walk even with a stroller. Highly recommend!

This is a nice zoo. It is smaller, so it lacks a large variety of animals, but it is also a garden. The ruins it is built in are amazing to look at and make it a rather unique experience – especially the history and construction of the mill. Some places in the zoo simply are breathtaking. I recommend it as a place to reconnect with nature.

A must to see attraction in Martinique while traveling with kids and even alone. The small animals selection is good and they seem to be well taken care of. The setup on the ruins of old factory is an awesome idea.

We were with a tour so had to see in an hour and a half , would have liked longer . The surrounding are beautiful , But the cages much to small for the animals the Leopard especially was showing signs of, distress pacing back and forth on same spot .

I've never been to a zoo like this. Built into the ruins and the landscape, I hardly felt like I was in a zoo. It was great!

It's cute - a little mix of history, botanical garden and animal rescue. Everything very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Try to go there if there are little animations / info sessions, cause you can learn a lot and ask all your questions!

Nice way through the zoo with rope bridges. Turtles walking by your side. You can find two wc rooms one in the entrance and the other in the middle of the zoo. It is located next to le carbet area.

Nice Zoo with an amazing vegetation, very groomed garden but I missed a few animals like lokal spiders the Hercules beetle and the Martinique Lancehead. And it's quite expensive.

never thought I'd say those words, but "extremely nice Zoo". the parc in itself is worth a visit with luxurious vegetation and relaxing paths meandering through the ruins. The animals are always the problematic part of Zoos for me, but I'm happy to say all animals have spacious *open air* enclosures and none, not even the panthers made a depressive or neurotic impression. This is helped by the fact that they are "local" im the widest sense (no ice bears or penguins;) completely recommended!
